Good little player &Excellent Customer Service to fix a glitch
UPDATE 3 [Dec 17, 2020]4 DVDs played flawlessly in the new player. I conclude the original was an extremely rare dud. That would explain why the Ceihoit has so many high positive Amazon ratings. 2 CDs also played w/out problems. I’m very impressed with the excellent customer service and now am happy with the player performance. RAISING MY RATING. Initial hiccup, but overall I think they’re better than 4 stars so will raise to 5 starsUPDATE 2 [Dec 14, 2020]Seller **express shipped** a replacement player which I’m now testing. First movie loaded w/out issue and is playing. CUSTOMER RESPONSE HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING! I increased to 3 stars and will increase to 4 or based on evaluation of this replacement.UPDATE [Dec 9, 2020]>> Increased my rating from 1 to 2 stars. Seller contacted me immediately. Very fast replies to troubleshooting emails. Seller is now priority shipping a replacement player. This is better service than I get from my bank and insurance company and so is worth an upgrade. Assuming player arrives and tests out well, I’ll update this post – hopefully with a very positive rating.Despite the high positive feedback…….Ok, so my kids are home again and our bluray player is getting heavy use. I bought this Ceihoit as an inexpensive DVD player to use as a 2nd unit for the holidays. BAD NEWS: despite the high number of positive ratings – the unit I got doesn’t work.* It powered up* Worked for ~5minutes (RCA connection)* Switched to HDMI and the player failed (Repeated errors of “no CD” or “root”).* I spent ~ 2 hours testing the player with 3 HDMI cables, 2 TV’s and 5 store-bought DVD movies. My other DVD player works flawlessly in each configuration, but the Ceihoit player never worked.* Power-cycling the Ceihoit DVD player didn’t help; still won’t play DVDsI DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CEIHOIT PLAYER. Maybe the USB port works? Maybe the karaoke feature works? I paid for a DVD player and didn’t get one, so I won’t waste time testing/reviewing those other features. I’m happy for those who had positive experiences – maybe I got a defective unit?! – but I’ve already wasted too much of my time so this unit is going back as dead.

NOT THIS SMALL
Okay first, the picture in the product description is deceptive as all heck. Unless that person has hands the size of a frisbee, this DVD player is not that small. So pay attention to the dimensions (I didn’t). Also, the remote is set up awkwardly, not what I am (or most people are, I assume) used to. I do not like that the OKAY button does not pause or play, that’s a big irritation for me. A lot of the buttons actually just give you a “not a valid key” message on the screen. I am a subtitles watcher, and the subtitle key does not always work, you have to select from the original DVD menu to put them on. This hasn’t ever been a problem for me with other players. The point of having the button is to put on subtitles. I rent DVDs from the library, this DVD player does not play some of them. Not sure why. Not sure what it is about some rather than others (they’re not scratched or otherwise damaged) but it is also frustrating. All in all, for the price I suppose I couldn’t ask for all that much, but it is really a let down. I’d say splurge the extra 15 or 20 bucks for a better brand player, honestly. I still have the box and I’m considering returning it and doing that for myself.Edit: The annoyances continue. This thing is LOUD. Like as loud as the movie it plays. You can hear it spinning and skipping around the entire time it plays and it is not easy to ignore. The HDMI cord it came with BROKE off in my TV. And the remote has to be basically right in front of the thing to work, pointed straight at it just so. Extremely disappointed with this purchase overall.

Compact easy to setup
Very easy to use, compact. Easy to set up. Nice quality picture and sound. Love that it’s portable. Nice for the money. Only complaint is the remote have to press the buttons multiple times to get some of the systems to actually work, could be better quality.

Great for a Hotel Room!
This little thing is amazing! My husband needed two CD players for his studio, but they do so much more.We went on holiday for 10 days and took one along with movies we had not watched yet. It was so easy to plug into the room tv and the remote is super. So for music or playing ANY DVD this little unit is worth it!

sometimes it glitches and i have to unplug it and plug it back in to make it work again but for the price its awesomeUpdate : it still works pretty well with my dvds but my cds play 1 or 2 songs and then it skips to the end, i know it isnt my cds because its a diff ammount of songs each time

Clear sound and image and space saving design
I know dvds aren’t really a thing any more, but I do have a wide and varied collection that I don’t want to particularly buy again online, especially since some of them are region free imports of my favorite C dramas that can’t be found online. This was inexpensive and SMALL, a very big draw since our entertainment system has enough game systems junking it up. The picture and sound quality was clear and crisp for a very inexpensive little system. It hooked to our TV without issue and playback was smooth and not jerky. Cords are long enough to reach our mounted tv too, another bonus.

