    Really nice!

I really like the colors and the quality of this TV. Comparing with 55 inches Samsung Frame TV, this one has a faster response time with much better clarity and sound. Size is perfect for our space as well. We are really happy with this purchase.

Great picture w/ more features than you need

PROS:-The best thing about this TV is the picture quality and sound. The tv speakers have great sound. That’s really what you want in a TV. It fits my space perfectly and the clarity is incredible. The picture shown doesn’t even do it justice and this isn’t even 4k. Wow.CONS:-TV sound has a delay (echo) with my optical output. So, I really can’t run all of the sound outputs (TV AND RECEIVER) at once as I have always done. It’s unfortunate. But one or the other is adequate enough. I just don’t understand why there is a delay. It is a brand-new optical cable and it works perfectly with my older Samsung TV.-This might not be a con for you if you need the features. But the features of the TV are total overkill if you have a console like an XBOX. Since the Xbox already supplies almost all of the same features. You are likely paying for what you don’t need if you already have it. It is nice to not have to fire up the XBOX to view all of the same stuff though.-The remote is TINY. Make sure you keep it somewhere you will always find it. I put a piece of yellow tape on it so I can find it if it’s just laying on my COUCH.-The stand is stable but locked into one position. So, you can’t tilt it up/down or right/left without the stand moving with the TV. Not sure why they did this either. It doesn’t matter to me much though since I don’t really change the viewing angles. The stand is also pitched up ever so slightly. I don’t know why this is. Maybe over time, the weight will eventually be straight? Weird.

    Nice for gaming

This is a fairly nice TV taken on its own, but I recently bought a different TV for less than half the price that I like better. We do a lot of streaming, but this TV was missing a couple smaller apps that we like. The picture quality on older shows isn’t as good as it could be. The Alexa integration is somewhat glitchy. That being said, this is a relatively full-featured smart TV with most of the apps you’d expect for online streaming. It’s a good size and good quality on native 4K content. It’s easy to set up and use.Edited to add: I didn’t realize the gaming hub part when talking about price, because I’m not much of a gamer, but that part seems pretty nice if you’re into it. No need for a separate console makes the price much more reasonable, especially considering some popular games that are included free. I’ve been into a simplification phase, so anything that reduces wire clutter in my house is nice.

Broke quickly and customer service is awful

This won’t read as a verified purchase as the TV was bought through my husband’s account and he can’t be bothered to type out reviews, but I can! We bought this TV about three months ago. From the get-go, the back light was a bit “off,” but nothing that we couldn’t just kind of deal with. Then a couple weeks ago a square of the screen turned dimmer than the rest of it, but again not THAT noticeable. A few days after that, the back light went in its entirety. If you stand right next to the screen, you can see it’s on, but obviously nothing is truly visible. It’s past the Amazon 30-day return window, so Amazon was no help and we’ve had to deal directly with Samsung. Our original service appointment was booked for the 11th, then moved to the 13th, then the 15th (today). We’ve just been called to say that it’s been pushed back again to the 20th. This is an absolute joke, considering the cost of this TV. I can only recommend in the strongest of terms that you don’t buy this TV or any Samsung TV at all.UPDATE 09/28: The repair guys just came for the second time, bringing a second part which did NOT fix the problem. Wondering how long Samsung will attempt to repair a TV that is clearly a dud. As my husband says, he has lost all hope for repair on this TV and now simply hopes we reach the point where Samsung has spent more money on futile repair visits than he spent on this TV.

    Top notch

Sound quality and screen quality are great. Connecting the tv with my internet was difficult for me since I’m not tech savvy but once I got the TV working, I was blown away by the quality of the TV.

All of the OLED benefits with none of the cons!

I own an LG C2 OLED TV, so I can fairly say that this QLED is perfect for anyone looking for OLED quality with none of the burn in issues that OLED has. Sure, the QLED has *some* light bleed, but it’s night and day compared to any other LED TV on the market. Its very close to OLED. I added a picture of the very faint light bleed when a movie has letterboxing. If you have a significant other or kids that may leave the TV on with a static image, then I would highly recommend avoiding OLED and getting this QLED TV. It will save you the headache of dealing with burn in. Samsung makes some excellent screens, and this one is as close as you’ll get to an LG or Samsung OLED.

