Easy Install, Works Great
Snapped right into an On-Q panel in a house built around 2002. All of the Cat5 jacks were wired as phone ports with regular Cat 5 cable, but fortunately they had also run Cat 5e cable to some of the ports (zip tied to the Cat 5 cable). I needed this to hook up unterminated Cat 5e cable in the wiring closet to an 8-port ethernet switch (I only needed 6 ports).

Worked great
As many have noted the color code uses the European standard so you have to swap the green and orange wires. Otherwise, worked great. I like that the CAT mounts from the front which is way easier than from the back. Doesn’t look as clean, but once the box is closed no one knows.

Watch your wiring standards!
I installed this in my daughter’s new house. The builder installed an empty Legrand structured cabinet and pulled the wires (Cat5e and Coax) into it, but didn’t terminate them. The installation of this interface module was was a bit tricky. It is awkward to install this module into the cabinet because the back of the cabinet is rather flimsy plastic. It took several minutes to get the pins lined up and snapped in, just right. Once that was done, punching down the wires was easy with a proper 110 punchdown tool. The module is only color coded for the older 568A wiring standard instead of the more modern 568B standard. The builder elected to terminate a handfulsome of the wires with the 568A standard, so I had to terminate them to this module with the 568A standard. I terminated the remainder of the bare wires left dangling out of the drywall in the various rooms with the 568B standard. Therefore, I had to use the 568B standard when I terminated those wires into this module. As long as you use the same standard on both ends of the cable, it will work fine. You just have to watch what you are doing and test each termination with a cable tester when you are done.Of course, the builder neglected to label any of the wires, so I had to trace each wire using a wire trace tool.Bottom line, this is not always as easy as it looks and you must do your homework when using one of these. Honestly, I have never used Legrand products before, but I would not choose their line of products for any home I was building. In this case, I had no choice.

Lucked out with the fit and function
I took a total gamble on this module, hoping that if I swapped it with the existing telecom module in the wiring panel that my wired ethernet ports throughout my home would function correctly. Anyways, after removing the old module, using a punch-down tool to terminate the existing wires to this new module, I was really hoping I did everything correctly.Turns out, I did, for the most part. After hooking up a an ethernet switch, I got my most desired ethernet port working in a the wall outlet downstairs. Success! And it was running at 500 Mbs (the speed I’m paying for). Another wall outlet port was also working, but only at 80 Mbs, so I’ll have to re-check the wiring on that one, as it may be wired wrong at the wall (A vs. B).In any case, you just have to hope that the existing wiring infrastructure is good wherever you install this module, as there are some many variables that can affect speed / performance. One final note, this module fits perfectly in my existing OnQ panel box and the plastic tabs lined up to the holes, no problem. It was an exact swap of the old (non-functional) telecom module.

Awesome CAT6 module
Great data module so far for my home network. Mounted easily in an an in wall residential network box and no issues terminating cables using a punch down tool. Devices are negotiating gigabit throughout using CAT6 cable. No complaints. Others have mentioned the stands may be fragile, I just think as long as you’re not going crazy and forcing the thing to fit where it shouldn’t it shouldn’t be a problem at all.

nice way to connect house ethernet
when i moved into my home, all the ethernet cables were “terminated” in the garage. after taking a closer look, i noticed they were not terminated, but in fact, just sitting in the legrand q box, with connectors on them. so, i have ethernet cables all coming to one spot, but one way to connect them to a switch. i tried adding connectors to the end, but gave up as i realized i am just not that handy. enter this this “switch.” it clipped in directly to my legrad q box with no tools and the color code for ethernet wire is listed on which “port”. i did have to buy a punch tool, but honestly, learning how to punch (5 min youtube video) was easier and cheaper than hiring someone. Once i was ready, it took me 20 min to strip, punch down, and test each “port”. once that was done, i connected each one to a standard switch and boom….all my ethernet ports were active.it is made of plastic, so just careful when handling, but it was study enough to handle the punch down tool.

The module works well in On-Q cabinet.
The module is setup as a 586A component. It took me a fair amount of time for to do the wiring to match my 586B keystone jacks.

