DIRTY PHONE
Description said like new. But once I received the phone it was really dirty and had to spend time cleaning it. Shipping was not too bad, it was just disgusting with all the gunk it had. Overall been a good phone.

Refurb saves $ & I love pixel 4a
When my pixel 4a died after i dropped it in water i considered upgrading but i love this little phone… It is light, fits on all my pockets, has a great camera… And i could have all of that again without paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Yay!

Battery life not great.
Noticeable dent on the bottom left, power button is a bit iffy, needs to be charged twice a day. Accubattery says the battery health is at 80%. The battery really should have been changed, it’s currently my main issue with the phone.

Renewed Seller Lacking Quality Control
I think most people can agree that the Pixel 4a is a decent phone. My beef is with this particular seller, “bayshine Trading,” listing the device condition as “New” and then sending phones that have noticeable, sometimes major, flaws in their hardware. The first one I received, in the “barely blue” color, had a large dead-zone in the touchscreen, making the phone very difficult to use, bordering on unusable. After returning that device and ordering another one, the new device, in the “just black” color, had no obvious flaws, other than a large build-up of what appeared to be dust in the front-facing camera. This turned out to significantly degrade the quality of selfies and severely inhibit applications that rely on it.With that said, the phone is largely usable, and $150 for a Pixel 4a is still quite good value-wise. I’m not sure if it’s worth the hassle to return it at this point, given that I went ahead and activated it before noticing the issue with the front-facing camera, but I can certainly say I wish I’d gone with a different seller and avoided this mess to begin with.

Very clean and works fine for a used phone. I wish it could charge wirelessly but I should have looked closer at pixel 4a specs.

Exactly what I expected… MINUS THE BACK BUTTON!!!
I sure miss the back button. I’ve been using the back button since it was a real button, back in V1.3 I’m sure eventually I’ll get used to swiping left, but at almost a month in, I still find myself hitting the imaginary back button that’s not there anymore. Why did they take away my back button? Was it really taking up that much space? Change should add value. It should never just be, change for change’s sake! Did I mention I miss my back button? Maybe they could make the back button an option in a future update… I can only hope.

Pretty simple, the phone was in good condition as shown. Obviously since you are reading this review you are smarter than anyone buying an Iphone. Apples are for eating, when you try to use them as devices they rot.

Great Phone, Charger that comes with is NOT as advertised – 20% slower
The charger that came with this renewed phone is NOT as advertised. It is 14.4 Watt instead of 18 Watt (which means your phone will charge 20% slower than it is supposed to unless you buy a 3rd party charger). Seller won’t send the charger they advertised or discount the amount such a charger costs – poor service and false advertising. I will be leaving seller feedback for that.Despite the above, the Phone is fantastic. Battery life and screen great. Fingerprint scanner is snappy. No stuttering – google assistant call screening is amazing. Aside from the packaging, I couldn’t tell it wasn’t new.

exactly as described
The only “defect” I could find was a light scuff mark on the screen. It was so light I didn’t even notice it until I cleaned it off and looked at it under good light to put my screen protector on. I think the oil from my hand was enough to hide the scuff mark. Can’t see it with the screen protector on. Phone runs great. Battery works well.

The good, most things work on this unit. The bad, the front facing camera does not work, nor does the flashlight. Unsure why, says camera is in use for some reason. Checked all settings available, nothing worked. I’m still gonna use it, but kinda sucks the camera was bunk.

Phone was advertised “Like New”
For those times when I don’t want to lug around one of my larger high-end phones I like to have a compact phone to use and I have missed my 4a since I traded so I bought this one on Amazon.I keep all of my phones pristine even the ones that are several years old so when I saw the Pixel 4a advertised as “Like New” I couldn’t resist. It arrived today and it definitely doesn’t look Like New as shown in the pictures. The back of the phone is covered with scratches and there is also a scrape on the top speaker grill so there is a silver scrape going through the black paint and there is also a dent in the trim next to the power button at the edge of the screen.I am in the process of setting it up now and will update my review later if I decide to keep it. If you are expecting a Like New phone, this is probably not the place to buy it especially at this price.

