    Incredible machine!

My wife told me not to buy this because she thought it wouldn’t make enough ice for us. Boy was she wrong. We replaced our water heater with a tankless so I placed this ice machine under the new water heater that hangs on the wall. That way we always have water for it and it has a drain. Because the bin isn’t a freezer it won’t hold ice forever but I knew that going into it so I bought 10lb bags for the ice and store them in my deep freeze. When I turn the unit on around 5:00 or 6:00 in the evening, before I go to bed around 11:00 there’s enough ice to fill up two 10lb bags. I usually turn the ice maker on either thursday or friday, let it make 4-5 bags of ice then shut it down for the rest of the week.I bought it at the beginning of boating season and it has worked perfectly so far (it’s now August).

Worked for 2 years almost to the day…… to fix over $1000

This unit was great until it stopped working. Ice was great, just an awesome machine……. until the cooling system developed a leak. Compressor can be found but no direct replacements for the evaporator core. This machine was never moved once it was put in place in our basement.Euhomy customer service worked with me to provide a partial refund on a replacement unit. I also made sure to buy the extended warranty through Amazon. As noted – the original unit worked great until it failed. Hopefully the failure at 2 years was an outlier – but making sure to hedge my bet with the extended insurance.

    Ice Bath, Anyone?

My husband needed an ice machine for his weekly ice bath rituals. Our measly fridge icemaker proved no match for his arctic plunges. He really did not want to have to buy four bags of ice three times a week so he started looking at his options. This little icemaker came up in his amazon research and it has been a great little trooper. It takes up very little space and this little guy was cranking out ice like crazy once it was set up. He has plenty of ice for his weekly baths and the quality is great. No complaints here!

    Great ice maker

Set up for my guys to use on a daily basis and love that we have a bunch of nice clear ice daily, should recuperate my investment in a few months with all the money I’m saving from not having to buy ice bags daily. Great output and runs real silent ..

Purchased From Amazon on April 5th 2021

Everything was great till it wasn’t. Purchase just over 2 years ago (April 5th 2021) and now itwill not make Ice. We have done everything the Manual has asked. The Manual says that theFreon may be low, however I cant find a tap that would allow us to ADD. The cost of $400.00is high enough but to last only 2 years. I would look at another brand.Update: Willow with “Euhomy” in customer service could not fix the Machine but was great to workwith, wish I had contacted her right away. from 3-4 stars because of service

    Ice 🧊 Ice🧊, Maybe?

We use this machine to make bags of ice for our small campground. It works well and keeps making ice until it fills up the ice reservoir. The reservoir holds enough for two 10lb. bags of ice. It’s not a super fast ice maker, but it does a good job. Great for smaller applications or home use. The reservoir does keep the ice cold for awhile, but it’s not refrigerated, so plan on hours of cold ice, not days. Hoping for extended use, and that this will last for years. We shall see. Maybe?

So far so good. Great Ice maker

Makes a ton of ice quickly and keeps ice cold.Very happy so far. Had plumber look up and connect including drain line. Does put off some heat when running as we have in small laundry room and notice significant temperature increase in room. Great value

    Not bad…so far

Pretty easy install, really, even with an in-line filter. Makes tons of ice pretty quick but, the adjustment for (thinner/thicker) ice (or whatever it’s called)?? Not happening. Has a little “dimple” on the end of the cube no matter the setting. No biggie. The worst part? This thing is LOUD!! Scares the cats every time they walk by. They’ll get used to it. Just be ready for a “loud, new noise” in the house. It’s been installed for 4 days. No issues yet. I did elevate the unit to install a condensate pump to remove the melting to the washer drain. I don’t have a floor drain. Seems to be working well so far.Update – So, here we are. 4 months later. I have to say, this machine puts the ice out. No. It’s not a freezer and the ice melts. Put the hose in a floor drain or get a pump and drain it elsewhere. Now, the infamous “E2” code. Yes. I get the code every now and then. My experience is, ice doesn’t “eject” because of the amount of ice in the bin and “hangs up” the flipper thing. Or, the flipper thing needs a manual tap a time or 2. Either way, I clear the ice that didn’t fall properly or tap the flipper, turn the unit off and wait 5-10 seconds and turn it back on. Works just fine and I don’t have to call Customer Service. IMO?? It’s a keeper.

Still running strong after 2 months.

So far so good. Not a single problem with the machine. I’ve tested the ice and there’s no lead or any other type of contamination. It’s a little noisy when the compressor’s running. It’s not a problem for me because the ice makers in a utility room but it could be an issue for some people. I might get tired of hearing humming noise if it were in my kitchen. All in all it’s been a good ice maker. I’ll update this review if we have any problems within the first couple years.

    It’s the Real Deal.

I read all the reviews before purchasing. It’s the real deal. Yes the ice does drop in large squares but you simply have to tap them to come apart. I purchased a stainless steel scoop vs the plastic one that came with it to accomplish that.Amazingly it dropped the first cubes about 15-20 minutes after I got everything set up. I came back 8 hours later and it was full. Now unless it conks out in 6 months, that’s another story. But the set up is easy. I installed a permanent drain line and built a 10 inch platform for it to sit on. Keeps me from having to bend down and it assist with the gravity drainage. Mine is in a small warehouse. Concrete floors that are a little uneven. Had to do some adjusting to make sure that water drained into the drain located in the back left corner. It’s very close to large gourmet sized ice cubes.