    Fantastic picture!!!!!!!!

This Tv has by far best picture I’ve ever seen. Every time I turn it on I’m truly amazed, from the darkest blacks to brightest colors it’s truly incredible. If you don’t own one make plans to get one you won’t be disappointed. It’s simple to set up and comes with Samsung Tv channel with a great variety of programming to watch that’s free, no need for cable or other streaming services. The Bixby feature is an added plus, just press the microphone button on the remote and tell it what you want to watch. The sound is just incredible too. There’s no need to have a surround system hooked up it really doesn’t need one. The separation and clarity is just as amazing the picture it self. Again if you don’t own one get one soon!

    The picture quality is impressive.

This tv really impressed me, the picture quality is more then I expected and our family really enjoys watching movies on this tv. The size and the quality in general is great, it has all the needed futures and I really love how this the TV is. The sound is also amazing, and another great thing is the remote which is small, then is very comfortable.Definitely a great investment, this tv will definitely last for years

    Stunning picture quality

Samsung makes great TVs and this one is no different. Picture quality is stunning. User interface is much better than older iterations. As other reviews noted, it is a bit annoying that Samsung implies you must create an account, but you do not have to if you choose not to. The TV is thin but not razor thin. I like the fact there is no bump out on the back which enables a nice clean flush mount against the wall. The remote is a little different than most other tv remotes I have seen but you get used to it quickly. It has a solar charging cell which is nice. Overall, very happy with the TV.

Garbage interfaces make TV near useless

The interfaces through the smart hub are terrible. TV freezes and has to be factory reset often. Loses all settings for apps. Absolute disappointment.

Picture is amazing. Very thin. Numerous modern ports. Well designed. Sound output problems.

Samsung thought of everything, starting with the box that can be deconstructed in order to safely remove the TV. The QN85C itself is amazingly thin. Inputs are all side mounted and recessed, and include 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs with eARC on HDMI 3, 2 USB ports (it seems only one of which supports data) and Ethernet. The stand is small and unimposing, but because of its thinness and port arrangement, the QN85C really shines when mounted.Initial setup is a lengthy process, but it serves as an introduction to some of the TV’s features. Though comprehensive, there are some features that setup doesn’t explore. Most notably disabling whatever they are calling smooth motion or clear motion these days on all ports(I believe it’s Motion Xcelerator Plus), and using the smart phone assisted calibration. If you have used the latter feature on the newer Apple TVs, you might have experienced your TV compensating with the changes with dynamic contrast, ruining your calibration. The same technology applied to the TV rather than one specific input device not only makes this feature work with dynamic settings rather than against them, it is also available on all inputs. Once I performed this calibration, the QN85C really shined. The small remote is a welcomed changed to my 8 previous Samsung remotes. All those former models had the same bulky design, except that more buttons were added on newer models. The TV UI has now improved enough where a basic pointer device suffices for most controls. The included remote is reminiscent of Apple’s Siri remote, only made of plastic and without the tracking area. A nice unique feature of the Samsung remote is the solar charger.Generally Smart TV interfaces are clunky compared to dedicated streaming devices. Almost all TV’s use some variant of a never-ending