Second “Renewed” Phone, both great
Phone was, in excellent condition and updated to the latest OS which saved a bunch of time. No marks, battery appears fine, and everything works. Could not be happier. As stated, it did not come with the 18W Power Delivery charger (had a cheap Samsung type) or the audio and transfer cables. No big deal since I already have all that stuff. This was cheaper than a new battery in the phone I am replacing.

I seriously love this phone. Best budget phone Ive ever had.
I’ve purchased 3 of these phones now. (The screen broke twice, due to faulty case protectors…I’ve since remedied that situation.) Every time I need a new phone and look into other brands/styles/ gen’s, I keep coming back to this phone. It has great battery life, takes outstanding pictures even at night, is a good size, and is just a really reliable google product. I hope I can keep buying these because you just cannot beat the price AND the quality.

Very dependable! Much nicer than my last phone, and not even close to the same price. For a budget, its the best phone. Is unlocked. Took me 10 minutes to transfer my old phone to the new one. Amazing quality photos, video & audio. Amazing features that are so helpful, like custom call screening, transcribing important calls, which is so helpful. Love, love, love this phone!!!

Faulty phone shipped as renewed: broken battery connector
The phone powered on nicely, and setup went smoothly, but it was immediately downhill from there.Once set up, the battery icon went to a [?] which in these, indicates a faulty connector that will need replacing. For something listed as “excellent” this is a massive oversight, and the phone is unusable as is

Wasn’t Really Unlocked
The OEM Unlocking feature was greyed out on the one I ordered for my husband. So, we have to send it back. Otherwise, the phone is clean and looks like new! If you don’t need the OEM Unlocking feature turned on (to unlock the bootloader) you should have no issues with this phone. However, I don’t like when I’m told something is unlocked and you find that it’s not necessarily true.

Quick Switch Adapter not included!
The phone is OK but this seller chose to not include the Quick Switch Adapter that makes transfer of data from old phone to new phone easy. New Pixel phones all include this small item. I would have happily paid more to have this included & avoided some hours of problems & anxiety moving into my new phone.

Refurb not perfect, Bluetooth saves it
OK. This is a refurb phone. Pixel 4a. I paid less for it but the headphone jack doesn’t work and the operating system is sluggish. I am using Google Fi as my cell phone provider at $20 per month (so new to it that my 1st bill isn’t due yet) and it has dropped ONE call over 22 min while driving so far. Short 10 min calls are fine. I think I should have bought a brand new Pixel 3 after this experience. I bought a Bluetooth headset to bypass the headphone jack. This has better coverage than my former T-Mobile so I will deal with these 1st world problems rather than send it back.

Great value for the price. Works well.
This phone was purchased as a replacement for my 4 year old Samsung Galaxy. It took a bit of getting used to in terms of the gestures and interface it uses, but I’ve had no problems with it and the battery life is miles ahead of what I had before. I can literally go more than a day without needing to put it on the charger.

Looks Amazing and New
I got this phone because my old pixel 3a cracked after a good three years use. After opening the shipping box I will admit that there was no cushioning to protect the phone, however mine managed to get into my mailbox just fine without the phone being damaged. I use cricket and was previously already on a plan when I had my pixel 3a, I popped the sim card into this phone and was able to keep all my old numbers and photos. Definitely worth the buy. I love it.

I have the nicest phone out of anyone in my family now.
I’ve had this phone for over 6 months now and I have relatively zero complaints. My family has always run on Moto (Motorola) phones but I when my three year old G5 started giving out on me, I decided to buy my next phone with my own money so I could get exactly what I want.My parents initially scoffed at my $400 phone (they’ve never spent more than $160 on a smartphone) but over the past year I’ve seen them grow more and more jealous. I’m the first to get every android update, sometimes months ahead of other phones. The camera is great, and I will never run out of storage. I’d like it if the battery lasted a little longer, but it’s better than my last phone and I’m not to upset about it.I was anxious about getting a refurbished phone, but it was in perfect condition when I got it. I never would have been able to tell that it had been used before.

