Good capacity
Have been using it for a month, and works fine. Another one I bought of a different brand crapped out in two weeks, so thus far, this one is better. The only annoyance is a temperature control behind the unit, which means you have to empty it and move it if you want to change the temperature. Appears to be well made, and aside from the temperature control, well designed. Good capacity for it’s size.

Works great…until it doesn’t.
This worked fine for 2 years, then simply gave out for unknown reasons.I walked in and found it sitting in a puddle. I wondered whether I had accidentally left the freezer door open but nope, it was firmly shut. I opened the door and, sure enough, all the food had long since thawed. There had been no power outages or electrical failures at home and it wasn’t close to overpacked; something about the freezer just failed.I paid quite a bit less than what it’s currently going for but it’s still too much for only two years, especially considering that I lost $150 worth of food that spoiled. Add an hour cleaning water off the floor that was now under the washer, dryer, etc, and what a pain!Of course, the warranty is for only a year so I’m totally out of options. Buyer beware.

Dependable
This is a late review since I bought this in 2019 exactly 4 years ago this month and was looking for another one for another room. Just wanted to mention that this freezer is still working very well. I would not hesitate to purchase this.

Small but powerful
I bought this for a small amount of frozen meat while moving in 100+ heat. I have only used it indoors and will travel with it plugged in to my truck outlet. The lock keeps the door from opening more than a couple inches but will not keep it completely sealed. Push the key and turn several times to engage the lock.

Works great! A little small, but I bought it to keep ice cream in my garage outside for the summer months and didn’t want to spend much for that convenience. No complaints other than the usable interior size.

Cools fast!
This is a well-made freezer. The door closes very securely ensuring high efficiency. Cools very fast too. I bought it to store frozen fish from a fishing trip and everything is staying frozen. It is also very quiet.

Perfect for anyone who is sick of their roommates stealing their frozen dinners
I live in a place with a shared fridge/freezer, and recently one of my roommates has been stealing and eating my frozen dinners and fancy ice cream. This really, really annoys me- it messed up both my budget and my meal planning. After a few weeks of frustration (and failing to find a way to hide my food well enough to keep the problem roomie from eating it), I purchased this mini freezer which is lockable as well as small enough to fit under the desk in my bedroom. It’s compact, reasonably quiet, keeps things frozen, and holds a surprising amount of stuff. Currently I have 8 frozen dinners (7 boxes, 1 bowl), some frozen meatballs and sausage, a pint of ice cream, several frozen desserts, and the included mini ice-cube tray in the freezer- and there is still room for more! I wouldn’t suggest this item for a large family, but for a small household of 1 or 2 adults it’s a solid option. And now I get to actually EAT the food I purchase- I wish I’d bought this weeks ago instead of trying to hide my gelato inside an empty frozen vegetable bag. So far so good, I’ll report back if/when things change and/or the freezer stops working.

Good until it wasn’t, until it was! – GREAT Customer Service
I bought this freezer in July 2021, when it was installed I noticed it was quite loud, but put it down to the size as I have never owned a fridge or freezer this small. I had to be away from home for several weeks due to ill health. When I returned home an awful smell, met me at my front door. I couldn’t figure out where it came from, until I went to where this freezer was kept. It had stopped working and everything inside had spoilt. I ended up throwing out $100’s of dollars worth of food. After cleaning the floor from the thawed liquid and the freezer, it took DAYS to get the smell out.I immediately contacted customer service to have the issue resolved as it was will within a year of being purchased. After opening a case and answering a few questions, they replaced the unit free of charge. The process from calling customer service to receiving the replacement took less than 10 days. Which was AMAZING!Every communication with Customer Service was extremely positive. I would highly recommend the company and their products.