single-line horizontal app scroller. The QN85C is no different here, and doubles down on this idea by including the input ports as apps. The difference here is that while on most TV’s remote lag and slow processing makes the apps themselves useless. The apps on the QN85C are speedy enough to be useful if you like the interface. I prefer the Apple TV.The Samsung QN85C instantly picked up my Apple TV, including a custom input name and icon and enabling CEC options. CEC being enabled automatically is nice for two reasons: I don’t have to scroll through a list of apps to find the HDMI 1 source input and the Samsung remote maps its similar button layout to the Apple TV automatically. The micro dimming QLED display is a game changer. Local dimming in lower tech passive LED displays can get confused by unevenly lit scenes, and change some dark levels to greys or washed out colors. In the QN85C, this effect is not noticeable. The result is great dynamic contrast, even in complex scenes. While high end active displays like OLED may still have a slight step up in this regard, they can’t match the brightness of the QN85C. If your TV is in a sunlit room, this TV will not disappoint. On the topic of brightness, the QN85C can dynamically adjust brightness. This feature sets the brightness of the set according to the ambient light in the room. This is especially useful at night, considering how bright this tv is. It’s not perfect: in a completely dark room this technology can get tricked by bright scenes, and sometimes increases the brightness during a bright scene. This is likely due to the light from the tv reflecting off the walls and tricking the sensor. After completing setup and adjusting my screen preferences, my first impression of the picture quality of Samsung’s QN85C: it’s good enough to ruin movies. It was easy to tell in modern, huge budget actions films when characters are chroma keyed or the exact moment that computer animation is used. The contrast is good enough to add a decent level of depth to 2D movies. There is some advertised audio trickery which sounds vaguely Atmosy. I don’t know about mapping the audio in our room because I didn’t see a setup for this feature, but it is suggested that this is a dynamic process. I will say two things about this: I don’t notice any Atmos or surround effects in any of the movies I’ve watched on this set, but this TV has excellent standard audio. Sometimes it’s difficult to understand advertising jargon, but it’s possible that the TV is constantly monitoring the room to provide the best sound possible. Considering how thin this panel is, it’s a testament that all of my (much thicker) household TVs require a sound bar to understand dialogue, but the QN85C does not. Nonetheless I am compelled to add one to this set because of the eARC port and Q-Symphony feature. I have not used this feature yet, but from the claims Q-Symphony seems to add the TV’s speakers into the ambient Atmos mix of a compatible sound bar. Sounds cool if it works. The audio on my set did cut out completely the second time I used this TV. I checked the mute and volume several times, went through every input and a couple smart apps, and eventually used the built in sound test. All produced no audio at all at any volume. Turning the set off and on didn’t help, and I was certain that my new TV was broken. As a last ditch effort I unplugged the TV for 5 minutes and plugged it back in, which fixed the sound. Though this issue has not returned, there is anecdotal evidence, included other reviewers of this set, that this is not an isolated issue. This is a five star TV. I’m struggling to knock even one star off for this sound issue, as it might be isolated to a few early sets. If it is addressed in a future hardware or firmware update, I will adjust my rating, but the bottom line is that there is a possibility that either software testing or quality control might not be up to Samsung’s standards.

