    screen quality

dislikemonitor screen qa controls takes time to figure outdoesnt shut off when i shut down pci like sliders on all controls and qa controls dont have themmonitor actually was hazy when starting use ( actually became quite good after some time)likesno pixel damageseasy to assemblescreen quality exellentvery good monitor for the moneywould i buy it again no it is a good monitor for normal use but not so good for gaming and watching sporting games and online videos ( but of course im a perfectionist so to speak) maybe after a while ill get used to this monitor So take this or leave it its cheap enough to try it and if you dont like (probably will though) then you can toss it and get a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate monitor. they will cost you alot more this is an up date i am down grading this item because i cannot stop the flickering…. also in watching football replays the action is a little bit distorted. I think the problem with this monitor is sis the response times…. any way i dont recommend this monitor for anything other than word processing definately not for watching videos or games online havnt tried playing dvds but suspect dvd may be ok note i just tried this monitor with a dvd player and i could tell the response time is a bit off… im not gonna use this monitor i probably will give it to someone dont like returning thru amazon my sincere appraisal dont buy … spend the extra money there are some brands that are 2ms 144hz for 50 -70 $ more

So far its a fantastic monitor for the price

extremely affordable 1080p 27 inch. sure 4k is best but this still looks fantastic right out of the box. easy to put together, a few bells and whistles in the settings. color and brightness are basically spot on to start. may have to raise brightness from 85 to 100 and set color to HP Enhanced+ but thats it. Speakers are ok. dont get super loud but its a monitor its good to have them when 90% dont include speakers. Im OK with 60hz as im not using this as a gaming monitor. My one and only gripe is the dead screen space at the bezel. With such a thin frameless bezel, youd hope for that “infinity” display but the screen has dead “black” space right before the bezel. this adds 1/4 to 1/2 inch of border basically. but heres the thing…. this is on all monitors, especially at this price so its fine.it raises and lowers a bit on a floating hinge, it also tilts up and down slighty but not to the left or right. Its a tad wobbly if you touch it so dont put it on a wobbly desk.If it doesnt poop the bed soon after purchase then I highly recommend this inexpensive monitor

    Text not clear

The size of the screen and the adjustability of the stand are great. The clarity of small text isn’t the best, and I unfortunately missed the return window. Would get a different brand next time.

    Solid Monitors

Bought two of these. They work well. Easy to assemble. The bases are bigger than my old monitors and very solid. They tilt and can be lowered and raised, so you can really customize your setup. The only odd thing is that although I bought two identical monitors, one is about an inch higher than the other when they’re raised all the way.

    Poor documentation and packaging

I pulled this out of the box and set it up. I found the packaging to be cheaply done. Also the basic setup and layout was not good. The connections are on the bottom and not the back and after getting the base on I had to find a flat place to lay it down to see where my connections were.THEN, I could find the power switch. Turns our there is a round button on the back that LOOKed like power but is actually the settings button. I did not feel the button on the bottom right where I expected it to be. It was there but I missed it.So, in short I spent 15 minutes getting angry that it wouldn’t turn on.The instructions are a joke (as is expected these days). But there was not a word of English anywhere. And the graphic / image instructions say nothing about the power button or the brighness, contrast (settings) button on the back.Well, its on now and look good. But the ramp up which should have been an easy 5 minutes was much longer.

    It’s a Good Office Monitor

The picture quality isn’t very good at all, but the built in speakers are impressive for what they are. I can see the backlight showing through on the bottom corners of my screen, although they can be ignored when bright pictures are being displayed. It’s also worth mentioning that this screen looks very dull sometimes, and colors really don’t stand out very well. However, that can also be ignored after getting used to the experience. As for the speakers, they are in the back of the monitor. They have a great sound quality compared to what I thought they would be.Overall, the monitor would be fine for basic office work. The built in speakers aren’t much, yet they are clear and loud enough to understand perfectly. It will also keep your desk free of clutter to not require stand-alone speakers.

    Very Wide Screen

I didn’t realize how large 27 inches was until I started using this HP 27 inch monitor. I find it is almost too large for home use and wish I had gone with the smaller 24 inch I intended to buy. I bought this monitor solely because of the speakers that are built into the back. Few monitors offer that option (at least in my price range). I felt it was difficult for one person to put the stand together while trying to keep it all from falling apart. The way the stand attaches seems way more difficult then it need be..I almost sent it back but decided to keep it but I’m still not 100% sold on it.

    Good product and height adjustability

The screen has a good build. It’s slightly heavier than other ones, but also much more durable and has a height adjustable stand. The colours sometimes have a hues, but not too much of a problem. There is a small distortion of colour at a couple of places on the corners of the screen.