Frosty!
I purchased this unit based on it’s size to fit under a shelf in our laundry room. The freezer itself works fine, it’s the door seal that is the problem. No matter what I do, I cannot seem to get the seal to close all the way around, which results in a great amount of frost inside the freezer. I discovered the problem within 24 hours of plugging the freezer in and found the issue to the be the seal along the bottom. For a while I thought I had the problem solved after pulling everything out, defrosting, and making sure the inside was completely dry, but within a matter of days the issue was back again. I’m putting up with this for the time being, but sooner or later I’m going to have to do something about the seal. As far as sending it back for a replacement, I’m afraid my confidence in the company is somewhat less than optimal.Update as of June, 2021As I stated in my original review, there was a problem with the seal on the door of this freezer. The ice inside got so bad that I finally had no more room to put anything in the freezer, so I cleaned it out and defrosted it for a second time. This time I removed the freezer to the back porch and after it dried out put it up on a table and took a much better look at the situation. What I found was that the hole in the bottom of the freezer door was not inserted onto the hinge pin. Instead the bottom of the door was jammed on top of the pin, so that it would still rotate open and closed, but it would not allow the bottom seal to work properly. This looked like an easy fix, but when I put the door back on the hinge where it belonged, the door did seal, but it also dropped down every time it was opened. Three metal washers on the bottom hinge pin later, and the door was finally working as it should. I brought it back in the house and let it sit unplugged for 24 hours to allow any bubbles in the coolant to dissipate. I then plugged it back in and 24 hours after that opened it to find it frost free except for a slight surface film which was probably due to moisture in the freezer when I closed it back up. Since that time (about 10 days) I’ve had food back in the freezer and it continues to remain frost free.To sum it up, the freezer does work as it should, when it’s put together properly. This unit was apparently not assembled properly, (missing a spacer on the bottom hinge pin and the door not fastened properly) and it was not inspected properly before leaving the factory. I’m hoping that others who purchase this item will not have any issues, but if they do, hopefully they are issues that can be relatively easily fixed.

A great little unit.
We really like the size and simplicity of this freezer. We needed extra space for our frozen meats, vegetables, and leftovers and so far, things are working out great. When the item first arrived it was missing one of the leveling legs. I contacted the company via email and received a response within a day. They sent me a new part but it was the wrong one. I contacted the company again via email and was first told that we were sent the right part. Once I insisted that it wasn’t…the screw was just a hair or so too big…and sent photos, we were sent another part which fits perfectly. Because of this, we couldn’t use the freezer for the first 2 weeks. All in all, we are happy with the unit and the customer service.

Good so far
We got this about two weeks ago. slight dent but not enough to return. The top paint is very sensitive, scratched it just using a measuring tape. But the freezer itself works well. Very little frost so far. Left it on the default setting of 3 and it stays around 2 degrees. One tip I found to help keep the frost down was to freeze items in my freezer in the fridge so they are solid before I put them in here, that limits the moisture. I also try not to open it to often to limit the moisture in the air. Not that we get a lot of moisture normally in Southern California. Its pretty quiet most of the time, a small click every now and then but that’s about it.

So far so good. Plan on using it in my RV outside kitchen. Matches our smaller frig that is also there perfectly. We purchased a power inverter as well so it will “hopefully” stay frozen during travel; full electric.Keeping fingers crossed. Its perfect size and holds quite a bit of extra items. I can fit easily, 4 loaves of my low carb bread along w/tub of smart carb ice cream. Woohoo! ;-DPretty sure I can still add more. LOL

Poor Insulation: How we compensate
We bought this 1.1 cubic foot, 79-watt freezer to use with a solar power system off-grid by freezing foods (mainly meat) during the day and keeping it frozen without power each night to save on stored power. I tested it for this and found that two pints of water on the bottom floor of this freezer froze and reached 0.3 degrees F after 12 hours, but a pint of water on the wire shelf above only reached 20 degrees after 24 hours. Then with the freezer off for 12 hours, only an ice cube-sized amount of ice was left in the container on the shelf, and the freezer floor ice was about 20% melted. This failed our needs, so I designed a box to nest inside using sheets of ½” foil-backed polyurethane insulation: minimum of two sheets for each wall, four at top and three at back against the compressor compartment. The box is 6.5”x9.5”x13” long, 4”x6.5”x11” inside, holds 6 lbs, and slides in and out with the drip pan. Food freezes coldest (0 to 6 degrees F) with the insulated top off and the box upside down on the drip pan in contact with the actively cooled floor. At night without power, the best orientation of the box is upright with the top on. In this configuration, food inside the box does not thaw overnight. The box cuts about 70 amp-hours of 12v battery drain to our 115v inverter every night, and meat doesn’t spoil between weekly shopping trips. In normal continuous operation, only the floor area below shelf level of our freezer is suitable for long term food storage. The upper portion is OK for short term frozen goods (fine for ice or soft ice cream), since no contents there go below 19 degrees F with the freezer always on. Another concern with the freezer’s apparent lack of insulation would be power outages longer than a few hours, based on the melting we observed after 12 hours off (ambient home temp was 76 degrees). Otherwise, it seems to be a good little freezer: it’s very quiet, uses little power and doesn’t take up much room.

