Great reasonably priced monitors for a software engineer
I use a pair of these monitors in my home office primarily for writing software. I’ve found the color and brightness to be great, especially given the price. Very satisfied with them for this purpose – I haven’t used them for gaming, so can’t comment on how they would be in that situation. The VESA mounting worked great, and I’ve mounted them in mounts attached to my desk (see photo).

Great value 4k display
Looks great! I’m really satisfied to get a second 4k monitor for reading things in 4k at such a decent price (about 200).Pros:-Contrast ratio between white/blacks seems great, especially for LCD screen tech-Viewing angles seem good, legit IPS display-Screen resolution is as advertised, easy set up-Pretty stable base with a decent tilt functionCons:-Speakers suck, but hopefully you’re not buying it for that-I don’t think this contains the DRM that you need to play Netflix in 4k, but I used my TV for that-Screen refresh rate is only 60-70 Hz, so that’s pretty noticeable if you’re used to one of those 120-144 Hz refresh screens (but you’re not getting that at 4k at any price nearby this!)-Base does not do adjustable height (I guess buy a monitor arm or stand if that’s important to you)Overall, no regrets on this purchase.

Perfect second monitor.
I got this monitor as a second monitor in my set-up. I needed another monitor that could display text clearly for work, and found that a 4k display would get the best results purely based off of the pixel density factor. In terms of gaming I wouldn’t know how it does, but the color accuracy is good and i haven’t had any issues. Ran it through all the monitor tests when I first opened it and didn’t have any problems. Obviously there are better models out there, but at this price point its hard to beat. Just make sure you the monitor meets your requirements before you buy it, there shouldn’t be any surprises as all the information can be found quickly.-Tip: Make sure the ports on the monitor match with what your set up needs. I see a lot of monitors advertise certain refresh rate and display quality when that can only be achieved through their display port or something else , and then find that their HDMI ports are not 2.0 and can’t support the advertised refresh rate and display of most consoles and games.

Issue Being Resolved
Monitor is great for the price. The cheapest 4k monitor I can find, and the quality is amazing. Games are amazing to play on it. On a side note, had a problem with delivery of the monitor. I had bought the monitor during the prime day sale, and it was suppose to be delivered 2 days later. The day came and I received a email notification saying it was left by my front door, but it was not. My wife was home all day, and I also have a camera set to watch the front of our home. No delivery person ever showed up. Had to wait 2 days before I could speak / text someone because of Amazon delivery policy. Luckily the person from customer service for Amazon was able to help me and send me a replacement monitor with no additional cost. Not sure what ever happened to the first monitor. Most likely it was left at the wrong residency, and some one kept it at my expense, or would have been my expense.

Display Does Not Fill Physical Screen
(Updated from 2 to 3 stars because it’s a pretty decent monitor, good for text, images also look great, even with the border around the screen.) I want to give this monitor more than (2) 3 stars, but I can’t. I just setup 2 brand new ones, and while I’m not going to send them back, I’m unhappy. The content shown on the screen does not fill the screen edge to edge. These monitors have a very nice super thin edge, but the display does not go all the way to the edge. There is at least 1/4″ of black space all the way around the “lit up” part of the screen. The product description says the monitor features a “sleek edgeless design” – which is true… the outer edge of the monitor is very thin, making it look almost edgeless. However, the actual display does not go all the way to the edge of the screen, so you still end up with at least a 1/4 inch border around the edge. Sceptre tech support tells me this is the way the monitor is designed. They call it the bezel. So, it’s got a really thin almost edgeless design, but the entire screen is not usable, so it has what I will call a “screen bezel.” I’ve never seen a monitor like this before, so it’s a surprise and a little hard to describe. Next time, I’ll go to the computer/electronics store (like I used to) and see the monitors in action before I make a purchase.

Great so far
Comparing this side-by-side with my $1,000 dollar benq monitor I honestly don’t see much difference. Viewing angles are identical. Same amount of motion blur. Identical IPS glow. The benq has slightly better contrast but that’s about it.