Odd smell from package and phone
My refurbished phone arrived in the original box, tape shut again, with a usb-c cable and wall charger along with the device. It had warranty information as well as some of the origninal documentation as well. The phone booted up no problem, activated with my SIM card, the cameras work (front and back) and the microphone and speakers both work, and it takes a charge. In terms of the device working out of the box everything looks good. However I’m a little concerned that my phone and the provided accessories had a heavy mildew smell to them, almost like a water container that’s been left out for too long. The phone was pungent enough that I could smell the swampy smell from a couple of feet away while setting the device up. I’m hoping that this dissipates over time and also does not indicate water damage to a returned device that might be an issue down the line.

Paid for excellent refurbished Pixel 4a, got a badly used one.
Google Pixel 4aFROM THE ADVERTISEMENT IN AMAZON:The product is refurbished, fully functional, and in excellent condition. Backed by the 90-day Amazon Renewed Guarantee.- This pre-owned product has been professionally inspected, tested and cleaned by Amazon qualified vendors.- This product is in “Excellent condition”. The screen and body show no signs of cosmetic damage visible from 12 inches away. What’s in the box:18W USB-C® power adapter 1 m USB-C to USB-C cable (USB 2.0) Quick Start Guide Quick Switch Adapter SIM toolUnlocked Android phoneIN REALITY:Dirty, back plate looks like it has been used to sand a concrete floor. Its over all cosmetic condition is quite poor. I paid extra and picked the “excellent condition/refurbished” version of the three available tiers. There is nothing the seller could have refurbish, as the phone is glued shut, but I did expect at least a nice looking one, with the promised type of charged, cable, SIM tool and UNLOCKED! The phone is carrier unlocked only, not OEM unlocked, so I can not install a custom ROM.It’s a Christmas present, so returning is a not a good option time wise. I’ll put it in a nice Otterbox case, but not happy at all.Took two new photos 75 days out of 90 days warranty for the “excellent” refurbished phone, when returning it. Two sides of the screen open 5 mm (1/5″). The cell was only kept together by the phone case.UPDATE 4-17-23:Phone returned to the seller 5 weeks ago, but they did not mark it as received for Amazon. Had to contact Amazon customer service to get the refund. Luckily UPS had provided me their record of delivery. REALLY avoid the seller thegadgetdeals

Like new, works great
I was surprised that the phone really was in “like new” condition. I didn’t notice any defects. It worked perfectly. It came with Android 13, but not the latest updates. I spent the time applying the updates.I have not installed a SIM card, so I cannot say that it works with a wireless network. For local (wifi) use, it seems to be perfect.FYI: The included (generic) charger puts out 2100mA.

I’ve been using a Pixel 4a for a couple of years, and wanted one to play with. Got this one and installed Android13, then transferred to the new device. The only way I can tell it was used is the SIM holder pinhole is broken, and in a case that difference disappears.Battery holds a good charge. Display is bright with no fading or distortion. WiFi, Bluetooth, and sound – no problems.I’d buy from them again. DW wants a new phone, so…

The battery does not charge in time read :
I do No gaming , I’m rarely on social media. I had made only two -(Not over 2 minute videos). The battery never lasted only about half of a day. The screen time displayed to charge the battery until full never worked right comparing it to my actual home clock. It was a refurbished phone . The phone doesn’t come with a user manual I saw a few things on information on the phone itself and I watched YouTube videos on tips & tricks on the phone so I figured out a few things about the Google Pixel 4 A phone so it is a mixed bag of “good & bad” for me I keep it charged but for anyone not being near a charging area or port it may NOT be a good phone to buy this phone.

pretty good
I love the phone it self. I bought it to replace my previous pixel 4a that broke. I had to dock a start because the phone had a slight bend in it. It’s fine, I don’t expect it to affect anything, but It makes me wonder what this phone went through since my previous phone went through a lot and doesn’t have a bend, despite constantly sitting on it. (back pocket carry) The battery in my testing is also only at 76% of original and they claim “at least” 80 percent of original. I’m not sure if they’re going off rated capacity or measured capacity, but that is below their claim although not significantly. Other than those two things, it seems good. No scratches, screen is clean and bright, everything works. Overall I’m happy