    It worked…for 18 months

Was doing great, then after a restart in Windows got the dreaded black border, and the screen shrank 1 – 1 1/2 inches on the edges. This is a permanent, manufacturer caused defect, and they are of no real help, and they refuse to admit the monitor is at fault. I have tried it with 3 PCs, same thing, and my laptop which I plugged into the screen every time I used it decided it was a TV and refused to talk to it. So, epic fail, I should have known there was a reason it was such a good deal. At least there’s only 1 left, so only 1 more person will have to gamble that it will fail in a matter of months.

    Too big for me

I got this monitor because it was on sale and less costly than the 24″. I thought that made this a bargain, but in my close space, with only about 20″ to my monitor, the 27″ is just too big. The picture is good, and the controls are fairly easy to use – once you find the small buttons on the bottom right. Just something to keep in mind if you have a small space.

I should have done more research. Not what I need.

Overall, this monitor is probably perfectly fine for casual office & business use, as well as basic home use, such as internet browsing, email, etc.Why the low rating then? I work in graphics, animation, and design. I’ll admit that my previous monitors were hardly top of the line, but their colors were always good enough to get the job done. When one of them failed suddenly, I wanted a new one quick and cheap, so I impulsively chose this one without doing enough research.I’ll start with the pros: The 27” size is really nice, quite a bit bigger than the Dell monitor that failed. (It’s sister is still working next to this one) I’ve actually liked using it for web browsing. It’s clear and easy to read on. The stand is pretty decent too, easily raised, lowered, and tilted… another solid upgrade from the old monitor. It has several input options… I’m using the displayport. It also has built in audio that seems to work right through the displayport connection. It did come with an audio cord, in case you connect with a method that doesn’t accept audio. The Cons: This is where the monitor falls apart for me. Everything is kind of light and desaturated… a hazy grey. There are color adjustments on the monitor, but even cranking the brightness and contrast had almost no effect. The color modes are too intense to be useful (Warm, cool, and other presets that drastically alter the color). I just need something with a better range of color. In the end, it’s my fault for being hasty and not doing enough research. I’ll use this monitor on another system where color isn’t as important, but it won’t be staying on my workstation.Final judgement: This is a solid monitor as long as accurate and deep colors aren’t important for your usage.

    Great for work!

This monitor arrived on time, and was well protected in the box! The hardest part of the set up was getting it out of the packaging- which is good, that’s why it was all intact! lol Truly lightweight, and it came with VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, and also a 3.5mm stereo audio cable. With all these options, it should work with ANY computer! The menu buttons are on the right side, on the bottom of the screen – a bit small and there are no markings on the front to differentiate what you are pressing, so you do have to look underneath to choose the correct button . You wont need a software CD or download link to set this up. As soon as I was all connected, my HP Elitebook found it and connected. The monitor was set to the correct resolution so I did not need to adjust this. Looks like this monitor supports audio over HDMI, so you can probably use it as a TV when connected to a streaming device or internet, but I have not tried that yet. I have been using this monitor for work for a few months and am very happy with it!

Love stand, good picture. Speaker volume and digital input controls are difficult to figure out.

The media could not be loaded.

The adjustable height and tilt stand are great, especially at this price point. My only beef was getting the audio to work – there was no menu item for it nor any buttons to control it. I couldn’t get the analog audio input working either. The manual, online HP manual, and Q&A are no help. I recorded a little video showing how to get it working and assigning a button to bring up the audio menu which allows volume control and audio input selection. For reference press far left button twice to bring up the menu. Scroll down to Menu and select. Move down to Assign Buttons. Select Assign Button 3 (or whichever you want) and change to Volume. Close menu. Now, if you double click the assigned button (button 3 is second from the left) it will bring up an Audio menu where you can select the input and control the volume.Too dang complicated but nevertheless it works.

Monitor no longer works after 18 months

When I first received the monitor, it was ok value for its 27″ screen. Resolution isn’t great and the lesser pixel density is noticeable on the 27″ monitor compared to the 24″ monitors I use. This was just for productivity and web browsing, so no big deal. Although searching on Amazon now I see there are monitors that are far less expensive 27″ monitors.18 months later the screen would go black. Unplugging and replugging the power cable would fix the issue temporarily before the screen would go black shortly after. The issue has apparently happened to other M27ha monitor owners from google searches I’ve made. The warranty was also expired since it only lasts 12 months. There are other monitors out there with better warranties, and/or others that are less expensive if you’re only looking at the bare basics of a 27″ 1920x1080p monitor.