Easy to get Beautiful Picture, Sound & Use

This SAMSUNG 55-Inch Class Neo QLED 4K QN85C Series Neo Quantum HDR, Dolby Atmos, Object Tracking Sound, Motion Xcelerator Turbo +, Gaming Hub, Smart Tv is the easiest use Tv I have ever owned. I am a Samsung fan for years now, and am always pleased with the brilliant screen quality and user friendly design. This set is practically plug and play. Even the remote is innovative requiring only strong light to recharge instead of pricey batteries. The remote arrived already charged which made me happy. The remote is compact but thoughtfully made so that when you turn it over for recharging the buttons are not scraping the surface. The screen picture almost leaps into the room at this size and dynamic tracking Dolby Atmos sound allows crisp hearing no matter where you are in the room. I see no need to add a sound bar. This is a bonus for a clean single unit look and I love it. This set can be wall or stand mounted, (feet included). Would I buy another Samsung? You bet! See my pictures for use.

Would be Great except some sound issues

Editing review to add more about sound issues: the sound has cut out after using Xbox for extended periods of time or while connected to our phone via Bluetooth to listen to music. Each time we have lost sound, we get a network connection error (we don’t stay connected to internet due to limited internet in our area). Most times a simple turn off and back on again will restore sound. Sometimes we have to unplug the TV from the wall outlet for a minute before plugging back in to restore sound. It has become very frustrating and happens more frequently, sometimes several times a day now. We’ve only had the TV just over a week.**original review**This TV is thin and lightweight. The stand was simple to install, only 8 screws and I was good to go.The remote is tiny and simplistic in design. The buttons to control the volume and change channels are quite sensitive and easily changed if something bumps them. The remote also doesn’t take batteries, instead it has a solar panel on the back to charge it or can be charged via USB-C power cord (not included but I have several lying around). I haven’t tested charging the remote just yet, as it came charged and ready to go. There are preset buttons on the remote to access popular streaming apps, and it can be used with a voice assistant such as Amazon’s Alexa. The remote can be set up as a universal remote to control all of your TV connected devices (cable/satellite box, gaming consoles, etc). While I have had issues setting the remote up to control my Dish Hopper (I have the newest hopper so perhaps it’s just not available in the TV’s catalog of devices yet), it does work with our Xbox One with no issues. The picture on this TV is stunning and better than any TV I’ve had in the past. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful, it’s surreal. On most shows and movies (both older and new) the detail and depth of the picture is so realistic it almost looks fake. I don’t really know how to describe it except it feels 3D without being 3D. The details that can be seen are amazing, so much is more detail noticeable both in the foreground and in the background. Dark scenes in movies are brighter and there is just so much more to see, almost as if watching the movie for the first time. Seriously, rewatch your favorite movies, I bet you’ll notice something new that you didn’t before. The sound is the only aspect of this TV that I’m not impressed with. We’ve had issues with the sound randomly going out and no amount of adjusting the volume, turning the mute on/off, or messing with the sound settings would fix it. The only thing that normally would fix it would be to turn the TV completely off and back on again. One time, turning the TV off and back on didn’t even help, we had to unplug it and do a factory reset of the settings before it came back on. So far this has only happened while playing our Xbox One console, but it does not happen every time, nor every day. This sound issue is the reason for deducting 2 stars from my review. With that sound issue addressed, here is my overall sound review. This TV claims to have 3D sound, to more fully immerse the viewer into the show/movie. Despite adjusting sound settings multiple times, I haven’t noticed anything noteworthy other than at times it seems the background sound is louder than dialog, but hard to say if that is the show or the TV. There are claims that the 3D sound works best with a sound bar or surround sound system, neither of which I have so maybe that’s why I don’t notice anything remarkable about the TV’s sound. Still good quality sound, just nothing special in my opinion. The internet features are great. You can download many different streaming apps as well as gaming apps. We have used the Xbox gaming hub to play Fortnight. It was simple enough to connect our Xbox controller to the TV to play the game. The game was played through cloud gaming, so no downloading of the actual game required. Most of the available games require an Xbox game pass subscription to play, but there are a few free games available (Like Fortnight). I’m not sure how the other gaming apps work as I didn’t test them (we’re an Xbox family) but I assume it’s similar. I also testing out some video streaming services such as Disney Plus and Netflix. They work as expected and we’re easy to set up through this TV. There is also an Ambient feature that has a selection of photographs and artwork to display on the TV along with some motions and/or soundsOverall my family and I are very happy with every aspect of the TV. Other than the random sound issue, we have had no other problems.

    Amazon stands behind their products!

We purchased this TV on Amazon and it was delivered fairly quickly. Out of the box the TV did not work. Samsung gave me crap but Amazon made it right by sending a new operable TV and shipped the non-working one back. We are thankful it worked out well, BUY THE ADDITIONAL WARRANTY! As for the TV it is bright, big, and has good sound. No written material comes with this TV, from what I can see Samsung is too cheap to provide a user’s manual. You have to hunt and peck and tab around to find your way and hopefully you find what you were after. My past experience with Samsung was great, we had a smart TV for 17 years. This time not so much pleased with them at all. I will only recommend to others with a caution to buy the extended warranty!

    Tv is great/the support stinks

A young man and woman delivered and unpacked the TV. They were very professional. The TV is great. Hope I don’t have a problem because the support people are the most rude and arrogant people on earth. The agent would ask a question. I would answer and he’d would ask the same question again. 5 stars for the TV, 5 Stars for the delivery team and 0 Stars for support. Appears that they het nasty so you will hang up.

I almost cant believe how bright and vibrant the colors are. Coming from a 4k LED that is only 5 years old I didnt expect to be so amazed by the picture quality. I really bought it to go from 70 to 85 inches, not because I wanted better image quality, but wow, very noticeable.

Picture is wonderful and shipping worked out fine.

