Rotating knob for setting time is easy, but not very fast, for microwave
Wanted to replace my Panasonic 1100W microwave… With another Panasonic! My old microwave has been around so long, the rotating ring had rolled so much it has CUT THROUGH the paint at the bottom of the microwave! Time to get a replacement! This model was almost identical to the old one except it has a turn knob to set the time, instead of a keypad. (the keypad version was more expensive?!) and it’s in brushed steel, instead of the old piano black. One thing to note: brushed steel attracts fingerprints… you will KNOW when it looks a little dirty. The turn knob is very simple indeed, no need to type in a number. Just twist until desired time, then push in once to engage. I do wish the numbers move a little faster, as it takes several rotations if you want more than just a minute or two. There are plenty of modes available should you need them. All in all, great microwave, still makes that whine when on, but it’s very easy to use.

Avoid the model with a dial
This is a great microwave for anyone looking to purchase a new model. However, DO NOT get the model that has the dial selector. I thought it would be cool to have a numberless face, but it is a pain to use. Otherwise great microwave.

Amazing, get one
Didn’t expect to like this as much as we do since we really got spoiled by our previous microwave. After lots of comparison shopping we chose this model. It looks sharp, it’s easy to clean, roomy, powerful, has plenty of features and a functionality we can count on every day; all while taking up a bit less counter space than its predecessor. A good selling price and Amazon’s dependable delivery took the hard work out of the unwelcome chore of replacement shopping.

Dial for cook time
After wrongly assuming the operation of this microwave would be intuitive given the number I’ve had in the past, I was disappointed. The primary complaint is that there is no number pad for cook time. I’ve read the manual several times. There is a dial to set the cook time, and it requires considerable time to twirl it. That may sound odd, but it increases by 10 second increments only. So you twirl and twirl. Setting for just 5 minutes takes a full minute. Perhaps there is a shortcut, but so far, I haven’t found it.

Light stays on
My only complaint about this beautiful appliance is that I can’t leave the door open. I want to vent the microwave after use. Keeps it fresher between cleanings. The light stays on with the door open.

Great
I like it a lot. This is my 3rd Panasonic microwave. This one is a little lower in wattage than others that I had before so I have to cook for a slightly longer time. I have a limited clearance space between the counter top & the cabinets & this fits perfectly.

Don’t give up
I had to order 2 times. The first time the microwave was damaged. Don’t give up … I reordered another and got a nice one that was not damaged. So far I am happy with my purchase. I had an old Panasonic microwave for 25 years. It just got old and quit. I stuck with the same brand and I hope this one will be as good.

No blister bubble numbers for timer programming is a plus. They usually fail first.
Prior to purchasing this oven, I read a few bad reviews from people who did not understand how to use it properly, but I figured since Panasonic designed it, it must be good. I have liked Panasonic since the 1960’s and feel it is still a very solid brand. I read reviews and viewed videos on the internet and Youtube about these types of Panasonic ovens prior to making my purchase. I research the internet and Youtube before purchasing almost anything. Once you become accustomed to using this oven, it, like almost anything else, becomes reasonably easy. Practice makes perfect. Do the research first and be patient. The price was right too.

Love the black interior
I love that the interior is black. I wish it were a little smaller as it takes up a significant amount of counter space, but finding a microwave that is 1100 watts that has a smaller footprint has proven impossible. Since many microwave meals say they don’t recommend a lower watt microwave, I compromised on the counter space.

NEVER BUY PANASONIC MICROWAVE
We bought this Panasonic NN-SD67LS just last year and it worked fine (even though the turntable plate kept coming off the armature ) in that it cooked ok. Then last night, it just stopped working. Lights and bells and whistles still work, just no cooking. By the way we have actually only used this Panasonic but a few months in that we have spent most of our time in Wisconsin, not Alabama where the this wretched Panasonic sits proudly…dead as a doornail.

