Decent
This device seems to work okay but the volume is too low even maxed out, and the unit also takes a very long time to charge / re-charge. You can maybe watch 2 movies on battery power before needing a re-charge.3/6/23 Update: Fortunately the seller stands behind this product. When I reported the volume issue to them, they contacted me by email and in working together my volume issue has been resolved with an external pair of USB powered speakers, that they paid for, connected to the phones jack.

It’s okay
Volume is terrible- can barely hear what is playing.UPDATE: the company contacted me via email, apologizing for my bad experience. They offered a refund as a gift card through Amazon which was easily accessible and very appreciated. They were conscientious and quick to answer questions and offer assistance to the product, though it didn’t help , they went the extra mile and made it right. That’s a good company to go above and beyond. I appreciated the honesty and professionalism.Thank you.-m

Update NOT Happy
I have had the other Wonnie DVD player for 2 1/2 years and I had no issues. The screen is clear and nice but this one for some reason has lines that are going all across the screen and I don’t know where they are coming from it seems like it’s from the heat but it is never left in the car. I spent more money for this one which is not comparable to the smaller one. It’s annoying because the lines are clearly visible while watching it. Luckily for me my daughter is only 3 and doesn’t complain but it bothers me because I expected more out of this product for the price.Update…customer service is phenomenal! This is a company who cares about their customers. They reached out to me after my review and went above and beyond to help me with the DVD player. I will continue to purchase from them. They did not even ask me to fix my review as other companies have.Update: DVD stopped working for my daughter’s favorite DVD’s it is now saying it doesn’t support region. I have tried contacting the company and it’s been a week with no response. I can not find where they say if you need help or replacement to contact them for fast response. I reached out through the email and they haven’t responded. Meanwhile my toddler can’t watch her favorites.

Great product!
I absolutely love this DVD/CD player. The screen is big, the picture is awesome, the sound is great. There are some features I do not understand but I am working on that. I wish the printing in the instruction manual was larger. It is a beautiful player and I am so happy with it. Overall, this is a great product!

Very Nice
I am enjoying this new DVD player very much. My most recent laptop did not come with a built-in DVD or CD player. I used to use it all the time. I selected this player because I could not resist the size of the screen and the low price for a player like this. Many have complained about the volume, and I see what they mean. It does not go up super loud, but you can hear it well if you don’t use headphones. And if you do use headphones, make sure they are plugged into the player all the way. It is extremely easy to set up and use. It is very easy to select certain episodes. When you pause it, you just click a button. If you are away from the player with it paused for longer than you planned, a screensaver automatically comes up, so the image doesn’t burn on the screen. I love its ability to pivot in different positions. The picture quality I think depends on the quality on the dvd, but I do notice that at least for the dvds I have played so far, the picture quality is good but is not crystal clear like you would get on a tv. I consider myself lucky to have found this product. I didn’t know anyone made them with this great, most-enjoyed screen size. I recommend this product.

Pending receipt of replacement
5 star rating dependent upon receipt of replacement.Purchased Sept 22 and only use on long car trips. After 2 months it would stop the movie with lid open error. Service Dept sent multiple ways to try to fix the error. Sadly, they did not work. Service has advised a replacement product will be sent and asked for a 5 star review. I will update this review upon receipt of replacement.Love the larger screen and ease of use. Perfect for traveling with a child.

The product is ok. The customer service is very good
As a truck driver I thought this would be perfect for watching movies during down time. The size is good, and I like that I can plug it in to my stereo for better sound. What I dont like is that it doesn’t load some of my movies, and for some others it takes a long time to load. The screen is decent as long as you adjust it to view straight on. From angles the picture appears dark.Cara in customer service was very helpful and eager to make my experience with this product, and the seller, a good one. She did a wonderful job of trying to help me troubleshoot my issues and come to a resolution. Great job Cara!

