Simple, rugged, and surprisingly good sound..

I love how fast the response on the power button is to switch it on and off. If you’ve experienced slow hardware before, you’ll know what I mean when you try something this fast. I bring mine in the shower instead of playing my cell phone on loud right outside the shower door when I listen to a podcast or video (where I’d still miss bits of audio no matter how loud I had it).Sound quality is impressive for its size. I have a couple Bose portable speakers. Of course the Clip 3 is not that good cuz Bose is almost 10x the price. But it’s maybe 2-3x the sound quality at most and they can’t go in the shower. So there’s serious value here. I got one for my mom and she just thought it was a high quality speaker: “the sound is so clear!”I don’t have anything negative to say about it. Though it’s hilarious my black and white camo version was 10 bucks cheaper than the teal colored one. Like literally 25% more just for a color. Don’t be foolish and fall for that. Get one of the cheaper colors cuz you’ll feel even better about the value.

Not as loud as similar sized speakers, happy with the waterproofing though. Has been on several paddle board trips with no issues

    Decent waterproof speaker for size

I’ve used the Wonderboom speakers for a few years. I found this JBL Clip3 on sale and decided to give it a try because of the built in clip feature, flat round design and waterproofing.the first one i received must have been someone else’s open box or something because the clip was bent and after a day’s use it came loose from the body.I received a replacement thankfully from Amazon and have been happy with the product. It doesn’t have the same quality in sound as the wonderboom – less bass and not nearly as loud. I wanted this for use on and around a lake and have been able to strap to a raft or life vest to bring tunes to the water. It does float just beneath the waters surface so if you are in darker water I would suggest a much brighter color than the dark green I chose. It blends right in with the lake unless the JBL logo is face up. Haven’t tested the 10 hour play time but if i charge every day/ two days I’ve not had an issue. I don’t see a reason to have this on for 10 hours. I like that is is less bulky than the wonderboom but I do have concerns about the clip bending again. I used to use a strong clip with the wonderboom and used the built in loop to clip that speaker which worked fine. But for hiking, camping, shower, and floating on the lake you can’t go wrong with this speaker. Especially at more than half the cost of wonderboom if you wait to buy during a sale.

Excelente producto, sonido satisfactorio. La carcarza se desprendio en una caida pero la reforce con pegamento. Estoy contenta con su calidad y sonido. Be a “walking song”

Had I known how much I would use this, I would have gotten one a long time ago. I have a larger waterproof JBL that I use out by the pool and love it but I like this one even better. It is like you are literally a “walking song”. Hands free is the best thing. You can do all things and listen to whatever you want. The range is good my music source can be in the house and now doing yard work is dance party with the plants. I just love it and have to wonder how I have lived to be 65 without it. LOL

Radio did not work in my car

I didn’t want to spend money to research why since I think it is in the wiring somewhere. Mentioned this to my son hoping he would fix the radio problem. He said easier is bluetooth a portable speaker to my cell phone and picked out this speaker. I ordered it and it works perfect. I set it up before I leave the house and it only take a few seconds. Just love the convenience and size. Definitely recommend.

This speaker has the best sound for its size I’ve ever heard.

I love it for its sound. I’ve heard better sound from larger speakers but not one of this size. The battery life is amazing. I spend many days out in my boat fishing and it will play music all day. This is actually the second one of these speakers that I’ve owned. I broke the charging port on my old one after many years of use. That was probably my fault and I can’t complain because of the many hours of entertainment that it provided. For the price you can’t beat these little speakers.

I never thought this thing would be as sturdy as it was. Quality never dipped either I used this for work for an entire year and now it’s my everything speaker. It’s loud enough for anything you need indoors amd it can take a heck of a beating in the process. These as top tier. Great gifts for workers as the clip makes it INFINITELY usefully. Clip it onto your belt, bag, work station, ect.

    Great sound!

This little portable speaker packs some sound. Our other speaker died & we wanted something affordable & portable. We have tested it outside & inside. It still produces great sound and is so compact we can take it anywhere. Even clipped it to my jeans while decorating outside for Christmas. It could use a longer charger cord but other than that, can’t say enough about it. Planning to order a few as gifts.

The set up and synching with a device was easy. It works just like I hoped. I am very happy to be able to stream radio or a podcast in a steamy bathroom and keeping my devices safely away from the moisture. It a useful device throughout the house as well.