UPDATING to (3) – see below ZERO Rating – buyer beware
Update to below review -I’m updating the rating to 3 star: although the seller doesnt work weekends – they did reach back on Sunday through an Amazon email**NOTE Amazon sends you all kinds of emails in your regular email but of course they dont send you important one’s like a seller response – so you have to login into AMAzon to find if/when a seller responds (this is a DING against amazon).Getting back to the seller who i ended up speaking in person over the phone – she immediately sent me a shipping postage receipt to send back the default phone and has indicated once rec’d she will expedite the shipment of the replacement phone.. I voiced to her my concern if this replacement phone does the same thing even 6 months down the road and it sounds that she will back me up.I understand that i bought a renewed electronic (ive had them before- w/o major issues) and sometimes things may go awry, so for the customer service from the customer end i’m currently updating rating to a 3. I will update review again based on the phone replacement but I will wait a few months to do so.Original review below__________________________I was LOVING this phone (great memory, battery life, light to hold, small, good sppeds, good pics) then LESS THEN 30 days of its purchase it STOPPED TURNING ON.. tried to reset.. its weekend and cant get a hold of seller (which is ludicrous), there is no damage to the phone .. So i have reached out to the seller through Amazon and will see what happens.. I will update this review based upon the response.. so far being i have to wait 2 days for something like a cell phone.. which we is used daily and for business the 2 day wait for customer service on this is unacceptable.. I had good hopes and was optimistic at first but now I’m thinking i should have listened to the pessimistic side that you cant trust 3rd party sellershere’s my msg sent thru amazon to the sellerI rec’d my pixel 4a 1/29/22.. today 2/26/22 it stopped turning on, there is no damage to the phone. I’ve tried taking out sim card, putting on charger nothing is working. I’m pretty upset that this is happening this was not a cheap purchase.. and now i’m very leary of your company . I need this fixed_replaced ASAP. I’m willing to get a replacement ASAP but if this happens with the replacement I’m definitely asking for a refund even if it stops working 6 months out.. There is absolutely no reason why this should be happening on top of that being its Saturday no one at electronic wireless is answering the phone.. it says to send an email but no email address is given super upset. I need to be contacted asap and this situation needs to be addressed ASAP with a replacement sent out and expedited

Seems to work very well!
Purchased this used/renewed because it’s one of the last Google Pixel phones with a microphone input. I also like that it’s a little smaller than the 3a that I used to use (which always felt a tad too big in my hands). The only downside was that because this was a used/renewed phone, the battery life was noticeably worse than my previous 3a (which is an older phone!). Oh well. I can always take it in and get a battery replacement sometime.

I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of an Amazon reconditioned phone!
I needed an update to my Pixel 3 phone. I tried a reconditioned Pixel 6a – good grief! HUGE, Heavy, too big for pockets – NOPE! So I returned that one after I got this Pixel 4a – It does not have 5G – I won’t have it in my rural area until the phone providers in town quit laughing. We have a gas station – finally with gas again – and one stop light – we are lucky to get oxygen – we do have a $General. So a 4G phone works fine and this one seems to work better than the old Pixel 3 – I can actually make phone calls on the 4a from home! Before I could only text. The Pixel phones have been taking superb pictures for a long time – I got night shots 5 years ago! So that has stayed good. The 4a is a perfect size – it is not too heavy, it doesn’t make my shorts fall down when it’s in my pocket, and the fingerprint recognition on the back of the phone works perfectly! I could not get the fingerprint thing to work on the Pixel 6 and hated the glass screen.I just love that this reconditioned phone turned out so great! Maybe Pixel will get the idea that they don’t need to make a heavy brick of a phone like the 1990s. Keep it light! I am very happy with this purchase!

All that I hoped for.
I have had a Pixel 4a for 3 or 4 years and am very happy with it. But I wanted another sans sim to use via WiFi in my car when I don’t have my regular phone with me. Hence this one. It arrived with charger and cable and looks like in new condition. It is indeed unlocked. On startup, it said that it was in the Android beta program and the developer mode was active. I turned that off. Then I installed all my apps and set it up to exactly shadow my main phone. Battery life is excellent. I charged both phones to 100%, then left them on. The next day my main phone battery charge was less than this one. So, very happy with the battery and condition of the phone. Works perfectly. Not locked to any cell provider. Worked out really great for me.

