LOVES IT!
Bought 2 of these for my office (gaming room) and for the price they are everything I wanted. I spent hours looking up monitors, and decided to go with these. You can adjust the height up and down which is perfect. Haven’t used for gaming yet, but so far i’m impressed.

Great Monitor
I got this monitor on a Black Friday sale and it is a huge improvement coming from 1080p. Mine came in perfect condition and i have had no issues at all. Everything in the description is true and this is a great monitor for the price point! If you are coming from 1080p you will not be disappointed.

Great looking monitor and video quality
At first I thought it was tilted off slightly but then I realize its able to rotate for people who want the screen going longways from top to bottom. Once I got it straightened out and played a few games I noticed a much better image quality compared to my old 1080p 60hz monitor.

Great Performance Out of the Box
This monitor is everything I could hope for. My older monitor was flickering frequently. After trying a new GPU, new cable and new drivers I had no choice but to try a new monitor. This LG was great out of the box. I didn’t need to adjust any settings though I did check them to ensure they were where I wanted them to be. No flickering. Native 144Mz refresh but no issues running the monitor at 120Mz which is what I prefer. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Great, But
For $200 and very little research the moniter is pretty good, I generally trust the name LG. The blacks are bad tho. Very “washed” coloring. Compared to my laptop screen this looks kinda cheap. But it works and for the price Idk if theyll let u get what u want. (Artificial limiting) so if u get a good deal its a good deal imo

No issues
I see a lot of people complaining the brightness isn’t great and a tip for that is to turn off the eco mode. It’s on by default. Good picture. No blur on movement. Overall a great pick for a 2k monitor.

The money is worth it for a LG monitor!
The media could not be loaded.
This was worth every penny. I researched so many monitors. I wanted a 27in and a 144ghz. I looked at the PC part brands like MSI and gigabyte who often had dead pixel problems. I looked at ASUS and Acer and cheaper brands like AOC or Viotek. I also did research on LG screens and figured if phone companies and tv companies also use LG screens for their products than an LG monitor has to be a solid choice.I also needed something with multiple ports as I work from home and game and have to have multiple computers plugged into one monitor. I also REALLY liked the stand that this comes with. The bottom of the feet are grippy so it won’t slide around easily or scratch up your desk. The height adjustment on this thing beats out every other competition. Not only is it so easy to move it up and down it can also be turned vertically! My boyfriend bought the same monitor after me and the weird clip on handle in the back doesn’t fit properly but it’s not even needed to be used. You just very slightly squeeze is and it’ll lower. Otherwise going up you just lift the screen like magic. So easy a baby could do it and it’s also a fun brag factor when your friends come over!We have a 3070 GPU so we wanted a monitor that would go hand in hand with it. So far it’s been wonderful. You can really change the settings on it just through the monitor but you can even further tweak everything through the NVIDIA g-sync which is FANTASTIC!!!!!!BE AWARE!!!!! I do however want to !!WARN!! Everyone about one thing: we downloaded the LG driver for the monitor (which basically does the same thing the actual monitor button does but we were curious….) but we turned on HDR through that and it basically crashed our computers. Everytime I opened a game in full screen it would completely freeze my PC and I would have to restart it. I uninstalled the program and it still was crashing. (My bf uninstalled his and it worked fine after) I was freaking out. I went into the monitor button settings and just reset settings to factory and it fixed everything. So I’m not exactly sure what the issue is with that drive but I would NOT download it! I since have turned HDR on again through the monitor button settings and it’s fine so it was something with that driver.A 1440p and 144ghz monitor looks amazing we had fun watching YouTube videos to see the detail and colors of it. However the Home Screen was so tiny everything from the menu bar to the programs on the desktop were super tiny. Down to the font size on browsers so I adjusted my settings to make everything 110% zoom which makes my monitor look “normal” again. Otherwise those are the only settings I’ve really had to change on this monitor. I know other non ISP monitors you have to change color shading and everything to make it look good which is why I went with an IPS monitor. Also leave it on fast mode dont move it to faster ever unless you like shadowing. So far I have zero complaints. No dead pixels. Amazing build quality. Monitor feels solid and light. Easy to adjust height and vertical. Base is ingenuity. The size is perfect. It’s not curved. The settings in the monitor buttons are perfect and plenty. G-sync is fantastic. HDR looks amazing freesync works great.I also want to mention in game mode there’s a reader option which makes working from home even better. Not sure what the effect does specifically but it makes words softer on the eyes if your reading or working from home which I LOVE!Although the stand it comes with is amazing: what gamer doesn’t get a VIVO mount? This stand slides off really easy in order to mount it I was surprised again LG out did themselves on this monitor! Buy it!

Good with some… Quirks
Nice panels, thin bezels. Good monitors for the price, but there were some unexpected quirks that presented some inconvenience and required additional equipment for a workaround:1) Jankiest power supply design imaginable (cumbersome brick + short cable)The power bricks can only be plugged in vertically in one direction and block any opposing outlet (both vertically AND horizontally). It’d be impossible to plug two of these into a standard 2-plug wall outlet and, as an added bonus, the cable is comically short and will point downward (unless you’re using a power strip so you can flip it) so it’ll have extra travel distance. To be fair, if you’re buying a 1440p monitor, you should at least be familiar with the concept of a power strip (ideally with a UPS behind it). Still, I’d suggest looking into ones that can be oriented to account for cumbersome plugs like this so you don’t end up with 2+ unusable outlets. Also note the cable length – my setup required mounting the strip under the desk right below the monitors in order for the cable to reach them both, and it still left very little leeway for cable management.2) Monitors and power brick get quite warmThey get noticeably warmer than any other monitors I’ve had. The ambient heat output is non-trivial.Note I am coming from two 1080p BenQ monitors and these are the first/only 1440p panels I have owned, so I may just be out of reference here.

Some tips for future buyers who mount to robotic arms
I’m not going into detail on the picture quality, there are a ton of reviews out there for that. Suffice it to say it is very sharp for gaming, coding and office work. My goal is just to share a few observations to help future buyers. First, if you use the HDMI cable you will be capped at 100Hz refresh rate. Also, Nvida doesn’t detect g-sync unless you use the DisplayPort cable. Secondly, the cables are only 4ft. Come on LG, that wasn’t enough to route to my dual monitor arms. And, thirdly, is the issue with the VESA mount being recessed. I have a standard gas spring dual monitor mount with 100mmx100mm. My VESA mounting plate was too large to fit into the monitor without some power tool mods wth an angle grinder. LG could have mitigated this by making the screw holes flush on the back or increase the dimensions of the recessed box to more generous levels. I almost returned because of this, but I really want to keep the monitor so I made it work. That might be beyond the scope for some so be aware.

