Sold as unlocked but is locked
This is a great phone. Very clear screen and easy to load apps via WiFi, but alas even though it was sold as UNLOCKED it is indeed locked. There are website that supposed sell codes to unlock the phone but I feel I paid for an unlocked phone so I will not be spending any money on that. I will be returning this and expect a refund. Otherwise its ok .. its like new and works in all other ways.. Thanks

Phone behave as advertised! Accessory was incorrect…
Reading on past reviews, there was concerned that the advertised “unlocked” phone would not actually be unlocked. Fortunately that was not the case. I already had a T-Mobile SIM card, and inserting it was all I needed to do. Also the phone itself seemed to originally have T-Mobile tech on it already, so that may have already helped.Thus far no issues, but this is Day 1, and hopefully there won’t be any issues in the near future.Would be an initial 5-Star rating, but as the headline implies, the accessory they sent with the phone is a mismatch. The charge plug and cable in particular look to be for the wrong phone, thus it doesn’t fit. Fortunately the correct cable required is one I already have. Still though that is a gaff on an otherwise satisfactory purchase.Making this review for those who may be concerned by other negative reviews. DO YOUR RESEARCH! Read the description, know what you need and what this product is supposed to offer.

Save your money
Seemed okay at first but I noticed within the first couple of days that the battery life is absolutely garbage. It will be hold a charge to save my life. The battery has completely died while the phone was turned off and in my drawer at work. Imagine getting out of work knowing your phone was at 52% when you went it. Then try turning it on to find out that it’s dead.Following the power button for this phone does not work at all. A few weeks ago despite never being dropped or in the presence of water or steam or anything. It has simply stopped working. This makes it so that when the phone dies on me suddenly I have to charge it. Pull the battery out of the phone. Then put it back in to start.I don’t know what quality control, if any, is done with these phones before they’re shipped. But it’s definitely not enough.Update as of 1-22-2020.Was sent to a local repair store by Samsung after contacting Amazon about the issues with the power button. Walked in and explained the issue and showed them the phone to which I got an immediate, “Oh, a J3.” She then proceeded to explain that everything on the inside of this phone is integrated and that the power button cannot be replaced. And then checked the battery and found that whoever did the refurbishing on this removed the indicator for if it’s been affected by water.So at the end of the day I would never recommend this phone to anyone.

i’d buy it again
FYI: I bought an unlocked at&t phone and t mobile sim card for my existing prepaid t mobile account..NO problem except you cannot update the android OS from 7 to 8……evidently you’d need to borrow an at&t sim to do that, then switch back. I haven’t tried it.

Replaces RCA M1 Mobile Phone
I previously had a RCA M1 Mobile Phone which worked well but was unable to find a replacement battery. The Samsung cost about $30 more but is worlds apart. My wife and I only have cell phones for emergencies and incidentals with prepaid T-Mobile Plans which also give free internet calling when online. Now we both have the Samsung phones which are more like mini IPads and with plentiful hot spots we can access the internet almost everywhere except on the road. They also have GPS and with mapping software provide maps and directions. I’m also hopeful a replacement battery will be available when required.

Nice phones but network locked
The phones would have been great deal and very nice new looking. Unfortunately they were network locked to T Mobile and I have ATT. Sent back seller refunded my purchase. One star less than 5 only because they weren’t network unlocked and I lost out paying return shipping.

Not worth the money!
This was a relatively low quality phone. The sound on it is poor at best. You can hardly hear it ring. I missed several phone calls until I figured it out. I decided to keep it, simply because it was easier then sending it back. I already sent back the first phone I got, and didn’t want to do it again. I will not buy from this company again in the future. Their products just aren’t worth the money.

It’s a used phone, that looks like new phone
This phone is unlock for any GSM carrier.I using this phone for 2 weeks in a different country with my digicel sim card and so far so good.. Very simple for any age and not to flashy. GREAT price for a extra phone to have.

Bought this for my grandmother to replace a galaxy that looks similiar to this phone. I needed to get my grandmother the same looking phone so that she will already know how to use it. Its been working out fine after getting all her stuff transfered to this phone. Because this is a renewed phone, I am going to keep and eye on the battery life and they overall functioning of the phone.Edit ….Had to return the phone. It did not function well my AT&T carrier. The phone never got reception, only 1 bar most of the time. And the calls weren’t being registered. friends and family kept saying they were calling but the phone wouldn’t ring.

Came with TMobile bloatware..
Could use instructions. Had tiniest piece of tape on battery terminals. I didn’t notice this and ended up getting it replace within 48 hours.Contains bloatware from T-Mobile. This can be removed but I would not buy again.

NOT UNLOCKED
I purchased this phone for an upcoming trip out of the country. When I got it, I wanted to double check it was unlocked, however it is not.I got a MetroPCS phone, which lets you unlock through an app they have themselves. I shouldn’t have had to do this in the first place, but when I realized it was locked, I tried to unlock it in hopes of actually being able to use it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to unlock it via the app.DO NOT BUY.

Not unlocked for abroad
The phone was not unlocked as advertised. I bought it to use in Peru while I researched and when I arrived it was blocked on the metro pcs network. I had to take it somewhere to be unlocked. Be aware that it will probably not be unlocked when you get it.

What was listed is not what was received!!!
According to the listing this phone is supposed to be a “Samsung Galaxy Prime 16GB J327 J3 AT&T T-Mobile Unlocked Smartphone – Silver (Renewed)”, what was received was a LOCKED METROPCS phone. Unfortunately too much time had passed since the purchase and the opportunity to transfer the phone due to travel restrictions imposed by COVID19.Sometimes it is best to just spend a couple extra dollars to get something that is what you expect to be.Touché to the scammers that sold this phone and from the looks of other comments, other phones that end up making semi decent paperweights.

Battery Life is Awful
While this phone worked wonderfully for the first few months, it has become increasingly difficult to charge. The battery life is, at this point, terrible. If I unplug it at 6am it is dead by 4pm, without any background programs running, and with only 1 phonecall of less than 15 minutes.

Unbelievable! Do not waste your time or money. I NEVER write reviews. I am hoping I save someone a little bit of time by writing this. I bought this for my son as a starter phone (as a Christmas gift), but it came LOCKED. I reached out to customer service – which is always great – and they sent a new one right away, promising that it wouldn’t happen again. It was delayed bc of the holiday, so it took a little longer, but the 2nd phone was also LOCKED! What a waste of my time!!!!!

Bought this phone in March 2020 for my daughter. In June 2020, just weeks after the return window closure, phone stopped working. Completely.After contacting Amazon support it turned out that 3-month return window is the ONLY warranty provided for “renewed” stuff. Which was fully unexpected.Think twice and assess risks before buying.