A Tremedous Value for a 4K Monitor with Excellent Display
$200 for a 4K 27″ display is a great bargain. I would not have believed it until I used it and was so very pleased with the crispness and color. It came with a HDMI cable and the stand was easy to install with 4 screws. Now it was not height adjustable but for $200 that is in the noise.

Good display, some QC issues.
I purchased two of these displays about a year ago. One died about 8 months after receiving it. Besides that, I haven’t experienced any major issues with these monitors. It may just be the ones that I have but color isn’t too consistent among these monitors, since one is consistently brighter then the other even when using the same settings.

Great value for what you get
The only thing to really dislike about this monitor is that it’s 70Hz, other than that, it’s got way more features and bells and whistles than I expected— especially coming from Sceptre. Packed extremely well, all metal base (with a minimalist feel), and looks fantastic.

Breathtaking!
This monitor is simply stunning. I’m using it as a desktop monitor for my M2 MacBook Air 15″. I am using the DP port direct into the Thunderbolt 3 port. I’m utterly blown away by the sharpness and brightness. 4K video on this almost looks 3d it’s so vibrant. At this price point it almost feels too good to be true. This is one of the best tech purchases I’ve made in a long time. I am impressed!

Good quality, until it stops working and you have to wait for the warranty replacement
I initially bought the monitor for $280 back in April, and it was comparable with the Samsung monitor I also use (I used two dual monitors for my macbook pro via thunderbolt to displaylink cables). In September, the monitor stopped recognizing my macbook via displaylink, and after a month long process with their warranties team, they sent a box, and replaced my monitor with a different one or fixed the displaylink issue.Periodically, the monitor stops working again. When this happens, the red light turns on but the power button fails to do anything. In these cases, remove the power plug for at least 30 seconds then plug the power back on. Seems to do the trick. If you like to play mind-numbing games plugging and unplugging chords, pressing buttons, and … then maybe, this product is for you.

Great for fine detail work!
We use this monitor as a duplicate screen of the signal being sent to a 4K projector. The pixel resolution is fantastic, and provides a lot of reassurance in our production laboratory that the 4K projector is displaying the proper image. We are using an inline HDMI duplicator available elsewhere on Amazon. This would also be a great application for providing a speaker-view of what’s on the projector behind him or her.

Beautiful monitor
Thoroughly impressed. My previous monitor was an Asus ProArt PA279CV, which costs more than twice as much. This is very close to the Asus in terms of picture quality (although I did not do a formal test with a calibration device). This Sceptre was supposed to be a budget monitor for light use but it really is good enough to be my daily driver.

Happy with my purchase
I’m very happy with this monitor. I purchased for general business usage so my needs were “good” colors and sharp text. Not gaming. Not photo/video content creation.Dead Pixels: NoneBrightness: GoodPicture Quality: Good (Anything over 90% srgb is good enough for me).Value: Great. This was only a little more than 27” HD 1080p monitors. You never want an HD 1080p monitor at 27” size.Tip: Don’t use your TV judgement for a Computer Monitor. The reason an HD TV looks ok at 27” or bigger sizes is because you are several feet away from a TV, so you cannot see the detail of the screen from that distance. We sit inches away from a computer monitor, so at 27” and above, you can see the individual pixels that make up the image on the screen. Text and pictures will degrade in quality at 1080p with anything over about 25” size.

Sleep mode issues
Monitor looks nice. Color and Picture seem OK. My gaming has been limited. However – major problem with sleep mode. Whenever the PC goes to sleep, the monitor will not wake up until a power cycle. Feels like a major waste as I will not be able to use this unless I remember to turn the monitor off every time I walk away.