Worth when heavily discounted
8/2/2023:Saw this monitor go on sale and sold “new” at oddly $200, had my suspicions at first and I was right. Monitor did arrived in a used condition that was like brand new, the LG shipping box had it original box label on the side ripped off(old glue residue remnants from original label on the side of the box), plastic tape that sealed the box had been ripped open already and retaped over again, and the monitor inside of the foam had the plastic wrap oddly taped with clear shipping tape. All in all the unboxing experience for my supposedly “new” purchase was a poor experience.Apart from the unboxing experience I was curious about the actual condition of the monitor. Although the monitor was a return unit, the monitor did not show any signs of dead pixels or damages to the monitor as the clear protective wrap was still on the monitor. Ran some quick dead pixel test and a backlight bleed test and surprisingly enough the monitor had no issues with either dead pixels or backlight bleed and seemed like a perfect new monitor. Seems like I got lucky with my heavily discounted purchase for now.I will run a follow up update on this review if any issues arise but for now solid 4/5 purchase.

GREAT, while it lasted…
Given the usual stellar reviews this has had, I thought I’d add a note about my experience.I purchased this monitor ALMOST a year ago. That “almost” is important. I was completely and totally satisfied with it. The colors were sharp, the response times were phenomenal, and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with it.Unfortunately, today, it died. Not a blank screen of death, but a prismatic screen of death.. I know it was the monitor because my SECOND monitor was still working great, and the menu of this monitor wouldn’t even show. It was a white, segmented line in the middle of the screen. The colors were pretty, but functionally, it was completely borked. That said, it WAS still under warranty. I communicated with LG support, who asked for the invoice and serial number, then arranged to have a box shipped and a prepaid shipping label e-mailed to me, leaving me only with the task of packing the monitor up and dropping it off at the carrier they’ve selected to be repaired/replaced.The turn-around time, according to the rep, was 2-3 weeks. So IF you have a warranty on it, you get NO HASSLES in getting it fixed for free. And because of my experience, I am considering investing in some extended warranties if they’re still offered. The interesting thing is that I have a 12 year old ASUS LCD monitor that still works (last time I tried it) that I’ll use as my second screen until this monitor is fixed and returned. I can limp along with a second monitor literally half of the resolution of this one until this one is fixed. So, one star off for dying within a year, but no MORE than that because LG gave me NO hassles in getting it sent to them and fixed/replaced (whichever the outcome happens to be). I’ve yet to check into extended warranties, but I’d HOPE that the fix has at least another year on it. I’ll update this review if I can’t get extended warranties OR if the warranty on the fix isn’t good for another year.[Edit to add: I take back all the nice things I said about LG, and deduct another star for what happened after I posted this review.I received my monitor back a couple of weeks after I sent it in, and the monitor arrive in a new box, but the power supply had been placed on the wrong side of the box. The result was one of the power supply’s prongs was jammed into the power supply itself during shipping, likely destroying the board to which it was mounted and making it useless.I contacted LG, of course, and talked with customer service, I sent them the same picture I posted here, and they said they’d replace it. They did not. It’s been almost two months. I knew it would take some time so I bought a compatible PSU from Amazon in the meantime, but I was without my monitor for considerably longer than planned, pushing my productivity levels into the toilet. The monitor did work (though I’ve had one unexplained, momentary black screen on it and not my second screen that hasn’t yet happened again) after I got a PSU for it, but I shouldn’t have had to wait in the first place. The PSU shipped with the monitor was new (I had marked it to see if they replaced it) and the monitor itself had been repaired (the mark I put on the monitor is still there). But the monitor without the special PSU is pretty pointless, and put me far more behind than planned. So what should have been a fully warranted repair ended up costing me the price of a new PSU because someone at LG’s repair vendor doesn’t know how to pack a PSU properly. As for extending the warranty, I’m going to go with another brand next time.]

Really Nice Monitor
After one week: this monitor is very good. I am using the DisplayPort and the G-Sync works automatically with my GTX 1650S. The audio out works good if you prefer to plug in there instead of the PC. One feature I thought I would probably never use but I found a good use for is this monitor’s ability to swivel 90 degrees on its stand – play pinball! It’s perfect for that.Based upon one day’s usage: It’s a really nice monitor in all aspects and so I’m very happy with the purchase. Great color, G-Sync works, everything gets detected and optimum settings applied in Windows and Steam games. I like the stand design also – that is one area a monitor excels over a TV. I have mostly Samsung TVs but chose an LG for my new monitor partly based on a lot of specs and reviews and price/quality ratio and such. Also, I wanted to try an LG since my in-laws have an older large LG TV that is like 15 years old or something but is 120hz and it has held up to this day with a fabulous picture and quality looking case and stand. I think this LG 2783A-B monitor is going to prove the same. If you want G-Sync compatibility, 144hz and 1440p then this is one of the best options and most cost effective options at this time I think. This monitor has no speakers but it does have an audio out port. Of course this model number is an Amazon special edition. It shows up in Windows 10 settings as a 27GL850.I had been using a Samsung 22 inch 1080p TV for my monitor and it was pretty nice and had very good speakers. Well, after having my i7 PC for 3 years I decided it was time for a refresh: NVME drive, Lancool 2 Case, LED Fan kit, 650W PSU, MSI GTX 1650 Super Gaming X, Xbox Windows 10 Wireless Adapter and this LG 2783A-B monitor. As you can imagine this all really woke up that i7 and its a completely different experience now – obviously in a positive direction. More on this monitor…The 27 inch size is really nice compared with a 22 inch one. Looking at this LG 2783A-B 1440p at a distance of 1.5 to 2 feet looks the same to me as looking at my Samsung 40 inch 4K TV from 3.5 to 4 feet away. That is very good BTW. Are you used to watching 1080p and 4K LCD TVs? Then you will be very satisfied with deep blacks and vibrant colors on this and not notice any light bleed effects – it will look as good as a nice 4K TV at a bit larger size and much better than a 1080p I can tell you that. I use my PC for CAD for 3D printing, Photoshop and gaming mostly. To me this monitor is an optimum size, resolution and picture quality for those things sitting at a desk. I tried my 40 inch 4K TV for a while and it looked as good as this monitor but was just too much screen area at such a close distance. I like this 27 better. This monitor has some pretty nice metallic red accents but unfortunately they are all toward the back so you won’t actually see much of them.

