Description:
The Rockville HTS56 5.1 Channel Home Theater System is the solution to your surround sound needs. The system is capable of 1000 watts peak power and 500 watts program, with 250 watts continuous RMS. We tested this system and it really hurt our ears. It’s crazy loud! This complete home theater system features two full range 3” front speakers, two full range 3” rear speakers, a center speaker, and an 8” subwoofer. The speaker cabinets are made of strong MDF material and not particleboard like some systems out there. Each speaker has its own volume control so they can be adjusted independently. We include long length cables with RCA connectors. This allows you to quickly and easily mount the speakers wherever you want.
One thing worth mentioning about conventional 5.1 channel systems is that when you play music using bluetooth or the radio or even other non HD sources you only get sound out of the two front speakers. With the Rockville HTS56 you can listen to music using any source and all 5 of the speakers and the subwoofer will always play together. You will get surround sound whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or using the radio.
The 8” subwoofer provides super clear deep, rich bass with no rattling or discernible distortion even at high volumes. It has a built in media player/receiver with digital readout, a 5-band EQ, FM radio, Bluetooth, SD/USB input, and two ¼” MIC inputs with echo control for Karaoke on the front. On the rear you have 5 RCA audio outputs, 6 RCA DVD audio inputs, 2 RCA AUX inputs, and an FM antenna input. There are also 5 RCA inputs to power each speaker’s LED. A full function remote control is included so you never have to leave the comfort of your chair. The system also features an LED light system with multiple modes. The subwoofer LEDs can be set to blink to the beat, look like an EQ spectrum analyzer, or change colors (constant or cycle). The satellite speakers have cool blue LEDs that can be turned on or off.

It’s ok if it’s your first sound system
If you have a 5.1 true surround system, this is not. If you never had one this one you might like. Pro’s and con’s coming later. I returned it, got a refund with no problem, but if you have to return it you need to re-box and same box and take it to Fedex pick up spot. Dollar General was the only place near me, she gave me some crap that box was to big, I smoothed talked her that it would fit on they’re return shelve . I had to take it in myself and put it on the return shelve, it fit, but a very close call, if it didn’t, I would had to travel 20 miles to a Fedex drop off. So save the box!! Ok, it say’s 1,000 watts, no way, I’ve had 1,000 watt systems in my life and this is not a 1,000 watt system. My current Samsung unit’s are 450 watts and are louder then this thing. Current units I have, have the rear speakers wireless to the front main unit. This unit you have to run wires form the rear to the front. That’s a pain in the butt (think about how you going to hide them?) I tested this unit just by running rear wires over the carpet to make sure a gave it a fair chance, it was ok, but not good. No 5.1 sound, if your use to 5.1 sound. Again, if you want it for a garage or it’s your first sound system you might like it? For me I thought this could kind’a be ok, not what I’m use to. For me my next one will cost a crap load of more$$$$! lolPro’s: Not bad for the price if you know what your getting! Everything worked Lights are cool, and your able to turn them all offCon’s: Shipping back could be a problem?

Great Sound
The only thing I dislike about my set up is my television isn’t BT compatible, so with the Optical option, you have to put the TV on Optical and turn off Dolby or it makes a horrible sound. Otherwise, great sound.

Speakers stopped functioning properly within 6 months
The product worked great for about 6 months. That’s when the sound would stop and all you can hear is a buzzing noise. This would happen any time there was a sound with significant bass. This would happen repeatedly while trying to play a game or watch a movie. I even replaced the cords and wires and it still happens. Reconnecting the cords would fix the problem but then it would just start again.I spent time with their customer service people trying to troubleshoot my problem and they were kind and courteous but unfortunately they sent a defective product. They had me ship the speakers to a repair center which cost me 56$ (they won’t cover the cost). They returned the speakers with a sticker that said “repaired” on them but with no paperwork detailing any work that had been done on the item. Not only did the returned speakers not work, they wouldn’t even turn on. My suspicion is they want to avoid sending a new set of speakers (as they said they would if the couldn’t be repaired) and leave their customer with a broken product. I haven’t heard back from them but I am guess they will try and blame the packaging and leave me trying to make a claim with FedEx.If they can resolve this situation by sending me functional speakers, I will happily change my review, but I am still waiting. I believe as a customer I have already shown more than enough patience and even put my own money down trying to get their defective speakers repaired.UPDATE: Rockville concluded that I had been given a defective product and gave me a brand new replacement. I changed my review from one star to four stars to reflect this. Thank you to Rockville for making me whole.

I know where to get a cheap eq and two speakers to make this system perfect
While I really wanted to love this system I just couldn’t. Yes, the bass bumps and while that is nice it’s painful how many frequencies the back side speakers buzz on even at very low volumes. It just doesn’t process them properly and with no EQ settings you can’t even try to correct it, the individual speaker volume level control isn’t nearly enough, but I’ll get back to that. While those two speakers were a disappointment, I will say that I was very pleased with the other three speakers and the sub. The quality of sound out of those four pieces is fantastic and I’ve really enjoyed being able to hook it up to my T.V. for watching movies and have my music playing. This unit easily fills my little apartment with sound. The trouble starts to set back in when you need to adjust the audio levels so you can hear the dialogue in a movie or get a little more clarity out of a song.. You need to adjust each speakers volume independently to draw out or decrease that speakers natural frequency range, but seeing as the three good ones seem to operate in the same range all you can really do is decrease or increase all tones aside from the bass, or the bass itself. My back side speakers live on -10 and still buzz all the time on all sorts of frquencies and if I even want to really turn it up I switch the unit to 2.1 and/or disconnect them entirely. If you just need to tweak the bass this isn’t so bad, you just turn it up or down. While there are EQ + and – buttons they seem to have no function, upon further investigation it only seems to work through the USB input and accesses the devices eq.. not sure how you switch which part it is altering though. The head unit which is also the sub has almost no controls, which I knew ahead of time and was fine with until the item arrived with no remote control which was extremely frustrating. They did manage to get me a remote after a handful of emails. It took a few weeks to get here, but no big deal. My issue is more that the remote only seems to want to work from about 5 feet away and has to be pointed right at the unit for it to work, and even then it often seems takes a minute for it to realise you hit a button and often have to press, wait a few seconds, press, wait, press, etc. It gets moody..Though, I must say, the absolute weirdest thing about this system.. it will pick up CB radio and ither similar transmissions when it is in Standby mode. So if you live near anyone that makes use of radio communications you may need to go to great lengths to identify the source and find out if they can switch they’re broadcasting channel or you’ll be sitting in silence on morning, sipping your coffee, preparing for your day and suddenly a booming voice asks if you copy. Made for an interesting day at least. It wasn’t the worst purchase I ever made and while I don’t plan on changing it out any time soon.. looking back.. I wish I had gotten something else.

