1.First, connect your devices with this splitter cable Turn the signal source on next
2.Then turn the display on and wait till it works properly
3.Finally, turn the second display on and enjoy it.
4.you have to unplug one HDMI from this splitter to get a clear picture on the one you’re using, not simply power off one of them
if it doesn’t work, switch the slot you plug it into and if that doesn’t work, try plugging the second monitor in first, and then the first monitor in second.
Will only send video signals to two screens at the same time if the screens are the exact same size. resolution doesn’t matter both TVs can be 1080p but if one is a 43 inch and the other is a 55 in it won’t work, they have to be the same size.

Not the best but it works
I use this to run a second monitor from our projector at church. It does work but only for short distances. I have a 25 foot hdmi cable running from it to a TV and there is some static on the TV. Also, the signal will not work unless the TV is on and giving it some power. If the TV is off, then both signals are down. SO, the quality is not great. It would probably work if your were just using something really close, like two 6 ft hdmi cables. I would not purchase it again for my use case.

Does not support extended display
I’m sure the product is at least sufficient in what it was designed for, and if I needed duplicated display, this would have been perfect, but I need an extended display, and that’s not made clear it doesn’t support that until further down.

Does affect signal.
The directions do say there is a signal impact due to cable length. It was too much for me…don’t bother, get a powered splitter instead.

If you’re trying to get video passthru working on a PiKVM, look elsewhere.
It was cheap, and probably works well for it’s intended purpose. I was trying to get the HDMI port on an PNY Nvidia RTX 3050 to split to a 1080p 50HZ monitor (Asus VS247) and a PiKVMv4 Plus. Once I plugged in the PiKVM I lost video on the monitor and no amount of configuration and plugging and unplugging would allow things to work as I was hoping. I was specifically setting the computer/monitor to 50HZ to allow it work with the PiKVM. (1920×1080@50HZ is the max the PiKVM can support) Plugged in directly (no splitter) that mode works just fine between the computer and the monitor. Back to the drawing board.

It works with some fiddling, can definitely do better than this
It’s cheap and simple. If you have any issues with it, you need to plug in your hdmi’s one at a time and confirm the sound from your monitors before plugging in the second one.I would say you shouldn’t buy this, you can get significantly better powered splitters for the same price or a few dollars more.A powered splitter will avoid the issue you may have with a monitor not detecting a signal and powering down. This also doesn’t strip HDCP, so if you have a device that doesnt allow you to diasble it, a PS3 for example, it won’t work.I’m keeping it around as a backup and for streaming video from other devices, but honestly, don’t buy this.

Finicky
This thing is very tricky to use and may not always work. Note the instructions:”Connect your devices with this splitter cableTurn the signal source onTurn the first display on first and wait till it works properlyThen turn the second display on and enjoy it”So you have to be very careful what sequence you energize your devices in.Also note:”Note: ONLY 1 output device should be active at any time. UNLESS both TVs are of the same size, then both TV will show the images when connected.”That was the deal breaker for me. The TVs I wanted to use it with are not the same size – shame on me for not noticing this before I ordered!

Splitting an HDMI Satellite TV signal will trigger a HDCP error. Copy Right Protection Error
I’m not…100% NOT trying to record TV or movies. I’m only trying to duplicate the signal from my Direct TV satellite box to my tv in my garage (in other words….I want to watch the same thing that’s on TV in the living room and watch it in the garage). No need for a separate satellite box. This should allow me to duplicate the signal but it doesn’t.I keep getting the HDCP error. The HDMI cord going to the garage is only 20′ from the satellite box. I fixed the issue by buying a different HDMI splitter made by Orei. The amazon ASIN for this one is B00F5R9TNM.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F5R9TNM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_detailsPLEASE NOTE…if you are using this splitter for a computer monitor and want to mirror images then you probably will be able to do so successfully. I don’t think computer monitors care about HDCP yet.

Not what I was expecting
I bought this for my pc thinking I would be able to extend my displays because I always use two monitors, but my PC only has one HDMI port. Found out this thing only duplicates the displays. Personally I don’t know why anyone would need this except for some niche areas, but even so the cord is so short that if you wanted two duplicated screens far away from one another or something you’d have to get a special long cable anyway. So it works (ish) but it’s not what I had been expecting.