I like this mini freezer. It’s perfect! I freeze all my meals and ice cubes in it. I recommend it but I think maybe a bigger one is better if you freeze your meals for the months.

Specs you should Know
You need 6 inches space on the sides on the backIt needs to be installed on a hard floor and not on a carpetDo not plan on using an extension cord, and you need the three prong type of plug in.It is important that you set it up to be level, so you will need a level to be sure of that. There is a mechanism on the legs that help you do that.I have not found the temperature control yet, but it keeps the freezer quite cold.I have not had it long enough to tell whether it is a 4 or 5 star, so just picked the trend.

Great Addition to Illicit Home Laboratory and for Storing Ice Cream
I do a lot of “cooking” and “baking” at home, if you know what I mean. This freezer is perfect for keeping certain reagents – I mean “ice cream flavors” – at around 32 F. While it is not a rated lab-grade product, as long as your exhaust hood is working you don’t have to worry about ignition of gases around the exposed electrical parts in the rear. This goes perfectly with my Schlenk line and rotavap in terms of style and decor.

Worth the money…
I bought this because I needed something for longer camping trips and can’t afford a dedicated camping freezer/fridge. I really like it. It’s big enough to be useful but it’s not so big that it won’t fit in my car, Nissan Altima, with all the rest of my gear, with a roof box, for a week and a half with a kid still in a carseat. I would honestly recommend buying something like this, even if you don’t want this particular one, instead of just for camping because it’s been awesome for overflow in the house. No real issues with frost. I have had it for a while now and it’s been fantastic. It even has a lock on it so you can chain it to a tree and lock it up or you can put stuff in it you don’t want people messing with in it. Like medicine type things. I’m not sure what meds can go in a freezer but you can’t open it without the key if you lock it. I recommend it. I did buy a drip pan to put under it but there’s been no drippings.

Good Small Freezer
The freezer arrived in prestine condtion with no damage, scratches, dents. Jose G. at Whynter has helped me with purchases over the phone with Whynter products. The freezer is well made with a good door seal. It will freeze set on 3 to 0 degrees F easliy. Do not put food, water bottles, etc over 2 to 3 pounds at ambeint temperture because it will take a long time to bring the temp down. It is a small freezer not made to put 20 pounds of food at 70 to 80 degrees F in it all at once. Something at 50 degrees and 15 pounds may take 24 hours as an example. The unit is made for Whynter by Midea to Whynters specifications. I chose the Whynter branded name because I like the quality that Whynter puts into their products. Whynter is a very good US company or it was last I checked that manufacturers appliances. I have a dual hose floor portable AC from Whynter, and it runs very well. The freezer must be set in a temperature zone of 50 to 90 degrees F. The shelves have enough room for anything a person would want in a small freezer. I have had it running now for 7 days. It doesn’t make much noise at all. If you want a small, well built 3.0 cu ft freezer, purchase this one. Each shelf has a cooling coil under it. The botome shelf has a coils and under it a basket and below the basket another cooling coil.

Much needed, working well but questionable used condition/damage!
I needed a separate freezer as I have an enormous garden and chop/freeze a lot of produce, herbs, etc and I’ve always been very limited in my current rental house with a small top freezer part of the fridge. This gives me breathing room and lets me stock up more and have less grocery trips. It arrived standing in the right direction, I was looking all over for tape to cut but once the two hard plastic wraps were off (one was off and hanging when it was delivered), you just grab the box and lift straight up and it leaves the freezer in packaging on a cardboard and foam base.It appeared well packaged but there was significant scuffs and scratches on top and some sides, a dent from a sharp object on the top, a gouge/hole in the finish on one side (see pic) and the front (1 of 2) leveling foot was completely bent and at a 30-40 degree angle so it doesn’t sit flat…Door was taped shut and inside looked new/spic and span but after looking back at the box (4 shipping labels, two to two different people in different states), I’m really disappointed the outside is so messed up. I also have no idea what the 3 inch foil sticker covering an odd round bulge in the back is for). All the damage seems cosmetic except the leveling foot which makes it wobbly even though I eventually put wobble wedges under 4 points to get it as steady as possible. The freezer cooled nicely, I have no frost or anything at this point though it is humid out and in my house for the past week. It was set at setting 5 (1 is the warmest, 6 the coldest), and ice cream is firm but not impossible to scoop so it’s just right. The shelves are surprisingly roomy (the interior space is closer to exterior size than I had imagined), and the bin is large and well made.