Great Bass for your buck!$!$
Well I wanted a total 5.1 surround sound system for my living room and chose the Rockville HTS56 system. The system comes with 2 front speakers 2 rear, 1 center, and a subwoofer. I am really impressed with the sound clarity and bass from this product. You can adjust the sound volume for each speaker using the remote control. If you dont like the led lights on the front of the speakers you can just simply unplug the led cables. For $150 you really cannot beat this product. Sure you can spend $150 and get a nice Samsung Soundbar but if you are looking for a complete system while on a tight budget. This one should be your pick. It comes with an adapter to plug into your headphone jack on your television. This enables all devices that are plugged into your tv to play out of the speakers.I tested this product out on a few movies such as Transformers, Sicario, and John Wick. The sound quality was really good and the bass is incredibly loud while maintaining the clarity from the other speakers. I was overall thoroughly impressed with this product. An added bonus is the bluetooth feature. You can play music or any type of media from your phone to play out of this system. If you are into radio, it does have fm radio built into it as well. The stations are hit or miss, depending on where you live. I really believe this product is worth the $150 for 5.1 surround sound. If you want to have that movie theater experience without leaving the comforts of your own home, this is a solid option for you!Cons: If you have a large living room such as mine, the rear speaker wires included may come up a little short of being perfectly placed but with some moving of your furniture, this is not really that big of a deal.If you are considering this product, I have used it everyday now since January 3, 2020 and it has been a pretty good experience. No technical issues to report and really easy to assemble. Hope this review helps you in your decision for a good quality budget sound system.

Basic but dependable and not bad sounding!
I really like this product for a few reasons, the first being the price. It was priced right it sounds good and i love the different color lights and the ability to change them and their sequence in which they are displayed. They are super light weight which make them feel cheap but it still is good quality in my opinion. The cons are minimal but important:First they are so light they movie if set up but not anchored down.Sometimes the blue tooth connectivity has to be attempted a couple of times.Lastly i would strongly recommend getting a completely full wireless version of this product, ultimately you will enjoy it more if your not having to hide cords and speaker wires!

Ok, but noisy…
When the speakers have audio run through them, they sound good. However, they have large boxes for no reason… and worst of all, when not in use they have a loud hum. It’s audible from the door to the room. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. It’s on an optical input, it’s got no other wires / cords near the speaker wire to the center speaker, and yet center hums the loudest. All of the speakers hum some. Extremely annoying. This is setup on one of the comps in my office, and now I get an annoying hum in the background when using any other comp in the room.

Great for the price
TLDR: If you have a couple hundred bucks and want a starter-level home theater system that will help you figure out what you want in a future, high-quality theater system, definitely pick this up. Buy a DAC to go with it, too. Throw the whole thing in a man-cave after it’s outlived its usefulness.Nice system for the price, but it belongs in a man-cave or office, not as a real theater setup like I intended it for in the living room. I expected this going in, based on other reviews, so I have no regrets about this purchase. I bought it because I have never had a theater system, and have never been to someone’s house that had one, so this was my first experience with using anything related to “surround sound” and I wanted to use this as a learning experience.Pros:It’s loud. Very loud. So loud that I’m sure my neighbors knew when I had installed it. Simple to setup. Pretty straightforward to use. Great for watching TV and most movies (more on this soon).Cons:The fidelity of the speakers is not amazing, which is what I expected for the price and why I would not use this system to listen to music. The lack of fidelity is very noticeable on music, but I would say hardly noticeable (if at all) when watching most movies/TV. The primary drawback, for me, was its inability to decode digital 5.1 signal, and why I say MOST movies/TV. It will ACCEPT digital signal through SPDIF, but can only read PCM encoding (which carries 2.1 instead of 5.1). It cannot decode actual surround sound signal. It can only decode left, right, and subwoofer (the 2.1 signal), and this is a best-guess scenario when the audio is downgraded from 5.1/7.1 to 2.1. So most of the time it’s fine, but some soundtracks end up very… odd. Like for Justice League, the music was extremely quiet most of the time, while dialogue, explosions, and everything else sounded great. Still watchable, but very jarring.RECCOMENDED TO GO WITH IT:I bought a $40 DAC (digital audio convertor) to decode the SPDIF 5.1 channels to 6 RCA plugs, and plugged those into the theater system. Real 5.1 surround sound achieved. Jank workaround, but everything sounds SO much nicer.