Excellent quality and customer support
I use this DVD player an average of an hour per day presenting company product benefits to potential customers. The screen is large and clear. The audio is also plenty loud and crisp. After 9 months of use, I had a product failure. It was still under the one year warranty. I contacted Wonnie customer service by phone and email. They emailed corrective instructions and surprisingly it worked temporarily. But something else was wrong besides. Having failed again, I again emailedand Wonnie customer service apologized that I was having continued difficulty was asked to send a screenshot of the failure appearance. I was assured that they would resolve my problem whatever it took. Having sent rhe screenshot, Wonnie customer service determined that the problem wasn’t worth me sending the unit in to repair. Instead they just sent a completely new unit within 4 days. It works fine, problem solved!I have used 5 different DVD players from different Chinese manufacturers. This is the best largest one for the least cost for its size. All units fail in some way in less than 3 years when used a lot. I purchase an extended 2 year warranty on top of the basic. In this case the unit failed in the basic warranty period. That is not usually the case. The extended warranty is cheap and those companies do honor their contract. Bottom line, I highly recommend this DVD player.

Nice DVD player!
Purchased this DVD player in order to play DVDS from outside the United States. It is easy to use, has a large screen, and the picture quality is great. It also plays DVDS from the United States. When I view DVDS on this player I place it on a table or on my lap. When using it on my lap I place a hard flat surface, like a laptop computer, directly under the DVD player. This keeps the device level and avoids skipping. Another thing to consider is the location of the on/off switch. It is very hard to see if you don’t have 20/20 vision. It’s location is on the right side of the DVD player, right next to where the plug, plugs into the device. It is dark and very small. I needed a flashlight to find it.Overall, this DVD player is a great value. The size alone makes it worth the price. The fact that it plays DVDS from inside and outside the United States makes it worthwhile. I am very pleased about this purchase.

On task learning aide
Arrived quickly and the packaging was solid. The plastic packing case is a definite bonus to protect from dust while stored. There are clear instructions for customer service if you have any issues. So, I purchased this DVD player for my kiddo who has figured out how to access any browser on his computer. Yeah, yeah, I know how to lock everything but then I have to unlock for others sharing and so forth and so on…During remote learning, my youngest will have this DVD player for one purpose-only: offline learning using educational DVDs. Yes, use his “school”laptop for online classes. Live homework with mom or tutor. Review or prep content (as needed) with the DVD player. If earns it, time on his “fun” laptop for those apps and games. Second use of our new DVD player for our family will be watching the huge drawer of DVD’s that I was just about to throw out due to hubby’s nagging until the pandemic hit.Last but not least, our cable and WiFi tends to go down during snowstorms. Now, I CAN’T WAIT for the next huge winter blaster to watch my DVD collection of The Matrix movies with no interruption. Power outage? Kids, plug in the DVD player to the portable battery and get cozy. Let it snow!About the player, it’s got the swivel screen! Cool! Leave it on a table and sit where you like. The sound and the picture are great and I can’t tell you how convenient it will be to have a remote. Easy peasy! My other kids STILL think I bought myself a new laptop due to size of the device, haha. More updates once we start using it regularly-remote learning starts next week!

Stopped working
Stopped working 3 months after we got it. Will start to play a DVD but freezes within 15 minutes of starting.Update: the sellers responded to my review and offered a refund or exchange. I opted for the refund. Very happy with the prompt response from the seller. Updated my review to 3 stars based on the fast and satisfactory action on their part.

Nice player with great screen at a good price! Only bad thing is it does not play MP4’s.
Overall I like it very much. It has a crisp, clear screen that stays viewable from wide angles, that are further than you’d actually want to view from. Controls feel a tad flimsy, but work well and are pretty straight-forward to operate. That’s a good thing, because the manual is about 50% worthless. They really need to get an English speaking person to translate it. The drive is quiet and doesn’t distract or make it hard to hear the sound. There is plenty of volume which is great, because many of these players are very weak in that area. The sound quality… pretty tinny, but it’s fine. The biggest and only real negative thing I can say about this and almost all of these type players, is that it doesn’t play MP4’s. Probably one of the most used formats for cell phone videos, digital camera videos, almost any ripped, copied, or downloaded movies. It must makes it a real pain in the butt because you must convert them to AVI’s. They play beautifully then. Lastly, it can run a long time on a charge (can do a couple movies), and if that runs out, it will run on 12V or AC. It draws very little on 12V, so is MUCH better than using a laptop to watch movies, plus it can charge off 12V. It’s fantastic for an RV or boat!