Compact budget phone
I bought the refurbished Pixel 4a back around December 2020. It was about $35 less than brand new price. I heard alot of good reviews as it being a great budget compact Android phone, the Apple competition was an IPhone SE 2020, but that was $150 more and less storage space. Right out of the box I noticed there were noticeable scratches along the bottom rear of the phone. It was probably only cosmetic damages and nothing to affect the performance, but being the OCD I am, I decided to return it and get a brand new one from a carrier since they were doing a $100 off promo.I’ve had the phone for about 8 months now and it’s been a great phone, I have no problems. However, if I was going to get nit-picky, I’d say the phone has 1-2 second delays/hiccups occasionally. I’ve learned to live with it, this is not a top of the line phone. I don’t play games on this phone so I can’t say in the graphics hardware department, but YouTube has been great. The battery life feels a bit lackluster as under moderate to heavy usage I have to recharge the phone at least twice a day, but this is understandable for a small compact size and price. Overall I think it’s a good phone for the pricePros:Great Price for what you getAmazing photos, amazing colors, and it has night photosCompact size!! Alot of phones recently are getting larger than 6inches+. I wanted something small I can leave in my pockets and not feel bulky all dayCons:Occasional lags, it’s Very Very minor, but it’s still thereFinger print reader requires a few triesMediocre battery life

Great phone at a great price!
Google phones have and still are serving me well. The 4a, while not the latest and greatest, does a fabulous job and its size is a plus, fits in my back pocket no problem and its light weight. Mind you I am very simplistic, no face recognition or fingerprint reading for me, just a basic smart phone doing its job. This refurbished phone has been working without issues now for months.

Great phone
The item arrived as advertised and was in like new condition. Very pleased. The charger is pretty rudimentary and the cable had a bad connection on one end. This was nothing to be too upset about as most of us have several chargers and cables. Just be warned that you may have trouble with these items. I bought an add on wireless charger to put on the phone as the 4a doesn’t support wireless charging so it was not an issue.

Might as well be new
Had a pixel 4 that lasted me a long time and was an exceptional phone. Unfortunately due to the nature of my work, the type c port crapped out eventually due to grinding grit getting compacted in it and repeated cleaning. Picked up this renewed 4a since it was dirt cheap compared to new flagships and I liked the pixel 4 so much. It has more storage than the 4,128gb vs 64gb, which is cool, only downside is no wireless charging which I became used to with the damaged port on my old phone. Other than that, seems pretty much the same from a practical standpoint. Dimensions are quite similar, maybe a few mm shorter. Has a fingerprint scanner on the back, which is kinda neat. Came in perfect condition, no visible wear whatsoever. And nothing like a new battery with larger capacity. Amazon renewed store is becoming my go-to for cheap electronics lately.

This refurb advertised “80%+” of OEM battery life, NOT SO!
The condition was good.. few scratches & only a little grime to clean out of the small spaces. The main issue was the unit we were replacing was the exact same model, Pixel 4a, that we bought new ~3 yrs ago. That original unit (up until it recently broke) would last 2-3 days on a single charge with average use. With the refurb phone, the battery life is maybe half what the OEM battery was. Charge to 100% & about 20 minutes later you are down below 70%, & max life of the battery is about 30 hours with normal settings & use.I’m not returning it because its too much of a hassle. The refurb unit works Ok & I may attempt a new battery swap at some point. Still, rather disappointing, & I’m not likely to buy from this vendor (or from amazon refurbs in general) again.

Battery life
I’ve only had this phone for a couple days. I got it used but it said it was new. It’s probably a little early to write a review and I typically wait some time before writing reviews so that I get a full feel for the quality. The battery life on this phone is atrocious. It was fully charged when I went to bed. When I woke up, it was at 96%. I started actually using it – the battery life went down so fast it was as if it were running away from something (from 96% to 74% in less than an hour with light usage)I put it on the charger. This is not a fast charge cable or a Google cable which historically charges pixels faster than other cables. This is just a run of the mill 10′ data/charge cable and typically takes some time to get things charged. It’s been plugged in for about a half hour and it’s gained 20%What all of that tells me it’s that it has a very small battery. I suggest getting a power bank along with this. Aside from the battery though, the phone is fine, average really. Not really excellent but not terrible.

phone
I would have liked a set of instructions with the product as I have never used a smart phone in my life.