Like clear display.Dislike remote light control only controls lights on the Subwoofer unit can not turn the individual speakers lights on the satellites or front channel speakers.Styling is a bit gaudy for my taste.Sound great good surround effects. Be careful with the adjustments!
I read all the reviews before buying the Rockville stereo, they all seemed to be outstanding reviews so I had to give this stereo a chance. I mainly purchased this stereo because I wanted to update the older Bose stereo I have with a more modern on which is bluetooth capable because I listen to Apple music almost constantly and hated that I couldn’t play it on my stereo, granted this Rockville stereo is no way close to being a Bose. When it arrived the very first thing I noticed that I was disappointed about was the center speaker, I thought it would be longer and was disability because I wanted it laying in front of my television, to be honest all of the speakers are shorter then I thought they would be. Taking into consideration that all the speakers only have two 3 inch speakers in them other then the 8 inch subwoofer, it does in fact sound fairly good, unless you go in turning up each individual speaker as they distort and rattle. I seen several reviews saying there is absolutely no distortion or rattling but there can be depending on how you set it and the remote control is pretty confusing for a simple, cheap stereo system. The led lights on the speakers and main body are probably pretty cool to most people but I myself find them annoying, the led lights on the main body have a variety of settings but the speakers themselves only have one setting and can not be turned off. The only other thing about this stereo that I really do not care for is that the subwoofer is actually in the main body of the stereo, so if you have the stereo body on a table or bookshelf, anything sitting on there with it will rattle around and can fall off. There is some bass with this stereo, it is not superb but it is actually very good for a cheaper stereo system. Another annoying feature of this stereo is when it is shut off, there are two red lines that constantly blink where the screen is on the main body, I have no idea why they thought this would be a good idea, I mean when the stereo is off, it should remain off. The main body also has a knob on it with some stereo control features, it is very basic and doesn’t control to much at all of what this stereo can do. In order to use all of the stereo functions you need to use the remote, so if you misplace the remote or if the remote is damaged then you won’t be able to use most of the control features. Being able to adjust all of the speakers individually is very nice, that way if from where you are sitting or standing you can adjust them so you get the most out of each speaker but again that will most likely lead to some distortion or rattling. So far the bluetooth has worked pretty good, I have not had any disconnections but I have had some interference of some sort to where the stereo would get quite soft while listening to it at an elevated level, I am not sure what caused that but I think it was an app lagging or something. Overall, I would say for the money that this is without doubt your best option to get a good sounding stereo with bluetooth capabilities, it sounds very good and has some decent enough bass so you would be able to listen to your favorite songs and enjoy the experience whether you enjoy some classical, country, Americana or some loud rock or some hard hitting rap.

***WORTH YOUR MONEY, AMAZING SOUND***
I am very happy with my purchase and satisfied with its sound! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANY PICKY AUDIOPHILE ON A BUDGET!This sound system impressed me! Crispy clear sound with an amazingly deep bass that can be adjusted without affecting the volume level of the rest 5 speakers (because they are 5 speakers and a subwoofer, total of 6 – [3 speaker units with 2 speakers per unit as front speakers, 2 speaker units with 1 speaker in each unit as side speakers, and a powerful subwoofer]), one master volume button for all the speakers, but also additional buttons to control each speaker volume level without affecting the rest of speakers, .✓Bluetooth 5.1 and 2.1 enabled and which can be switch between them at your desire.✓Auxilliar enabled.✓SD card reader enabled to play the songs stored in the SD card.✓USB port.✓ 2 micro phone ports for kareoke fun, with EQ-/+ DISP-/+ MIC-/+ ECHO-/+ buttons to add flair to the mic sound.✓Remote control that controls EVERYTHING.✓ LED blue lights on all speakers. Just the subwoofer’s LED lights can be set to change colors with different blinking styles including sound activated ones. ✓FM radio enabled that can be programmed to save favorite stations.✓ DVD input to connect a DVD player.✓ Sleep programmable enabled to stop playing and turn of at your desired time length. It comes with all the cables needed to connect all the system together and very easy to connect, the only bad thing is that the instructions booklet is in black and white and there are connections with different colors, but since is in Black and White you can’t see which one goes where because all the lines that show which one goes where are black, if they were in color then it would be easier to connect all the speakers in their respective jacks without problems or doubts, but since the instructions are in black and white you have to kind of figure out which one goes where. The only thing missing in the whole system is a pair of AAA batteries needed to work the remote control -that you have to come up with. The volume level goes from 1 to 60 but enough to shake the walls with the powerful bass which makes the subwoofer slide around with the vibration it generates, so I don’t recommend you to set the subwoofer on a table, coffee table, end table, or any kind of surface higher than the floor or else when you less expect it will slide off of it and fall to the floor damaging/breaking the unit. It almost happened to me, I caught it in time before the unit would’ve fell on the floor. When I found this out I immediately set the unit on the floor and there it is going to be for the rest of its life. I thought you should know that. And which is not explained or warned anywhere, neither in any reviews I have read about this product. It might have other features I don’t know of yet and which I will add here where I discover them. Also I haven’t try the mic features for kareoke, but once I try them I will add them here as well.I really recommend you this sound system. It’s amazingly awesome! I am very picky about the sound output of my speakers and devices and I have a good sense of what sounds satisfyingly.

Amazing junk
So I made this purchase a few weeks ago. It took two weeks to receive the product. I was a little disappointed, but it was fine. It arrived while I was out of town for work and was waiting for me when I got back home. Easter Sunday I woke up and said, let’s open it up. It was packaged wonderfully. Everything was wrapped neatly as well as securely. I tan all my wiring, plugged it in and was quite impressed. The sound quality was very nice. Everything was working perfectly. It was about fifteen minutes in that I went out into the living room to see if I could hear it outside of my room. It sounded like a movie theater inside the room, so I needed to check the loudness. As I was walking back into my room, I noticed there was no sound. I thought, hmmm, what could be the issue? Well, it turns out that while I was checking the lower on the back, as well as the power chord and outlet is was plugged in to, I noticed a burning smell from inside the receiver/sub woofer. It completely died. Fried up and didn’t even have it hooked for half an hour. So I contacted the seller. It has taken another week to get everything situated. Took a week to get all the shipping information and labels. Now I still have yet to receive my refund. I would have rather just had another receiver sent so I could send the old one back, but instead, I had pull everything back out, repackage it, and send it all back. This has been one hell of an experience and will never purchase anything from them again. I needed up going to Walmart and purchasing a Vizio surround that actually sounds better, plus, it was a little cheaper. It would be a great product if it actually worked. Buy at your own risk.