    Hubby loves it

Gift for hubby and he loves it! Bigger that e guessed from pictures. Maybe baseball diameter? Clip is good, not too small to clip to “manly things” he says. Like bars of the golf cart, risers of metal storage shelves etc. And gets loud while still clear. He really enjoys it.

Three years on, the JBL Clip is still going.

I started a new job in 2020, right before the sickness came, and it was dead quiet. I bought this little honey so I could not go spare in the silence but still be able to interact with people and I’ll tell you what, if it ever dies, it’s getting a Viking Burial. JBL made a great sounding speaker that easily lasts a whole work day and then some, isn’t intrusive, and takes everything I can throw at it and it just refuses to die. A lovely piece and I’m very happy with my purchase!

Fantastic quality speaker for the price, maybe not as loud as some people would like

Let me start by saying I love this speaker. I work at Walmart and we have these for $59, and only in black, camo, and silver. I’ve been wanting one for a while so I decided to go on here and check for cheaper prices first. Boy, am I glad I did! Not only was I able to get these for a good $20 cheaper, but in my favorite color; pink! These are very good quality speakers, the first thing I did when I got mine was throw it in the pool to see if it was really waterproof like it says. I only left it in there for about a minute because I just wanted to hurry up and listen to music, but it does indeed float and no piece of hardware seems to have suffered as a result (there’s a rubber piece that covered the aux and charging port, and I worried that water might deep in after so long. But that appears to have not been the case). So if you’re thinking of taking one of these to go casually canoeing or kayaking, I would definitely recommend it, just so long as you’re not going white water rafting or anything intense (the speaker is pretty small and can fit in the palm of your hand, so it might get lost a bit too easily in rapids even if it does float). Now, onto the sound. The sound quality itself is – in my opinion – about what you’d expect from JBL. Very pristine and clear, no lags or sudden disconnections from Bluetooth like some speakers have. The volume honestly doesn’t get all that high, even with your phone and the speakers’ volume at full max. However, it’s plenty loud enough for normal folk to enjoy while you’re swimming, hiking, boating, working, or whatever. Though when you take into consideration its small size, I am honestly impressed with how loud it gets. So if you’re wanting something compact that you can blast the neighbors out of house and home with, this definitely isn’t for you.Now the clip. Let’s face it, the thing that probably attracts us most about this speaker is the fact it has a built-in clip for you to take it wherever you want; portable music! And it honestly accomplishes that feat really really well. A lot of cheaper clips won’t stay straight when you try to hook them onto things, and you have to physically move it back into place to fully ‘hook’. Not this thing. I’ve hooked it onto doorknobs, backpacks, the belt loops of my jeans…I’ve never had to readjust. Just clip and go. And for that reason alone I feel this thing is a keeper. The battery life is supposed to be around 10 hours, and I honestly haven’t used it a WHOLE lot so far but it feels like it lasts longer to me. That may be just because I’ve been using it for a few hours on and off and not for the 10 hours straight, but the battery still lasts a good while. I got about 8-9 hours right out of the box alone, with no charging. The ONLY thing that bugs me about this thing are the tiny, almost microscopic rubber nubbies on the bottom. I know they’re probably there for traction or whatever if you set it down on something, but they really irritate me to feel against my skin when I’m holding or carrying it. However it’s a small thing that’s definitely not a dealbreaker, and 90% of the time it’s gonna be hooked to something and not rubbing against my skin anyways. So other than that little thing this speaker is 100% gold to me!Basics overall:1. Sound quality: 9/102. Volume: 7/103. Portability: 10/104. Waterproofness: 10/10 (though granted, I haven’t extensively tested this one, how long are you really gonna leave this thing in the water?)5. Battery life: 10/106. Color: 10/10 (I know the pink looks terrible in the photos I provided, but I took them at nighttime under a *very* yellow light. Under normal lighting conditions it looks just like the stock photo)