    Came with broken internal parts.

I ordered this on November 19th and it arrived on the 23rd. Installed it today the 25th and turned it on. Made a very loud noise then the fan turned on. Started looking underneath and first thing I noticed was the the drain tube from it ice chest to the external drain connection was broken. Water dumps directly out the bottom of the machine onto the floor. The loud noise is due to the shroud around the fan being broken in multiple places and the fan blades are hitting it in multiple places. I have contacted the manufacture through their website to request an exchange. We will see if they respond to correct the defects. The shipping packaging was undamaged upon arrival.Edit:Contacted customer support about defective item. Sent a new one which has been producing ice with no problems.

    Best little ice machine

I had an old ice machine and it finally broke down beyond repair. I did lots of research and decided to give this Euhomy a try. I have it in my backyard barbecue area and it works great! It is a small machine but puts out a lot of ice. It will not fill your rolling ice chest but it will make a really good start. I have filled up some medium size ice chest with no problem and it does not take long to fill the ice ben after you take the ice out. For everyday or party time, it works really good!! Well worth the money. It has small square ice cubes that fit into any kind of container.

Works better than most expensive Brands I had.

Simple machine: it works better than expensive brand i had. I recommend to use a filter or clean the machine with food grade scale cleaner periodically. It will last for a long time.I had a pump problem. It took a few days to get to the solution and get the part sent out but they will help fix. Support is only by email. You can not call them .

    Working flawlessly

OK, i added this ice maker under a pole barn outside. So far it will make Ice nonstop. I like the feature where you can adjust the time to longer so the cubes are solid. Solid cubes don’t melt as quick in a cooler. I’m running it off of a RV water hose. This is quick to connect and any hardware store sells the fitting to convert it over to a hose.

bit of struggle but once you get it up and running it works well

Installation a struggle. Manual that came with it did not help, ask support to provide you the soft copy until they can improve.Recommend to avoid water coming out (US connections vs Chinese connections) that you tighten around them high pressure self-fusing silicone water tape. Would not hurt to buy for fifteen bucks a water alarm to make you feel better that you can catch a leak if one ever develops. It is not straightforward to install the supplied the drain hose. No photos to show where it belongs – ask support and they will provide you photo of how it is supposed to look. It might be obvious but when you first try you are not sure it fits and if you push it on you are afraid it will tear apart. I can tell you try the narrow part of the drainage hose (gray color) … push it in but rotate until all of the water outlet is cover – then push it on … it will be a tight fit. The push panel controls are poorly presented and hard to operate. Part of the reason is less the panel and just ae user manual that needs enhancing. The company has assured me they will enhance.Ice cubes are very wet with the very first batch. Definitely no refrigeration. However, if you let the bucket get full of ice, it effectively creates a cold environment but not cold enough to have non-wet ice. You need to take them out and then put them in a bag and place them in your chest freezer or refrig’s freezer.

    Details made the difference!

machine showed up well packaged. Bought because of reviews about customer service and glad I did. When it arrived, it sat upright for a few days until the kitchen was ready. (Remodel) . Since then, has been working flawlessly – for nearly two months now. The noise is noticeable, but not overly so. We usually turn it off during the day…on at night when ice bin gets low. One button push is all it takes. As to the amount of ice, it makes is way more than we need in a day and when turned on, fills the bin in about 3 hours. Everything needed to hookup machine to water and drain was included….awesome! The drain plug fit snugly into a 3/4 in PVC reducer which made drain attach to wall a cinch. Manual recommends a filter – we added a 2 stage APEC filter since cost of that vs. single stage was negligible – so ice from well water tastes fabulous. The non-refrigerated ice bin keeps the ice wet – perfect for drinks. We bought bags and filled for longer term storage in the deep freeze when we need large volume of ice for fishing trips. It is well made and was worth the extra $50 (I think) over the competitor’s similar looking machine. Only downside is the flimsy ice scoop…yeah, its a scoop….but flimsy. Ditch it and get a beefier one…you’ll be glad. The attention to detail (packaging, water lines, connectors, plenty drain pipe length, instruction manual etc) are clues that the company cares about both quality product and experience…not just about making a buck. Very happy with this purchase!