STYLE OVER SOUND
I had a bit of a dilemma writing this review. I have a lot of love for this product, it’s made with great quality parts, has an amazing style and led program, and was at a great price. That all aside I have to be honest with myself and for those who read this. The sound quality is mediocre at best. Not only does it not get very loud but it has no equalizer or settings whatsoever that allow you to change the way it is. Thankfully there are many third party apps and programs out there that will allow you to do so and you can get them and use them with a simple touch of a button. Just be careful and knowledgeable about any sound modifications youake as you don’t want to blow your sub or speakers. While without using that outside source for sound settings I can’t truly endorse a purchase of this product, if you don’t mind a low volume generic sound or downloading an app to fix that then I highly recommend buying this

Superb quality
This speaker system is fantastic!!! My neighbors say it hurts their ears lol that’s what I wanted. The only thing I wish was different is the smaller speakers you can’t change the colors of the lights. But there is no distortion at all no matter how loud I go!! I am soooooo happy I bought this. If I could give 10 stars I would!!

Not bad you get what you pay for
So I’m not bashing on this thing 2 hard its honestly not 2 bad especially if you turn up the treble as default this thing is very muddy for the money it’s kind of to be expected if you plan on running this in soround sound just know you will need some way to decode a modern non 2003 era signal from digital to analog or use it as party speakers which is what I’m doing as comparison it’s just as loud as my 200$ refurbished lg 5.1 system it’s not nearly as clear its muddy and lacks any real treble but if you have a 200-400$ TV it probably sounds alot better then the TV bass is good the components soldered on the PCb are all over the place it’s pretty auful heatsinks on tiny transistors that are not power amplifiers allways screem they needed to use another solution but were 2 cheap I’m not expecting this system to last more than 9 months or so especially if you blare it I was playing it at medium volume I let it sit for 15 minutes took the screws out of the back of the sub to inspect the pcb that heatsinck was HOT and 2 small for the rated 200 watts rms through a class ab amp which this appears to be overall it’s a old design time for a new model Rockville I recommend a much beefier heatsinck better qc on your PCB more filtering somewhere hell anywhere 70db signal to noise ratio is auful and get rid of those component hookups in the back let me run my own wire you don’t supply enough

NEW #1: VALUE LEADER 🤫
HOW CAN I BE LISTEN TO 5 SPEAKERS AND A SUBWOOFER, FOR LESS THAN$150! WELL, THE REMOTE HAS SEPERATE VOLUME,FOR EVERY SPEAKER, AND THE SUB. A AM FM RADIO, BLUETOOTH, AND 2 MIC INPUTS. EACH SPEAKER HAS THE UPPER AND LOWER BLUE LED. THE BASS ,ON FULL, BOOMS, WITH NO RATTLE OR SQUELCH. 1,000 WATTS, PEAK ,CONTINUOS, AT 250! ITS REALLY LOUD, AND CRYSTAL CLEAR, THE PRICE IS CHEAP, THE SOUND IS RICH. THERE IS 30 FT, FOR REAR SPEAKERS AND PLENTY FOR FRONT. SIMPLE RCA PLUG IN, AND IN 5 MINUTES, UR LOUD AND PROUD. I REMEMBER WHEN THESE WERE $400 AND UP. MINUS THE EXTENSIVE EXTRAS. THATS THE KLIPSCH 400 WATT WIRELESS SUB, SITTING TO THE RIGHT, OF THE SUB, WITH THE PACKAGE. It is worth the price
I am very happy with this system. The images of the back of the system were the greatest help for me when deciding to go with this system. It is made for RCA hookup to your TV and was perfect for me since I have a nice flat screen TV but not a new fancy 4K, so my TV had the available RCA hookup for the sound. I love the fact it came with a receiver in the subwoofer as my old system I was replacing had a separate receiver and was taking up so much more room on my entertainment center, so it was really nice to open up some space on the entertainment center. I would really recommend this for anyone who has an available RCA hookup on their TV but I would not recommend for someone who does not have that option as the system does not have any bluetooth to TV capability. The sound is clear and crisp and the woofer is absolutely amazing with pure bass sound and no distortion even when at the highest settings. The cool option about the system is the lights that are optional to have light up on each speaker but the only speaker that has the ability to change colors or modes is the subwoofer. But there is also an off option if the lights are not needed which is great when you don’t want the glare of speaker lights next to your TV. Overall I give it a 5.0.

The LED lights are not really practical. Only the bass can turn off or change colors.
For the money, this is where it’s at… I noticed a question about “true/directional sound”. It does have individual speaker inputs so if you dvd player or whatever has the output, that seems possible…First off, you may need to buy a Hdmi to aux converter like I did to play my tv audio on this.Secondly, and this was very annoying ro me… THE LED LIGHTS FOR THE SPEAKERS OTHER THAN THE BASS DO NOT TURN OFF. I resorted to covering them simply with electrical tape. They happen to be exactly the same width. It’s a simple but necessary work around because they bright blue is distracting and starts to sting my eyes… It’s extremely lame to render them useless but I didn’t buy this for the lighting… Even though they’d be rad if they were able to be controlled because I already have Led strips up and initially thought I’d be able to use them together…This doesn’t have settings for different sound quality like others I’ve seen… it’s very straightforward but I’m okay with that.It does come with fairly long cables that are simply plugged into the bass; nothing complicated.. Very simple but helpful mounting brackets. The speakers were larger than anticipated and seem pretty durable.I’m mainly disappointed by the lack of LED controls. It sounds pretty good and clear… I figure make the LEDs controllable or drop them all together and add some settings like “movie”, “gaming”, “jazz” rock” etc.Compared to the others on here. I’d recommend it. Just know what you’re getting into.