It’s an okay budget monitor but nothing special

27 inches is a bit much for 1080p. I have 25″ HP 1080p monitors and they look good but this 27 inch monitor is kind of fuzzy looking. Just that little bit of a size difference makes a huge difference in picture quality. The speakers are nothing to brag about, my cell phone has better speakers built into it. I guess they’re good enough if you’re working in an office setting or are just watching tutorials.

    Broke after three months

The monitor was fine for about three months, after that the screen started going black, and needed to be turned off, and on to get the image back. After a while, the monitor screen went black, with no signal, and no power. Contacted HP customer service, someplace in India, and spent over two hours with the representative who told me to change cables, reset the monitor, connect to a different computer, and some more basic stuff. I keep telling him that the problem was that the monitor didn’t work period. The rep keep telling me that there was nothing he could do about the questioning because he had to follow protocol. After two hours of brainless suggestions, and some hard words on my part, he agreed to open a warranty claim. This was a stressful exercise in futility for no reason at all. This personal experience with HP customer service was frustrating, and one of the worse that I had experienced with other companies customer service, and I have had dealings with Comcast and AT&T which are pretty bad.

Great for work tasks in MS Office

The monitor looks a little thicker than I had imagined, but it feels solid. I liked that it came with the cover for the vesa mount bracket on the back of the monitor. I’m not mounting it, so it covers the screw holes nicely. I had no intention on using the speakers in this since most monitor speakers are terrible. I was pleasantly surprised when I tested it out. They actually sound great for meetings, I can hear everyone perfectly through it. The display itself had a nice slim bezel. It’s vertically adjustable which is nice for those of us who are using them as a second monitor with a laptop. For what I’m using it for I’m happy with it, especially given the price point. (~$135 when I bought it).

    High Quality Monitor

I love this monitor! I work from home and need high-quality and large monitor space. This replaced an older monitor and what used to be my best monitor (I work with dual screens) looks awful compared to this new one. I am going to purchase another one as soon as I have funding available. Having speakers on the monitors is kind of a secondary benefit, even though I do not use it that often.

    Exchanging defective product

I bought this monitor because my older HP monitor was not able to match my new laptop screen colors, etc. After some adjustments, this one got close enough for me to trust it with publishing images online. On day two I woke up my system from sleep mode and the screen was about 50% darker all over with the exception of a normal brightness circle just right and lower of the center. I ran a number of tests for computers, ports, cables, etc., and I was able to get it to repeat the issue more than once. It only happened waking from sleep mode. Turn the monitor offon, or reboot, and it was ok. But not worth paying for.I submitted a return request wanting to get a replacement, but amazon would not allow that. One of a few return rules is that you cannot do an exchange for the same item. So I took a refund. When I tried to purchase it again, the price had suddenly gone from about $165 to $230. I texted support on this and was told that it was a different 3rd party seller now and they “could not do anything about it”.I was told to take the monitor only (no cables or box) to a Kohl’s store in town. I was sent a QR code to show them. A slight inconvenience (as opposed to pickup at the house) but it was quick and easy. They scanned the code on my phone and took it.Lesson learned on ordering from amazon now – and I’ve been ordering since 1999. I ended up going to the Dell site. I found a monitor there that I liked. It was 1440 res, so a little more money, (about $300 total – with free shipping), but it’s nice and so far no issues. It also arrived days ahead of Dell’s estimate. Just a word to the wise on amazon’s return policy.

    Great value for the price

I was initially worried about getting a monitor for less than $200. But so far this is great. Simple buttons make it easy to use compared to the 27” monitor this replaced. The picture quality it fine but I just use it for work, no gaming. I can tell the slight difference in image crispness on my adjacent HP monitor that costs about $100 more, but I am satisfied with this cheaper one.

    Good Value for the Money

I’ll have my eye on this one, given a few of other reviewers comments about occasionaly blinking out after a few months use. But, so far, I’m fairly satisfied. It’s simple to set up. Shows good color. Is minimalistic. Great screen size. Feels durable. A slight wobble when touched or when the table is jogged, due to the sturdy but singular center post. A post which elevates BTW. A feature I’ve found particularly useful in the space I’m using it in.I can see the backlight bleed others have mentioned. It doesn’t seem too bad to me. I think if you’re a gamer who looks forward to playing a 1st person titles that are very dark, this bleed might interfere with your fun.Otherwise, 30 days in, this monitor seems like a good choice.HP have no specific drivers for this model, that I can see.