The perfect Gaming/Office Display
I’d like to start by saying, ever since LG invented the wallpaper TV, I’ve developed loyalty, strictly on their displays for everything. They are cheaper then Samsung, yet more innovative, so, kudos. That said, if my review sounds at all biased, I’m sorry. There are no defects on the monitor I received. Ran an Ezio test and found nothing that stands out.Something to be aware of, is that if you purchase a VESA mount, it needs to be 100×100, and even if that mount has spacers, you may need some washers to compensate for a gap. The reason for this, is to keep the back flat and uniform when installing the stand it comes with, but considering monitors these days are naturally very thin, this causes a problem by limiting the female port length for the screws needed to secure a VESA mount. In my case, 8 small washers I had left over from other projects fixed this problem. Something else worth noting is it is Nvidia G-Sync compatible (there is an attractive sticker showing this monitor is capable of it on the bottom left that I’m assuming can be removed). My Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super recognized that it is a G-Sync compatible monitor, and I was able to enable G-Sync thru the Nvidia Control Panel, however, when you view settings on the monitor itself, it is called “Adaptive Sync.” From what I’ve read, this is because they used to be one in the same, and it works just the same as far as I can tell. Enabling it in the Nvidia Control Panel made the monitor settings show Adaptive Sync: Enabled. One feature I really liked that I wasn’t aware of when buying this monitor, is that the settings button is a small joystick. If clicked in it opens the settings window, if towards you or away from you, it allows you to adjust the brightness, and left or right is headphone volume. Overall very nifty for one button. If you need a VESA mount but aren’t sure what to get, this is what I ordered: VIVO Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand Heavy Duty Fully Adjustable fits 2 /Two Screens up to 27″ (STAND-V002). Mine is a dual mount but you can choose between double and single. The mount itself is extremely sturdy. Zero wobble and aesthetically pleasing, as it has a cable management system and you can hide the VIVO logo on the main support pole if you want to (I did, I’m not the biggest fan of logos). But not to veer off the topic or review, 2560 x 1440 @ 144hz for under $400 from LG w/ G-Sync compatibility is the most perfect monitor I could ask for. 2k is ideal for gaming as 4k is too demanding for AAA titles (for about 90% of the Gaming PC Community and 100% of the eSports Community). One last thing I’ve noticed, is that I have had a 4k screen in the past, and noticed the resolution makes everything extremely tiny (the taskbar being the most obvious reference). 2k is the sweet spot, because it’s not too small, but there is now enough real estate for a 27″ monitor to be all I need (for gaming). When I get into photo editing, etc., I will likely purchase a 4k monitor, but only for shows, movies, and editing. I do self-taught audio production work, and 27″ 2k is more then enough for me. Some producers use widescreen monitors, which is great for them, I’m sure, but not necessary after seeing this thing. Thank you LG, for the ultimate monitor, and thank you Amazon, for an undamaged product.

Perfect for 144hz
Asus and LG are my go to’s. I love this but at only 144hz I felt limited to I went to the Asus VG27AQ3A which is the same as this 1440p, but 180hz native and $100 cheaper. Great monitor if all you need is 144hz.

Great monitor for editing and gaming and at a cheap price!
I got this monitor primarily for having a good bang for you buck option geared towards photo editing, video editing, and gaming and it delivers on all of these options.Pros:Smooth 144 hz refresh rate- This is a first for me and being exposed to a high refresh rate monitor, especially for gaming, changes your perspective on what you see and how responsive everything is. If you are an avid gamer then having a higher refresh rate of 120 to even 240 hz is a must! For the average consumer, this isn’t really all that noticable.Beautiful, near bezeless design- For me, I’m not used to a very sleek design that doesn’t use minimal bezels. It makes the display look modern and expensive.2k Display!- The bump from 1080p to 2k is short but yet is a big change. Everything is just a little more detailed and sharpened. This is great especially for photo editing to get into the fine details.Fairly color accurate- I’m not someone who is looking to get an exact 100% sRGB for editing but for the price, it’s a great option! They even have a sRGB monitor setting to give you the most accurate colors the monitor can deliver. I believe the monitor has 99% sRGB but please dont take my word for it! For non creatives, this wont mean much to you.Slight Antiglare- Since the display is an IPS panel, there is a little bit of anti glare built in. It’s not much but compared to a standard LCD panel it makes working in the daylight with the curtains open manageable.Cons: Most of the problems come from how lucky you are at getting a decent stand and display. For me, my stand and display only show minimal downsides. The Stand- I personally dont mind the stand at all. It feels girthy and stable but there are a lot of other consumers who have stated otherwise. The minor complaints of mine about the stand are the base where it balances itself and the color accents. The base used to balance itself is fairly large and takes up a good amount of space. If you have a smaller desk then look out for this! And the color accents used for the monitor only come in red which for me isn’t a big deal but for someone who uses a specific color scheme for their setups might want to look else whereThe Backlight Bleed- Since this display is an IPS display, there is always bound to be atleast some bleeding but with mine, it isn’t too bad. It shows up on the left corner a little bit and the bottom left corner which can be noticable when the screen is all black. This did bother me when I first got it but after only using it for roughly 3 days, I’ve gotten used to it. If you’re not a fan of backlight bleed and it annoys you then please stay away from this display for your own sanity! Conclusion: A brilliant display that can be used with nearly all gamers and creatives. It has a little bit everything you need that serves as the in between of being low quality and cheap and high quality but expensive. Easily one of the most bang for your buck monitors on the market!

Solid 4 stars
Overall I like the monitor. I have it running on a rx6800 XT and I get really good performance out of the monitor. I noticed the viewing angle isn’t as good as my old 1080p Asus monitor that I’ve had for 6 years. I have to sit directly in front of the monitor and have it adjusted pretty high for best quality. Looking right to left across the screen I notice the image quality starts to get worse. Standard IPS panel contrast and brightness. I’m looking at getting an OLED monitor next but haven’t found one I’m excited about yet. I like it but don’t love it.

DO NOT BUY USED! Otherwise, this is an great budget 1440p 144hz monitor.
DO NOT BUY USED! I ordered this monitor in “Very Good” condition for about 200 dollars and I will never trust Amazon refurbished again. The monitor was packed by someone who obviously does not have any training and just threw the monitor and its stand into the box haphazardly. The stand itself was placed on the screen with no padding, which in turn completely ruined the otherwise good-quality monitor. Significant cuts, scrapes, and dents have now made this monitor totally worthless. I will never be trusting Amazon refurbished with higher quality items as this is totally unacceptable for something of this nature. On a more positive note, I bought one of these monitors in 2020 and it is one of the best screens I’ve used to date, especially for the price. This monitor is clear, crisp, smooth, and beautiful with vibrant color options. I use it for everything from MMORPGs to FPS titles and everything in between. I would recommend this monitor, so long as you buy a brand new one.