Why on earth would you put an unremovable warning sticker right on the front?
There is a warning sticker that will not come off right on the front. It looks terrible. I am afraid to use chemicals to remove it as it could ruin this finish. I understand it can be important but I do not have small children!! Did it have to be placed in the front??? Other than that, I love it!

Really Nice Freezer, Quiet, Gets Cold Quickly, & Well Packed
I bought this as a backup (for my basement) to my new main kitchen refrigerator/freezer, as my last one failed abruptly. I have another small refrigerator + freezer in the basemewnt as well, which unfortunately has a pretty small freezer. This Whynter looks good and got down to temperature very quickly, and it’s quiet. I was REALLY impressed with how Whynter packaged it. My other small refrig/freezer arrived with a couple of large dents and the box fell apart when I opened it (I bought from a big box store and had it delivered). This Whynter unit arrived in a sturdy box banded with plastic straps. I cut the straps and the box lifted off the base. However, underneath was a second Whynter boix, also banded to its base. I cut the straps and lifted the box off of that, and the appliance was packed with some styrofoam and plastic pads, and all loose parts were secured with tape. Really appreciate the extra affort they took to secure this, as I usually hesitate from ordering appliances online, because they tend to get dented often in shipping. Very pleased with this item, how it arrived, and how it performs.

Love this freezer!
This is an excellent freezer. It maintains the temperature nicely and is energy efficient and works great as a second freezer for overflow from your main freezer. It does make the typical noises that any freezer would make when it turns on and is running, but nothing out of the ordinary. It’s also nice to look at and is not too heavy, so it was easy to move it to the location I wanted it at.The one problem I had is it comes with a white sticker on the front warning about child danger that is very difficult to get off. When you initially try to peel it off, it doesn’t fully come off and leaves behind lots of sticky residue. I spent an hour scrubbing it with soap and water and actually had to resort to scraping off the residue with my fingernail, all the while hoping that I didn’t scratch the finish, which thankfully I didn’t. After much effort, I was finally able to get all of the residue off, but it was a lot of work. It was worth it though as I certainly didn’t want to look at this silly sticker every day and the sticker is totally unnecessary to begin with as EVERYONE knows the freezer would present a danger to a child, so what’s the point? At the very least, if Whynter, the manufacturer, feels the need to put this dumb sticker on it, they should put one on that is EASY TO PEEL OFF and doesn’t leave loads of residue behind.

Product damaged but works.
When I received it the box was visibly beat up on the corners of exterior box and a hole in the side. Only one plastic band was around it where there should have been 2 plastic bands. The damages on the freezer went through 2 layers of thick cardboard. Pictures included. A dent on the left side from a visible hole through both cardboard. A top dent on the corner back of the freezer and another denting on the right side corner rear of freezer. The foot peg piece that broke off happen to be in the bottom of the cardboard box. Obviously this unit was mishandled or not secure in trans port. I did not plug in the freezer for 4 days to insure that the freezer/freon will operate correctly.Very disappointed of the handling and the damaged of the unit. It does works but appliances should be better taken care of they are fragile even if doubled in cardboard. Any other appliance store I would purchase this from would give a discount for the damage to it, even if it operates.

Arrived damaged two times. but good unit
Overall I like this unit. It is nice looking, compact, and provides even cooling. It was a little frustrating to find shipping damage twice. The first one had to be returned because of substantial damage to the frame near the compressor. The replacement unit arrived with a buckle in the upper rear corner. Amazon made a price adjustment that we could live with and I give Amazon credit for responsive customer service. The temperature control is located behind the freezer which is not convenient so you have to move the whole unit to adjust. The shelves are not adjustable because they are integrated with the cooling coils. It is probably a worthwhile tradeoff for efficient cooling, but limits the size of what you can store. If you can get one that does not get damaged in shipping, then I have no problem recommending it.