Not Disappointed
Sound quality is good, not disappointed. Assembly, after watching the video, was not difficult. Just be sure to get yourself a digital optical cord. Doesn’t include one. Bass from the subwoofer is good, may have to adjust to your own preference. I had to lower the subwoofer volume a bit because I thought it was overwhelming everything else. Once adjusted sound was great. Lights on subwoofer and speakers are nice but I have to admit, are a bit distracting at times. Apparently you can only turn off the lights on the subwoofer. I haven’t tried placing speakers very far from the TV. Why?- Wires, wires, wires. You would have a lot of wires to deal with. And that is my only negative about this system. So far 😉

No tweeters, poor high range!!! Good bass sound!
Great system for the money!! Kinda odd though it has poor high range frequency generation. Sounds very flat even with an EQ. Confused why make dual-speaker satellites (fronts, center) but both speakers are mids. One of those should be a tweeter instead. I’m going to add tweeters to them and I bet the whole system sounds 100 times better then! 5 stars if it had even just 1 dang tweeter in center channel at least!! Very thin wiring too…. the cables are carrying both +/- for speakers but also for LED’s, its like they used 5 hair width strands of copper in each wire its gotta be something like 30 Guage wiring I’ve used wires thicker than these in micro rc toys! But hey, system works as it should!

1rst review a year ago, still like I bought it! 3-12-20 checking in!
I wasn’t expecting as excellent as a product as this…keep your prices decent and quality as is and you guys will make hella sales, my first time buying a surround sound ever! And I’ll tell you, so far it’s one of the Best Buy’s , best investments yet I’ve purchased on amazon…just for great reviews on this product please don’t get a big head and make mistakes, I WILL recommend this product because I feel you are here for the people and not just ridiculous high prices…thank you so much! I also may be getting an eviction cause I love my music and with what I got from you guys and up to 3 neighbors on each side of me they get to enjoy it too! LoL, please stay fair and keep the quality up…thank you so much!!!! And also I’m extremely happy you were overly thoughtful about the length of wiring per unit… just wondering if you could make the audio jacks (sub woofer too t.v. ECT. A maybe 10 foot cord or so, I use a projector so my sub woofer has to stay near it for now but I’ll eventually get a longer one in near future and that’s not even a complaint just a recommendation….THANK YOU FOR AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!!!March 13th 2019-current(03-12-2020) still like I bought it!

Very disappointed 2xs
So, I’ve purchased this unit 2x.The first unit lasted about 5 months and turned off!!! I was at work.. wife was watching something.. at the time baby was 8 months, I have a small dog, and well if it can’t be broken my wife will prove other wise. Ok so I say ehh what ever the ghost in the attic broke it..I reorder a new one because the speakers are already in place, decent sound, what ever the “ghost” did shouldn’t happen again…LAST NIGHT 7/31/2020 (purchase date 6/30)I’m watching Dave and Ava.. I hear a faint pop.. and lose all sound.. I check device, manual power off.. unplugged it re plugged it nothing.. checked with my hand for access heat or any sign Aston what could go wrong.. nothing. Hoping item can be returned at this point…Sound quality: 6Good small apartment, garage, man cave.Sound control: 3Presets that can not be used in aux mode.Basic control volume up or down.Bluetooth: 8Easy find when searching, simple connect (Alexa, smartphone, laptop tested)Card reader: 4Some times starts with first folder.. sometimes play from randomContinuous file counting, no id, no visual display..Setup: 8Fairly easy, old school rca connections as seen in pics.. allot of wiringLights: …I don’t want to see you I want to hear.. get rid light and make led display!!Pros: great system for movies, video games, smaller area listening and stream to it devices..Cons: doesn’t appear to last long, and when you power on volume automatically jumps to max level.. so beware of having sound to device b4 powering on. Uses allot of energy in standby. And I don’t think I’ve used any other features… Well aux cord.. and it’s a aux connection..

The sound is wonderful but when you need to turn it down or up it does affect our tv meaning if you turn the surround sound volume down so will your TV. Even does the same thing when turn up the surround sound your TV volume goes up too even though you don’t want your TV volume to change.. grr

Not Under Warranty
I bought this product for just under $200 after taxes. And delivered on time. It sounded amazing for the first four months. Then it started to crackle and pop. At 50% Bluetooth output, and at 50% master volume it would crackle and pop so bad I would have to turn the unit off. Contacted customer service and he told me that you cannot play the Bluetooth audio more than 80% and the master volume at 80%.I explained that the issue occurred well below that volume, and we never ran the unit at 100%. Literally we never ran the unit at 100%. Also it should not be that big of an issue for a brand new unit if someone did run it at full blast….why manufacture it to blow itself up at high volumes….no warnings about full volume damage or anything. I read the manual.I got the answer of after year one year warranty runs out they do not fix the unit anymore and you cannot extend the warranty. So if you have major issues with the unit you might as well throw it away and buy another one.Or go ahead and choose another company, if I would go back I would probably buy the three-year warranty for a ridiculous amount of money, and also cost me $15 to ship it to them, with their shipping label. It should be free. Or go with another company. I’m not trying to bash anybody but we use the stereo for four months, then I had major problems, I just sent it off last week because I could not afford the $15 shipping label as I am broke. I had to save up to 200 bucks to buy the stereo in the first place…..

F’N AWESOME!
I had to replace my old RCA 1000 watt system which was almost 7 years old, with the silver metal ends which broke off. I would’ve bought another one, but it’s not made anymore, so I had to make do with this one. At 1000 watts, I’ve had two noise complaints in my apartment building. Too bad the system wasn’t 2000 watts or more, or I’d have to move to the next county! Totally satisfied with my new system!