Great
I recently purchased the LG 27-inch monitor, and I’m pretty thrilled with my choice! The colors are super vibrant and the sharpness of the screen is just incredible. It’s been a game-changer for me, especially when I’m juggling work tasks and sneaking in some gaming during breaks. The size is perfect – not too big to overwhelm my desk, but spacious enough to keep multiple windows open comfortably. I’ve got to mention how sleek it looks too – those slim bezels make it feel like I’m diving into whatever I’m watching or working on. Plus, adjusting it to the perfect height is a breeze, and the variety of ports means I can easily connect all my gadgets. Overall, I’m seriously happy with the LG 27-inch monitor – it’s definitely added a whole new level of excitement to my tech setup!

Good monitor but not bright
It’s a great monitor. My only gripe would be that it’s not bright enough. Also the factory settings aren’t really good you should tweak it, put brightness to 100 and keep contrast high.Good overall though. IPS, 144hz, 1440p, can’t go wrong. Good response time.4.5/5

It’s great but know that you’re buying an IPS panel at 2K
Disclaimer for fair context here:This is my first true 144hz, 1440p, IPS panel experience. Up until now, I’ve only ever had descriptions and seen photos (on less than ideal monitors) of what to expect. So my review here may almost certainly be biased in terms of extremes for both pros and cons. With that out of the way, let me just say.. wow, being my first experience with an IPS, I was absolutely blown away with just how much the colors explode off the screen compared to a TN panel. You get used to it very quickly but you definitely have those moments where you’re just like “Damn, that looks really good.”The exact same can be said about the refresh rate. If you’re coming from 60hz, the difference is absolutely staggering. It’s noticeable the moment you slide the cursor across the screen. It’ll give you goosebumps at first. And again, it’s something you’ll get used to very quickly but will repeatedly be reminded of how smooth any and all motion appears at the most seemingly benign places. Especially with Windows 10 and it’s very quick but subtle flow to almost any menu and interaction. Simply opening up the start menu or action center will just appear to glide in as though it was never on the screen but just floating above it.And finally the jump from 1080p to 1440p was much nicer than I had anticipated. My mind knew it was a half way mark between 1080 and 4K but my expectations were more inline with something more subtle. Nope. You’re getting a massive upgrade in pixels here. The best thing about 1440p is that it truly is a half way sweet spot between 1080p performance and 4K sharpness when talking about gaming. The amount of extra power needed isn’t insignificant, you will notice a loss in performance, however if you’re rocking an RTX 2070 or equivalent GPU, it’s safe to say that while you might not always get the best out of its 144hz refresh rate, you’ll almost certainly exceed the 60hz you’re probably accustomed to and it really does make a huge difference. 60fps just doesn’t feel like a good performance anymore. It feels like what 30fps felt like on a 60hz monitor.Of course it’s also worth mentioning a few “buts” now.The G-Sync on this thing is incredible. I can finally turn off vsync and not get those incredibly distracting screen tears which I’m unlucky enough to be very sensitive to. However it’s worth noting that this is NOT a G-Sync monitor. It does not have the proper hardware to support G-Sync at its best. It’s G-Sync compatible. Which is to say, it was built for FreeSync but after Nvidias driver update opened G-Sync to FreeSync monitors, this monitor was able to pass the certification process and be sold as being compatible with G-Sync with no real issues. The problem with this might seem nuance but it’s worth mentioning. G-Sync will NOT work at framerates lower than 40fps. Once you drop below that, you’ll start noticing screen tearing as the monitor doesn’t have the hardware to stay in sync with the GPU at lower refresh rates. Not a deal breaker but just something to keep in mind. If you’re still rocking older hardware, you might be lowering settings to accommodate the higher resolution at G-Sync speeds or resorting to turning vsync back on.Finally there’s the IPS glow. It’s there. It’s absolutely there. It’s both not as bad and worse than I expected but it’s well within tolerance as I quickly get sucked into what I’m doing and stop noticing it. Unlike backlight bleed, IPS glow shifts around the screen based on your relative position and angle. It’s easy to adjust the monitor in such a way that it’s a minimal issue but due to the size of the display, it’s impossible to sit at any position or angle and not see some IPS glow somewhere. Usually in the top corners as tilting the monitor up seems to offer the least about of glow. How much this bothers you it’s going to heavily depend on what kind of content you’ll be playing. Darker colors show IPS glow much more than brighter scenes. So brighter games like Spyro will hide it almost entirely, but darker games like Control can be real hit or miss and if you’re not used to it yet, probably annoying. But it’s a small price to pay for the kind of color you get over TN monitors.

3 Years, No Problems
I’ve been using the LG UltraGear QHD 27-Inch Gaming Monitor (27GL83A-B) for the past three years, and it has consistently delivered an exceptional gaming and visual experience without a single hiccup. This monitor has truly become the centerpiece of my gaming setup, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with its performance. The 27-inch display with QHD resolution provides a perfect balance between screen real estate and pixel density. The colors are vibrant, and the IPS panel ensures wide viewing angles, making it ideal for both gaming and multimedia consumption. The HDR 10 compatibility adds an extra layer of richness to the visual experience, bringing games and movies to life with stunning detail. One of the standout features for me is the incredibly fast 1ms (GtG) response time. It eliminates motion blur, ensuring that fast-paced games are incredibly smooth and responsive. Whether I’m exploring open worlds or engaging in intense multiplayer matches, the monitor keeps up with the action, providing a competitive edge. The inclusion of both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync technologies is a game-changer. Screen tearing and stuttering are things of the past, and the adaptive sync technology ensures that the graphics card and monitor are in perfect harmony. The result is a buttery-smooth gaming experience, even when the frame rates fluctuate. The 144Hz refresh rate is a sweet spot for fast-paced gaming, and it contributes to the overall fluidity of the visuals. The build quality is robust, and the design is sleek and modern. The monitor’s adjustable stand provides ergonomic flexibility, allowing me to find the perfect viewing angle for extended gaming sessions. After three years of intensive use, this LG UltraGear monitor has not shown any signs of degradation in performance or display quality. It has truly stood the test of time, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any gaming enthusiast looking for a reliable and high-performance display.

Absolutely love these screens
I upgraded from two reeeally old 22″ LG 1080p screens. Tried Samsung first as I love the brand but the S6 screens couldn’t seem to handle switching between two turned on PC’s. These work flawlessly. Easy to switch inputs between two active computers. The joystick control is awesome, simply press in once, then click up to turn off the screen. Sweet! Colors are beautiful and vivid. I actually never before noticed my DAW software Cubase tints the instrument channel faders a slight green tint until now! I have these mounted on monitor arms and had no issue whatsoever. If your monitor mount is overly large you may have an issue however as the mount is recessed. Luckily my monitor mounts were precision and didn’t waste any space so I had no issue at all mounting them. Anyhow, highly recommend these screens.