    Works well so far

Have had it running for a week or so. Easy to use and set up except that it doesn’t come with the fittings to T into an existing water line. The assumption in the instructions and the parts provided are that you will attach the water feed hose to a valve with a 1/2 in fitting. Most valves these days are 3/8 in. You will need a T that matches your valve and a compression fitting for 1/4 in plastic pipe (the nut, ferrule and the sleeve that goes into the plastic pipe), the latter being what is supplied with the ice maker. You can discard the two provided fittings (the also provided two 1/4 in lines – no idea why). I took off one star for not providing the right fittings.Makes ice as expected. A little louder than I expected when running and gets louder when expelling the the ice from its freezing tray. Not bad but I think it would be annoying in a quiet room. As a result, I am planning on installing it in pantry where the sound won’t be as noticeable. This is the first time I have used one of these that wasn’t storing the ice in a freezer compartment so I am a bit dismayed at how quickly it melts. Right now it is in a garage which is 87 deg. The tray the ice drops into apparently isn’t as well insulated as I hoped (maybe it won’t be as much of an issue once it is in the house where the temps are in the low 70’s).Another issue is the warranty registration process. The website they refer you to (not a Euhomy website) kept telling me that the order number wasn’t recognized even though I pasted it directly from Amazon. When I emailed them, all I got back was a form email telling me to go to their Facebook page (without telling me the name of their Facebook page – was it under Euhomy or the name of the warranty registration page?). After finding the Euhomy Facebook page, I couldn’t find a warranty registration form there but it did link me to a Euhomy website where the registration is under a Support tab. A lot of time wasted.

Dependable Customer Service and Warrenty Services

The particular model of ice machine I purchased is a fantastic ice producing machine. It appears that it may have had an inherent problem when looking at reviews with an Electronic code error E2. My machine stopped in March and came up with this error Code. I e-mailed customer service and they quickly responded with suggestions and asked for more details about what the machine was doing. They initially gave me a list of troubleshooting tasks to try to see if it solved the E2 error. None of the steps they suggested applied since the machine was not working at all except for the Error info display. I sent them pictures of the Error display as well as pictures of the inside of the machine and connections to the machine. A few days later Lilly e-mailed me with a solution of replacing the machine with a newer model. I told them I would be happy just doing the repair if they knew what parts were needed. She confirmed that replacement was a better option for my situation since I had followed their trouble shooting suggestions and the error remained. Other reviews infer that this company does not back their products. I believe that this is False!! they responded quickly, suggested solutions, looked at documentation and acted above my expectations. People that buy these online electronic products need to understand that a company has a right to ask you to try some troubleshooting steps as a simple fix may be possible. The cost of having a repair person to come to your house is not justified or expedient as parts may still need to be ordered and a second house call needed. The repair labor and parts cost is greater than the value of the product. Working with these online companies in solving problems may take a few days or maybe weeks but repairman calls are not any quicker since parts have to be ordered. Euhomy is trying to work in this new Online world and we all need to Just Chill and work on solving our electronic problems. Perhaps there was an inherent error in a particular machine model but I’m sure companies quickly grasp this when a reoccurring problem develops. I am 100% satisfied with my service by this company.

If you use ice, this will save you $$ in no time

This thing is a little gem. With the holiday/football season and entertaining we would probably use 60 lbs of ice each weekend. If you live near a Costco then it’s no problem but anywhere else ice runs about .25 cents/lb…I think 100lbs per day is probably accurate and you can always bag some up and throw it in the freezer. The absolute best part is that you aren’t victim to the store being out of ice!

    This Ice Machine Is Awesome!

This machine is awesome. We own an Italian Ice Store which we just opened 6 weeks ago and we were constantly running out to buy ice. Since we went over budget so much getting our store ready to open, we couldn’t afford one of those expensive ice machines so one day I was looking on Amazon and I found this ice machine. I read the reviews and I figured it must be a decent machine though I was a bit skeptical of how much ice it would make. I said to my wife, “Let’s take a chance on it and even if it only makes half of the ice we need, that will make it so we don’t need to run out to buy ice so often.” I connected the machine to the water and electric on Friday about noon and by later in the day, I was totally amazed at how much ice this machine was making. Then I came in on Saturday Morning and the bin was full and that gave me 3 bags of ice to start the day with. As the day went on Saturday, I noticed that the machine wasn’t making ice as fast as it was the past couple of days. We have the machine in a very small room and after realizing the machine wasn’t making ice as fast, I also realized that the room temperature had gone up 9 degrees F since the day we started using the machine. The room temperature will have a major effect on a machine like this. On Monday I brought a fan in to circulate the air out of the room and bring cooler air in and the room cooled down in no time. After that, the machine was again spitting the ice out really fast. This made me think about reviews of this machine I read stating that it doesn’t make ice fast enough could very well be because the person has their ice machine in too warm of a location. If you ever purchase a machine like this, be sure to place it in an area as cool as you can. I am loving this machine. If you look at the picture I posted, all of the blue bags are from this ice machine. You need to take into consideration that we use ice all day long and I just took this picture and I haven’t even emptied the ice machine yet this morning so there are another 3 bags in the machine waiting for me to place in the freezer. After owning this ice machine for almost 2 months, I wrote this to the company:We sell Italian Ice and we are both elderly and have back problems. We were constantly running to Kroger or Walmart to purchase ice and we would buy 140 lb. to 160 lb. each time. We would have to load it in the back of our pickup truck and then carry all the ice into our store which was very difficult to do.One day I was on Amazon.com and decided to search and see what kind of ice machines were available. Due to us going over budget to open our store, we could not afford to spend a lot of money. I was surprised at how many ice machines I found that were affordable, but I was skeptical as to if any of them would make near as much ice as we use. After looking at many machines, I showed your machine to my wife and said, “Even if it makes half as much ice as they claim it makes, that will save us trips to the store and the ice won’t be all frozen together like the ice we are buying.”Your ice machine surprised me the very first day I had it working. I could not believe how much ice it kept making. I find your ice machine to be amazing. We often have times that we can’t remove ice from the machine because all 3 of our freezers are totally full. I included the pictures of our freezers just so you can see how much ice we have on hand. Due to how much ice we do have on hand, we decided that we are not only going to use the ice for our Italian Ice, we are also going to start selling bags of ice.