    Your Perfect On-the-Go Companion

Pros:Stylish and portable design with a sturdy carabinerExcellent waterproof performanceImpressive battery life for long-lasting playtimeIdeal for quieter settingsDurable and built to withstand outdoor adventuresCons:Not super loud for noisy environmentsMicrophone quality not the bestThe JBL Clip 3 in Blue is an exceptional waterproof, durable, and portable Bluetooth speaker that has truly won me over! It’s become my go-to companion for outdoor adventures and impromptu hangouts with friends. While there are a couple of minor considerations, everything else about this speaker is simply fantastic. The first thing that caught my attention was its stunning blue color, making it a stylish addition to my outdoor gear. Its compact size and sturdy build make it incredibly portable, and the integrated carabiner allows me to clip it to my backpack with ease. This convenience is unbeatable, especially during hikes and beach outings. As for its waterproof feature, I’ve tested it by the poolside, and it passed with flying colors! I don’t have to worry about accidental splashes or light rain; the JBL Clip 3 handles it like a pro.The battery life is another highlight, offering up to 10 hours of continuous playtime. I can enjoy my favorite tunes all day long without needing frequent charging breaks. The noise-canceling speakerphone is a great addition, ensuring crystal-clear calls, even in noisy environments. My friends were amazed at the quality of our phone calls during our outdoor gatherings. Now, while the sound quality is impressive for its size, I did notice that the speaker isn’t super loud. In quieter surroundings, it’s perfect, but in noisy outdoor settings, I wished for a bit more volume.Another consideration is that I haven’t tested the microphone quality extensively during calls. Although the speakerphone worked well for me, I can’t provide a detailed assessment of its performance in various scenarios.Despite these minor points, the JBL Clip 3 excels in almost every other aspect. Its portability, durability, and waterproof capabilities make it the perfect travel companion, and the battery life ensures hours of uninterrupted enjoyment. In conclusion, the JBL Clip 3 in Blue is a top-notch Bluetooth speaker that offers remarkable portability, durability, and sound quality for most situations. Its versatility makes it an excellent choice for anyone seeking a reliable outdoor companion. Though not the loudest and microphone quality not extensively tested, its impressive features far outweigh these minor considerations. If you’re looking for a compact and powerful speaker to enhance your outdoor experiences, the JBL Clip 3 is an outstanding choice!

Great sound for a small speaker

We bring this out with us anytime we go paddle boarding. It has great sound quality and the bluetooth distance is great. Waterproof quality is great, have not had any issues after 2 years of use with it. Only thing that I’ve noticed is the clip has bent but thats typical with heavy use. Would recommend for outdoor water actives or even in the office/car if you something, it works well.

    Portability: Great! Sound Quality: meh

A little bit of background here, almost 3 years ago i got a jbl charge 2+ speaker, that i adore, it has great built quality, great battery life, great sound quality and bass, also it’s a tank almost indestructible, it has seen a lot of drops, but it not great for carrying it around also it is quite bulky and heavy. So a year ago i got for a great price a tribit x-go that was fairly decent portable, battery life, sound quality but a bit of lack of punch from bass and built quality, so i was fairly satisfied with it until it died on me 6 months after. So couple months later during black friday i saw this cheaper than the wonderboom, that i have used a couple of times and sound pretty good, so i got this one instead because of form factor and jbl name. Now get it on with the review of this speaker, as the title says, for portability i give it an “A” because the form factor it’s great for outdoor activities without worrying about space, weight or where to carrying it because you can clip it to any strap of your backapck (pro tip: get any carabiner to clip it so don’t ruin the one built in as some reviews says) or place it any side pocket even in your pants pocket.Next for the sound quality i’ll give it a “C”, because it sound pretty plain and uncolorful, and almost with any bass, but it’s undestandably because of the tiny drive, but still is a bit of a letdown that has a pretty mediocre sound. An advantage its the volume, that get pretty loud but muffles a little the sound not so bad, so it’s bareable enough.Moving to built quality, i think it’s a “C+”, because the fabric feels a little bit cheap also almost inmediately some ends starting unravel, but it looks pretty good and this far hasn’t stained much, the play/pause and volume buttons feels nice and sturdy and clickity enough but the rubber that covers them started to peel bits days ago, the bottons of power and pairing are pretty big and easy to find but a little bit separation between them would be nice but are a little bit mushy to push. The carabiner built in it is pretty nice also it’s great that has rubber inside the metal so don’t damage to what is cliped but reviews says that tends to fail so i use another carabiner. Now to the most anoying thing of this speaker is: the beats of on/off and pairing are pretty anoying and long, also sound from like a chinese cheap speaker. I haven’t put to test the durability or the waterproofing yet but will see how it holds. Also the color seems little bit dull than the pictures but still seems nice. And lastly the conectivity and battery life, the highlights of this speaker, it deserves an “A”, because the pairing it’s pretty straightforward, easy and fast. Also it stays conected even if the source is pretty afar like 20 meters or more ir there is nothing between them, there is neither drops or disconections so far. now the battery life this month i only have charged it a couple of times even i use it almost every day couple of hours. so pretty great so far.In conclusion, unless you really want a really portable outdoosy speaker this is great for that reason and could be worth the full retail price, but for anything else maybe not but if you got a good deal like myself for black friday about half of the retail price, its pretty decent speaker even with its defects it has a pretty quality-price relantionship.Pros:Best form factor portable speaker.Pretty good battery lifeGood conectivity and easy pairingPretty loud volumeResponsive and quick buttonsGood looking and nice colorLightweight and smallCons:Pretty mediocre sound with almost no bassFabric quality not the bestSpecially anoying on/off and pairing beatsPretty expensive retail price.