Meh…
Bought it 4/21/21 and this evening it came on at around 1/2 brightness. Another way to put it is with brightness all the way up, it is just barely usable for writing and research in a darkened room. No way I’d edit pictures or game on it. So, on 12/8/23, it’s more or less a hockey puck. I knew I wasn’t buying premium when I got it. Just hoped it would last a longer than this. At least twice as long.

Power Adapters need to DIE!
How am I supposed to fit this massive power adapter in my tiny power strip? The monitor I had previously used a regular power cord, the ones that can also be used to power your PC’s power supply. I’m not sure WHY this even exists. PLUS, it’s so SHORT. I’m lucky that I was barely able to make it work but what about someone else? In my case though, I did have to purchase a 1ft power extension cord which is RIDICULOUS because I already have ten different regular power cords I could’ve used.Anyway, the monitor works great. I like that I don’t need to adjust the resolution settings on Linux (i used on Windows too) and it auto-defaults to 1440p at 144hz. My other monitor would default to just 60hz even though it could do 144hz. The setup was relatively simple though I’ve had simpler. I also wished it was curved as my old one was curved but I purchased this without thinking too much about it because it was recommended to me by someone I knew. It felt like the edges were splaying outwards since I rarely ever used a flat monitor but I was able to get used to it.All in all, it works great. No defects or anything like that but I do wish with all the money I spent they used a standard power cord. The regular power cord is like the USB-C cable of the mobile cord. Making it proprietary just makes me wary of any future purchases of this brand.

LG FTW
i just got back in to PC so i upgraded my old system. i was using an LG 24 monitor nothing special about it. so getting this beast was a major upgrade. right out of the box the base and stand are pretty heavy. def not cheaply built. the monitor itself also was heavy so put together this thing is hefty. plugged in and started immediately, no need to download any drivers. resolution auto set to 1440p and let me tell ya, WOW. opening chrome to a website and the page is more viewable compared to my 24in that was only 720p. for price point of $300, im not disappointed. i researched a lot of monitors both VA panel and IPS and this was the best choice i could have made. i did want 4k but most of those monitors were double the price and i would have to sacrifice refresh rates. if youre looking for a good size screen and vibrant image, this is your monitor.

Pixels
Make sure all your pixels are there and working, I have a single red pixel just for a certain game but doesn’t affect anything at all. Only shows when there is a dark screen for it but its hardly noticeable. I just don’t want all the pixels in that area to start randomly dying and spreading in which I hope I can still get a return for it.

