Not quite what I expected.
It is, indeed, a non-smart TV, but it’s not a plug and play either. Needs to be attached to a cable box to decode signals and pick up different channels. Plugged in without one, it gets a single channel. I expected the sound to be weak, but at full volume, it’s barely audible. I had to go to settings ant turn all the volumes to maximum to even hear a program’s conversation.I bought it to replace an old TV with a regular picture tube; that picture was deteriorating, but the set at least had a decoder built in. This new one does not.

Unit works fine. The speakers are not very loud and are definitely “tinny” in sound
Good price, nice size. Used for running a home schooling program from dvd’s. Larger sized screen makes schoolwork easier. I wouldn’t think that Bose has anything to worry about when it comes to the speakers. I hop it lasts through 12th grade.

Great picture, poor sound
The sound quality is marginal for some applications, though not all. Some programs are just fine. It’s loud enough but some tones seem to squeal. From reviews, it also seems to be the best option available for a unit this size with built in DVD. Adding a sound bar should greatly improve the sound. It’s great for the RV bedroom.

Works as it should. Pleased with picture and how DVD works. As noted from other reviews, the sound isn’t great. It has an output for sound we are using to run it through a CD player.

Almost prefect…
Bought this tv for use in a small travel trailer. Size is perfect for mounting onto thin trailer walls. It’s also perfect for camping in areas with no Wi-Fi as it has a compact built-in dvd player which works just fine. The only major downside, so far, is the sound is awful! Sounds like a tin can! But that’s not too much of an issue as a portable Bluetooth speaker can be easily hooked up with an auxiliary cord.

Instructions on DVD are poor.
The TV works fine. However, the “DVD operation” and “how to eject” instructions are wrong in the manual. The wording on the remote that comes with the TV does not correspond to what is written in the manual. Perhaps the manufacturer will read this and fix the issue. Here are the instructions that work:DVD OPERATIONTurn on TVPush “SOURCE” button on remote control.Select “DVD”Press “”OK”INSERTING THE DVD – (DO NOT insert DVD until you have selected “DVD” from the “SOURCE” menu).Once you have selected “DVD” and it appears on the screen:Insert DVD with printed label side facing the back.EJECTING THE DVDPUSH “RETURN” button on Remote Control.

This tv is good for its price but the sound is very bad. An external speaker is definitely essential, but it’s got all the components all tvs should have including a headphone jack.I am satisfied, overall.

Watching TV the picture is the picture quality is not too bad but movies, the picture sucks.
Watching TV stations is alright. The picture quality is good. However, watching movies on the other hand the picture quality is dark and shadowy. I tried adjusting the picture quality but to no avail. I have to settle for this TV for the time being but I would never purchase it again!

Sound is HORRIBLE
I really like this TV EXCEPT for the sound (which is almost non-existent). You have to stand about 4 inches from the set to hear anything. Even worse, there is apparently NO closed captioning, so I am trying to learn how to read lips !

Good value
This was a replacement for the bedroom. The main reason for this brand was it has a built in dvd player. Very difficult to find these televisions with that option. The color is brite and crisp very thin edges. The sound is good just would like a bit more control over the sound to adjust the bass, treble etc. It does have it just would like more options. The price is right in comparison to brands similar without a dvd player. Over all a good value. The item shipped arrived two days earlier, and was packed well.

spend a little more if you can
It’s ok on the picture front and the main draw for me was the DVD player.Sound is atrociousI’m very annoyed there are no buttons on the TV. I frequently loose the remote but usually don’t mind cuz it turns up eventually and using the buttons to work the TV use to be an option. It’s a bummer putting a DVD in the player doesn’t automatically switch the source. If you can, spend a bit more for a better brand.

We purchased this for our travel trailer/RV. Love the built in DVD player. My only negative would be the sound is low. We had to turn it almost full volume to really hear well. So far a decent purchase.