Great price, solid system. Surpassed my expectations
I don’t normally write reviews but these speakers were definitely worth letting people know about. If you can get over the fact there’s a lot of wires and can be difficult/time consuming to neatly lace them all when you set them up, these are worth every penny. I recommend using the Bluetooth or optical connections instead of the auxiliary port as the sound is noticeably better. Also adjust the equalizer on your TV or whatever app you’re using on your phone (Spotify/Apple Music/etc.) to enhance the sound quality even more. I was hesitant to buy a cheaper surround sound system because I was afraid the quality wouldn’t be as good as a name brand system but after using these the last month I have zero regrets other than the fact my neighbors probably hate me now because this subwoofer hits hard. The remote is easy to use and I like that there are buttons to adjust the sound levels of each individual speaker. I only have two complaints. One is that you can only change the LED colors on the subwoofer. All the other speakers just light up blue which I guess I didn’t realize upon reading the description on Amazon. The second thing is that there is no remote code for the sound system to be able to set up the function on my Xbox One that automatically powers up my TV/sound system when I power up the Xbox. Instead I have to use multiple remotes which doesn’t really bother me but would be easier just to use one. All in all, a solid buy and would definitely recommend.

It’s good, but takes some constant tweaking…
I bought this sound system for 2 reasons. The first is that we were tired of not being able to hear dialogue in new movies (marvel movies are notoriously bad) because all the dialogue is balanced in the front center speaker, which most TV’s don’t have. The second reason I wanted it was for a higher quality audio experience for console games.First, the dialogue issue really let us down to begin with. When we first hooked up the system we found that the bass was booming and vibrating the room, but people talking sounded like tin cans way off in the distance. Using the remote we could turn down the bass, turn up the front speakers, and while that helped, we still were loosing that mid-range sound. After messing with the settings on the TV’s sound options, we were able to get audio from the TV and the surround sound at the same time, and that has given us a pretty good universal sound quality. I still find myself adjusting levels depending on what we are watching/playing, or music we are listening to though. For Gaming, its fantastic. The weak mid-level sounds don’t seem to be as noticeable while gaming, and that bass and rear speakers makes a huge difference in the audio experience.I think there are probably better speakers out there. The Sub in this system is really the selling point, while the other speakers seem pretty cheap and limited in range. But that said, the price on these is pretty amazing for what you get. If you are on a budget, and are willing to play with settings regularly, these will serve you well. If you are willing to spend more, probably keep looking.

Great sound, broken remote
It works great and the sound it perfect, but when I opened it and set it up, we realized the remote was broken, something rattling inside it, when I tried to get ahold of customer support no one responded, and still nothing back. Thank goodness we purchased one from someone else (the same exact one) and that remote worked. Poor customer service. But good quality and sound.

Very Capable
I am only giving 4 stars as I have only had the unit for 24 hours, setup was easy, kind of self explanatory upon gazing at it all. The overall sound won’t necessarily blow you away, but the bass this thing is capable of…its going to be difficult to truly enjoy this without upsetting neighbors *(Manufacturer, do not change the bass capabilities of this Unit, that portion is perfectly capable. The only complaint that I slightly have at the moment is minor, in that the satellite speakers tend to lose a fair amount of audio when bass is present, not a large amount of loss but it’s noticed more at lower volumes, I would imagine if you have the luxury of using high volumes at all times this is probably less of an issue. Side note to manufacturer that I know some may care about, if the sub can change led colors, the satellite speakers should too. I still would recommend this to anyone / everyone.

Worked good AT FIRST…
I am writing this review ONE YEAR after purchasing this product. And BOY am I glad I waited! This is a fair stereo system. I HAVE NOT hooked it up to my TV. This was purchased as a sound system for Bluetooth/karaoke purposes. So please take this review for those purposes ONLY.This system is still running decently, FOR THE MOST PART. About five to six months after purchasing this system, the LED light went out on ONE speaker. No big deal, right? It’s only a light. About two months later, the speaker that had the LED light go out also started getting sketchy regarding sound. It would flicker in and out. Never really knew if we were gonna hear anything out of it or not. We’re still having issues with it to this day.As of today, BOTH the ports for the karaoke microphones are shot. This stereo has been used MINIMALLY for karaoke purposes. I have tested MORE THAN ONE mic to be sure it wasn’t just a faulty mic, including both a wireless mic AND a corded mic. None of my microphones have worked AT ALL. Don’t know why. The karaoke ports weren’t really used that much, so for neither of them to work is pretty bogus :(So, long story short, if you’re looking for a stereo system (NOT JUST A SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM) that’ll last over a year, DO NOT buy this particular system. The speakers will give out on ya. If you’re looking for something for karaoke purposes, you REALLY (I can’t underscore “really” enough) don’t wanna buy this, as even the most minimal use will kill it.

Its decent. Clear. And Sub packs a punch but I have LOTS of concerns
I use this system mainly to listen to music, watch TV and play games. The sound quality is noticeably better compared to my TV speakers and the sub really packs a punch.I’ve had this unit for a while now and I’ve noticed a lot of degradation. I’ve never used the system above 45 (the top being 60) with sub at level 4 (the top being 10). Yet there is a noticeable buzzing/rattling that was not there beforeRecently, the Bluetooth stopped playing consistently. There are noticeable breaks in the music now, even with me in the room, compared to when I got the system and I could walk downstairs and around my house with no interference. There is feedback coming from something. A loud “dudududdu” sound (sorry 😂😭 I had no other way of describing it) comes through the system. At first the sound only happened when I left it on but now it’s even happening in standby mode. I have nothing with around the recievee that I can say definitely causes interference so I’m unsure of what to do.Finally, the system is never actually off. It’s always in standby. There is no switch to actually turn it off.

Perfect Sound System On A Budget
This sound system is amazing. My next door neighbor can feel the bass in his chair. I’ve now bought three of these. One for myself and two as gifts. The sound is crystal clear even at high volume. The wires are long enough for me to space the speakers around a 20×30 room. It doesn’t seem to be true 5.1 surround, but it’s still amazing sound quality. Unbeatable at this price point. Highly recommend.