Disappointing (with updates)
The monitor broke after 2 days of use. It now flickers every 6.5 seconds. I swapped cables and ports. No avail. Plugged different computers into it. Same result. So I submitted an online support ticket to LG.Let me say this: bad things happen. I’m not overly irritated the monitor broke. No production process is flawless and duds will happen. My concern is LG’s support process.I received it on Friday. It started malfunctioning on Sunday.I submitted the online support request Sunday night and received an automated email almost immediately. The closing line is “We will call you as soon as possible.” Note that word: “call.”Monday I received an email from “Arianne” reiterating the ticket number, informing me to look for additional correspondence with shipping labels, offering condolences, and providing links to create support requests. As an IT professional, I hate these emails. All of that could have been accomplished in the automated response. Additionally, since I have created the ticket which kicked off this process, I don’t need instructions or links to accomplish what I’ve already successfully done. These emails are designed to placate the individual and provide a “human touch.” I find them condescending and superfluous.Tuesday night I received the shipping label and instructions to arrange a FedEx pick up.FedEx picked up the monitor Saturday.Keep in mind, it has now been 7 days and there has been no mention of when I will receive a replacement, and no actual contact with any support professional, no troubleshooting, and no “call.”So I called them.I asked for an estimate on when I can expect a replacement. I am informed that it is under warranty (duh, it broke after 2 days). But the warranty is a repair or replace warranty. So they have 10 business days from the time they receive it to attempt repairs. It could take as little as a “couple of days” if it’s an easy fix. If they determine it’s not repairable or cost effective to repair, I will receive a replacement or a refund. I am also told to allow 3-4 days shipping each way. For those keeping count, that means 3-4 days to them, 10 business days for assessment and repair (which will include at least 1 weekend), and 3-4 days return trip. I paid for a monitor, got 2 days of use out of it, and won’t have it back in working fashion for up to 20 days if all goes well. If all does not go well, I will wait a full month for a monitor I already paid for, and then be given a refund, purchase a replacement, wait another week for delivery, and hope this process does not repeat. When I spend a few hundred dollars on something, I expect it to work. If it happens to be faulty, I expect a PROMPT replacement. Nothing about this has been prompt thus far, and they are promising more of the same. And don’t tell me you’re going to call and then make me have to reach out to you a full week later. At this point I hope it becomes a refund scenario because I am not overjoyed at the prospect of doing business with LG in the future.**First update**Last week I called LG support again since they still seem unable to contact me and provide any guidance or information. I was told the monitor was still in transit.**Second update**It is now May 17th (14 days since I submitted the support request)I called the support number to day for an update. The support person tells me the repair team has not received the monitor yet, but he will follow up and have someone contact me. He advises me to expect a phone call and that I should “keep my line clear.” He also took down my email address because they will send out “periodic updates of repair progress.” That part is concerning since that information is already in the system with the repair tick (what they refer to as an RNN number). I have not received any call or email yet. Meanwhile, my repair status is still “Appointment Confirmation” which is the same status it has been in since I submitted the request 2 weeks ago.**Third Update**It’s May 31st. They still list my monitor as being in repair status. Since my last update I have had contact with them twice. The first was when they called me to due to me filing a complaint on their website. All that person did was reiterate this is their standard support process. He took down my number and email address and informed me they would update me periodically throughout the process. To date, that call is the only contact they have initiated. I have received no updates in any format without reaching out to them myself. I called them again on the 26th to get a progress update and spoke to someone who told me it had not yet been repaired and parts had been ordered. He told me to expect the monitor between the 27th and the 31st. Seeing as how the ticket shows it still hasn’t been repaired (and the date of this update), we can all guess how accurate that information was.**Fourth Update**June 1st. It has now been 29 days since the support request was submitted.I called again today since yesterday was the deadline for them to complete repair, replacement, or refund. I am being told the repair facility is waiting on parts which will not be available until next week. I requested they escalate the call to a manager since they are now in violation of their own terms, which they have explained to me each time I have reached out for updates. The response I was given is that they will transfer the call but I will be provided the same information. I reiterate they are past their own deadline and this is unacceptable. I clearly state there needs to be a resolution today and I need to be transferred to someone who can make that happen. He says please hold. I have been on hold for half an hour.**Fifth Update**June 1st update part 2. After being on hold for just over an hour, I spoke to a woman who explained the following to me:1. They should have never given me turnaround times. They are not supposed to set those expectations because they cannot guarantee them.2. She will initiate the refund/replacement process for me, but can’t do it herself. She has to send an email to the repair department (Elizabeth) because they are the only ones who can initiate a replacement or refund request. She will send the email off instructing (asking?) them to initiate a replacement or refund request and call me back in “a few days” to “let me know what they say.”3. The parts needed to repair my monitor are on back order. So for those keeping score, I am still losing. My current status is that the department that has failed me repeatedly are apparently the only ones who can resolve the issue. I should basically just kiss my $406.59 goodbye. I have utilized the “Email the President” feature on the LG website but I am not holding my breath. In short, while I like LG products and have purchased numerous over the years, their support system is the worst I have ever encountered and I will not purchase any of their products in the future.**Sixth Update**June 8th. No one ever called me back as promised back on June 1st. The monitor simply showed up at my door yesterday (not a replacement or refund as indicated on the 1st, but the original monitor…supposedly repaired). I bit my tongue and set it up. It seemed to work fine last night. This morning, however, it is back to flickering…but now every 3 seconds. So the monitor is worse than when I sent it in. I called LG support and they said in this scenario they would ask that I send the monitor back to them for additional repairs. I refused and said I want my money back. Now I’m on hold again to speak with someone from “executive support.”**7th Update**After speaking with “executive support” on the 8th, I was told they were going to submit a request for a refund and someone would call me back on the 10th or 11th. It is now the 14th and I have heard nothing, so I called LG support again and was immediately informed by the gentleman who answered the phone that no request has been processed. So I’m on hold (again) for “executive support.” This has moved from agonizingly frustrating to downright unacceptable and bordering on theft.**8th update**After a brief hold I spoke to a woman who said she needed to put me on hold to track down a co-worker (presumably the guy I spoke to last week). 5 minutes later she came back on the line and gave the same initial greeting. I told her I was still waiting for her to track down the co-worker and she hung up on me.**9th Update**Called back and spoke to someone from the executive support/services team who says the following:1. The refund request was not submitted last week because their is a chance it could get rejected. So I have been waiting for a week on a callback to update me on the status of something they never actually did.2. Their policy is that they get TWO repair chances before a refund can be considered.3. They can submit the refund request but there is a chance it could get rejected because I have not allowed them a second chance at repairs. As of this writing, I have reached out to them twice via the message the president feature (which I received only one response to). That person said they were my case manager and I haven’t heard from them since. I have reached out via Twitter with no response yet. I have tracked them down by phone on a regular basis because no one ever follows up as they promise. And now I know they don’t call me back because they don’t take the actions they tell me they will, and if I don’t call them I’ll never know that I’m sitting with a broken monitor that no one wants to deal with. This is not “customer support.”**10th update**Charlie from LG is now my case manager. According to him, the refund request has been submitted which goes to someone higher up for review. That takes 7-10 business days (sound familiar?). If it is approved, I can expect a refund in 4-6 weeks (mid August). If it is rejected, I have to send the monitor in again, and if all works as it previously did, I’ll get it back sometime in mid August…and maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t.So lose/lose.**11th update**June 26th.Yesterday (the 25th) was the 10th business day (7-10 business days to review a refund request). I reached out to Charlie by responding to the text message he sent me on the 14th. Here is Charlie’s original text to me:”This is Charlie from LG following up with you regarding your case. I will be your case manager until this is resolved. I will be sending you updates on your case. You do not need to call into customer service. Please reach out to me directly if you have any questions or concerns and I will respond promptly.”Is anyone surprised I have received no updates regarding my case? Is anyone surprised that I got no response to my inquiry yesterday? Me neither. The saga continues.**12th update**July 26thHaven’t updated this in a while because, frankly, I just thought I was over it. Turns out, I’m not.My refund request was denied because I have to give them two repair attempts. So I sent it back.It arrived on my doorstep today. No updates or notifications since I sent it back to them, and the case tracker says repairs haven’t even been started. But it’s on my doorstep…with no power cable.I called in and explained the issue. I got put on hold while the rep “went off to see what he can find out.” He came back and told me he sent this to someone above him and that person will review and get back to me. I asked for an ETA. He said he can’t tell me “when they will have time to reach out.” I told him that was unacceptable and he hung up on me.**13th update**July 30thSo I spent two days calling the executive management hotline and they are apparently no longer taking my calls. I pulled the number for the repair facility off some shipping labels and called them (NOT LG by the way…they outsource repairs). That rep told me they had a ticket for me to return the monitor for a third attempt at repairs. I explained that it was returned to me without a power cable, and that I did not know if it needed repairs because I cannot plug it in to check. She then closed the return request and arranged to ship me a power cable. Today I received a text message from the Executive Support number. It states: “Our service records show that you recently spoke directly with an LG Presidential Liaison, is that correct? Please kindly select a number to let us know. 1) Yes 2) No” I have NOT spoken to any presidential liaison and responded accordingly. I have no idea at this point what that question and response will or won’t lead to. The power cable arrived today, and at this point it appears the monitor may be functioning properly. I’ll leave it running and reverify tomorrow since the issue has never presented immediately. At this point I should mention the guy who hung up on me on the 26th told me, “sir, we are doing our best to help you.”I really hope my experience is NOT what LG considers to be their best.**14th Update**August 6thI can now confirm the monitor is finally working. I have been using it for just over a week now and the flickering has not returned. There has been no contact from LG since they sent the missing power cable, and no follow-up to the previously mentioned text wherein they were “confirming” I had spoken to some mystery liaison (which never happened). And to be blunt, I am not calling to let them know they finally fixed it because, as I think we all can agree, they don’t really care. So, in summary, beware of LG support. It took over 3 months and ridiculous amounts of frustration to get a broken device repaired.Toodles.