Great garage ready freezer addition
I wanted a compact way to store more frozen products in the garage and this fit the bill. It works fine and keeps everything solidly frozen. Be aware that this freezer has refrigerated shelves that circulate coolant through the shelf so the shelf position can’t be adjusted. Also, note that the garage location is in coastal Southern California so the temperature is fairly moderate. If you’re in a much hotter area, you may need to compare the rated operating temperatures for the freezer and your garage temperature.

So far, I’m a fan.
I required a quality, small freezer for the bar area in my man cave. I need it to store/make ice (natch) and to store low ABV liquors (vemouths, etc.) that one would normally be stored in the refrigerator. Thus, I required a freezer that could keep a stable temperature in teh range of +5 to +10 F. Thus, ice would freeze (more slowly than -10F obviously) and the low-ABV liquor would NOT freeze. Thus far, I’m happy with this unit. I put a digital tracking thermometer in it and it is working like a champ – cycling between about 6.4F and 7.8F like clockwork (absent opening the door, of course).Did a ton of research across units and this is the only one that seemed possibly “up to snuff” for me. I’ll update this if things go sideways.PS: Yes, it came with a couple super super minor dings from shipping – but nothing was broken and it’s fully operational. Nobody will ever notice the aesthetic issues (matte-ish black unit). If you need perfect aesthetics, buy it local and inspect it first.UPDATE: Seven months in and it’s a champ!UPDATE: 15 months in and zero drama, other than having to share with the boss now and then for temporary turkey storage :-).

the walls are thin and suck copious energy
I had been looking for a solar refrigerator for my Sprinter van for some time. I found that the 12 DC chest style freezers were not only way too expensive, but they were too large and did not hold much food stuff. I also looked at many dorm fridges that would work with my Xantrex Prowatt 2000 inverter, however, the walls are thin and suck copious energy. Other alternatives such as RV fridges cost too much. So, I purchased the Whynter freezer and gave it a trial run. The unit is very quite and uses very little power. I use (4) 6 volt golf cart batteries, ( 2) 100 watt solar panels and a Xantrex prowatt 2000 inverter. This system powers a 600 watt microwave and a 700 watt tea kettle along with the Whynter freezer. During day light hours, the batteries charge to 12.9 to 13.3 volts with the Whynter running. after all night operation, the battery charge will maybe drop down to 12.6 volts. This is predicated on normal usage of the microwave and tea kettle during road trips etc. . If we use the microwave alot, the fridge may pull down the batteries to 12.4 volts over night. But after a full day of sun, the batteries are again at over 12.9 volts . The best option for this freezer would be to use it to freeze (2) 1 gallon water jugs, and frozen foods. The freezer does not have to be run at night with frozen juggs of water in the bottom section of the unit. The walls on this unit are twice a thick as a dorm fridge. The door seal seals tightly also.Anyways. at $218 this fridge is top quality for the money. It has the reliability of a beater proof a/c powered dorm fridge and will provide trouble free use compared to 12 volt DC freezer chests that cost $700. It also holds more food stuff than a chest style freezer while using way less space, The only caveta is one has to run an inverter 24/7 which is not a problem. The best solar fridge set up for a Sprinter van is as follows:(2) solar word 315 watt panels(4) 235 amp hour 6 volt costco gold cart batteries(1) Xantrex true sign wave prowatt 2000 inverter(1) 40 amp xantrex battery charge controllerThe Whynter freezer can be converted to a fridge with a digital tstat plug in controller. This freezer is twice as thick as a dorm fridge and hold the cold like a champ.

Ideal for the person who has chronic pain and needs ice packs close by…
I couldn’t be happier with this Freezer! I am disabled have dealt with chronic pain constantly since a child. Because of this condition I am always looking for ice packs to help ease the pain. When you are in my situation and this has been going on for decades you find yourself at the mercy of others to help you with many of your daily duties. Pain has no schedule and comes when you least expect it. My issue is when the pain comes on in the middle of the night that I would find it hard to ask someone to grab me an ice pack from the freezer downstairs. I never wanted to be a bother and would then just deal with the pain. Now since my daughter convinced me that a bit more independence would be good for my soul, we searched and found this Whynter CUF-210SS Energy Star Upright Freezer. Now I was sceptical of the high ratings since I was raised on “if its too good to be true, it usually is”.I ordered it anyway… Best decision ever!I now have a freezer that sits in my room just a few feet away and it is QUIET as can be. I had to check it a few times to make sure it was on…and yes it was! Large inside too. It holds my 3 ice packs almost perfectly. The ice pack size I use is..(8″x15″). It curls up on the edges a little but I am greatful it fits like it does. I recommend if you use it for this purpose, keep the ice pack as flat as can be on the very bottom shelf and it will freeze the fastest. I tend to rotate mine as I use them putting the already firm one from the bottom to the middle shelf and placing the used one on the very bottom. Having this indepence to care for myself in this way is so liberating. As much as my family wants to care for me, I am able to do this for myself.I love this item and would recommend it to all who need ice packs at a moments notice.PS. It holds a large box of Popsicles too..and I still have a whole shelf not even used yet.