Not fantastic, but it is a good unit…so far.
Grandkids have only watched 2 movies so far, the player is ok. This is a DVD player for your smaller spaces, not to replace your living room big screen with surround. Therefore the volume is a good range 0-20, and the display is good, you can change display properties in settings to enhance it some. All my options were set to zero, so adjusting was needed. Adding Bluetooth for external speaker would be a huge plus. Control panel is very clear and easy to use, buttons have a good positive click feel when pressed. Remote is small and has too many buttons, very busy little remote, but it works fine. Player has big rubber feet that provide good stability and air flow underneath unit. I bought this player for the sole purpose of using it in my camper. Works great for that. Volume setting at 10 or 12 is plenty when inside camper watching movies. I like this player and for the price I’m happy so far. So Far.

A very nice portable player
This is a great player for the price. Screen is large and swivels easily. Screen control are easily accessed through the LCD menu. Sound quality is good. It played my DVDs from the library with no problem (they are often battered). The controls on the console are large and easy to see which is a plus for those of us who need “cheaters”. I had a question and customer service was prompt and excellent. They were very, very helpful. This is a company I would do business with again.

Battery doesn’t last as long as advertised
We purchased this because it said a fully charged battery would last upto 6 hours. However, the reality is more like 3 hours. Also we couldn’t get the volume to increase beyond a certain level…20. Any background noise made it difficult to hear. Other than that, it is fine.

Not User Friendly and Outdated Controls
I wanted to love this unit! I love the jazzy color. I like the size of the screen. I like that the battery was designed to last for 2 entire movies. I liked that you could charge the battery in the car during power outages at home. I liked the Price Point. I liked that it got so many great reviews! Unfortunately, this unit seems poorly designed and constructed.Cons:1. The sound of the DVD disc spinning is very loud (almost sounds like it is rubbing on something as the disc turns).2. No visible indicator as to when the DVD has stopped spinning (you have to press on the Drive Cover for it to spring up and risk damaging the disc if it hasn’t come to a complete stop)3. Directions tell you to charge the battery for 2 more hours after the Green “Fully Charged Light” illuminates. I don’t plan on staring at this device for the entire charging period. How will I know when the light comes on to add 2 more hours?4. Buttons and Menus on the device are not very responsive and definitely not intuitive. There are also misspellings of the options. When you do make a selection, it doesn’t appear to “stick”.5. Never could get the Closed Captions to appear even though I selected them to appear using the Menu. and the DVD had them.6. My DVD offered PLAY ALL or EPISODES. When I used the Arrows on the device to select Episodes, the machine just defaulted back to the Main Screen for the DVD again.Ughhhh! Back to the drawing board.

Nice DVD player. I would buy it again.
I purchased the Wonnie 17.9″ DVD player to use on long road trips and while camping. I have watched 3 movies at home to test it out. The picture quality is nice and it is easy to use. I often have to stop the movie before its over and I love that it starts up just where I left off. I needed help changing the language to English so I emailed customer service. I was pleasantly surprised to get a very kind, helpful and prompt response from Tia that ended in resolution of the problem. My grand kids think it’s very cool that they do not need wifi to watch a movie (haha) and they love the large screen. The optional head phones may be a good addition there have been times I struggled to make out the dialog even at max volume. That said, my ears don’t work as well as they used to. I watched one complete movie and the battery held out without any problems at all. The unit comes with a car charger so I am not worried about it. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Very happy for the price, but the picture could be improved!
The battery life on this has impressed us the most. We didn’t have quite a full charge and it played two movies before it gave a warning that it would die. We really like the blue color of the unit. The remote seems pretty straight forward and the rotating screen is really nice when you are plugged into something or need to set the base on a certain platform and rotate the screen so it’s better viewing. The size was bigger than we anticipated as well, which was nice. However, the picture quality is not the best as seen in the photo submitted. It’s pretty dark and in a light environment might be pretty hard to see. We wish they would have made the unit smaller and increased the picture quality. There were some negative review regarding the sound, but we didn’t find this to hinder our experience, but also we were not in a very loud space or even in a car with surrounding noise interference. In a car or somewhere else, we would choose to use headphones anyway. Overall, considering the price, this was a solid purchase.