Based on negative shipping reviews I was really nervous about ordering online through amazon. TV came laying down in the truck with a furniture box crushing it. Expected the TV to be crushed but to my surprise it worked great when they took it out of the box. The TV itself is wonderful. The Neo QNED has a wonderful picture and clean image. Remote is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Reminds me of the older 2015 model remotes which I really liked. TV has a million options for adjustments etc. My PS5 really pops. Almost overwhelming at first. My work has a LG QNED 85 which is a little less in price but this TV in my opinion performs much better. Well worth the money.

    Destroyed somewhere along the line

I realize that our experience with this TV is not Samsung’s fault but buying a large device like this on Amazon, you have to take certain things into consideration, like the contractor they use who take absolutely no care in getting your item to you. I can’t say where this thing was destroyed or when but something was clearly dropped on it. It was not visible at all until we tried to turn it on and saw this flash. It obviously doesn’t work. It is heavy and now we have to get it back downstairs and rebox it for pickup. We ended up buying another, someplace else. Hopefully those people will handle it better. If our local big box store had it, I would of just said, heck with it and gone there. Edit: While reboxing it, I found a paper taped to the box from 1-2 months earlier where it had been delivered to someone halfway across the country from us and they refused it. I wonder why. The box looked like it had been bounced around in a truck months. We got our replacement from another source and had absolutely no issues.

    Dang the best tv

Nothing to dislike. Color, sharpness and crystal clear. Screen jumps right out at you. Son in law set it up and said easy to do. Did have to use 2 controllers but I did already. No biggie. He did say it was sorta heavy. It’s everything I wanted. I did do alot of research 1st and this had everything and cheaper. Only had it 2 days it I so love it already. Going to play a movie in a minute. Do your research but this is the best one with all bells and whistles.

    This Smart TV doesn’t disappoint

First off, this television screen is huge, clear, bright, and super responsive. The Q-Symphony sound processor is truly awesome allowing me to mix and match speakers from the built-ins, surround satellites, even bluetooth sound bars and subs to enhance viewing with multi-channel surround audio. This screen has most of the bells and whistles you want without being ridiculously over priced. I haven’t seen a better picture on any large 4K capable screen. There may be a couple of features available in the 90-95 series that hardcore gamers will need, but for us mortals with only one life, this is a pretty darn nice smart tv and it didn’t break the bank.

    Wow

Great TV and great picture.. BUT not as easy to set up and I feel that my old QLED 49″ was better in sound and picture. I use an HD Air Antenna and it is not as clear as it was on my regular QLED TV. The colors are more blown up and the image is not as sharp and clear.Set up was easy, but the controls and functions are not easily accessible as it was on the QLED. The NEO QLED has some great new auto features and special gaming and menu functions, but I prefer the setting and menu mapping and selection of the QLED TV models instead.Watching Netflix is pretty good in HD mode but the blacks aren’t as rich and color seems to exaggerated no matter the tweeks. If you don’t watch watch HD and above, you’ll see a lot of jagged edges and poor picture quality and fuzzy screen and pixels.Still working through the kinks and understanding all the control choices and it’s only been a month… But if I had a choice, I’d have taken this back and gotten a regular 55″QLED 80 perhaps as I think the sound and picture is clearer and better.

    What Manual?

I am going to give this Samsung 85″ Qled tv a 4 out of 5 and I have yet to plug it in as I am waiting for help in hanging this monster on the wall. The missing star is for the missing manual. It says a manual is enclosed and I am looking right at it and there is no manual. There are plenty of websites who would like to sell me a manual for this tv. How did they get a manual? I would like my manual. Hey Samsung…why not send me my manual. I would hate to send this tv back because it is missing the manual. Is it just me or has Samsung just decided to pass on enclosing the manual?