    I absolutely love it!

I’ve been using my ice maker for 4 weeks and it’s awesome. Produces ice surprisingly fast. The only problem I have is my poor water quality. I put an inline filter and still have white powder mineral coming thru. I get an E2 message, I then clean the water dividing pipe. (Very simple to do, easy access.) It starts producing ice with no problems. A great decision to purchase.

    Not awful

Setting up was pretty simple. Operation is simple. Ice chunks don’t completely break up, makes it kinda hard to just scoop into a cup to serve a soda. Smaller ice chunks would be nicer too. But it serves the purpose considering ice makers / machines are so expensive

EDIT Unit was replaced for free but still not working efficiently and received a full refund. Both units have been disposed of. The first one worked great for the first 4 months so was disappointed it just stopped working and the second one didn’t produce but 3 inches of ice the entire time. NOt the best quality icemaker. Please note they did refund us entirely and we ended up with 2 broken machines we didn’t have to return but did take until i posted a negative response before they reached out. However, they have been emailing almost daily trying to troubleshoot units until they decided to just send new unit.(Original post: Ordered the ice maker end of March and got in the beginning of April. There was a 30 day only return policy and the unit stopped working in August already. Says Error E2 “Refrig Leak”. Did have a hard time with response. )

    Working As Expected

This machine is replacing a very similar one that only lasted 3 years. The compressor wore out. Hopefully this one lasts longer. We’ll see. This one cost $200 less than the last one.

    Very fast ice making.

We purchased our Euhomy ice maker 3 years ago for our second home in Islamorada, FL. Were impressed by how quickly it produced ice, filling its bin in a few short hours. Recently a power surge caused the water pump to fail. Despite being out of warranty their customer support department quickly responded and sent me a new pump with very easy DIY instructions. They were extremely attentive and helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend them highly.

Freexe unit froze over but support made it right

Purchased the ice maker and it worked like a dream. Then the freezing unit started freezing giant thick ice over it. We worked with timer settings, but could not get past it, then contacted Customer Support. They were great to work with, and only by email.

Working great, makes ice at the rated speed!

This product is certainly “easy to install”. I put that in quotes, since you need a water line coming in, and a drain line going out. It’s very easy, in that it just plugs into your power outlet (no hard wiring), but if you aren’t particularly handy you might need a plumber to run those lines for you. But it’s not a complicated install either way. Some things to note, and none of these are ‘knocks’ on the Euhomy, this is the way all ice makers in this category operate, but if you’re just getting one for the first time for your house, maybe you didn’t know.1) The bin where the ice is stored is just a bin. Ice in there will slowly melt over time. Only the part of the machine where the ice is made is chilled. This is probably a good thing for you. It makes this product much more affordable, and it is friendlier to your electric bill.2) You need three things – a power outlet (regular 110V), a water line coming in (same as your refrigerator’s ice maker needed), and a drain line coming out – remember that bin? When ice melts, it becomes water. That will pool on the floor, or you can run the line and remove the water. Do that. ;)In my case, we installed it in our garage. It’s not obnoxiously loud, but if you put it in your kitchen, you WILL hear the condenser come on as it’s making ice. It sits about 6 feet from our hot water heater, so we had a relatively easy install, we had a guy tap that water line for the heater, and run it also to the Euhomy. Voila, ice coming in! We installed a water filter in between the water line and the ice maker, because filtration! For the drain line, there was no way to get it safely outside my garage floor without a condensate pump. All ice makers like this rely on a gravity drain. If the drain line runs DOWN, gravity will ensure the water leaves. The further you run that line, the less likely you can keep it sloping downward. So any local big box hardware store will sell for under $100 a water condensate pump. Run the line to the pump, and then from the pump to a place where it’s safe for water to go, and you’re good to go. Our line from the ice maker to the pump is a downward slope, and the pump has a float, then when it floats that means enough water is in the unit, and it pumps it out of our house. Get a good pump, the cheap ones fail relentlessly. Our same plumber ran that line right next to where the water heater’s exit line was, drilled a small hole, and boom – all my melted ice water flows safely to the grass outside my garage. One last thing… I’ll say it again. If you need a condensate pump, buy a good one. The first one we had died really quick. The cheap ones are very cheap, and being in the garage didn’t help (the motor overheated). We knew it failed right away, there was puddle of water on the floor one morning, and the unit was very hot. It had a small fan near the power supply that burned out within a month of installation. I bought a much better pump, and have had no problems yet. It also has a float-less design (one less thing to get ‘stuck’) and lots of indicators. Don’t spend $400-500 on a ice maker, and possibly $200-400 on a plumber and then stick a cheap pump in there. Get a good pump if you need it!Because it’s in a garage, and because that garage is in South Florida, I did use the timer feature to let it “freeze” ice longer. I have it set to +4 – which basically means it freezes the ice an additional four minutes before dropping it in the bin. The ice was a little to “soft” with some unfrozen water in the middle of the cube otherwise. Depending on where your ice maker is, you might not need that drastic an adjustment. It still makes ice really quick and really often. The ONLY other quirk is… it’s rainy season in Florida. We get a lot of thunderstorms, and our power likes to blip out for a minute or two sometimes. This unit will NOT turn itself back on. So some morning I walk in, and the bin is less than full because the power in the house went out briefly. Push the power button, reset my timer to +4 and I’m good to go. I wish it had an auto-power feature to turn itself back on. I may add a small UPS to avoid the power interruptions, and to prolong the life on the unit.