It’s like a dream
I can’t even begin to say how happy I am with this purchase. I got it on Prime day for $199. If I knew the quality it was, I would have gotten it sooner for full price. I run a 3070ti and 5800x3d and everything set up automatically. Refresh rate, gsync, etc.I was going to take a picture of the quality, but a phone picture would not suffice as the quality would get lost.I spent hours reading up on resolution and monitor size. I am extremely happy with my decision to go with 1440p at 27” IPS for pc gaming. It actually looks better than the quality of my 55” 4K tv.Everything is so crisp. The stand is adjustable super easily. The input and settings button is in the middle on the bottom, which for me is perfect placement, and super easy to navigate. It’s one button that controls everything so you’re not fiddling in the dark pressing the wrong buttons. What would make it better? Maybe some built in backlight that I could match with my pc rgb.Seriously, this is completely worth it. Best investment.

An Entirely New Experience
I’ve used several 1440p 144Hz monitors (although I personally used a 1080p 144Hz TN Panel monitor before buying this), and I really have nothing but great words for this monitor (besides a few things of course).Pros:-1440p: I’ve always thought 1440p gaming was objectively bad, but now that 1440p resolution monitors can reach high refresh rates, cheaper graphics cards can run games at 1440p, and well…. actually using a 1440p monitor daily, I can definitely say it’s worth it. Everything is much crisper and more vibrant (even just going from a TN panel to an IPS panel makes an insane difference in terms of color accuracy).-Doesn’t look super ‘gamery’: (I’ve always personally been steered away from gaming accessories that boast a super aggressive aesthetic and weird color pattern, which was one of the main reasons I picked this monitor)-LG: LG is widely known to make phenomenal TVs and Monitors, and this is no exception. I’ve used an LG monitor in the past, along with multiple TVs, and I have never once experienced a dead pixel or any kind of major issue (The TVs are ~5-10 years old and I still use them to this day). I might be biased, though, as I previously explained I try to avoid super ‘gamery’ accessories (in this case, the brand).- Configuration: This monitor uses a small ball-type button to push up, down, left, and right to navigate through the monitor’s settings, which is overall really awesome. There’s also ‘quick configuration’ that allows you to change specific settings (such as brightness) without having to go through a few menus to change it like you normally would. LG did a great job on this!-Connectivity: This monitor offers 2 HDMI ports and 1 DisplayPort for connectivity, which is pretty awesome if you like having an extra console/PC at your desk-Monitor Stand: LG did an amazing job with the design of the included monitor stand. Assembling it was very straight-forward/easy and doesn’t even require screws (unlike a lot of monitor stands). Even without screws, the monitor stand is pretty firm and the possibility of it falling off is the least of my worries.Cons:Ghostying: While I greatly appreciated the accurate, vibrant colors IPS panels produce when compared to others, I can definitely notice the monitor ghosting (trails of pixels that visibly lag) that this monitor displays. It can be hard to see and isn’t extremely noticeable (I have to be looking closely to tell), but it’s something to take into consideration if that kind of thing bothers you.Other Comments:-GSync Compatible: This is honestly unnoticeable and definitely a marketing gimmick from Nvidia and compatible monitor brands, given that ‘GSync Compatible’ offers virtually no additional features (it simply means Nvidia certifies a specific monitor as a ‘Validated Experience’), unlike actual GSync Monitors. You won’t get a real GSync monitor anywhere near this price range, so it’s really not even a big deal. HOWEVER, I do notice that the monitor will sometimes briefly go black when opening a program (I have researched and found this to be an issue with GSync), which also isn’t too big of a deal since it only lasts for a second or two.

Fantastic Monitor if it’s on sale
I got mine during the Amazon Prime Day sale, and it has been the best monitor I own. In comparison, I own both a 27-inch Gigabyte monitor and a Samsung Odyssey 27 inch. I hate the Samsung do to it being a VA and it the picture looks far worse than either of my monitors. I found that this monitor is a great deal for what you get. The display is very colorful, and the performance is very noticeable. I primarily use this one for gaming and playing Starfield on it has made the experience much better.

It’s a 2k monitor that can do 144hz BUT…..
I bought this monitor back in April 2023 Because it was a vast upgrade to what I was using before then, and only being $100 more, I thought it was a great deal. the monitor is a solid monitor. I don’t really have any complaints with it, the only thing I have a problem with is they advertise it as a 2K 144 Hz monitor when in reality if you want to do 2K then it’s only 100 Hz, but I guess you can technically still sell it as 144 Hz if it has the capability to do so. Overall, it’s a great monitor. Good cheap upgrade for anybody looking for one.

144Hz Caveats
To get 144Hz from this monitor you have to set the monitor to the following settings:• FreeSync Premium— Off• Response Time— Faster• Smart Energy Saving— Off• HDMI Compatibility Mode— Off• HDR— Off• DAS Mode— OnAlso, you must use the right port on the monitor— HDMI Port 1 or the Display Port (depending on which cable you use). There are also certain limitations you might face if using an HDMI cable (ports before HDMI 2.1) and not display port. All of this is to say, the monitor only hits 144Hz under specific conditions, and there is no instructions on achieving this included. This is definitely something that should be easier to achieve, or perhaps even it’s own all-in-one setting. However, I like many others had to find this out with lots of research; very frustrating. As for everything else regarding this monitor:I’ve also seen some comments about concerns over mounting this monitor. I purchased a Huanuo, dual arm desk mount and it works great. I included a photo and you can see there isn’t much additional room though, so be aware if you are planning to mount this, as the mounting holes are recessed in the back of the monitor. Finally, the power cable for this monitor really sucks. The brick is huge, taking up a ton of space on my extension cable, and the cord itself isn’t very long either. Could definitely do with something better in that regard. All in all this is a good monitor, just some unexpected hiccups as a first time buyer.

Very good monitor, as long as you don’t need audio
I bought this monitor for both remote work and gaming about six months ago and it’s been a significant upgrade from my old Dell U2711, which is now my second monitor. The feature set is good for the price and I’ve recommended this monitor to others who are looking for an upgrade for their gaming rig.Pros:- Good picture with low ghosting at high refresh frame rates, when driven from an NVIDIA card in G-SYNC Compatible mode at 144Hz over DisplayPort. The monitor has a setting to control the response time vs. ringing tradeoff, and also shows in the OSD the current frame rates being received from the video card.- Supports HDR video input.- Control panel is fast and responds immediately to joystick controls, unlike some other monitors I’ve used that have annoying delays in the menu controls. This includes fast input switching, which I do a lot from having two computers hooked to it.- Runs cool, can barely feel any heat emitted.- No problems taking off the default stand and mounting on a standard VESA monitor arm.Cons:- Some backlight bleed in the lower-left corner, though I’ve gotten used to it. From what I’ve heard, this can vary significantly from unit to unit.- Really poor sound quality, which sounds like loud bursts of noise when listening to music. It’s noticeably worse than any other audio output I have, including the U2711, laptop headphone jack, or USB-C dock, driving it over DisplayPort or HDMI, and with either an NVIDIA or Intel graphics card output. Couldn’t figure it out until I played a sine wave sweep in Audacity and heard blatant aliasing around 6KHz. Do not get this monitor if you care about quality from the audio output.- HDR over HDMI from a GTX 1650 Super on Windows 10 was distorted (compressed), though DisplayPort input was fine. It’s also not very good at HDR in general, but it’s useful if you just need to be able to test or experiment with HDR and don’t care much about HDR image quality.Additional gotchas:- It has a lot of picture settings that are poorly documented with not necessarily good defaults and can produce a bad quality image. For instance, there’s no indication of what Gamma 1 through 4 correspond to. Before gauging the picture quality, reset the Black Stabilizer to 50, double-check against some calibration images, and try the sRGB preset. Fixing this really improved the picture quality.- The monitor can take a 4K (3840×2160) signal and advertises that it can do so over HDMI, even though the panel is only 2560×1440. This can cause Windows to send it a 4K signal even though the resolution is set to 2560×1440, resulting in a blurry image. It can take some fiddling with Windows display and graphics drivers settings to fix this (active signal resolution = 2560×1440 in Settings).