Crisp, tiny pixels, exactly what I wanted
I’m a Linux guy doing development. What a pleasure to have 3820×2160. Actually I use 2 monitors so I have another 19201080 on the second monitor. DP to this one, HDMI to the other. I did nothing but plug it in, and everything was beautiful out of the box. And still it is only 27″, so I have crisp resolution and yet it doesn’t hog my desk. Exactly what I wanted.

Flabbergasting!
Simply amazing! I’m a geezer, and college was a succession of 17″ B&W CRT monitors showing me green text. Now, decades later, I sit in front of a $260 screen that takes my breath away. I haven’t seen a bad pixel, seamless HDMI, the resolution is spec from what I can tell, the color is astounding, sharp edges, so crisp and clean. If you want a desktop monitor that is almost too big and that will make you cry, get this. You’ll go to bed happy.

Most Inputs of any monitor!
I needed a monitor for my surveillance cameras and two mini computers (3 hdmi inputs) and this is the only monitor I could find with 3 hdmi (and 1 display port) inputs. Build quality is solid and picture is bright. For the price, nothing comes close especially if you need all the inputs that I did. Also, I trusted “Amazon’s Choice” and, once again, was not disappointed.

Bought for gaming
I bought this monitor only for gaming. Decided it was time to upgrade from my 1080 samsung which I love, but felt like I was missing out on what the next gen consoles offers in terms of image quality. I play on a PS5 and Xbox series X and here’s what I think:-Set up is ridiculously simple (unless you want to mount on the wall), otherwise you just click the base on the back, and screw these 4 little screws to the foot of the base. And it comes with a screwdriver.-Image quality is amazing, color is the most vibrant color I’ve seen on a monitor, tweak the setting to 75% sharpness and you got a fantastically detailed game (Guardians of the Galaxy looks so good!)-Runs a ok 60fps when plugged into HDMI1.Now here’s what I dislike:-2 out of the 3 HDMI ports are useless, on the description it says you get 4k at 60fps on HDMI1 and the same resolution on 30FPS with HDMI2 and 3, that’s a LIE! Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X did not recognize the ports 2 and 3 as 4K, only 1080 for PS5 and 1440 for Xbox Series X. So that was misleading and frankly false advertisement. Now I had to buy a HDMI splitter to have both consoles plugged into the only one 4k port.-Speakers are useless, I’m sitting at arms length to the monitor with volume at 100 and it’s horribly low and frankly awful quality. However, that to me isn’t a deal breaker since I always play with headphones.Overall, I’m keeping it. I love the image quality, it is the main reason why I bought it. Had a downside of needing to buy extra HDMI splitter but it’s an easy inexpensive fix. I mainly play RPGs, action and adventure games (Elden Ring, Nier, Horizon, Witcher) so 4k at 60fps does it ok for me. But if you play competitive online multiplayer games like Call of duty, Valorant etc. This might not be the monitor for you.

Great value!
I use the monitor to write and debug code. I don’t use it for gaming. That being said, the resolution and brightness is fantastic. OSD works perfectly but you do have to have a proper hdmi or display port cable attached to use it. Apparently without a video signal the OSD doesn’t work. I’ve used this about a month and so far the monitor has worked perfectly without adjustments. It just works out of the box!

This is too cheap to be a 4k 27″ monitor – that’s what you must think when you open the item and start digging into reviews. It was okay, but it could have been better. It didn’t work well or let me change the Mac display resolution/sizing like other plug-and-play monitors. It also didn’t work with a 12-South USB-C hub. The speakers are bad; overall, remember you always get what you pay for.

Great display for the price! Worked out of box, very little setup required.
Decent display and 4k display solution for the money. The image I have included of the display does not do it justice, the washout is my camera, not the display I assure you.The only problem I have with this display is the power cord. This display surprised me requiring it own proprietary power cord, not the standard most pc peripherals and displays have used in the past. This caused me a problem as my setup requires a longer power cord than most, and I have purchased extended cables for this purpose. Had I known this, I probably would NOT have purchased this display. Anyhow I got it connected… It will work, but its not perfect.Another interesting strangeness is how the plugs go into the display. ALL of my prior displays had a shielded area, where cables connected upwards. This display has them sticking directly out of the back, this presents a greater possibility of damage when moving the display.