Really surprsied this was a better picture than My mac laptop! I did not want to keep using my computer as a dvd player, so I bought this and considering the price including the 3 year warranty it is perfect for My needs. It is light and cheaply made so we will see how long it lasts. 🙂

Decent DVD player at a reasonable price. Great customer support from seller!!!!
My family has used this DVD player almost daily for over 6 months now and am happy with its performance. It is a little heavier than your standard portable DVD player, but it is also almost twice the size of a standard player. The larger screen has been nice to have, especially since we usually have several people watching a movie on it at the same time. I rated it as a 4 because we did have an issue with the screen portion not being able to support its own weight, resulting in the screen flopping backwards (which made it impossible to watch anything on it without having to prop it up against something). I had contacted Assurant (had purchased a protection plan from them), and after being denied any sort of assistance because they said the problem was a “physical” issue and not a mechanical issue, I got in contact with Wonnie (the seller) to see if they could help – since the DVD player was still under manufacturer warranty. Wonnie customer service was amazing – fast response to my emails and mailed me out a brand new DVD player to replace the defective one (at no charge to me). I would recommend this DVD player to anyone and would like buyers to not be afraid to purchase Wonnie products, as they really do want their customers to be happy with their products!!!

Bought for travel purposes. After a couple of weeks using it at home, the dvd picture would freeze when advancing the play. I’d have to stop play and start the disk over from the beginning. Updated from three to five stars
READ THE UPDATEI really like this product and use it weekly on road trips however one of the main reasons I got it was to connect and use other products that should connect with the AV cables. The provided ports do not fit any cables I have. If this was not such an issue I would easily give it a 4.5 stars even though the remote never worked and the USB port is picky as to what it will actually playUpdate: This company REALLY stands behind their product! Within 24 hours of me leaving a three star review they contacted me and we fixed the issue!! 100% a five star product and company! Some of the fastest and most professional customer service I have ever dealt with! If you’re looking for a product like this Buy It From These Guys!!!! Thank you for being such a wonderful company!!!

great player EXCEPT 1 major flaw
Great picture. Love that it will remember where I finished watching the DVD should I take a break from the movie. One major flaw and I am very proficient with video files. This DVD will not play an MP4 file ( one of the two most universal video files ) unless the resolution of the video file is so low that you can see pixels in the display . I dont care for watching vids with low resolution. When trying to watch a video with a sharper resolution ( than the lowest ) you will hear the audio file but no video file will play. Sometimes NEITHER will come through or the DVD player will simply not recognize the video file. This is with both using the USB and the media card slot on the side. O how wonderful this device would be if would play sharp video files. My projector does, my computers do, my TV does, But NOT this dvd player. I also wish the players battery was replaceable but it is not, so when the batteries life runs out , I suppose I will have to leave it connected to the power supply to continue using it…. I hope.

Been using it on and off for over a year now – UPDATE
**Update** The company reached out to me after my review and gave me a full refund for not being completely satisfied, after a year of using this DVD player! Really great company that wants their customers to be happy with their products.I waited a year to write this because I didn’t know how it would hold up over time. Honestly, it has held up pretty nicely. I don’t go throwing it around or anything though. The sound quality could be better or at least have some sort of option to connect external speakers for those of us who like louder speakers and I wish the ports had plugs to keep out dust especially since this is meant to be portable. I really like that it has slots on the back so it can be hung on the wall and comes with a remote, wall charger and car charger. It still holds a charge really nicely but that could be because I use it plugged in and rarely use it on just battery power. All in all I think it’s nice and very similar to something you’d get at a place like Walmart for around the same price.