Monitor is all I hoped for
This thing is amazing. I’ve had a decent, not true gaming monitor for a long time now that was IPS. It looked good, but it was 60hz. I decided to finally go with the 144hz camp and researched around for some 1080p 144hz so I could always get 144 fps. I have a 1080ti so should pair up plenty of power going forward.Well, I got some Asus MG248QR which is supposed to be a decent TN panel. IT was fast, the gaming experience was great, but it really looked like trash. Grey on white while surfing, e-mail was hard to read. Eye strain etc. The motion was great in games and ghosting test was solid. My friend had a 27″ TN he just got that was pretty solid, looked a little better than mine, and I liked the resolution. So I decided that I was going to return this one, and just bite the bullet and spend more money. I spent 240 with tax on my TN panel that was 24″. After so much back and forth I was about to bite the bullet on a LG 27GL850 which was rated one of the top montiors, but they say the contrast was meh….. then after awhile I found this montior and was like well I don’t need HDR color accuracy and the USB hub so lets go for it. All in all it was just an extra 150 bucks over the TN I just got.Well it came in today and OH MY GOD. It’s such a difference…. the resolution def. helps, but the IPS look is back, and it’s like I have my same old good picture I’m used too, with amazing 144hz gaming. Not to mention this thing is even better ghosting than the TN had. UFO Ghosting test is almost clear, it’s pretty amazing how Modern Wafare looks on this monitor. I still get about 100-144 fps in 2k res. So it’s perfect for G-Sync. This monitor also has plugged right in and worked with Modern Warfare, the old one I would have to constantly fight turning on and off g-sync etc. to get it to run smooth without lag when it dipped below 120fps.Anyway, in a dark room, and black background of course this thing isn’t black, and no IPS will be. But that brightness makes everything pop when there is stuff on the screen, and the contrast between white and a black box is nice.Anyway, only got a very small edge bleed in top left corner, uniformity is very nice, and left edge has a very so light dim light but it’s only noticeable on black screen, big woop. IMO it’s perfect and so glad I found this for 379 bucks. Saved 120 over 850 and it’s totally worth it. Don’t look at any other monitor, bite the bullet, this is the monitor you want to get hands down if you game, and work and it’s just a perfect all around monitor.

Arrived with a stuck pixel, but decent monitor overall.
Good budget monitor overall. Only one issue that it arrived with a single stuck pixel, which could not be fixed by traditional approaches. Something to consider for those who use freight-forwarders to ship items to outside the United States and are unable to return items for refund.

Fantastic monitor with awful backlight bleed and clouding
Tl;dr: fantastic monitor monitor for colorful content, fps games, and photo editing but not for dark content like stealth games or dark (as in color not content) movies.PROS: • Outstanding color reproduction • TN levels of pixel response time. No visible motion blur at 144hz • good ergonomics and stable stand • easy to navigate menu • Joystick for OSD responsive and works well • Visual presets are all useful (sRGB mode looks best) • Adaptive sync compatible with nvidia cards (I used a GTX 1080) • anti-glare coating well balanced, removes 90% of glare without ruining colors or adding visible crosshatchingCONS: • Unacceptable amounts of Back Light Bleed • Aggressive IPS Glow • Poor Contrast (compared to other IPS monitor) • Compression artifacts in some 1080p contentOverview:I wanted to keep this monitor, I really did, but a few glaring issues made it unusable for me.It’s all plastic and is lightweight but doesn’t creak when in use (from heat build up) or wobble when you interact with it or move stuff around on your desk.Playing bright colorful games like BOTW, Valkyria Chronicles 4, or Dragon Quest XI everything looks fantastic, the colors pop off the screen in way you have to see to fully understand, if anyone was to compare this monitor side by side to any TN the difference would be obvious. There is no visible screen tearing thanks to adaptive sync compatibility, I played Metro 2033 on this and I couldn’t see any ghosting or motion blur even when looking for it.Unfortunately that’s where the positives end. The monitor has problems when it comes to displaying dark content like the black stripes you see in movies (on the top and bottom of the screen due to movies being in 21:9 aspect ratio) and in games with dark environments. In games like Metro 2033 when going through pitch black rooms the IPS Glow, Back Light Bleed, and poor contrast become evident; corners of the screen will have what looks like white and orange clouds on them, the low contrast results in a Black Crush effect where most of the black content blends together in to a blob removing key details from the scene. This applies to movies as well, I watched Skyfall (2012) on this monitor and in some parts of climax scenes in Bonds family home the orange glow was present enough to be distracting, also the Black Crush effect causes sections of the screen be so dark as to make some details hard to see.The actual IPS glow is drastically lessened by sitting at least 3.5 feet from the screen (~1 meter) to the point that it’s not visible to the naked eye and the back light bleed is also lessened (but still visible). Also, the problems with glow, contrast, and BLB are only evident in really dark scenes in games and movies, for example in BOTW even when on Hyrule Bridge at night the effect can’t been seen with the naked eye, it’s only in really dark scenes like stealth sections in the Metro games where the effect is visible.I’ve included photos of what the screen looks like in both dark and well lit rooms.PLEASE NOTE, the effect is nowhere near as bad as my camera makes it out to be but is still visible. Take what see and reduce the effect by 60% in the dark room pics and by 30% in the well lit room pics for a good idea of what it actually looks like.I have tried two of this exact same model, I bought one back in October 2019 only to return it due to the bad BLB then tried again in February 2020 hoping that one from another batch would be better, both had the same problems to the same degree.