    3rd purchase

This machine lasts about three years. In the mean time, it puts out a goodly amount of ice each day. Much more than some of the significantly more expensive models. I don’t think I would use it commercially, but for home usage it is great. I love having 30 lbs of ice at hand for canning and company. You do need to put a filter on your water line and descale each week to keep it functioning or the hard water deposits clog up the drip lines. The instructions weren’t clear on how to clean it, but I finally figured it out. It is a very easy process. Turn the machine off and them hold down the clean button for a count of 5. You do need a descaling solution for the cleaning process.

Review on Euhomy Commercial Ice Machine

The media could not be loaded.

Hello I am from the Bahamas and i am an entrepreneur, I was interested in buying an ice machine because i sell beverages on the road, and stumbled across this product, based on the reviews. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the bad reviews so I asked a friend and also my dad what were their opinions, my dad told me to give it another week (decision making process) and my friend told me to get this. So I got this the following week, as was advised from my friend, as this was and probably still is number #1 top Commercial ice machine and a fast seller. The installation wasn’t all too hard, despite me having no experience in plumbing nor electrical, it took back and forth trips to the hardware store and probably about $300 in labor and supplies which comprised of the electrical and plumbing work of course. After the installation was completed I gave it an additional 12 hours prior to starting it up to ensure the PVC glue cured well, hence the machine received more than 24 hours in an upright position as stated (advised) on the front facing. I started the machine the next day and allowed it to self-clean for 20 minutes before making the first batch of ice. Everything sounded normal, however during this phase i thought the machine encountered a problem due to the length of time it took to fill up with water (flashing arrow indicating machine is filling up) to my avail that eventually disappeared and the machine cleaning phase had completed and it went into ice making mode automatically. All i did was watch as the ice was being slowly made, i stepped out of the shed to do some other work around the house and came back to see what was the state of it, it was flashing “08 min” indicating 8 minutes left before the completion of the first batch of ice. The ice fell into the bin( a bit loudly), but i didn’t mind all i wanted was ice. There it was my first (premature formed) batch of ice. After witnessing it dispense the first batch, i left it alone for 2-3 hours, coming back however i was shocked to see how little ice it had made. I then began to observe it more closely to discern exactly what could be causing it to make premature ice and not fill up. I noticed after every batch of ice that was made, the dispensing tube would wet the bin up (that the ice would drop in) and sort of defeat the purpose of what the machine was intended to do(make ice). Immediately i contacted customer support, and was advised to send videos accompanied with other information. Willow responded in about under a day, after all it was over the weekend so i had assumed company hours was offline at the time, fortunately i didn’t had to wait until Monday for a response and got a message from Willow @ Euhomy customer support on sunday. Willow said the tube letting out the water above the ice trays was not positioned properly and if i would not mind to rotate the tube where the holes (nine of them) would point downwards. I did that (very easy to do) and started the machine again.WaLah ! 🙂 Happy Boy, Ice was now maturely being produced and was not melting down after every completed cycle. I will upload pictures and a video. The machine has been running almost 7 days str8 so far it has encountered one (E2) error, but i think that was because the bin being full of ice held down the white flap for a while (presumably speaking). I am pleased that with this product and would advise other people to buy it as well, customer service is quite reputable. I wanted to upload the video of what it was doing prior to the fix but i could of only uploaded 1 video. ~ Additional note: Makes a TON of ice ~Update: Excellent Customer Support, I’d recommend this product or any Euhomy product to anyone interested in ice machines(No wonder they are #1 in commercial ice machines ^_^), just based on their customer support reliability. ~SIX STARS ~