Good but not perfect.
Does exactly what you would expect. You can route cables under or around it. The modules are marked for the 568A wiring standard, while most everything else uses 568B. I had to reverse the green and orange wires for it to work with my keystone jacks. It can also be used with the Leviton structured wiring panels, but both the module and the panel will need to be modified. On the module, the hooked feet are hexagonal in shape, so the top and bottom corners on each foot will need to be filed down a bit until the feet fit the holes in the panel. The locking pin on the other side falls between the holes on the panel, so a hole will need to be drilled between the existing ones opposite where the feet will insert. It helps to know where you are going to mount the module in the box, as you will need to drill additional holes if you decide to move it.

Expensive but it works
Legrand and the other big player in the structured media enclosure market space are well known to over charge for their accessories. The AC1058 8-Port 5e Network Interface Module is no different. It’s really hard to find 3rd party equivalents. Since I only needed to punch down 4 Cat 5e cables, I decided to just go ahead with this one.As others have mentioned, the module is color coded for 568A. I’m not as fanatical as some others about 568A vs 568B. You can easily wire up 568B by swapping the orange and green wire pairs. The module and, more importantly, the data doesn’t care about the color of the wires. As long as you wire both ends correctly, the spice (er, the data) will flow.

Keeps your in-wall cables organized.
This panel helps separate in-wall cabling from your cabinet or rack, keeping termination straight forward and limiting potential for snags, bends, or other damage. It would be nice if the termination standard was indicating somewhere on the board.

Does not fit a 2014 On-Q panel without modification
Be aware that this does not fit older (in my case, 2014) On-Q panels with a 1″ grid of mounting holes. As another review describes, I was able to make this fit by drilling the existing holes larger to fit the tabs, and drilling a new hole for the quick-release pin (the pin side does not fit the 1″ grid)Taking away 1 star for the misleading “Fits all On-Q panels” description. Otherwise, it’s a good patch panel, but I might have selected a different brand if I knew that I’d have to fabricate the mount

inaccurate pictures on website
There are actually two versions of this item made by On-Q. Amazon page displays pictures of the older version, with a casing made out of metal. The newer version has a casing made out of plastic. The item that Amazon sends you is the newer version. Unfortunately, the tabs on the plastic casing is quite thicker than the metal ones. This means that if you have an older On-Q telecom closet, this won’t fit in the holes. I had to return these and buy an older version from eBay as it seems that the major retailers are only selling the new version. If you have an older closet, be aware of this potential issue.I have attached pictures showing the differences. The black is the one that ended up working for my closet, while the white one is the one that Amazon sent.

Works great and fit in my 14 year comm panel.
Works great. I was nervous some of the reviews said the new model with the white tabs didn’t fit in older ONQ panels.I got one of the new white tab models and it fit perfectly in my 14 year old panel box.I’m getting gigabit speeds from all ports and haven’t had any stability issues.

Used it to wire my apartment for ethernet
Just what I needed to get my apartment’s ethernet set up. This + a PoE switch in the junction box and a PoE injector inline with the modem made for a super clean install. Worth every penny just to be able to get my roommate’s 50 foot ethernet cable off our living room floor.

Works very well with a leviton wireless box if you are confident in drilling holes yourself
Works wonderfully and the cat6 wires crimp on well. This wasn’t made for the leviton wireless box which meant I had to drill an extra hole to accommodate the press button that locks the block in place. I forgot what size drill bit I used, but start small and work your way up slowly bit by bit and it’ll snap right in

Excellent Patch Panel
Essential for a reliable structured wiring implementation. When running Cat 5 wiring between wall jacks and an ON-Q cabinet, it is much better to terminate the wires at both ends onto 110 punch down blocks instead of attempting to install an RJ45 jack directly on the end of the wire. Once each wire is terminated onto this device, you can then use short RJ45 Patch Cables to cross-connect to a switch.

Not as easy to work with as a rack panel patch but great if you have an in wall structured wiring center. Would by again.

15/16 ports worked
I bought two 8 port items- one worked flawlessly, the other ended up having one terminal out of 8 not being usable- we thought it was an issue with the cord but after multiple troubleshooting efforts, we found the issue was the terminal. We’ve just marked that port unusable but it was annoying.

Garbage! Do not but buy!
So far four out of five ports that I’ve tried do not work. Even the one that does work Eagles in and out. I’ve tried terminating several times using two different punch down tools and they don’t work. I had almost zero issues terminating into keystones and also my 24 port Leviton punch down panel.