Surprisingly good…
I am 70 years old, and most of my audio/video components are not exactly cutting edge. They served me well until I purchased a DVD of a live performance from a London based company. When I received the disc, it would not play on my system. The folks I purchased it from were helpful and offered to refund my purchase price. I decided it was time to have a player that was able to play discs from other countries. That’s what led me to the Celhoit player. I was reluctant to spend a lot of money on something that I would likely not use often. The price point for the Celhoit player seemed worth the gamble, and the gamble payed off.The player was easy to connect, and it did exactly what it promised to do. Picture quality was excellent, and the remote was easy to use. I really couldn’t be happier with it.

Does the basics
My mom has always been talking about how she wants a new DVD player and I had this one in my wish list for awhile. There was a nice sale on it so I finally went ahead and bought it. Overall, I’m happy with this dvd player. It was easy to set up. Batteries were not included for the remote control which I found a little dumb but just a minor inconvenience.I tried to use the USB feature with no luck because there are so many restrictions on which file formats will work that I gave up. Not a signal file I tried to play would work. Not a total loss since the sole reason I bought this was to have a more reliable way of watching DVDs anyway.Depending on what I watch though, the picture quality can be pretty bad. Animated stuff works fine but that’s kind of a given most of the time. Watched a movie with my mom and it was weirdly dark for some screens, adjusted the tv settings and that helped but made watching the movie slightly less enjoyable. Also have to turn up the volume a lot since the sound isn’t great but this could just be an issue with our TV itself and the connection with the DVD player.

Great Multi-Region DVD Player
This is a great multi-region DVD player. Before purchasing this I read reviews and did not find any that actually discussed this feature. I live in the US but have several DVDs that are from Region 2 and 4, this player plays them perfectly and unlike some other players, you do not have to change any settings for them to play, no matter what DVD you put in, it immediately starts to play it. This DVD player is also super compact and uses very little power compared to some others. I assume it will last about a year or two, which is the average time most of these cheaper smaller players last. Other than the smaller size, it is basically identical to past multi-region players I have used, so I assume this is what replaced some of those brands as the remote and features are identical. The only cons I have with this player is that like others in the past, it likes to automatically play subtitles on about 75% of all DVDs I play from region 1, and on almost 100% of movies from Region 2 and 4, while not a big deal to hit the subtitle button to turn them off, it’s still somewhat annoying to have to turn them off after you put in every single movie, even if you change the settings to no subtitles, it still tends to play them at the start of every movie. The player also gets a bit aggressive when you go to eject the DVD and occasionally will bump it off it’s tray, so you do have to watch that so you don’t end up scratching the DVD. Overall I recommend this player and actually purchased another as a backup.

A reasonable DVD player if you have discs from other countries
I’ve gotten dvds that work on the PAL system, with British shows that are hard to find in this country. Players that are region free used to be pretty expensive. This one is inexpensive, and does a decent job of playing the discs. It’s small, not fancy by any means, but gets the job done.I’ve used it just over a month to watch some shows, and it’s worked well so far. If you don’t expect any frills, I think you’ll be satisfied.

Really great picture quality and a really good value.
I loved the small footprint and the ease of connection. All the cables you need to connect are included. The remote is also nice and small and functions very nicely.Best of all was the picture quality. While this is a very small, reletively inexpensive DVD Player, it is big on picture quality. Sorry my lighting caused a hotspot on my screen, but the picture quality compared favorably to my older, very expensive DVD Player, so I highly recommend this unit for its high quality and its low price.

Very workable small unit
Had no trouble figuring this out, and it plays my two Region 2 movies fine. At first, dvds would play briefly and then go to a black screen, and I would have to re-start the dvd, but then it eventually played every time, with no problems. Maybe it needed to warm up or adapt somehow to my Samsung TV; I don’t know what caused that initial problem. It’s the first Region 2/Region Free player I’ve owned, and I look forward to being able to watch more non-NTSC films.

What’s not to like?
Believe it or not, there are actually still people who own and play DVDs. I gifted this DVD player to an old friend of mine who’s happily using it in his RV now. I hooked it up for him and appreciated how plug-and-play easy to connect it was. Plus, it is super compact and travel-friendly, offers great picture quality, and is region-free on top of that. Small in size but pretty big in features, and it comes with all the necessary accessories too. So for the bargain price this little machine cost, I am certainly glad I was able to make someone happy!