No good for 55” tv display and streaming games
I still have stars on this because it works just bare minimum. There either is a connection issue with just mine or all. Had to troubleshoot a lot finally reread description since there was no instructions but this does not work correctly on two displays if they are DIFFERENT SIZES. The connection seems shaky and disconnects flickers at a time. When it does show, the resolution on my main gaming screen is now horrible even as the only input. Pixelated green dots appearing on screen as I have pictured but the picture does not do it justice. 55” 4K tv monitor turned into a 40” blurry mess. It did send display to my laptop which is also somehow blurry. Was going to use this for streaming but back to the drawing board.

It works but not what I expected
It does its job by duplicating the monitor images as I wanted BUT because I don’t have the same sized monitors the 2nd screen AND 3rd screen shrinks the image from the main source. I wanted to try to connect my monitor and display drawing tablet at my laptop at the same time but it doesn’t work :(I’ll give it about 3 stars for trying its best

worked okay, for a while
i use this adapter to have my second monitor plugged in the same time as my drawing tablet. originally the only issue i had with this was when i finished drawing on my tablet and turned it off via the power button on the tablet, somehow it would also disconnect the connection of my monitor and the only way to fix the connection was removing the adapter entirely and plugging in the monitor to the tower directly. recently I’ve started having entirely new issues with it that’s making it entirely unusable. my brand new sceptre monitor started glitching. i did some googling and found nothing about this specific glitch online, i assumed i couldn’t do anything about it and since it wasn’t that severe i left it be for the night. the next morning the glitching had gotten worse and now the screen was flickering on and off completely, making it completely unusable. while trying to fix it i removed the adapter once again and lo and behold, not only did the flickering stop, but now all signs of glitches are gone.I’m throwing this piece of crap away, i have no idea what sort of damage this cord could have done to my monitor long term and im not going to stick around and find out.

Yes it does work despite the 1 star reviews.
For the love of everything people… troubleshooting is a dying skill and we are doomed. All these 1 star reviews of, “I plugged it in and it didn’t work” are not wrong, but did you try 1 screen at a time? Bet ya didn’t.So here’s the thing. You have to plug it into your PC/Laptop/whatever your outbound is. Then plug 1 screen in and make sure you know how to configure your desktop to mirror the image, then plug in the second screen. P.S. you might hava to try this step twice. It’s because of this extra step, I did take a star off, but the thing does work if you are smarter than it.

Only for duplicating two screens
This is only for duplicating two screens. I tried to connect two monitors to a laptop, for use of the extended monitor, but it was not such a device. I found that it only splits one input signal into two of the same output signals. And also inserting the HDMI port is a little bit stiff. it was hard to plug or unplug the port.

Works great but has one major disadvantage
This splitter does what is advertised– split one HDMI signal into two HDMI signals. I have used these before to drive projectors without issue. But there is something important that this splitter does not do, and that is pass EDID information back to the source. If the source is a computer, it does not see any evidence anything is connected to the video out port. In some cases (Windows 10 is one) it shuts the port off. So, you have to boot the computer with one of the monitors directly connected and then install the splitter. This is not practical for everyday operation, so we ended up using an active (requires power) spliitter, which solved the problem. I suspect if you have just one monitor port on the computer, it will work properly, as one video output always needs to be on.

Technically works as intended, but output is inconsistent and buggy
The media could not be loaded.
Firstly, the purpose of this cable is to split one input (e.g. a game console) and duplicate to two outputs (e.g. a TV and a capture card, or two monitors). It technically serves this basic function. It won’t be able to turn 1 HDMI port on your TV into multiple ones, for that purpose you would be better off buying an HDMI switch (you still can’t put multiple signals into one HDMI port; it’s like trying to put multiple hotdogs into one bun, instead a splitter would just be like switching out the hotdog you’re using with a single button press). There are some other reasons why this thing is deserving of a poor review; when I had both the outputs plugged in (TV and capture card) and then plugged into a console (a Nintendo Switch), it registered on the TV as 1024×768 DVI (not 1080p), with having no audio. With only having one thing plugged into it beforehand (the TV), and then plugging it into the console, and THEN plugging in the capture card connection, then it properly outputted 1920×1080 HDMI with audio; however, as soon as I plugged in the capture card’s cable there was some artifacting (e.g. random multicolored pixels on some edges) on the TV output. This goes away as soon as I unplug the other split output again. That other output is not consistent either, it sometimes flickers between working and no signal (color test bars).Basically this thing technically “works” but is actually kinda rubbish. The attached photos/videos show an example of the artifacting, then a resolution comparison (the “!” is supposed to be one pixel wide), and then the flickering of output.

