Not the best for students.
I sent it back and got the Apple drive for my MacBook Pro. The outer packaging of this ultralight portable drive was a little beat up, as if it wasn’t handled with care in the factory. The dvd drive itself felt fragile and super light, reminded me of a plastic toy. The adapter for the MacBook was packaged in a way that looked like it was put in at the last minute. I gave it a chance and put a dvd in. At first I was pleased despite the lack of quality but quickly realized that if I paused the DVD player and came back later to press play, the dvd would start over. Fast forwarding wasn’t great. Sometimes the dvd would stop and restart. I tried for a week but decided to send it back. I got the Apple drive for my MacBook and Have not had any issues. This is one of those “I got what I paid for moments”

Not compatible with Chromebook….
I bought this unit because it said it worked with a Chromebook in the description. Perhaps I mis-read, but it does not. It worked fine with my Lenovo at work, but I was disappointed it would not work with my Chromebook. Decent quality, but does not seem like it will last very long. Time would tell. I would not buy again unless it was on sale.

Do not buy
Purchased for a class I have that happens to have DVD’s and CD’s that are part of the class. The product does not work. I wish I had read other reviews prior to purchasing