EXCELLENT PORTABLE DVD PLAYER!
I was very surprised by the high quality of the Wonnie 17.5″ dvd player. The large size screen makes watching movies very comfortable for viewing! On smaller portable dvd players, the small screen size makes it look like you’re watching movies on an ipad. The picture is sharp and clear, another pleasant surprise. The audio goes up to 20. I listen to it at 10, and it is plenty loud! I got this in blue and it looks very nice. The dvd player is pretty heavy, to support the large screen, as should be expected. It would be pretty big to carry around as a portable, but you can if you don’t mind the size.I only tested the battery to 3 hours, so I don’t know how long it will actually go on a charge. The remote control works great also. It has a USB port, which is a nice extra. It also has an SD card slot!If someone is bed ridden at home or in a nursing home, this dvd player would be a wonderful gift for them! Children would love it at home or in the car. There is a car charger attachment for that.I have had a few portable dvd players, but this is the best out of all of them.I am extremely pleased with it. I can’t think of anything I don’t like about it. I highly recommend this Wonnie dvd player!

Not region free (Update/upgrade)
I have a stack of over 30 DVDs that will not play on this player. I get a message saying that the DVD is incompatible with the region. All DVDs have been purchased via Amazon, and are for the US. The description says lifetime product support, but I can’t get there. Not happy.Update: I finally heard back from the company, and they assisted via a series of emails, in correcting the issue to my satisfaction. I’ll upgrade to 4 stars for the (finally) excellent customer service.

Updated review. Everyone gets a 2nd chance
We were contacted by the Wonnie customer service team shortly after leaving our first review. They worked out arrangements for us to get a replacement machine. We are very happy with the new machine, it works great. We love the size of the screen, we can set it on the dash of the truck if waiting out a rain storm or trying to warm up. I am grateful for Lena’s persistence and positive attitude in working with us to get a new DVD player.the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is for the sound. The sound isn’t terrible, but for music we are thinking about trying an external speaker. We bought this for a camping trip. Worked great at home while we learned to use it, and on the road until we had to charge it. We only used it on battery power on the campout. The first time we tried to charge it on the road it would give us only the blue power light. Never the green charging light. It never worked again, not even plugged in. We’d like to try one more time, in case this was just a fluke, but are outside of our return window.

Died After 3 Days
July 2021 Update:I am shocked to see this product still being sold! The manufacturer contacted me multiple times after my review below posted, each time offering me a larger sum of money in exchange for deleting my review. I repeatedly replied that all I wanted was a product that worked. My review was entirely factual to my experience, and I kept asking them to stop contacting me and trying to buy me off. I can’t be bribed. Offering money to alter or post reviews is a violation of Amazon’s rules and grounds for immediate banning from the site. I reported the violation to Amazon, yet here they are still selling this product. Hopefully they used my feedback to produce a better product. My story ends well as I came across a Panasonic player at Walmart that was well made, about $25 cheaper, and my Mom has been happily using it for the last two months.* * * * * * * * * *This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my Mom, a senior citizen. I thought I had done my research. What drew me to it was the large simple buttons on the player itself. I felt it would be easy for someone with arthritis and sight issues to use. Before making my purchase decision, I crosschecked reviews on senior consumer websites and they agreed the Wonnie was a good fit for people 65+. And it was!!…for a total of three days.It was much lighter than I expected it to be, but I felt that was a positive for my Mom. I showed her how the screen could rotate and be folded into more of a tablet if she wanted, but cautioned her to gently rotate the screen as it did seem a bit flimsy. As others have said, that puts the speakers on the back side of the unit. But the volume can be turned up higher to compensate (although others have complained about the audio quality/volume).I first installed a DVD from the 1980s and it looked horrible on the screen and sounded bad as well. A 2005 movie looked better, although I agree with other reviews that the screen is quite dark. I could not find a way to adjust the brightness. Very bad design flaw, you’d think this would be standard on all players. My Mom quickly understood how to use the player and happily used it to watch a couple movies. She really was loving her new gift until day 4, when it would not turn on no matter what she did. She called to let me know, “Wonnie died.” She was sure she had forgotten something I had told her.She had not. Unbelievable that after only three days, Wonnie would no longer turn on! We did the troubleshooting and tried using the remote’s buttons based on another’s review that said DVDs and CDs only worked with the remote control. Decided maybe it was the power cord. It also came with a car charger, so I decided to give that a try. Much to my surprise, Wonnie came to life again when I plugged the car charger cord into it. Much to my dismay a nasty chemical/electrical smell filled my car.I did put a DVD in and it played, but there is not much doubt that Wonnie has major electrical/battery issues. The information on page 3 of the manual under “Maintenance and Long-Term Use” is telling. The second item says “If the battery begins to leak fluids, discharge acid buildup around the terminal, or gives off a smell, please dispose of the battery immediately following proper safety measures.” Of course right after that the instructions say: “NOTE: The built-in high capacity rechargeable batteries must only be removed or replaced by a professional. Do not attempt to do yourself.” See my photo #3.I am returning this product. I don’t feel it is safely made, but more importantly the screen’s darkness will be a problem for my Mom in the future. Sadly I have not really been able to find a UL rated portable DVD player or even a recognizable name brand one. Every one I have researched on Amazon seem to share many of the same problems as the Wonnie. Some even appear to be the Wonnie with just a different name on it. Consider yourself warned.