    Works well, with few caveats

First off – this makes good ice, relatively quickly and easily. Not a lot of hassle and cranks out a good deal of ice in a day with a nice storage bin. I hooked ours up to an undersink RO and the ice is clear. About 15-20 minutes a batch once it gets going is about right, and it makes about a typical ice tray’s worth in a batch. The nuggets are about 1″x1″ cube with a slight dimple on one face, the pictures are accurate.A few things that it could do better – none of them are deal breakers:There isn’t much of a difference between the ice size settings. At least on my unit they call come out looking about like a 6 on the picture. It comes with an ice scoop – nice. It has a little hook to hang the ice scoop on inside the bin, which is nice. The ice comes down and buries the scoop on the hook, so you can’t get to it without making a mess – not so nice. The ice is made in sheets of nuggets, about 6×10 or so, the picture is accurate for a single ice cube. When the bin is at a low level, the sheets fall enough that the ice breaks up pretty nicely. When it’s nearly full, the sheets don’t really break up and you have to hammer at them to get them broke up.The bin isn’t terribly well insulated. It’s not horrible, but could definitely be better.Because the bin isn’t so well insulated, it will waste a bit of water if you don’t use a lot of ice every day.The timer is not reoccurring – you can’t set it to come on or go off at the same time every day, for example, without resetting the timer each day. Or at least if you can, I couldn’t figure it out.Unit does make a good bit of noise and puts off some heat when it’s making ice. If you had in in an enclosed cabinet the heat could be an issue, and if you don’t the noise could be an issue. It makes more noise than a refrigerator, about on par with a mid-level dishwasher. The unit does not recycle melted ice – it just goes down the drain. Seems like it would be a relatively easy modification to be able to recycle the meltwater into the next batch of ice.The drain on the unit is just gravity – if you don’t have a floor drain or something similar, you will either need to scoop out the water in the ice bin with a bucket, or you will need a condensate pump (I used a Little Giant) to get it up into a sink or other drain, and a check valve to keep the sink from back draining into your condensate pump. The unit ships with protective film on the stainless. The plastic trim pieces install over the stainless – making the film nearly impossible to get all off.

    Works Great!

I’ve had my Euhomy ice machine for 6 months now and I love it. This machine replaced a previous ice machine in my home bar where I already had the water supply and drain in place. The Euhomy’s included water supply line seemed cheap and flimsy so I bought an adapter at Lowe’s and upgraded to a stainless braided hose. You WILL need a drain! This machine generates ice fairly quickly but its storage bin is not a freezer and therefore melts over time (speed depends on your environment). Without a drain your bin will turn into a swimming pool as the ice melts. The drain is gravity fed so your drain system must be BELOW the Euhomy’s drain line (located just a few inches above the bottom of the machine) or you can purchase and install a small drain pump to push the water upward to a sink drain pipe. I built a short riser for my machine to sit on, raising it and subsequently its drain outlet 4 inches higher allowing it to align with my existing wall drain system. If I run the machine continuously, it will cut itself off when filled with ice (fresh batch every 10-15 min.) Then it will turn itself back on as needed to replace any melting ice and keep itself full. If I know I won’t need ice for a few days and manually turn it off, all the ice will have melted within about 12 hours (machine is located inside my home with the A/C set around 75).Some reviewers have complained about ice being melty or wet, and melting very quickly. There is a simple menu screen adjustment on the front for how “hard” you want the ice cubes to be (read the instructions because the hardness setting numbering system didn’t seem obvious to me). Even on the hardest setting, the ice does seem to melt in my drink faster than ice from my freezer. But for me it’s not a problem. Again, this is not a freezer so there is no way to keep the ice super cold after it drops into the bin. Some reviews complain that when the cubes drop they don’t break apart but rather stay together in sheets. What I’ve found is that when I set it to freeze “hard”, the fist batches that drop all the way to the bin’s floor will break apart. But as the ice piles up and fills the bin, the newest batches only fall a few inches inches landing on top of the pile and don’t usually break apart. But I keep a stainless kitchen meat mallet in the bar and a few light taps on the pile of ice and they easily break apart.I read at least one review that claimed the machine he received wasn’t stainless and was in fact ugly white plastic. All I can say is mine came with a protective white plastic wrap that I had to peel off to reveal the stainless. My wife placed a magnetic hook on the front for the ice shovel. Now while I’m no scientist, it is my understanding that magnets won’t stick to stainless soooo… I’m not sure if it’s actually stainless steel but it IS metal and it LOOKS like stainless. It does make a little noise as some complain, but I hardly notice anymore and my bar is in the middle of the house just feet from my living room. Once it’s full, it only kicks on a few times through out day for about 10 min.Overall, it works perfectly for me. I paid $399 with free shipping and got it within a few days. It was packed very well and runs perfectly. (I did get an error code once but a quick power off and back on… no more trouble). Be ready to clean it every so often as you should any appliance. I would absolutely recommend this ice machine for any home as long as you understand that the ice bin is not a freezer (mediocre cooler at best).

Amazing Machine and a BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I owned a Bagel Shop and we used to have a big bulky Ice Machine that broke on me. I purchased this AUHOMY machine from this vendor at Amazon. The machine is really amazing and makes full, dense ice cubes and it makes them fast. It’s compact but not small also not bulky at all. It makes the similar amount ice like my other bulky machine did. It looks and works great. I did have a small issue with the water pump, it may have been the bad water quality, who knows. But the customer service at AUHOMY was incredible. They answered me right away and resolved my issues immediately. They offered me a variety of options to choose from. I asked to a complete replacement of the machine and they did it. The professionalism and promptness of the customer service and the quality of this machine satisfied me to the MAX. I will recommend this ice machine to everybody I know. YOU SHOULD NOT LOOK FOR ANY OTHER ICE MACHINE. BUY THIS ONE.