Works well once you figure it out
I just helped a buddy who bought this install it in his new place. Most networking equipment have some sort of a wiring information in the product packaging and/or on the product itself. This had neither. The punch downs had color coding but cat5, 6 have the colors with white. So does the solid go first? Or the striped? Not sure. I finally found some doc after looking around for an hour that this product is setup to be wired in the T-568A standard. Looking more I found a similar product that indicated that the solid should be punched down first, then the striped of the color. The product worked and worked well!!But if I have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to use it because of lack of documentation it is rated lower.

Also fits OpenHouse Enclosures
Fit perfectly in either the OpenHouse 36″ or 18″ enclosures. When you consider that OpenHouse only offers a CAT5E similar module, it’s nice to know that you can substitute this CAT6 module without issues and down the road support a 10 Gbps LAN, albeit at distances NTE ~50 meters. The directions are clear too.

Really helps organize network wiring
This is a great product! It fits well into a Legrand media enclosure. It’s a little hard to wire but no more difficult than any other punch block. The only thing to be aware of is that if you follow the color coding on the punch block, it is wired to the TIA568A standard, which is used more in Europe. The TIA568B standard is used more in the United States. It would have been good to find this out by reading about it in the documentation or perhaps printed on the punch block. The fix is to simply switch the green and orange pairs. This is fine but I would have liked to know about it first. Other than that, it is a really great piece of hardware. I got a small 8-port switch (TP-Link TL-SG108) and a 10-pack of 6-inch Cat5e cables. It all fits perfectly into the Legrand 9-inch enclosure.I read a review that says it’s hard to punch with a 110 punch tool because the back of the enclosure is flimsy plastic. I wouldn’t call it flimsy – it’s perfectly adequate but the complaint is true nonetheless. I simply put a 2×4 behind the enclosure and it punches perfectly. Obviously this won’t work for everyone but in my unfinished basement it was a good solution.Overall, this is an excellent product. If you have ever tried to hand wire a male RJ45 connector you will know that paying for a punch block is well worth the money. All the cables are neatly tied inside the enclosure and it works great!

My first time with a patch panel and punch down tool!
I was a little nervous getting my Legrand IT wall cabinet cleaned up. Before I had everything on a wire rack in the closet below this wall cabinet. I took the plunge and bought numerous Legrand On-Q accessories. I also bought a punch down tool to go with this.I watched a couple YouTube videos, read the instructions, and I was successful in getting everything connected! I’m really happy with the results.

Fits perfect!
Fit my circa-2002 On-Q panel perfectly. I was apprehensive about ordering this based on other reviews saying it did not fit some older panels, but went ahead anyhow since I am not afraid of doing a bit of “modification” when necessary. Not sure if there are different layouts for some On-Q cabinets or not, but it snapped right into mine.

Incorrectly wired ports, Look elsewhere.
I purchased this when reworking my home network to support all the distance learning, work from home, do everything on-line COVID mentality. Initially wired only a few of the ports to get the required drops completed. Tested with a Scout Pro 3 tester and everything checked out fine (for those ports anyway). A month later (return window closed) I go to add a few more drops now that my upgrades moved to include multiple old Netgear switches in favor of a single Ubiquiti POE switch. After wiring the exact same way my test showed as crossed over. Double checked everything including my patch cords. Issue seems to be with the first few ports. While I can still make this work, I should not have to double check crappy manufacturing. I have just ordered a new panel. I will plan to test all the ports before I deploy it this time. Live and learn, will never use Legrand or OnQ again if I can help it.

Poorly designed
The left mounting tabs are connected to the main body of the module with barely any plastic. The plastic itself is so soft, the tabs sheered off so easily, I can barely describe how little effort it takes to render this module 100% useless. Imagine the force needed to turn a door handle. Imagine that being enough force to break any of your networking equipment.PS. The item pictured here is version 037E. You will receive 0379 though. Version 037E has a metallic mount, most likely because of the issue described here. You won’t get that though. You’ll get version 0379 with the cheap plastic mount. Then you may ask Amazon for the correct version, and they’ll say sure. But guess what? They’ll send version 0379 with the cheap plastic mount.