Sound volume
Not enough volume, can’t hear it from a few feet away, can’t turn volume up except to its max. No headphone jack. No place to add a little speaker for volume.

Great player for the price!
I love this player, even though the remote has too many buttons for my needs.I have issues trying to remember how to pause with out starting over on Ancient Aliens, the main reason I bought it. They provide history that would cost Millions to rediscover on your own. And their history lessons far exceed college history lessons unless you go 5 doctorates in anthropology, archeology, paleontology, and physics x 5 directions.A nice feature when I forget how to pause properly, is 32x to get back to the preferred chapter point, maybe 2-3 minutes with a fast picture review! I like it as well as if I played in on a PC. The battery is awesome, the screen twist mechanism is awesome. I really would buy a half dozen if I needed that many.

Used it once – now it doesn’t work – waiting for replacement – replacement received!!
Bought it for our cabin that does not have internet or cable tv. Watched one of my favorite movies a while ago and it seemed fine. About 3 months later I tried to watch a movie. It doesn’t work anymore. I put the DVD in, it spins for a while, then stops and says “no disc” or something like that. Now it is e-trash!!!—–I have been contacted by the seller. They say they will send a replacement or refund… I have given them a provisional 3 stars pending their making good on that promise to me….—–7/19/2023I received a replacement – no charge, no hassle. Seller is standing behind his/her product which I really appreciate. I have not had a chance to try the new one yet but I am very happy with the seller’s response.

The PROS and CONS to consider!
Overall, this is a solid little machine. It comes with the main DVD player, a remote, wall charger with multiple plug styles, car charger, and AV cable. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, but I do have a few comments of what could be improved. Here are some pros and cons to consider before buying.PROSScreen size is really large and the picture quality is really quite good.I love that the screen rotates around and folds flat. The sound was loud enough, but not too loud to be annoying. The price was fair. I paid about 117 and was surprised by the quality.Battery life is good. Right out of the box I watched “The Bourne Sepremacy” movie in full.No skipping on the DVD. I tried hard and couldn’t get the DVD to skip.Light weight for the size. It is larger than my laptop, but half the weight.Connects to TV with included AV cable.CONSThere were two tiny damaged pixels on my screen. Almost unnoticeable except on black and other dark screens (see last picture).I can’t figure out how to change the language to English. No HDMI hookup and newer TVs only use that format.Screen reflects more light than I would like so the glare was bad in a few spots, luckily it is portable so you just move around.Although the quality is really good, it “feels” a little cheap in design and material, but that is only my opinion.SummaryI don’t know how popular these portable DVD players are nowadays, but this one is great for the price. If it wasn’t for the small issue with the little pixels and the problem I am having with the language settings, then this would be a 5 star for sure. Those two issues aren’t enough to send it back though so I look forward to using this often. I hope you enjoy yours as well.

Great customer service !!!
Update : I changed my rating to 4 stars. After I posted a review stating my dissatisfaction at receiving a defective unit, I was contacted by the companys customer service department and they took full responsibility of the situation and assured me that they would do whatever they could to make sure i was happy. That meant a lot to me and because they back up their products with great customer service,I wont hesitate to order from this company again. 5 stars for customer service !!Original Review : Everything about this player is great — large screen, good volume, lots of options. But the one thing that mattered to me was that it should be portable to take on flights. I purchased it during the prime day sale in july as a back up for when our current DVD player died and didnt have a chance to use it until now(October). And when i did, my kids started complaining that the battery doesnt last. I tried charging it multiple times. The cord it comes with is way shorter than my previous DVD’s cord and its a hassle to keep it plugged in and doesnt really suit my needs. But when i went to return/exchange it, im only being returned 3/4th of the purchase price. So im definitely NOT happy and no way to reach the seller or the manufacturer WONNIE. And it supposedly carries a 12 month warranty !!! Junk !!