    A few key points

I’ve had this ice maker going on almost 6 months now. It has been reliable and makes a good amount of ice. There are a few noises that it makes while making ice but nothing you wouldn’t expect. Definitely not too loud or deafening. The installation was a breeze as far as hooking up water (with an inline filter of course) and running a drain for the ice bin. The ice bin IS NOT REFRIGERATED and it clearly states that in the description, but even if the machine gets turned off it will keep ice already made for quite some time. I have my ice maker in our bar/pool table room that is climate controlled. I would not put it outside (I live in Texas) and I just do not think it would do well in the summer trying to keep ice.The INFAMOUS “E-2” codes….. I have had a few “E-2” codes already but I will say it has been a very EASY fix. It is a water flow issue. Make sure the “water dispersing tube” at the top of the metal ice making squares is not clogged, and make sure you have a spare inline filter on hand. The water flow problem that I had though was not from either of those two common fixes according to the manual but with FULL ice bins.I ran into two minor problems:1. The ice partially dumped but did not trip the stop float for the water cut off sensor. It was trying to make more ice where it didn’t have any place to go it resulted in a build up of over the cooling squares that didn’t drop and was trying to make more ice on top of that.2. the second E2 seems to be when the bin is full for an extended period with no water flow over the cooling squares. I think, but not sure, there might be ice forming in the water dispensing tube or in the water supply line close to the cooling squares.Either way I have found that unplugging (I count to 30 in case of capacitors) the machine resets all E2 errors.for problem #1 it will immediately reset and start making ice again.for problem #2 unplug it- and E2 persists on start up– unplug it again and let it set for 30 minutes to an hour and it should resolve. Keep in mind that I have only had to do this once.Once I figured out a couple of quirks this machine has, it really been no problems since. For the price point I think it is fine and makes good ice. Has it been worth it? Yes, so far so good. And FINALLY, for the reviewers complaining about the ice being in one big sheet…just buy a metal ice scoop and give it a whack or two and it breaks up the cubes just fine.

    Great machine for the price

Easy to install. I ran a new drain and power to make it permanent, but if treated right, it could travel well and be used just about anywhere. I wish the lid would slide all the way into the unit. It annoys tall people. Makes a lot of ice pretty fast. Full bin in 4-6 hours. Would like smaller cubes. Looking for a way to change the cube making tray. Only able to make ice thinner which means it melts faster. It is also louder than expected. Like a dishwasher, but you get used to it pretty quick. And once full it doesn’t run very often if it’s in a cool space.

    Okayish value for the money

Ok, I’ve had my machine for well over a year now so I’ll give the bad news first. The advertised capacities are optimistic at best. If the unit is tuned on and let run until it shuts itself off because it’s full, it most certainly does not hold 33 lbs in the storage bin. I can easily put every cube in the bin into a 20 lb ice bag. It also will not make 100 lbs in 24hrs. My machine is installed in a large laundry room/ pantry that only ever gets 72 degrees farenheit at most and the incoming water supply is never more than the temperature of the room (the biggest excuses for lack of ice machine production are high ambient temperature and high supply water temp). I put my ice in 10lb bags and store them in a chest freezer so there’s plenty on hand to ice down the boat or a case of beer in a cooler without having to run the machine 24/7, I have never been able to put away more than 4 ten pound bags in 12 hours of machine run time. So with all of that being said it’s an 80lb machine with a 20lb bin. Instead of having a normal reliable 1/4″ threaded water hookup like your fridge has, it uses a goofy push lock tubing setup that seperates the pressurized potable water supply from the expensive interior of your home with nothing more than a tiny rubber o ring. I just know that one day im going to come home and open the door to see my dog floating across the living room on the couch, but for now its working. Now, the biggest pain is that the machine will shut down in the middle of making ice but the display shows that the machine is still running with no fault codes from time to time. Over all its not hard to fix, just unplug the machine, plug it back in and it’s back to business. Maybe I should have called the manufacturer and had the control board replaced under warranty while it was still within the warranty period? Maybe I’m just a procrastinator so it never happened? Yeah probably to both…. but enough of the bad, here’s the positive. This machine is actually pretty efficient to run. It consumes about 200 watts of electricity on average. It’s really not horribly loud. You can’t find a new domestically made 80lb in 24hours machine for anywhere near what this machine costs. It’s the perfect machine to turn on, let it run over night to ice down a smaller ice chest the next morning for work or provide extra ice for a large family event. Does it have it’s short comings? Absolutely. Do I have buyers remorse? Nah. Try one out for yourself, they are moderately ok for the price, or don’t, I’m not going to tell you how to live your life…

Great entry level machine for small business, love it!