The user info that comes with this is laughable. So is HP Support. ( have an HP computer, and had an HP monitor that I liked, that died a few days ago. So I bought this monitor, another HP. I can’t get it set like I’d like (and it took me a long time to find the buttons to reset things — they’re on the BACK of the monitor, not on the bottom edge. My computer works fine, but the monitor isn’t properly communicating with it, apparently, and I can’t extract the files I downloaded re: the HP Display Center. Also, get that Display Center app you have to get from the Microsoft Store, and sign in to Microsoft. I have a MS account but I don’t like Microsoft and don’t like having to do that. Long story short, I’m sending this monitor back. It’s just not acting right and I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to figure out why.

Very good quality for regular home/office use. Good sound

I now have a setup with 2 of these monitors after buying one and finding the picture good for what I wanted.Let’s just say this: a static picture on these monitors is good. There are some artifacts and ghosting of fast moving images, which is expected from low price monitors. The black levels are good, could be better. I had to enable full range in the display drivers to get deeper blacks. The sound is surprisingly good for speakers placed in the back. No, it is not as good as front speakers, if you have a curtain behind the monitor the sound will get a bit muffled. If it had some holes in the front for mid/high frequencies it could have been 5 stars. I might end up attaching an old sound bar with some double tape. One thing I hate about the sound is the lack of controls. Yes you can adjust from the system/keyboard, but having buttons/knobs you can adjust on the monitor is pretty basic. You have to go into menu to adjust volume, even when customizing shortcuts it is 2 button presses before you can change volume. The brightness of the screen is very even. There is some bleeding of light on the edges with dark screens but it’s not too bad.One very good feature is the stand. It can be adjusted in all directions. This should basic on all monitors, but for some reason many manufacturers believe old books should still be put to use.Overall not a bad choice with a limited budget. You may also consider looking into 1440 resolutions at this screen size if your eyes are good – but for most this will be just fine.

    Great for office work loads

As the title says as a workstation this is everything you’ll need. For gaming though I would say there are far better options for $50-100 more. The colors are good, bezel is small and it comes with a decent stand. That said this monitor isn’t marketed for gaming so all and all I am very happy with it.

    Great monitor, but….

UPDATE: I have purchased four of these units for the office. I am now being told by AMZ that I can not purchase any more due to imposed limits. I have been waiting months (15 days plus two years) to be able to update our office with replacement monitors. Now that staff is coming back to work I have hit another roadblock. Now I have to find another model/brand. Good thing I didn’t promise more 27″ units to others. Very Disappointed.Original review:We have been purchasing the HP 24mh monitors as replacements around the office, and I came across these HP M27ha models which are essentially just a 27″ versions for the same price. The only downfall for both models is the lack of extra USB ports like you find on higher end units, but we can work around that. My folks are please with the extra real estate.

Buyer Beware Went blank after two months

This is an ok monitor but I would steer clear of it and order the newer model or another brand altogether. It worked fine (in warranty but to late for Amazon return policy). for about two months (nothing amazing but functional to plug in one’s laptop for a bigger screen) and then just went completely blank with no response to on off button or outlet changes. I went through all the steps to try to revive it and then spent 30 minutes with customer support going through various protocols. Nothing doing. The outcome was that I have to send back the monitor and then maybe they will send me a new one if they decide it really is a hardware problem. After 30 minutes with a. technician investigating the problem I would have thought they would just swap it out for a new one, but maybe I’m expecting too much.

Does not come with a display port cable

The product description says it will have a display port cable, but i did not receive it. I bought two monitors and both did not have the display port cable. The description is incorrect, if they did not intend to give the display port cable

Easy as pie to set up – looks sharp!

I got these because of the versatility, size and price. With ports for HDMI, Displayport, and RGB – it can handle both my work and personal laptops/docking stations. I like to make movies out of photos and video clips – picture quality is great! The bases are super easy to set up and are easy to remove for VESA plate setup on a monitor arm.Wish I had gotten these sooner!

Display Port does not work on these HP 27″ monitors

I purchased 4 of these monitors back in 2021 to mount on a 4 monitor tree for a new PC build. Initially I could not get any signal on the DP port of the monitors. Recently I upgraded the video card and tried again. I had to buy one more DP to HDMI cable because, again, the DP ports on these monitors does not work at all. Otherwise, these monitors are great!

    Perfect monitor

This is a really good and clear monitor. I ordered it to use at work to make all my stuff bigger than the ones they supply us. I am almost blind and can see so much clearer on this on. HP never gets it wrong with me!

Not particularly good quality display. I had to change my review after I used it for a while.

When next to my Dell display it’s not even close to the quality I am used to. And my Dell display is not the best one they make.