A beautiful picture
This TV has an incredibly beautiful picture. The colors are rich and lifelike without being overly bright as on some LED TV’s, including my last one, an Element which this TV is replacing due to blown HDMI ports after only 3 years. The black on this TVis very, very dark too, like a true black, not a grey. I did find the audio to be tinny and annoying, but with some adjustment of the bass and treble in the audio menu, that was easily remedied and now it sounds pretty good, for TV speakers. One thing to note is that the screw holes on back of the TV for attaching to a wall mount bracket are measured for the smaller square radius of the bracket rather than the large one, and on my bracket, that means using the smaller diameter holes. I didn’t still have the rest of the original screws that came with the bracket from when I bought my previous TV and the holes that I needed to use on the bracket are the smaller holes, so my screws were too wide to fit the smaller holes. No big deal, just drilled the holes out on the bracket so the screws would fit. The TV does come with the feet if you want to attach it that way however. For the price, I am quite happy with this purchase and this is my second Westinghouse TV, the previous one being an LCD one from many years ago. That TV was given to a friend and he is STILL using it and it has had no major problems or issues of any kind.

Do Not Buy!!! Westinghouse Terrible Company/Customer Service
Westinghouse has been the worst television company I have EVER purchased from. We bought this small cheap television for a blind family member who though they cannot see, they enjoy listening to television. When we first opened the box and set the tv up, we noticed that the coaxial port on the box shook when twisting the cable on. However, since the picture worked, we thought nothing of it. 4 weeks later, this disabled family member calls me to tell me the tv stop working and they heard a popping sound. So when I get to their home, the cable had fallen out of the tv along with the coaxial port (it was still screwed into the cable and laying on the floor). I contacted Amazon who said there was nothing they could do because it was a month after the date of purchase. They recommended contacting Westinghouse because it would have a warranty. I contacted Westinghouse, they said the following verbatim in email “we only cover a warranty when the TV has a manufacturer defect. A TV that has a physical defect is not part of our manufacturer’s defect. Unfortunately. Due to this matter, we regret to inform you that we cannot honor your claim.” So your company manufactured a television with a faulty loose part, and you don’t consider that a manufacturer’s defect? This is nonsense. I call Amazon to complain, they said luckily you purchased an Asurion tv protection plan. I call them and they say the same thing “we don’t cover this type of defect”. It’s all a scam and they work together. Therefore, if you plan on buying this tv, I highly recommend that you don’t. Go with Sony, Samsung, or Insignia. I have had tvs with them for years and when I have a problem their companies either replace or repair your issue.

Does the job of playing a DVD. Just have to sit close to hear.

Good if you have older components
If you need RCA (RWY) inputs, this has them, as well as HDMI and cable. If you don’t need a smart TV, this is a good choice. The sound isn’t very loud. I had to hook it up to speakers. The picture is nice. Some reviews mention a built-in DVD player. There is none in this model.

Good value for the price.
I bought this for my elderly parents because they’re not tech savvy enough to handle a Smart TV. In general, this is exactly what I wanted. Some HDMI ports, some of the old school red/white/yellow inputs for their DVD player, etc. The only drawback was that the top volume wasn’t that high and my mom has hearing loss. But I bought them a sound bar that luckily had an optical cord and this TV has an optical input. So it worked out.

So far so good
This replaced a year and a half old tv, where I’ve learned not to spend a lot on tvs as they quit so soon…unlike tvs of the past! I’ve given this a four star rating due to the fact that the volume is much lower than normal, even on high. I’ve made a scoop under the set to redirect sound towards me instead of the stand where it sits. That has helped. Otherwise everything else works fine. It’s a nice tv.