I purchased this ice machine for our small coffee shop, it’s perfect for us! We needed something compact and affordable and this fit nicely under the counter where we had removed a cabinet. We’ve only been using it for a month and are currently in our slow season so once spring break rolls around and the demand for ice increases I will try to come back and give an update. A couple of things that I would like to address that I found in previous reviews; Someone said that the cube SIZE is NOT adjustable. This is NOT true, it IS adjustable! However, It does not adjust the overall dimensions of the cube but allows you to adjust the thickness of the cube wall. I first set it to its largest size which gives you a very thick rectangular sheet of ice that can be broken apart with some effort (not with the plastic scoop that comes with the machine). This size did not work for us because we are using the ice to make ice coffees and smoothies so we needed the cubes to be looser so that we could better manage the portion of ice we are putting in the cups. After a little trial and error we found that setting the cube size to -4 is perfect for us and allows the ice to be broken apart with ease and also gives a quicker recovery time since there is less water being used per cube. If you are bagging ice to sell or if you are just filling up coolers I would suggest using a thicker cube setting. Either way I found that the machine responds quickly to adjustments so it only takes one cycle for you to see the results of your adjustment. Even though the machine drops one rack of cubes every 10 minutes our less it remains to be seen wether or not it will keep up with our summer demand. I am optimistic and hopeful!Things I would like to see the manufacturer consider changing. 1) Adding Adjustable (and taller) feet to the machine. This will allow customers to easily level the machine in cases where the floor is unlevel. 2) Make the overall height of the cabinet taller so there is zero clearance between the top of the ice maker and the bottom of the counter top. It will give a more custom and finished look after installation. I used 3/4″ PVC couplers that fit perfectly over the the factory feet to raise the unit about an inch and it still was no where close to the bottom of the counter top. To get a nice finished look I had to cut down a piece of 1×4 to about 2.25 inches and stain it to match the cabinets. It turned out nice! The other problem with the very short legs on the unit is that the drain line is so close to the ground that if you encounter the slightest incline while running the drain line the machine will not drain properly. PLEASE put taller LEGS on the ice maker! 3) Plastic ice scoop? I get it that something is better than nothing but if folks try to scoop out or break up the ice (especially when set to its thickest setting) the scoop will easily break. As I said, we have only been using our machine for about a month and we love it! I will do my best to get back to this review to give an update on how it is keeping up and also add some pictures! Feel free to ask questions on my review and I’ll try to answer the best I can. Cheers!

Awesome! **But more like 25# of storage!!

First off i would say this product is a Great Value and I 100% recommend it. The company is awesome to work with. The price went down a couple days after i bought ours…They gladly refunded us the difference when i sent them a message.I fish all summer and constantly need ice. After Costco hiked the ice prices by 250% i started shopping used commercial machines on craigslist. I decided to give this a shot before i spent $2k on a beat up old restaurant machine….I’m glad i did. This machine is compact, light weight, easy to set up. Could easily be brought on a camping trip or to a hotel (If they dont have ice). I bought the $40 in-line filter and spend another $20 to Tee into the connection of my wash sink. So far So good. Here are a couple considerations i would have found helpful going in;1. It makes ice faster than i anticipated. Awesome!2. It does need some significant drainage. I roto-hammered a 3/4″ hole through my garage slab because i know i have 25 yards of drain rock under it. Whiskey Tango move but it works.3. ***I think the only “Con” to this Item*** I weighed the 3 -“Ten pound” bags of ice i get out of the bin (when it shuts off) and they are between 7-8# each.**********When you wake up you will have ~25# of ice to use***********I’ve even broken the ice up in the bin as it comes out and it only gets another 1-2# yield. With the machine unplugged i bet you can fit 33# in it but it doesn’t make and store 33#.We fill bags with ice whenever we can. We store them in a freezer. I have no doubt the machine will make 100#+ in a 24 hour cycle. But If you need the bin capacity I would consider buying the next one up.

Still going strong 2.5 years later

This ice maker is awesome. It’s in an outdoor kitchen and has operated flawlessly through three summers and two winters in the Deep South without any issues. The storage box stays full of ice even on the hottest days. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a budget friendly ice maker. One thing to note, as an FYI, not a negative. If there is a power outage is must be manually turned back on by pressing the power button. It doesn’t restart automatically.

Doesn’t hold “33” lbs. of ice. MAYBE 20 lbs. Makes “blocks”, not “cubes”.

It’s not a bad machine for the money (I paid $400 to my door). But 3 problems I have: 1) It makes “cubes”, but they are all stuck together in a block, so they don’t separate into individual cubes. 2) The “blocks” bridge in the ice bin, hence the low quantity (lbs.), before the machine reads full and shuts off. 3) This ice maker is in my garage in California, and quite often it shuts down with an error code (“E2”). I power the unit off and right back on and it starts making ice again, but then quite often quits again. I believe this is due to ambient temperature. Seems like the warmer it is (ie: summer time), the more often I get the error code and it shuts down.I’m not using this for commercial means (and I definitely wouldn’t), so it’s not too bad for me. I just keep a cooler with my iced down beer in it on my patio, and use this to keep my ice supply up.Come on by and have a beer anytime! 🙂

    E2 fix

Excellent machine except when i got an E2 problem 2 years later. I have a filter installed in the water line which explains why it took two years compared to other people. I learned to fix the E2 problem. Just take the top cover off by removing the two back screws on top. Remove the tube with holes on top and clean that out really good. If you notice not a lot of water comes out, the water pump will also be clogged. All I did was blow into the rubber hose and it unclogged. Have not had any more problems since then.