    Thin w/ Great Picture

This is a great television option for wall mounting. It is very thin, so it can be mounted very snug up against the wall so that it barely protrudes from the wall at all (assuming that you use a mount that is designed to hang a TV close to the wall). It sticks out only slightly further than a standard picture frame. The picture quality of this TV is excellent and the HDR feature is very good and really helps make the picture look super realistic. I have not had any issues with motion blur or other things that sometimes detract from a viewing experience. The audio quality is decent for a slim TV. If you want truly high end sound quality, you should rely a surround sound setup or at the very minimum, a good soundbar. However, if you just want decent sound and don’t want to go to the expense or trouble of an external sound system, the onboard speakers on this TV produce very decent sound. The smart features on this TV are excellent. I am using this TV in a location that does not have easy access to connecting the TV to external sources, such as a cable box. I happen to live in an area that has access to Spectrum internet and over the past few years, they have developed a native Spectrum app on Samsung televisions that allows you to stream live Spectrum TV service. Due to that, I am able to use the Spectrum app on this TV to get live TV and all of the other standard apps (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.) to get any other content that I want. With this TV and a Spectrum TV plan, I am able to have a comprehensive package of entertainment options without having to plug any cords into this TV. The only thing that I had to plug in was the power cord. Everything else is wireless and the performance is very good. All that said, there is a good array of HDMI and other connection options if you do want to connect external sources to this TV.Overall, I am very pleased with this TV.

Misleading Marketing, Somewhat Irritating Setup & Input Management, Very Good Sound

I want to start by staying that I’m really, really tired of Samsung throwing mentions of the One Connect box around on TVs that don’t include it. To be fair, the product photo that shows the inputs does show the inputs on the TV itself, but one of the other photos clearly mentions that the One Connect box is included in the box. I absolutely love the idea of the One Connect box, and it’s a huge bummer that this TV doesn’t have it, despite one of the product photos suggesting otherwise.I can’t comment on the quality of the stand, as I wall-mounted this particular TV. I have the 55″ model, and I’m very pleased with how easy it was to wall-mount by myself. I wouldn’t recommend this for everyone, and the mount you choose certainly makes a difference in terms of how intuitive the process is, but I felt that the mounting process went very smoothly. Unfortunately, since the inputs are on the TV itself, and the mount I purchased only supports portrait mode in one direction, I’ll need to use some overly long cables to allow the sort of flexibility I want in rotating this for certain games. The setup process is simple but tends to favor misleading you into doing unnecessary things. Between data sharing terms you don’t need to accept, a Samsung account you don’t need, and maybe one or two other things I’m probably forgetting at the moment, I really just wish more of these screens flat-out had a “Skip” button on them, rather than relying on you to skip through them with button presses that aren’t all that intuitive within the moment.Using the TV is mostly a pleasant experience for basic use, but Samsung’s “smart” input management system is still overzealous as ever, making it a serious pain to deal with. Also, Samsung’s made it somewhat unintuitive to find more advanced options and continues to mistreat PCs with respect to default profile inputs for that device type. That said, everything I’ve watched thus far on this TV has looked great, and I’m really impressed with the built-in speakers. Even on the Standard sound mode, dialog has been really easy for me to hear, and the other available modes seem to make audio even better under certain use cases.I essentially use Samsung TVs as glorified PC monitors, so I can’t really get into the ins and outs of Tizen OS. If I wanted to use the smart features on a TV, then I’d probably go with a different app platform, especially since I’m not a fan of how Samsung pushes its account system. That said, if you’ve liked Samsung’s TVs in the past, then you’ll probably like this one.

    Amazing TV All Around!

