CAUTIONS:
- Only compatible with the CTIA standard 3.5mm audio port, not applicable to the OMTP standard (please don’t worry, more than 98% of the headphones in the US and European markets currently use the CTIA standard, and there are corresponding solutions in the accompanying manual)
- Be sure to plug the headset into this adapter first, and then connect the adapter to the computer, otherwise the computer will determine that the microphone is missing when detecting the hardware, which may cause the headset microphone function to be useless.
- The internal circuits of Apple original earphones, Beats earphones, and Bose Earbuds are independently designed by the brand. The internal impedance will occasionally not match the hardware of some old computers and mobile devices, which may cause the microphone to be undetectable and unusable. Circumstances, please purchase according to your own circumstances!
- When connecting to Xbox One, the connection must be relayed through the official Xbox One audio adapter.
- The female port of this adapter must be connected to the TRRS 4-pole interface, and the microphone function of any TRS 3-pole interface device will not be available. (Please check the pin of your connector, the 3 rings are TRRS and the 2 rings are TRS), it does not support volume +/- and other wire control functions.
- The adapter is not suitable for condenser microphones.

Why four stars?
Splitter works exactly as expected. I purchased this to replace my old one that was fraying. It showed up shorter than I expected, but that’s my fault for not reading the description. It’s braided cord so it feels very sturdy so I trust it won’t fray quickly, however I’ve been having an issue where it doesn’t detect the microphone portion and it causes my computer to send me “What Device Did You Plug In?” notifications every now and then.Other than that issue, it works exactly how is expected.

update: turns out you just have to plug the cord in a lot harder than i thought the first time! thank you koopao for reaching out to let me know :)i thought that this being a popular brand it would be reliable but the connection is pretty inconsistent. i can’t just plug my cord into the slot all the way, i have to plug it in only partly and twist it. during this i’ll hear audio in one or two ears, once i get 2 ears it will usually stay like that. i only have to do this mainly after changing the cord which isn’t often so it isn’t a big deal but it’s annoying. i don’t know if all brands are like this or if i just got a bad product and if so i’d like a replacement.

I recently built a gaming PC and realized too late that the case I chose had separate 3.5mm mic and headphone jacks. My current headset, (designed for consoles with the 2 in 1 mic and headphone functionality,) wouldn’t work with the two separate jacks available. I bought what seemed like it might have been the best value, and it was right on the money. Simple and Easy
I’ve been having issues with bluetooth gaming headsets so I decided to go back to the tried and true method: wired. My PC has individual mic and headphone plugs so I was forced to buy a splitter.I chose this one because it has gold plated connectors. It works as expected and I haven’t had any issues with it. The plugging force wasn’t excessive either.One thing I liked about this was the little instruction booklet that showed what a fully inserted / connected plug looks like.

Perfect match for the various earbuds with mics I seem to collect
I seem to collect an abundance of earbuds many with a built-in microphone. When I want to use one of them with a desktop computer that has a separate “mic” and “earbud” jack on the front/top it was impossible unless I used a splitter like this. Simply it takes the connections from the TRRS plug on the earbuds and splits it out into two TRS plugs that can be plugged into the computer. Be aware that there are at least two “standards” for these TRRS plugs and only one will work correctly. The good news is the more prevalent used will work. The CTIA/Apple standard works for those interested, but the OMTP/Nokia won’t. They switch around a couple of the wires to the plug. I can now plug the various earbuds into the splitter and use them on any of the computers I own using two audio jacks.

Perfect replacement for a damaged cable
I bought this to replace a damaged cable for my gaming headset. It is about 9″ long, which is much shorter than my original, but actually works better for me. Sound quality is good, and people can hear me clearly.

Works Great – Perfect if you Built your PC
If you’re like me and you built your PC, you might find that you have separate inputs for your headphones and your microphone, and your old wired headset probably doesn’t have two separate jacks. Probably a silly oversight on my end, but oh well.This will solve your problem. It allowed me to plug in my old Playstation wired headset and play online games with friends. The sound quality on my end is great and my friends haven’t lodged any complaints about my microphone either.

Works great, but don’t plug it into itself!
Very good sound, and high quality materials for the price. Just make sure don’t plug it into itself. I had too much to drink one night and decided to give it a try. There was a bright flash of light and when I could see again, I found that I had been transported from my home in the north-east to Valdosta, Georgia. At fist I thought I had traveled back in time to the mid-fifties as well as the distance, but it turns out that the southern states are just like that.It took me almost a week to find someone who spoke English, and they agreed to drive me to Atlanta in exchange for my socks, (for some reason…), where I was able to board a plane back home.Be careful!

Great when you need to split audio and microphone
I needed to split my audio and microphone for my personal computer. This was great for that. However I did have some slight issues with wear and tear. The cables tend to break around the ends. It can also have some bad sound at times.