Probably the best 4K monitor under $300
The picture of me writing this review…The picture doesn’t really do it justice. The picture looks great. I bought it for $199.99 and I think it is a steal. Currently waiting to get a second monitor (almost a month for restocking) because they are out of stock. Called Amazon to get information about it and apparently it is very popular. The ONLY thing I do not like is that it does not have a brightness adjustment. It is supposed to auto-adjust, but if you sit too close to it in a semi dark room, it will burn your retinas. I am completely fine since I sit at a moderate distance from it (about 18-20 inches away). There are days where it does bother me a bit and I just move back or take a break for my eyes to get rested, and then go back to work. Oh, I forgot to mention, I bought this because I now work from home full time. That means that I am staring at this monitor for at least 8 hours a day on weekdays. AND, I have it hooked up to an HDMI switch so I could use it with my gaming desktop, so in reality it is way more than 8 hours a day.Tried the display port cable that came with it and connected it to my PC. Looks great, but my gaming PC is now 10 years old so I do not get the full 4K experience. Maybe next year I can work on new gaming PC and I will find out then.

Worked for about a month
When the monitor worked, it was fine. About 1 month of useful life. Then artifacts began showing up. as you can see in the photos. These artifacts are independent of any input, you see them on device startup.I am using this as a second monitor to my mac mini m1 unit. Like the primary, I was using it at 4k resolution. It worked reasonably well, as I had expected based upon a previous 2k monitor I’d purchased from Sceptre. That monitor is great, sitting on a workbench, and it just keeps running. The speakers in this monitor are quite tinny, then again, I didn’t expect it to have great/good sound. The display (when working) was generally nice, and easy to use/work with.I’ve opened an RMA request with Sceptre for this unit. I am hoping they will simply replace it with a working unit.

Phenomenal monitors at the price.
This is pretty much the way to go if you want 4k picture at a relatively low price. I bought two of them, and mounted them both at my desk.Yes, the refresh rate is 70hz instead of the 140hz or whatever you want if you’re a super serious gamer. But 70hz is just fine for me (and I game casually). The bezels are quite thin, especially at the price point. I put them on 100mm mounts, and they mount nice and securely. The picture quality and screen brightness looks fantastic. The menu is also easy to use if you want to adjust some settings. These are really just the go to option if you want cheap but still great 4k monitors. When I can afford it, I’m going to replace my 1080p monitor on the left with a third 4k Sceptre monitor.

Very nice monitor
I must say, coming from a 24” 1080p monitor the difference is absolutely mind-blowing. I discovered that the graphics in all my games look so much better as the details were previously muddied by low resolution monitors. Easily one of the cheapest ways to improve image/graphics quality.Overall, I dont really have any complaints. If I had one comment it would be to notice the long pixel delay as it is noticeable on fast games. However since I rarely use it for gaming this is not a problem.

Incredible picture and quality for the price without wasted frills.
Since HDR isn’t really all that great without like 1000nits anyways, and I’m using this for my mac studio as a work screen, I don’t care about gaming or refresh rate (though 70hz is nice). I expected less than what this monitor gives. The stand is very sturdy and has a smaller footprint than the LG Ultrafine 27UN850-W it replaces. Picture is brighter and clearer after some basic adjustments. Color is perfectly -fine- if you’re not a designer, especially at this price point. I will never test the speakers. I’m using a thunderbolt to display port adapter and everything works great. I love that there’s not a bunch of gimmicky random features no one ever uses that usually aren’t very well implemented in the first place like my other monitors, so it feels like I’m simply paying for a solid, reliably 32″ 4k monitor and that’s what I got. Had it for a few days now and as for it’s sturdiness, I accidentally let this slip out of the box as I was opening it and it fell onto my polished concrete floor about a foot and a half and had zero cracks or anything. I was worried but no dead pixels or anything at all.