I use this in the shower. The sound is great!

I owned a mini JBL Bluetooth speaker in the past, and the sound was great and – amazingly – it lasted eight years(!) before crapping the bed. So when shopping for a new speaker, I was looking to save a little money and checked out different brands but just kept coming back to JBL based on reviews. When I came across a mini waterproof JBL I knew I had to have it because I listen to music/podcasts in the shower. Let me tell you, even over the sound of water rushing, the sound is great! Crisp, clear, loud, and has bass (but if you’re looking for a REALLY deep bass, this might fall a little short). It doesn’t distort the voices on the podcasts I listen to or the trainers/music when I’m working out on my spin bike and have this connected to my laptop. The battery life seems great. I can use this a few times a week while in the shower for 30+ minutes at a time plus an hour while exercising once a week before I have to charge it.As for Bluetooth pairing, it does seem a little finicky when pairing to a different device, like my MacBook after I’ve had it connected to my iPhone. Sometimes it just seems like it gives up, and I have to press the pairing button a second or third time to get it to connect. The longevity wasn’t nearly as great as my last speaker – I’ve only had it for two years, and now the battery doesn’t seem to last more than five minutes. However, I have accidentally dropped this thing on the hard floor, including the concrete in my basement exercise room, more than a few times (oops) and the back always came off when that happened, but it easily snapped back into place. I also forgot to put the little charging cover back on once when using it in the shower and set it down on a shelf where soap might have gotten into it. So maybe it’s my fault and not the speaker’s fault that it died young…All in all I absolutely recommend this speaker and am going to buy a replacement. I don’t see myself ever straying from JBL!

    Inexpensive, good quality

I’ve got several of these, for home, the office and the car (for camping etc). The sound is pretty darn good for the price point. The clip is handy. They make excellent gifts for teens. The only slight criticism I have is that if you’re the kind of person who’s driven insane by occasional bluetooth re-pairing issues, all of mine have had the same occasional problems, with my iPhone and with my kids’ Samsungs. If you can overlook this (it doesn’t take a minute to fix!) — highly recommended.