Do not be fooled
I bought this player last August and after 5 uses, it’s no longer working and displaying disc errors. I was trying to return it to Amazon but I could not anymore and it’s disappearing in my previous purchases. I’m not sure what’s going on with that but it seems to me that they want me to post a poor review with this item.

good item, dishonest seller
Bought this as a “lightning deal” but next day was listed as “lowest price in 30 days.” Bought because I thought it was a special deal, but its not. The player is okay except for overly bright power/standby light. Not sure I will keep it, partly because of unit and displeasure with selling techniques. Tried telling Amazon about this, but got nowhere. I bet this review gets refused!

Great value, great size
Sound quality is great once you play with the settings. Very easy to install and use, comes with all cords and setup takes 5 minutes tops.Only complaint is the interface is dated compared to others on the market. For the money though, I can definitely overlook that. Highly recommend.

Tends to run warm; may affect device life
Most disc players have holes to allow air cooling. This one has such holes in the bottom surface, but nowhere else, so internal convection cannot occur. Other devices also have holes near the top, usually on the back, to allow this cooling.The player feels warm to the touch, even when turned off. It’s even warmer when playing a disc. I wonder how hot it’s getting inside the case. The lack of convective cooling may shorten lifespan.You can remove four small screws and take off the plastic top. If you then drill several small holes around the edges of the top before screwing it back on, the device will remain cooler and perhaps last longer. I expect this would also void the warranty.I think the manufacturer should have included such holes.

1080p Doubtful
This little DVD works and is very compact. I planned to use it in my RV so the compact size was attractive. Unfortunately, the picture quality was not what I had hoped for. It was really not good enough for movies so I returned it. However, it would be fine to watch workout videos or other non-movie quality recordings.

It’s decent for the price you pay
This product has issues such as buzzing in the sound, images not 100% sharp, and the picture can get snowy with horizontal bars that touching or moving the connection cords will remedy. It’s decent though for the price. I’ll definitely keep using it. What I like most about it is the small size.

Ceihoit DVD
DVD player, plays discs with no problems, but the remote control barely works. Unit is in bedroom, and remote won’t work from about 10 feet away, have to lean in closer to unit. Tried resetting unit, with marginal results. Other than remote, unit works well.

I still have some DVD movies that I love to watch but now with all the new technology , I have no way to watch them. I wanted to be able to still watch my favorite DVDs, so I got this! I love how compact and small this is. It is lightweight and easy to fit on the TV stand. So far the performance is good and it works well. Easy to put together and to use!

Cool Mini HD DVD Player
This came as advertised. Just a cool mini HD DVD player. I have some older DVDs and I want to be able to play them without having a device that takes up too much space, and this does just that. Very good purchase. Would recommend if you want something simple that works.

Revised Review
This product broke after being used twice. The HDMI port on the back of the player could not make an adequate connection to the HDMI cable. I do not recommend.Update: GKX reached out after I left a review and offered a refund or a replacement player. I chose to give the DVD player another try. Throughout that process GKX was thoughtful, helpful, and kind, which I appreciated greatly. The new DVD player works perfectly. I am happy with my purchase and grateful for such great customer service.

Small DVD player uses little space.
I like the super ease of connecting to the TV. I’m not IT savey but had no problem. Just plug in cable and play. The user manual is actually easy to understandand reads like it was written by someone who actually speaks english. Super simple. Played movies just fine and remote is easy to use and understand. What I don’t like is the VERY bright red light that comes on when the player is powered off. Why do you need a light using electricity when you shut the player off?! What a waste! Also way too bright for the bedroom! Would have been 5 stars if the red “off” light was either not there at all or been small and low light level. I think I’ll try putting a sticker over the red off light as I do not need a night light in the bedroom.

Unobtrusively small, simple functions, remote works well, quiet, and no issues that I know of.I have 2 of them. Both great.Only odd thing is that if power goes out, they turn on/play when power comes back on! No biggie, just odd.

I only use product for playing CDs. Unbelievable value. Easy to setup and use. Very good sound.
I was simply looking for a CD player that could attach via RCA cables to my newer sound system ( either attach to my receiver, or active speakers ). I am tired of battling to connect to blue tooth via a ‘certain’ OS – which I think doesn’t do blue-tooth well. Good quality and sound for the money. Simple to use. Remote is small, but works well.