Strange issues, but works pretty well.
I had an issue where I couldn’t get a picture. Tried a different DisplayPort cable than the one that came with it and a different system. Ended up changing the input and cable type to HDMI and that fixed it with no further issues since. Also they really need to either fix their speaker quality or stop including them (which could make it cheaper) because they just sound bad. Finally, the only real bezel is at the bottom which I think is neat. This would be good for a dual/multi monitor setup.

And they say size doesn’t matter…
I’ve been using 4K screens since 2016, when i took a bet on a QNIX monitor. That lived long enough, and 4 years later, i had to replace it. But the only thing that was on my price range was a 27” AOC monitor. Wow, i really missed the size. And then this one got a decent discount to $200, and i have no regrets at all. Color-wise and brightness-wise is better than the AOC monitors, and it is bigger. My unit came with three stuck pixels, but they’re each on one corner, and the advantage of 4K is that pixels are tiny until you get into 60” class screens, so they being stuck doesn’t get noticeable at all. Also, my unit had no IPS glow at all.The second factor that made me buy this is the port selection. Most monitors have two, maybe three ports, usually one DP and two HDMI. HDMI is nerfed too, with only one 2.0 port and the other one being 1.4. To me it doesn’t matter that one port is 1.4 since i just use that to connect my PS4, but usually i need to connect my laptop and a second PC via HDMI, so i’ve been using an HDMI splitter and leaving a rat’s nest of cables behind the screen. Now, this monitor has TWO DP and TWO HDMI ports, so i can connect both my desktops, my laptop and my PS4, and everything gets 4k60 (except my PS4 because the mere idea of 4K makes it sound like a jet turbine), and even the PCs get 4K70 over DisplayPort. The 70 Hz thing… well, that’s my issue with this monitor. It is too low to be really useful over 60 Hz (maybe 75-80 HZ would’ve been better) and even if some people can notice the difference, the fact that this monitor has no adaptive refresh (like Freesync) makes that feature almost useless as a concept. The only saving grace this has, and the reason i am not annoyed with it, is that it is not a heavily marketed feature. Yes, it appears on the Amazon description, but unlike most other El Cheapo monitors, Spectre doesn’t oversell this feature. Hell, they market this more for productivity than for gaming, so yeah, i can live with this.

Fantastic Upgrade from 27″
5 stars — I’ve recommended this to friends & familyThis is my second Sceptre monitor and I’ve been very pleased with both. The picture quality is great and it was a breeze to setup (which is true of most monitors these days). As other reviewers have noted, the speakers are weak: tinny and soft. It would be better if Sceptre simply stopped including speakers and instead offered some other feature, or a discount on a soundbar. If you use dual monitors, make sure to go into the settings and turn off the energy saver setting. If the monitor goes off, Windows 10-11 get confused and forget that you have two screens. Instead, use Windows power settings to manage it, so both screens go dark together (just as helpful for the environment).(It’s generally a good idea to go through settings anyhow.)As a final note: consider going with a curved screen. With a monitor this size, it makes it easier to view the entire screen without turning your head.

Good value
There are some discriminating gamers, artists, and pros out there who would criticize this monitor for various things, but the fact remains that you won’t find much (if anything) that competes with it at this price point. 70Hz refresh gives it just that little extra, but the only “gaming” I do is browser based. Like most people, my use is going to be heavy browser with some office apps, and I do some Photoshop. Again, I’m no pro, just a regular user, but colors are fine, responsiveness is snappy enough, and it’s plenty bright for my home office setting. The refresh rate is plenty to smooth my mouse and other movements so that I am not distracted by any jittering.Overall, it’s a really good value. I’ve only had this a little while, but my experience has been positive with Sceptre products in the past and I have no reason to expect different from what I’ve seen here.