It holds more than what you see. And cute ice cube tray. Really cute !
I like the small space it takes up and works very well. I use it for my dog food that I make, don’t know just yet maybe for meat products and vegetables. I moved to a new 50s and over brand new appartment and the refrigerator is small and freezer doesn’t hold what I need to freeze.

HUGE, low power consumption, GREAT
Can’t believe how LARGE this is- more than enough for my needs (I’d estimate large enough to hold at least a month’s worth of frozen food). Glad I didn’t get the 3 cubic feet one. It holds MUCH more than the photo (or video) suggests (more below). Well-packed, in perfect shape. Indeed, as the instructions assert, if the freezer isn’t level the door doesn’t stay closed. I’d never done this before, have poor manual dexterity and it took me quite a while to adjust the feet on each side, using a level horizontally and vertically (checking the side to side tilt and the front-to-back). It wasn’t difficult, but it required time and patience. The instructions say turn each foot (two at the front corners) to the right to lower, to the left to raise, which confused me a bit but it translates to counter-clockwise to lower, clockwise to raise. Once I finally got it level (I have a wonky surface in my travel trailer), the door closed tight. At one point I tried locking the door with the key and THAT did the trick, so if it ever becomes an issue (like when traveling) nice to have a surefire method for ensuring that the door remains closed.Note- I got it all situated, THEN read the part about initially setting the temperature knob to 5, the highest it will go, so had to pull it out again and set it (see photo of the back- the white round dial on the left). SO, all ready to go, plugged it in, and put in an ice cube tray of water. It took less than TWO hours to freeze solid! (I read reviews of other freezers that said it took overnight for ice to freeze initially). To give you an idea of what can fit in the freezer (I experimented), it can hold 39 full-size Banquet TV dinners + 2 smaller packages, like Lean Cuisines, + 4 small frozen juice containers + 8 smallish burritos, like Don Jose’s. I’ve checked repeatedly, and regarding a large bag of ice, there’s none of that slightly melting and then re-freezing again, which results in ice that’s congealed cubes and requires an icepick (my house fridge does that). Ice cubes remain frozen solid and separate, and ice cream is as hard as a rock, the way I like it.[UPDATE: The thing about the ice not slightly melting I’ve found is only true if you keep the ice on the bottom shelf. If you place it on the top shelf it does slightly melt, requiring an ice pick. But ice cream kept on the top shelf is always rock hard, as is other frozen food, so it seems the effect is slight and of little consequence, my house fridge/freezer does the same thing. I’ve kept chicken, fish, etc. frozen on the top shelf for months at a time, no ill effects whatsoever and cooks up fresh. Also, for what it’s worth, we had a power outage of 10 hours and everything still seemed to be frozen solid. After five months of use still LOVE the freezer.]I was unable to upload the video of the freezer from the Whynter site for some reason, you can go there to see it (but it also shows those little containers/cartons of Haagen Dazs-type icecream, which don’t provide an accurate impression of how MUCH it holds). You can also download the owner’s manual (note: the freezer is listed under refrigerators, for some reason). FYI, the owner’s manual states that the freezer draws 75 watts, .88 amps. It comes with a small paper sticker on the front that removes easily after soaking for a few minutes with dishwashing lotion. So quiet, you can barely tell when it’s running. And it’s BEAUTIFUL. Couldn’t be happier with this freezer! If it malfunctions or dies I’ll update my review.