Initial Review + ~2 year update
I’m loving this. I was using a jerry rigged surround sound, and I’ve never used actual surround so this, this is incredible.First things first setting up was so incredibly simple. Part of that is the incredible length wire that’s provided for the rear speakers. I measured (badly) and thought the location I’d have to place them would be meh, however, they were plenty long to reach the back of the room. I have full room coverage.I thought this was going to take me hours to set up. I think I had it set up and done within fourty-five minutes. It could’ve been shorter, but I used different wall mounts than the ones it came with.I don’t have everything I need to set up correctly, namely a level and this system still sounds wonderful.Second, volume… be careful with this beast. I always test my sound systems (car, computer, etc) and playing from BT some decent songs, I could hear this on the road. So if you live in a city that doesn’t put up with so called Noise Pollution, or neighbours who are delicately put- dick wads, get a less worthy system. The remote is part of the review, and it’s simple and easy to use, no complaints at all.Overall, vaule for money, while I’ve only had for a few hours now (will update eventually) I’d have to say this is the best $150ish I’ve spent in a very long time.Update-I’ve have this surround system for about two years now. It’s still as clear as the day I bought it. There’ve been times I thought it was going out, only to discover it was from the source audio, not the speakers.I had the led lights unplugged for the longest time, but having them on really can add a sort of theather setting lighting. It would be nice if there was a dimmable function for them, however, if found too bright it’s easy to unplug.I can’t comment on the remote as it’s been long since destroyed via my children. For the $150ish I spent on this, it has absolutely been worth it.Overall… Complete satisifaction.

Great looking and sounding system
Great Sounding 5.1/2.1 System. Easy to set-up due to colour coded cables and visually clear manual. Set-up videos available via QR Code too. The colour manual was enough to complete the setup. The only CON is that they did not send a Coaxial Cable which is required to send the signal from the TV to the Home Theatre System. The sound quality is better than my Samsung Sound Bar and Sub-woofer system which this system replaced. The LED light is a definite plus too. Cool looking system in the dark.

The “GOOD” The “BAD” & The “UGLY”
Straight to the pointThe GOOD:This is a really good first time budget surround sound speaker set, like if you are in college or have a small budget or have a computer you play video games on, or have a small room for Netflix and chill times, you can turn each speaker up or down individually, the blue tooth works pretty decent and connects, but this surround sound is nothing extraordinaryThe BAD:*This is not real 5.1 surround , the reason its called 5.1 is because it has 5 speakers and 1 sub lol! all it does is just split the channel left to right all the time when you plug it in*It has outdated connections! you can can not use HDMI, YOU CAN NOT USE OPTICAL, (unless you get a adapter , GOOD LUCK FIGURING WHAT KIND) and you barely can use the red and white RCA cords , i have a hisense smart tv and the only way i was able to get this semi-surround sound to work was to plug the adapter they give you from the red and white rca’s into the headphone port of my tv, good thing my tv has a dual out so i don’t have to have surround sound on 24/7 but some tvs wont have that luxury :(*The Back Speaker wire is not that long for a living room , its only long enough for a Bedroom unless you splice and extend it, but who wants to go through all that, and if you do splice it, the Blue LED’s will not work*The Remote is the most terrible layout ever! the volume button should be where the “Turn down sub button” istrust me you will get mixed up every time you go to turn down this device only to see that you are turning down the sub instead of the volume*it never actually shuts off, you will see 2 led lights blinking in the dark like a alarm clock that needs to be reset*The Led lights are cute at first but its no option to turn them off only unplug them from the back of the wooferTHE UGLYTHE SUB RATTLES! unacceptably! you have to turn down the sub to like -10 (which is its lowest setting) if you dare try to put this sub on -3 or above (or at its highest +10) while watching a action movie , it will sound like a car trunk rattling with subs! Terrible! Terrible i will upload video soon!*The L.E.D. on the main sub woofer is a gimmick , it turns a few colors and thats it!So in conclusion only get this if this is going to hold you over till you get a better surround system, it will do the job mediocrely for the time being , and the people who are praising this either never actually had a real surround sound 5.1 or they got one for free..and there you have it! you have been Warned

A okay beginner system for the price.
Got this to replace a cheap old art+sound system I had when the cheap credit card remote stopped working, and you couldn’t change any settings. I initially tested it and it was a lot better then my old one. So I would recommend it to people who just want to try out surround sound instead of just your tv speakers. Now if your actually a movie watcher of LOTR or Starwars, or GOT and ect. You will be disappointed. As some others have said in the reviews, this is not a true 5.1 system, and you need to change the setting on your tv (think it’s PCM). But the main part I hate this system is it seems like they put a substandard subwoofer that “bottoms out” and makes one hell of a rattling noise during certain bass heavy scenes. Granted from what I’ve read LOTR will put any sub to the test. I have already taken the sub out and checked for any looseness in the system, and found no issues.Other down side to it is your volume does not really get loud till it hits setting 50, and it only goes up to 60. So if you want to rattle your house down you won’t get it from this.On the plus side the remote is awesome and you can change anything on the fly. (which comes in handy if you don’t want to blow the sub)Now if you want real knock your socks off I would save your money. I was able to by a sony receiver from a guy at work who was upgrading for 150 and I got a kipich system on here for around 300. And I can only turn it up to 60 ot of 100 till my hears hurt and everything hanging on the walls are falling.I ended up putting it on my 2nd tv in the basement just cause I didn’t feel like returning it and it was a upgrade for that cheapo tv, and the lights are cool for my bar down there. So after I pay off my credit card I might look into upgrading and throw this thing in the garage.Overall, Not bad, but not great. Needs matching sub woofer to the amp, and just a little more power.

Junk
It quit working after few weeks after I ran speaker wire through the wall, the left channel quit working and I just wanted to do a recover exchange but, this company wanted everything back., and I sent this to Amazon for review it was ordered on the 8th got here by the 15 sent it back, and I wanted a refund then but, rock ville said that the window was closed for return and they sent me a brand new one. That I didn’t want, so if you can send me a brand new one, why couldn’t I have a refund. It took me a day to run wires through the wall. And that long to take them out,

Loud Enough to break the law
I bought this system because I wanted some serious volume and enough bass to feel my music sometimes. It completely satisfied. One complaint.. the remote is on similar frequency as ny Roku smart TV. Sometimes, for instance, volume down is volume down for the tv and the sound system. Not ideal but I can live with that. Other times lowering the balance toward my subwoofer incidentally turns the TV off.