Some QC issues, but otherwise great display
I ordered this monitor for ~$200 during Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. Took only about two days to ship and arrived in a clearly resealed package, but otherwise worked well out of the box. However, I put up a dead pixel test and found a collection of dead pixels on the center right of the screen. I immediately asked for a replacement, which was graciously sent to me three days later.I now have the replacement monitor, and it still has a dead pixel. This time, it’s at the top right of the screen, so it is virtually unnoticeable unless you’re looking for it. Fair enough, Sceptre isn’t exactly known for its stellar quality control so I’m just gonna let that slide and not deal with another return hassle.Otherwise, I have no major complaints. The monitor gets bright enough for my needs, the picture quality is excellent and meshes well with my M1 Macbook Pro (MacOS LOVES higher resolution displays). For $200, there’s nothing much that can beat it as a 4k 32 inch display unless you’re looking at used.Just… don’t even think about using the speakers. I honestly think it would be better for them to remove them entirely in favor of a slimmer design or something. Oh well, I use headphones 🙂

Great monitor.
The box for monitor was shipped with UPS and it was delivered properly, no damage on the packaging. Inside the box were the instructions manual for set up, the stand, a mini screwdriver for installation and a display port cable. I use this monitor for light gaming and work. It has physical buttons on the underside of the monitor for screen adjustments, and to toggle through the preset modes. The size is in the perfect range for people who don’t want a television on their desk and don’t want a microscope screen either. At the price range I’ve found it’s very hard to top, 70hz is still usable with gaming. I saw reviews claiming these monitors had dead pixels but my unit had no dead pixel issues. If you’re looking to build a gaming pc setup for not too much money or are just in the market for a good monitor that won’t break the bank this is a top choice.

Overclocked it to 120hz!
I held off on writing this review until I had the chance to overclock the monitor to 120Hz through the Nvidia control panel. I’m happy to report that it operates stably at this frequency! However, pushing it beyond 120Hz, even to 123Hz, doesn’t seem to work. One minor issue is that when the room is bathed in sunlight, the screen’s brightness doesn’t quite hold up. But considering its price point of $259 for a 4K 120Hz panel, it’s unquestionably a great value purchase.I can’t guarantee that the panel you’ve purchased will perform identically to mine, but I highly recommend giving overclocking a try, aiming for at least 90Hz. It might surprise you with its capabilities!

This monitor is good for one thing only: Recommending to your enemies so they suffer!
Why does this brand have such good reviews? This monitor is an utter piece of crap.Included speakers are so crappy, you could make your own set yourselves and put in there. This should not be a selling factor whatsoever.Monitor also came with a dead pixel, and the backlighting is uneven, very poorly made.I’ve had this for just a little over a year and the DisplayPort keeps stop working intermittently, and now stopped working completely. So if you want a monitor with a dead pixel, poor backlighting because it was misaligned during install, crappy speakers that you can’t turn off and keep showing up as a sound source and sending all your audio to these speakers when you have better audio, and want your monitor to work intermittently causing you hours of frustration troubleshooting, oh and make room for a power brick, thing doesn’t even use a standard power port.So again, recommend this to your enemies!!!! Otherwise, STAY CLEAR. Don’t cheap out on monitors and just get a regular brand.

Really good experience so far
I bought 2 of these displays about 3 months ago (Aug ’23.) Assembly of the base to the mounting point was super quick. The boxes included display port cables and I don’t think the item description noted them, (so I bought 2 others for nothing.) I don’t use the built-in speakers. The fact that 27″ displays handle 4K video is probably overkill, but having the feature was a key selling point vs. competitive products. Happy so far.

Best Overall 4k
Our second Sceptre, this one 4k, the other 1080p.Has all specs we needed. Reliable, the other has had lots of use.Image and sound excellent. Audio is improved on this model, loud and clear.Chose another of this brand due to being a 4k monitor, lower priced on sale, with multiple inputs.