Worst TV, worked about two weeks and then constant troubles.
Below is my first review of the TV/DVD player. Here is my final review. It is nothing but a piece of junk that will be another item to add to our already full landfill. It won’t work. The DVD player began to have a grinding noise, pause in the middle of movies, eject the DVD in the middle of a movie, to name a few things. I called the Westinghouse tech support 7/24 line. They told me to reset back to factory settings???? And to try this and call back. Of course, it didn’t work. I even let the support agent listen to the grinding. I called back the second time on 11/2/2023. She started telling me she would put me on hold and talk to someone. I told her to give me an address to send it back or a refund. She then said it would be an e-mail from the company to give me those instructions. Got the e-mail and they want proof of purchase, picture of TV front view, picture of back view, picture of serial numbers and model number, mail or fax to them. They then will take another 45 days to process my claim. Never again will I buy a TV from Westinghouse.I gave this TV a great review when I first got it but it was more for the service from the company I bought it from but it seemed like a great TV for the price since I only wanted the built-in DVD player for my grandkids. Guess I got in a hurry to give a good review, lesson learned. Almost four months later the DVD player won’t work at all. I contacted the seller but unfortunately the three month warranty through them had expired. Now I have to contact Westinghouse. This was a plain TV with no internet abilities etc. but it was not built well at all. The DVD player gets stuck and won’t move on with the movie, it skips around when it does. It will not respond to anything when the DVD player is in a hung up mode. It is not the DVDs as I have lots of brand new DVDs and it reacts the same way on all of them so I will now have to contact the company and see what they will do about this issue. I am not happy about this at all. It should have at least lasted a year. I bought it in June and today is Sept 25 so barely three months since I bought i

Easy set up & I can attach my cable box
This tv was easy right out of the box. On screen instructions guided us through very simple set-up instructions. The picture is really nice but the sound is tin-y. I am used to a full rich sound, even from a small tv. This tv does not have that at all. I don’t know if I’ll keep the tv. I guess it depends if I can find a better replacement unit.

Serviceable, Poor Sound
I read the reviews and the concerns about sound are accurate. I am not looking for amazing picture or sound quality, just a convenient way to play DVD’s out here in the badlands of the Southwestern USA, so I’m quite satisfied with the sound and picture as they are “Good Enough” for my needs. This Combination of TV/DVD Player was very easy to set up and it is easy to play my DVD’s in. The remote is also intuitive to use the way a banana is. The sound is a bit crappy (not garbled, just not very “sharp” sound if that helps any) and the picture is not ideal (again, not like your favorite show is suddenly an impressionist painting, but not super sharp), but I don’t care ~ in fact, it looks and sounds like a 1990’s TV and that is just fine for rewatching Buffy or some swank retro pastiche masterpiece like Stranger Things. I was looking more for the convenience, simplicity of use and small footprint of an all-in-one device (it fits in my bookcase!). One may be able to obtain better picture (perhaps while watching a streaming show?) or sound (by installing external speakers?), but I’m not bothered enough by the sound and picture to do so, in fact, the somewhat crappy quality of sound and picture is rather nostalgic for anyone who grew up in a doublewide and had tin foil rabbit ears on their 1975 24″ 200 pound faux wood encased Zenith. For the price, I am happy (even your Grandma could set it up and it weighs less than her Chihuahua!). It came very promptly (about 2 cups of tea after I ordered it, if I remember correctly) and was packaged extremely well (I’m sure if it had been delivered via telekinesis, Drone or Pterodactyl, it would have survived a hard landing on hot magma). The only complaint I would have regarding packaging is that it was polystyrene (“Styrofoam” ) where I would very much prefer something biodegradable like cardboard or maybe oatmeal raisin cookies though, that could get messy in our New Mexico heat. If you don’t expect too much, you will not be disappointed. Come to think of it, that Zen perspective on this device is not a bad way to look at just about anything. Thank You Gentle Readers, for making it this far in the Review ~ now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got stakes to sharpen, socks to darn and reruns of X-Files to watch (even though they still suck but are required viewing for all New Mexicans according to State Law). ~B

Great TV at a great price!
This is a TV that I keep on a little table in my bedroom. It doesn’t take up a lot of space. It’s usually at least 10 feet from me and I can always hear it very well. The setup was easy, and hooked up to a good digital antenna it pulls in over thirty channels in my urban location. Picture quality is crisp and clear. If the need arose, I would buy another one of these, which is high praise from me because I’m usually pretty critical of things that I buy.