Hidden Details?!
In the bold headline AD it says, “…supports 2 TVs at the same time” and then, if you scroll a couple of pages down and embedded in the long description, is this statement “Note:ONLY 1 output device should be active at any time. UNLESS both TVs are of the same size”. AND THEN in the instructions that come with the device, it says quote: “In reality, you have to unplug one HDMI from the splitter to get a clearer picture on the one you’re using, not simply power off one of them.” Well, what kind of useful purpose does that serve?! That’s what I’m trying to avoid doing in the first place – not having to unplug one device in order to plug another device in. You may as well have a brick with two HDMI cords taped to it. Then take turns plugging and unplugging, depending on which TV you want to use. Having to unplug one HDMI from the splitter to get a clear picture and not just powering off the device should be a very notable fact to list clearly near the top of the ad. I try to make a habit to read thoroughly read the description/details before I order a product. But after you go through 4 or 5 products, trying to compare them, you don’t always scroll down through multiple pages of photos, etc. and may miss one sentence. I’m certainly not trying to nitpick— but the ad headline states supports 2 TVs at the same time. Why not simply add in parentheses afterwards (BOTH must be the same size) OR simply remove the words “Supports 2 TVs at the same time). The product instructions enclosed in the package was honest when it said “In reality, you have to unplug one HDMI from the splitter to get a clear picture on the one you’re using…”. Wish I had known that ahead of time.

Not what you’re looking for.
This product is more of a switch then a splitter. Can only be used if 1 tv is powered off and I believe in the fine print it says must be same model and size tv. Upon more research I found that basically if the splitter does not come with its own power supply, it will not split the feed to play simultaneously. I was trying to run cable to one TV while splitting that line and having the other one go into my Xbox. This way since there are 2 tvs in the room, someone would be able to watch TV while someone else plays Xbox. And then when the person playing xbox is done they could turn off the alternate TV and watch cable through the larger TV that the xbox is hooked up to. Did not work, and I found out that because it did not have its own power supply it would not be able to run the cable to either of the televisions if they were both on. Especially since this splitter also states somewhere lost in all of the mumbo jumbo that the monitor must be same size and model. If you’re planning on doing a large split room to room, and plan on turning the TV off in one room then going to another and turning it off in there, then this might work for you. You’d be better off buying a switch though because even if you power one off and one on it will give you a hassle if they are not the same size and model. As in blue screens, black and white picture, no sound. To fix this you will have to unplug everything; HDMIs to the splitter, HDMIs to the tvs, power to the cable box, power to the TVs, etc. Then let it sit and basically recalibrate and reset itself to figure out its going to a different type of tv. At that point you might as well just get a 100ft HDMI and walk it from room to room. Hope this helps.

DOES NOT WORK RIGHT for computer => monitor and TV
This will probably work fine for a single output to two TVs. It does not work right for using a computer to connect to a monitor for PC use and a TV for streaming. The reason is that this splitter just has one input and two outputs, but no power connection and no EDID information going back to the source. So it will display your computer screen, but because the computer can’t see what it’s driving, you will get either no output or about a 640×480 resolution on your monitor. If you are outputting to a monitor and a TV, you need to get a splitter that also includes a power source for 2-way communication. I ended up getting this one from Amazon, and it works great: amazon.com/dp/B0732MD43P

Signal Drops Out
Bought this (HDMI Splitter Cables Male 1080P to Dual HDMI Female 1 to 2 Way HDMI Splitter Adapter Cable for HDTV HD, LED, LCD, TV, Support Two TVs at The Same Time from the Sorthol Store) for about 8 bucks to connect my PC laptop to two tv sets in different rooms. It does not plug and play immediately, I have to disconnect the cables from the splitter and the laptop multiple times before it finally seems to work. Though sometimes the audio does not work and worse of all, the signal drops out to a black screen for about a second every few minutes. Very disappointed.

My own fault, I guess? I bought the wrong product? This splitter does not mirror. You cannot view BOTH screens at the same time. This splitter will only send the signal to one TV, or the other…will not send to both.