I used this item with my Xbox headphones for my computer, and they worked just fine.There were no issues when initially plugging it into my computer, just really “plug and play”. As far as sound goes, it sounds fantastic, there does not seem to be any type of sound degradation while using the splitter.The item itself looks to be very well made with higher quality materials, it does not feel like it will easily break or unravel anytime soon. It also came in a resealable, (higher quality) plastic pouch with their brand on it. I thought that was pretty cool, so if you wanted, you could just store the adapter in the pouch whenever you are not using it (as to not loose the adapter).

I guess it works?
I don’t know if it was just my luck, or if it was my new computer, or what, but I’ve had all 3 headsets I’ve used with this thing stop working within a few weeks. I tried a super cheap $3 pair of earbuds, a pair of Turtlebeaches from 2018, and a Sony headset with this since my new computer has separate audio/mic jacks instead of one combined jack. The Turtlebeaches lasted about 2 weeks before they stopped working, but their cord was a little wonky, so I chopped it up to that. The $3 pair had the mic cut out after around a month, which I attributed to their cheap price and the fact that I’d had them for several years. The Sony headset lasted around 3-4 weeks before all audio cut out. Before each of these stopped working, they were pretty fine and worked well until their last day or two. But the last day or two, I would have to unplug and re-plug, rotate cables, and even restart my computer for them to work. I might just go with a USB headset next time. But as for this cable, I mean, it did seem to work while my headsets worked.

Great Earbuds for the money!
I wanted something less weighty and bulky than my current headphones. These earbuds did the job when it came to sound quality. The only complaint I have is when you slide the volume control to a minimum, the sound doesn’t completely silence. I play a game that I cannot control the volume on and it’s very loud. So I can turn it down to bearable levels with the earbuds, but to bring it lower, I have to turn the sound down on my PC. Otherwise, great earbuds. Nice-looking a good quality. I haven’t tried the mic yet.

This cable impressed me with it’s solid construction, using higher quality materials, and rugged protection that will prevent broken wires. Corsair headset cable didn’t work. This did.
I bought a corsair headset that came with a similar cable. Unfortunately the microphone cable portion of it wasn’t working very well. I had to wiggle the chord and keep it in a certain position for it to work. Even after returning it and getting a new headset with a new cable it still had the same issue. I thought it was the laptop until I bought this cable. After using this cable it was really plug and play. I’ve had it for a while and still no issues. The sound quality is good, and the build quality of the product feels durable. I recommend this to anyone that needs a new or backup splitter mic cable.

I thought this was a terrible product, but I was mistaken…
If you want the solution to intermittent loss of headset and/or mic, go to the last X sentences (after the word “TERRIBLE”). After several years, my old PC headset finally died, so I went to replace it and found that most of the new headsets had a different plug, to accommodate VOIP phones and smart phones. (Yes, you can plus HEADSETS into a smart phone!) Unfortunately you can NOT plug these headsets into older desktops and laptops (which I have.) So, I needed a splitter like this product I reviewed al the splitters, and this one looked like the most reliable one at the lowest cost. When it arrived, I plugged my new headset into this splitter and plugged the splitter into my desktop, in the usual manner. I had a TERRIBLE time getting this all to work reliably from the beginning. I had problems with the headset and mic cutting in and out and it took several days to get it to mostly work. I tracked the problem down to the splitter. And since it was acting like a broken wire in the splitter, I ordered a new one, from a different supplier. But before it arrived, this one started to work mostly reliably, so I just left it in. It is now been in place for 3 or 4 months, and I was installing Linux on my PC, and I was having TERRIBLE audio issues. After a couple of hours I fixed all the audio issues except one – the darn headset was NOT working again! So I unplugged it from everything and started plugging it all back together, closely watching al the wires and connections. While doing this, I noticed that the connection between the splitter and the headset was not quite completely seated, even though I used the usual amount of force putting them together. (There was a small gap between the 2 pieces of the connection.) So I pushed them together extra hard, and was rewarded with a sharp “click”! And now magically, the headset has been working perfectly! So did the same thing with the OTHER splitter I bought, and it also had the same issue! Apparently, with these kinds of headsets, if you use a splitter, you need to push the headset connector extra hard into the splitter, until you hear a “click”. I hope this helps anyone else having problems with this product. It’s too bad that the supplier did not mention this in the description, it would have saved me a HUGE headache!

Good Price, Looks Great, Quality Sound Transfer.
The media could not be loaded.
We had gotten a brand-new Headset for gaming on the PC. However, the PC did not have an input for a single wire. Only the speaker output (green) and the mic input (red) on the back. So, I went looking for an adapter and came across this one. Not only was the price reasonable for being delivered to my house, but it looked high-quality as well. Purchased two of them, one for use and a second for if the first one craps out or gets damaged. (Can’t take it for granted that they will always be available if you need a replacement.) Plugged the Headset into it (do have to mention that it took a bit of strength to get it in correctly) and plugged the adapter into the respective ports. Now all it’s doing is bridging the gap, but the quality of sound and voice is not lost in the slightest which can happen with bad adapters. I was honestly surprised and would strongly recommend this product to anyone else who needs an adapter for their Headset. I cannot comment on customer service, since my order came on the day it was said to and nothing was wrong with the product, so I have had no need to talk with them. Hope this helps!