Lower quality Panasonic than earlier models
Got this to replace a similar Panasonic 900 watt microwave. Unfortunately, the 1100 watt model is disappointing. First, it is not more powerful than the 900. In fact, for simple things like heating a cup of liquid, it takes a few more seconds. (The 900 watt mv was slightly larger in size than this 1100 watt model and so I don’t understand this discrepancy on that basis either). The features were disappointing as well. I had really liked the knob feature on the 900. It had little soft clicks to mark increments and felt solid in the hand. The 1100 knob does not feel solid. It has a kind of loose feeling and doesn’t always stay on the setting where it’s left. Annoying. My old 900 watt had a quick cook feature of 60 seconds and the 1100 has a quick 30 seconds button. However, because the 1100 is not more powerful (and maybe less) I end up having to press that button multiple times, and ultimately, for a greater number of seconds than the 900 watt.I like the look of the 1100 watt a little more than my old 900, but it feels much cheaper. The door of the 1100 does not feel solid. It makes a loud sound when it is closed, presumably because there’s no sound dampening structure to it. It’s a very light weight door. I don’t use the special heating features so I can’t really speak on that. Overall, I am slightly disappointed with this Panasonic product. It is clearly a cheapened version of the older models like the 900 watt I had previously.

It died
2 years and stops heating. Dial takes forever to set clock. Only 30 second increments for time, and maxes out at 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes, it gets too hot it shuts off. After cool down, I can restart it. Not a good product.

FIRE HAZARD
When I use the microwave, smoke and a strong burning smell comes from the vent holes by the light. The nearest Panasonic repair store is in a different city, about 1 1/2 hours away from my home, so by the time I make two round trips to take it in and pick it up, plus the time involved in those trips, it will cost about what the unit cost… making the warranty useless to me. No more Panasonic for me.

Strange controls. Not intuitive at all.
Took awhile to learn basic operation. But best bang for my buck, and operates well. Curious as to why the interior has such low light available. Maybe I will learn how to use all the attributes if I continue to study the lengthy manual. Very slow wading through all the verbiage.

Mixed feelings
The dial to set times is helpful if you only want 5, 10, 15 secs like I often do. I would give 5 stars but the microwave only beeps once when finished cooking. Preference would be to keep beeping occasionally until cooked item is removed. It’s easy to forget without reminders. Otherwise, the microwave is good.

The door is kind of flimsy as you can read from the other reviews. The knob function can kind of be annoying if you need to heat something for longer than 3 minutes. Overall, heats food well.

It was a lemon!
When I first ran it. There was a horrible growling sound… Then the door wouldn’t open. I got a hold of Panasonic . They were going to give me my money back as soon as I sent them a copy of invoice. I sent 8 different copies to the agent. Phone call was cut off. Never called back. So I told Amazon Customer Service and Amazon ended up giving me my money back…Oh yeah, I was ordered to trash it by the Panasonic personnal

Panasonic Makes Good Microwave Ovens
I bought this unit to replace my failing 14 year old Panasonic. I had bought it to replace my hand me down Panasonic that lasted from 1980 to 2006. The only faults I have seen is the keypad is a bit difficult to see and it runs a bit loud. It has a good capacity, and is packed in a manner that enabled it to be shipped to me by mail. It has performed well for the 2 months I’ve had it. I recommend it.

efficient / powerful
Mild thumbs up for a not so intuitive but reasonably priced microwave. It works – it’s powerful but I’m not impressed with instrumentation and features. The reheat mode will boil / destroy your food – don’t recommend using it and instead using the time feature that you input. It’s a tinny feel in comparison to the big boys but as I said – reasonably priced so you should expect that. Reminder: it is powerful so take that into account as you time your heating needs.

Cooking and defrosting evenly? Never!
The microwave seemed modern and a great buy. That is, until I got it. The turntable is a plastic circle with 3 wheels that goes somewhere under the glass. If I manage to position it correctly. Then put my plate on. To the glass micro plate, we’ll, it stops turning. I happens constantly. My old micro table automatically went around. Others in the house won’t even use it.