Convenient Compact Freezer for Hybrid Work
Our company renovated all 3 floors right as Covid happened and we returned to the office in early 2022. The 2 freezers which were ordered back in 2020 are still on backorder which left us with only refrigerators. Since this will not work for ice cream which I do eat quite often I searched and purchased my own unit. The unit was delivered by Amazon in perfect condition and was very easy to set up. Just cut the straps and pull off the box top then the freezer can be lifted off the box base and set on the floor. It took all but 1 minute to unbox and set up.I’ve had this little freezer for 2 months now and it works great. Keeps all the ice cream frozen solid and tasty for morning or midday snacks. It’s very quiet and you won’t even notice that it’s running unless the compressor is kicking in. One thing I noticed is that ice does accumulate fairly quickly so scheduled defrosting seems to be set for the near future.I also asked how many containers of ice cream will fit in this freezer and the answers were totally useless so have posted a picture for reference. The ice cream is pint sized instead of 1/2 gallon.Whynter CUF-110B Energy Star 1.1 cubic feet Upright Freezer Stainless Steel door with Security Lock with Reversible Door – Black

Excellent value
Over 3 1/2 years ago, at the start of the pandemic, everyone, apparently, had the same idea than I did, but earlier. By the time it occurred to me it would be a good idea to buy a freezer, they were all sold out and few would deliver.I had not heard of the Whynter brand, but that’s all that was available, even on Amazon. The specs seemed good and reviews were okay, so I bought two.As it turns out, this is a really good product! And it’s worked without issue for over 3 1/2 years. And it’s well insulated, too, as we lost grid power a few times for up to 3 days (live in snow region, and lines break every so often). Those freezers kept our frozen food solidly frozen for 3 days without power–not unusual for a chest freezer, but it is unusual for an upright.

Compact with a fair amount of storage
Good little freezer for areas where space is at a premium. The door and build quality feels decently good. There’s a fair amount of space inside for frozen stuff. The only minor complaint that I have is that frost does develop inside the walls but it isn’t a large amount.

Works great
The little freezer works well. I have had it for 3 months. There is a tiny bit of frost, but not much. It holds quite a bit. The door seal is very tight. It was slightly damaged in transit, as many other reviewers have said. The plastic coating was torn in a small area on one side and the styrofoam packaging left imprints on the top, so if you want it to look perfect, you better buy in store and transport it yourself. If you can live with slightly less than perfect appearance, it’s a great little freezer. I like that the door opens from the front, so everything is easy to access.

I love how this fits under my counter and gives me extra freezer space at an affordable price! I also love how easy it was to change the side the door opens!

When it works…it works great. But don’t count on it lasting very long!!!!
I rarely post a review, but have come to learn that the negative ones can be the most important ones and I sure wished I’d trusted them. Nobody, including myself, complains when something is working good. But it’s when a product breaks down that you find out just how good the manufacturer is.I am out of warranty, and I received the freezer as a gift for a brand new bar I had built in my home. I understand things don’t last forever, however, you would hope it would be more than a year and a half to two years. Maybe this unit should be advertised as “May work great for a long time, or may not make it much past the warranty! Buyer beware!!” Bet their sales would go way down….. So, upon contacting Whynter, they were more than polite both on the phone, as well as in their emails. After giving me a list of possible problems, I responded that none of them applied and that my freezer was cold, but not freezing. After several more emails back and forth, I truly believe they did not read them, or didn’t care, as when I finally responded: “Since you: “take all feedback seriously” and “all positive and negative feedback is reviewed by Senior Management”, let them know that I agree with the other reviewers that said Whynter customer service was polite but completely useless and there are other manufacturers that truly care about their customers. ” Their response was: Thank you for your reply. We apologize that the unit is not freezing and appreciate the feedback. We would be happy to begin troubleshooting with you despite the unit being out of warranty.” They went on to give me some of the same instructions that I had already told them didn’t work!No matter how negative my feedback was to them about my freezer quitting working after being in the exact same location and untouched, they would just reply with the same things to check that I had checked and told them two emails ago. Even after telling them: “you can close out my ticket, as I just ordered another freezer so I would have it in time for the super bowl this Sunday. I would be really upset if I waited another day or two emailing back and forth and not have a freezer for the game.” They again replied thanking me and telling me to troubleshoot the same issues!I really wish I’d paid more attention to the other one and two star reviews on Amazon. I really hope I can help someone that is looking for a freezer and point them away from this terrible product. Why can’t a company just say they’re sorry and do the right thing?? After all, if their product is as good as they say it is, replacing a bad one such as mine should be a rare occurrence……