If you’re used to only having $400 Smart TVs and you switch to this you’ll never want to go back to a budget TV ever again! The most impressive thing for me personally is the almost instantaneous response time to selecting any apps, channels, settings menu navigation everything loads the moment you select it! That applies to the streaming movies as well every TV in my house and even on my fire Stick, everything always seems to take ages to load the actual content. Mind you I am on 1Gbps Up/Down fiber internet so in theory not a single device in the home should have any issues with speed trying to download and start playing a show or movie. Yet it does, but that is not the case with this Samsung. The moment I select a show it starts playing immediately and I’ve been spoiled with this ever since. I’d much rather watch my shows and movies on this 55-in then I would on the 75-in in the living room for the response time alone! LolIt has a solar remote which is really ergonomic and convenient because you don’t have to point it at the television for it to work it is RF controlled instead of IR which is great especially when it’s cold and I don’t want to get out from under the blanket, not even my arm to change the channel, I don’t have to with this! Is a very thin sleek remote that I’ll never have to buy batteries for and has the same high quality feel as the TV itself. When it comes down to gaming though this TV really shines! My son hooked his PS5 up to it and the picture quality was unbelievably crisp and beautiful! Deep blacks with incredibly bright vibrant colors makes for an awesome gaming experience. Even with lots of light flooding the room you can see everything clear as day on this TV. On top of that it’s extremely thin with a very fine thin bezel around the edge of the screen so it gives off the appearance of almost being edgeless.I have always loved Samsung products, I have Samsung soundbars, Samsung computer monitors, Samsung cellular phone and everything integrates seamlessly just as I imagine the Apple ecosystem would function like. Overall I feel like five stars doesn’t even begin to do justice for the rating on this TV! It really deserves a hundred stars or better! It’s so good that I will never buy a budget Smart TV ever again after these large ones go I’m just going to have to pony up the extra couple thousand and buy TVs in this class going forward. I always thought it was never worth the additional money but come to find out after having played with it for over a month now I’ve come to realize that being cheap was only adding to my own aggravation in the long run. Never again! If you’re in the market for a television strongly suggest putting this one in your top three contenders list, you absolutely will not regret it!

    Very Impressive Viewing Experience!

There are a hundred different mumbo-jumbo technical terms that TV-makers throw around to make it sound like their TV is better than the others, but I really don’t care much about that. The proof is in the viewing experience, and this TV delivers big time. From the first moment of the first show we watched on this TV, my family and I were blown away by the clarity, brightness, and vibrant colors of the people and objects on the screen. It was like the people were standing there right in front of us and we could reach out and touch them. My kids were like “Mom! You have to get in here and see this!”Unboxing and set-up were easy. It takes 8 screws to attach the stand to the TV. The TV is remarkably thin, a little less than 1 inch deep. The bezel, the border around the screen, is less than 1/8 inch, meaning essentially the entire height and width is just screen, even around the bottom where there is often a thicker border to house buttons and lights. The solar-powered remote (yes, I said solar-powered) is simple and quite small, a bit too small for me actually. I know simple and small is trendy, but a more traditional, larger remote gets lost between the cushions less often and was anybody really saying “I need a smaller remote because this one is too bulky to lift when changing channels.” They also tried to have as few buttons as possible on the remote, which is another non-user-friendly trend. I would have liked to see a settings menu button, a picture mode button, and a mute button. The software and interface work great. All the common streaming platforms are preloaded, just log in and watch your shows. Samsung’s streaming app, Samsung TV plus has tons of channels that you can scroll through with a channel guide, like traditional cable TV. Very nice! The sound is good as far as I can tell, but we aren’t blasting anything too loud. Viewing angle was great from all reasonable angles and we haven’t noticed any annoying glare.Technologically, I did learn that the Neo QLED is an LCD with mini LED backlighting, whereas the standard Samsung QLED (not with Neo) has the standard size LED backlights. Smaller backlights in the Neo version allow for more granular dimming or lighting of more areas over the screen. I was surprised to learn that QLEDs are not actually OLEDs. True OLEDs will still deliver better blacks, but the Neo QLED can produce much greater brightness. In addition to that, you have 4K and AI-powered 4K upscaling, which seems nearly unbelievable, but I’ll take their word for it. Despite all this technology, I was a little disappointed while watching basketball. There was pixilation, streaking, ghosting, etc., around fast-moving players. Hopefully I can improve this with a picture setting adjustment.Overall, I think this TV is fantastic, well-though-out, and a pleasure to use and watch.

Wow – great as a PC Monitor

Been using Samsung 55 inch TVs for PC monitor for years now. This one is superb, supports HDR and the PC and TV talk between each other as long as using the correct HDMI cable and it is plugged into HDMI port 4 (Game Port) on the TV. It even supports Nvidia G-Sync with the EVGA Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra 24 GB GDDR6X card. The HDMI cable being used is “Maxonar 8K HDMI Cables 10FT, [Certified] Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable, 8K60Hz 4K120Hz 144Hz, 48Gbps HDCP 2.2&2.3 eARC Dynamic HDR Dolby for PS5, Xbox Series X, Apple TV 4K, Roku/Samsung/Sony TV”.