Great Portable DVD player!
I really like this portable DVD player. It’s a little slow, but that’s okay… I think it’s just thinking. So far it works great!

Pleasant Surprise
Ok I just got this recently so will have to update later in order to be fair, but my first impressions after 12 hours of use are as follows: 1-The screen is HUGE for a portable DVD player, which is what I wanted. This player is the same size as a laptop. It rotates smoothly on its axis, raises easily for viewing – isn’t the best picture right up close but is sharp and clear enough to see from across the room. This would work well in a bedroom, you can put it on a dresser and see the movies from the bed. Great solution if you don’t want your kids watching unsupervised garbage. Because I got this for myself to use during surgical recovery time, that was my first thought. After that though was the idea of using this with my grandson during visits and also playing movies through a television set. Once I saw the memory card reader I see that this would be a very nice item to have at the hunting shack or cabin to use for trailcam pictures and evening entertainment during bad weather.2- The unit is lightweight and fits in most laptop bags; also it comes with electrical cable, cigarette lighter cord and AV cables so you can use it as a dvd player through a TV set. There is also a choice to turn the power off on the screen in that case and yet keep playing the movies. There is ALSO a memory card reader and a USB drive port.3- The sound is good and the controls are clearly marked. You don’t absolutely NEED the remote to operate the unit unless you want to get into the more complicated choices. Which brings me to the remote. It operates well once you realize you have to point it at just one point on the front bottom of the unit. If the player is sitting on a sleeping bag, pillows or blankets, you may have to tilt it back a bit to use the remote. Although the remote works fine, its just as tiny as remotes for the small 10″ dvd players and doesnt impress me much. I’m an older person with bifocals and the buttons take good light and a couple of seconds to readAll in all I like this dvd player so far. The low price and high reviews drew me and the 6 hour battery life led me to make the choice. Its an off brand but I was pleasantly surprised. Today will be running this unit until the battery dies to determine true playing time and will update my review after a few weeks of use. Frankly this is better than I expected. It was the biggest dvd player with a screen I could find for this price so I didn’t think it would be as nice as it is.

Read up on the functions of the machine just to be clear. It’s very easy to use.
I use this mostly to view DVDs. This item is easy to use, the picture and audio are quite clear, and I am very happy with my purchase!

Just The Entertainment Ticket
Loving this player. Easy to use and displays a great picture with enough screen to enjoy the movies. Not extreme heavy so it’s easily moved. I really wish it had built on handles, but for the price, oh well. Battery Time is about 5hrs though. Still A Good Buy

Charges for a several hour playback!
This can be charged for hours of dvd watching. Adjustments for picture brightness capabilities. The remote though has too many buttons and should be modified so as to be more user friendly.

Portable dvd player ease
I do like this player and like being able to adjust the screen brightness, sharpness, contrast, etc. it has worked very well until just now when I had been watching seasons of a show and it won’t allow season 6 of this series to be played. The descriptions online say this player is compatible with all regions and this specific 4 disc set gives a message by Wonnie the player is incompatible with the region marker of this disc. This is very frustrating.

Sound
I bought it to listen to CD’s since we have over 200 and would love for them to be portable. The sound quality is less than desirable. There are a lot of echoes and vibrations so if you re playing CD’s plan on playing it very soft.

Sound of DVD playing was too loud!!
The player intself seemed fined. Started playing a dvd in it and it looked as expected. Quality seemed ok. However, you could hear the dvd spinning inside almost as loud as the movie itself. It would only be ok for someone listening on headphones and haviong no one around to hear the dvd spinning. I have a handicapped son who sits next to me in bed while listening on headphones, and from my first test of this player, I know I would be hearing the dvd spinning the entire time he is watching.