the used/acceptable 1.1cu ft…..
took me a month to decide to order this little 1.1cu.ft at such a lowered price, fearful of what shape it would be in. there was no description of why it was just ‘acceptable’ – the lowest sellable warehouse ranking. I imagined big dents, scapes, holes, messed-up wiring.what I received – packed like it had never been opened, but bottom of box was wet. keys, scraper and mini ice cube tray included. no dents or blemishes. the door opens left-to right and the freezer sat level right off the bat so didn’t have to mess with any tools (thankfully!) I let it sit upright unplugged for 14 hrs, then plugged it in – surprisingly made no sound at all. put in the included little ice tray to test, it froze quickly. it is filled with ‘expendable’ stuff for now (until I am confident) and continues to work fine – freezing hard set at 3.it is only about 8″ deep on the bottom shelf (the enclosed motor takes up the inside room at the back) but it’s nearly 18″ high and wide – enough space to give needed relief to the overjammed cross-top freezer on my refrigerator.the only issue I have come across – the door catches on the lock receptacle that sticks out on the center bottom when I close it even tho the freezer is level – maybe that is why it was deemed used/acceptable? I tilted it back from what looked to be level ever so slightly and now the door doesn’t catch. am past the 3-month mark and it is still working fine, silent with a bit of frost buildup. will ‘edit to add’ if any problems arise, but for now am so glad I finally ordered it!

Very Sturdy Mini Fridge
I haven’t had any issues with this mini fridge excluding the ice buildup inside. However they provide a clear instruction manual on how to properly clean the inside when it occurs. 5/5 stars!

So far…so Great!
I needed a freezer for My fishing Bait. This freezer has multiple ”best in class, reviews” on the internet…but…at $230.00,,, for Bait…… that is a bit much???Then I saw the scratch, and Dent was available under used, and BAM!!!!! 50% Off…WHAT!!!!!????? It arrived in a factory box that looked like it had been dragged behind a truck for 10 miles, however other than 1 very small dent on the very bottom, of the back side That cannot been seen) This is the perfect fit for what was needed. This was the way to go, I am hoping whatever caused all the damage to the box, was NOT sufficient enough to jar anything lose that may cause premature failure.

Works great
It’s small. Should have gone with 2+ cubic foot size. But works great and seems to be efficient in power usage.

Good and cold.
So I rented a studio apt with a kitchenette and it came with ablittle mini fridge with a little freezer section that wouldn’t keep my stuff frozen so I ordered this and put it on the countertop. So far it’s working very well. It’s good and cold and keeps my stuff frozen rock solid. The only complaint is the lack of corner protection for shipping. Mine arrived with a big dent in the edge of the door about the height of a pallet jack. The door seal isn’t compromised and I didn’t feel like taping the box back together and hauling back to the shipping carrier to return it so I’ll live with it. It’ll make a good garage freezer when I get a better place.

Extra freezer space.
Needed additional freezer space in conjunction with the refrigerator/freezer in the RV while traveling. Put the freezer in the truck and plugged it in at each stop along the way. Since it locks, there were no issues of the freezer opening and food spoiling. Once at the destination, the freezer is in a shed providing additional freezer space. Perfect!!!

OK overall, but certainly not quiet
I bought this Whynter freezer to get out of our main fridge’s freezer the many ice bags that we use for going camping and to the beach. I was attracted to this unit for it’s description of being as quiet as a household fridge. Well, maybe they compared it to your great-grandma’s old curved-top fridge from the 1940s because this little thing is certainly not as quiet as today’s modern fridges (and, yes, I made a point of letting it sit for nearly 24 hours before plugging it in to make sure that all fluids had settled). I highly doubt the 42 db rating…makes me wish I had a decibel meter in my toolbox. Thankfully it sits in our laundry room away from the living spaces of our house or I’d seriously consider returning it to try something else. On the positive side, it freezes everything up nicely, and the little tray on the bottom shelf is great for keeping stuff from sliding out when I open the door so that’s a plus. We don’t use the lock, but I did get a kick out of the other reviews that say it works like a charm for keeping room mates from stealing their food which definitely throws me back to those bad-room mate days when that’s happened to all of us. Also, it arrived with scratches on one side, but the front was fine…it’s a nice-looking unit. Good luck, I hope you get a quieter unit than I did.