Sounds good for price
Bought this for my husband and I at Christmas this year and for the price it is a really good system. We have a fairly large living room and the speaker wire is perfect to reach to the back of the room. I went off of the reviews and I’m very glad I purchased this system. I like that the remote allows you to change the volume on each speaker so when I’m in the back of the room and want to sleep, he can lower my speaker and it doesn’t affect me as much. I do recommend purchasing this, it has very good bass in the subwoofer.

My house is shaking 🙂
The media could not be loaded.
So, my trusted Samsung home theater broke down in a most unexpected and – as usually – most inconvenient moment and I needed a replacement fast. Being on a budget at the moment, I looked through under $200 sound systems, found this one and decided to give it a shot after reading mostly positive reviews. Good decision. Sound quality is very good for this price point, although don’t expect a level of output of $1000+ speakers, obviously. For normal use, this is very good, sub is really powerful; I actually had to tuck it in with a sound-isolation foam pads to stop it from making my furniture rattle. It’s easy to operate once you get a grip on it; option to control volume of each speaker separately is really something. I had some issues connecting it to the rest of my setup, being not familiar with this specific type of connectivity, but a quick email to the producer and they pointed me to the right direction. Lights are a cool addition, although I decided to not to turn them on on satellite speakers, leaving it on the sub only. I like how this blue light reacts to the sound and flickers along with the bass. There are a few colors to pick from on the sub, blue was my personal choice.Overall, very good purchase. I uploaded a video showing how it looks and behaves; sound quality on the recording doesn’t give it a justice, just so you know. Clone Wars sound awesome 😉

Kick ass sound system for whatever you need
I was at 1st skeptical about a 1000w sound system for under $200 but after visiting the manufacturer website as well as Amazon reviews I felt it was worth the shot. If you have a TV with a digital optical audio cable output port take advantage of that feature. I have a ps5 on hdmi and the audio is amazing when it hits the sub and 5 speakers–all of which can be individually attenuated up/down and I have to say from standard DVD to blu-ray, steaming apps, Bluetooth etc it hits crisp clear and hard in the living room. Cables are pretty long so I’m pretty impressed with that. Oh and make sure that digital audio cable is fully seated (you’ll hear and feel it click in especially the back of the TV). The tech support videos are pretty self explanatory and no-brainer to put together yourself. Love it!!

Remote interferes with TV
I am changing my review from amazing to ok. Yes this thing is load and lots of bass. But after upgrading to a real surround sound system. I have found that this thing is not surround sound at all not even close.Original review belowThis sound system has some intense bass even at low volume. Sounds amazing. But there is one major flaw the remote. I have a Roko TV and Rockfill’s remote uses some of the same frequencies. For example, when I press volume down the tv volume goes down. When i press front right spear level down tv goes off when i press rear right level up tv goes to main menu when i press 5.1 or 2.1 tv mutes.

Item delivered exactly in perfect condition
Item works as advertised. Sound quality is excellent and fully adjustable. The “Optical Audio Cable” (the one cable that provides sound from the TV to this sound system) was NOT provided!! The cable that ties “Home Theater” together! It wasn’t even mentioned!!!

*NOT A SURROUND SYSTEM!!!*
Right up front, I feel like I need to be very clear, this is not a surround sound home theater system! This is a stereo matrix unit. I have a lot of experience with home theater, at one time owning a Marantz Pre-amp, Emotiva amplifiers, Klipsch speakers, and SVS subs (had to sell everything because we were in a budget crunch). I know what I’m talking about and I know how to hook this stuff up and what settings to change and/or adjust.I hooked this unit up using the optical port on the back to my XBox One X. The settings on the XBox were on stereo uncompressed, when I changed it to bitstream to force Dolby or DTS it made an unholy, god awful, digital screeching noise. So I left it on stereo, but even with that setting, any surround unit with at least dolby pro-logic type dsp processing would still separate information from the front speakers to a mono channel in the surround speakers…this was not happening. Center channel information played out of every speaker. I tried using the RCA inputs and Optical output from my TV to this unit and made various setting adjustments and nothing changed…this is a stereo matrix unit. All this aside, if you’re fine with a stereo matrix unit for home theater…I still can’t recommend this. The sound is horrible. The highs seem to fade above 2KHz, and there doesn’t seem to be much around 500Hz, all in all it sounds muddy. The sub is very sloppy, not tight, not “controlled” at all…it booms…but it’s very ugly, it doesn’t go very low either. Oh, and the EQ only works on the front USB/SD input, lol! …And, no, You can’t go to the USB input, change the EQ, then go back to your other input. The Bluetooth input on this unit was the worst input by far, I could barely hear it, even cranked all the way up…yes, my phone was all the way up too.Y’all! I can’t even recommend this for the price! If you want an actual surround unit, actual, discrete, 5.1, with better performance all around, get this: Vizio SB3651n-H6 5.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer! It’s $160 right now. I bought one at Walmart last year after I sold all my other gear. I wasn’t expecting much for the price, but my god! I bought this Rockville unit thinking I was going to replace my Vizio one……that’s a hard, “HELL NO!” folks.

The rest of this is true but I found out that if I connect my tv through Bluetooth the sound is way better. You want a good stereo, but don’t want to pay a lot of money for it?This is it. This is the best bang for your buck. I use it for listening to my cellphone computer and TV.The tv sounds good. Might be the model I have it’s my late grandmas from probably ten or twelve years ago. But everything else sounds SPECTACULARI can’t even turn it up much because it’s that good. I have neighbors, I’m in an apartmentBut, I can’t imagine you finding a better deal for this price with this much quality and value