Dissapointed….. less than 6 months of life

I’m sad to say this is my first time with Jbl ( I’m actually a bit of a Bose brat ) especially since in the beginning I loved this little guy. I wanted a small but loud speaker to use specifically for my outdoor excursions, primarily hiking. Taking the chance, I ordered this just in time for hiking trip in Arizona at the end of February.Boy did I love this so much! I use it if not dang near daily, it’s definitely weekly, so I get frequent use out of it. Mind you I already own the Bose sound clip mini (BSCM) so this is what I’ll be comparing it to.The clip:One of the reasons I decided to not make my BSCM permanent trip speaker is the clip. Unlike JBL the clip their clip is this kind of stretchy material that inserts in a whole so once the tension is released it automatically tightens into the spot. Tbh I hated this and ended up overstretching bc the places I decided to put it. Totally user error bc if you used it to only clip on things like your belt loop there would be no issues.I absolutely loved the clip of the JBL. Typically I use carabiners to add extras to the outside of my bags like keys on my purse or hammock in my backpack and doing this to my Bose did not make me feel that it was secure. The Jbl however was a very secure clip and usually would go on my Fanny pack (completely unrelated but it’s a Naruto leaf village Fanny pack and it looked so good clipped on to this!)The color:for something like a small speaker I like it to be lighter or bighter colors so that I can easily find it compared to my usual go to black. Bose does not have the largest selection of colors for the BSCM, I chose the light blue color which is nice but I loved the red on the JBL.The sound: the JBL packed quite a punch especially considering I’m using it on hiking trips so I don’t need it to be obnoxiously loud( which is honestly my preference) since I like to still be aware of my surroundings and what not. I could have it on the loudest and feel satisfied with the sound abd the loudness. Comparing it to my BSCM, the Bose sounded even clearer and it’s idk maybe 50-60% high was the highest setting on the JBL. However for me this wasn’t an issue bc I wouldn’t really want it louder than what it gave me…However toward this last month, I’m not certain but I felt like the volume wasn’t getting as loud as it once did. Like I said I’m not certain since it’s not a night and day difference listening it as much I found myself making sure the speaker was clipped in a way that it was facing outward and not directly against me making it sound “lighter “ that I’d expected. The product quality:overall fairly durable… at first. Now like I mentioned before I basically 99.95% of the time had this clipped on to my Fanny pack or occasional my crossbody purse which always end up being about waist height or my backpack. Even if it had fallen, I’m 5’1” so it’s not falling from some giant and the clip was pretty sturdy so it didn’t get much rough and tumble. However within the first month of owning I dropped my bag and speaker with it off my desk ( so what maybe 3/4ft from the ground) and the face of the speaker came rolling off. It was an easy fix and I popped it back on. As time passed I found myself popping that stupid thing on more often especially within the last 2 months and all of this week, multiple times in one day.At first it rarely popped off, typically from setting my bag to hard on the counter. Maybe around may I noticed that the fabric that is tucked around the edges were starting to unravel until it finally most of it didn’t even tuck in much any more when I popped the face back on. Super glue however made it work although not a noticeable change on keeping the face to stay on.This week I was in Yosemite and of course this was the week repeatedly I would look down and see the face of the speaker gone. Meaning I’d have to back track in high 90 degree weather and in some cases back tracking the steepest trails to find the damn thing to pop it back in. I have to tell you I was damn tempted to leave it but since I wanted to be respectful to the national park and nature blah blah blah. After the 5th time in one day / my second day in Yosemite (I am not exaggerating and may even be under counting!) I finally just left the face of the speaker in my Fanny. Day 4(I.e. yesterday), my last day in Yosemite I’m on a trail that requires a bit more climbing up a clutter of rocks and boy was I struggling and focused. So much so in fact that I didn’t realize I was doing a lot of climbing in silence. Thinking my music must have paused or my playlist finished I look at my found to press play and I was surprised to hear my music coming from my phone instead of my speaker. My next thought is maybe the speaker turned off or died….when I looked down there was no speaker. At this point I had climbed and been trailing through shallow creeks and forest and it was getting dark. There was absolutely no way I was turning back especially since I had no idea how long ago I dropped it. I’d end up getting lost trying to find it and considering i didn’t even know if it rolled off the side of one the cliffs or hills or whatever, no thanks.I was planning on doing a customer service call about my issues once I got back from my Yosemite trip but now I’ve lost the speaker and have no serial number it’s kind of pointless.Overall:It sucks since there are so many things I liked about this JBL but idk if I just received a dud or it’s the JBL itself which I know people will go to bat for. I was never very rough with it and honestly never took advantage of the waterproof thing since the closest it would be would be at the edge of the water or dry on top of floater with me.I’ve bought the “cheap” speakers and have been satisfied with them but I liked the overall look, style, loved that damn clip, user friendly, Bluetooth connectivity, and loud crispness of the music. Since it only lasted me less than 6 months I’m not sure if that really is worth $50 bucks. I’m back to searching but overall it’s a great little adventure speaker just wish it didn’t fall apart so quickly

    Great little boom pebble

I had a Clip 2, but lost access to it after my wife claimed ownership. I finally upgraded to the Clip 3 to have my own again. Very much what I expected. Like the new clip design.

    Great speaker

This is my second time purchasing. Love this speaker and how it hooks easily onto everything from my backpack, belt loop, shower handle, golf bag etc. Sound quality is great for personal use (doesn’t get extremely loud) and easy to use and connect to pairing devices. Purchased a second one because the latch broke on the first (after years of use) and the light pink color got very dirty.

    Awesome

The loudness surprised me! A big sound from a small speaker! Good quality sound. It was easy to pair via Bluetooth to my phone. I like being able to hang it up with the carbiner clip, and take it with me around the house. I haven’t used it in the shower or gotten it wet, so I don’t know about that feature. I also got one for a friend, who replaced his big boombox with this at his construction site. The charge lasts hours (not days) when I play it for hours on end.
