Could be Really Good
The grip could be really good. Very comfortable to use and easy orientation. However, the shutter release is sooooooo unreliable. Works great sometimes but other times nothing happens. Debating whether to return this or live with the unreliability.UPDATESo I tried working with this. Asked question on Amazon and wrote to Ulanzi. No HELP AT ALL. I am pretty sure myine is defective as a bought my wife one and it works fine. No customer support

I have shaky hands, and with this little critter I can stabilize and take amazing photos! Would love it to have a strap, but there are plenty of those out there you can get. Love this!

Intermittent bluetooth trouble and shutter button does not work
My photographer friend loved his iPhone grip and used it all night. So I bought the cg01, paired it easily, took a couple of pix at my grandson’s game, and then it stopped working. So I hacked around with charging more, pairing and unpairing, using it connected and not connected. It takes a couple of shots and then it stops working. I have spent 3 hours on this thing and there’s no support on the Ulanzi site or on Amazon, where only one other customer mentioned intermittent bluetooth connection as a cause. I love the feel but if I have spend all this time so I don’t have to push a screen button instead, it’s a POS. Beware.

Don’t bother if you have a case
It’s a really cool product and it pairs with the phone easily, but i had to take my phone case off completely for it to fit. I have a 13 pro max, which is what the title says- but it doesn’t fit my phone with even a basic case. Disappointing because I’ll never leave my house without a phone case.

Holds like a camera
Holds like a camera when you put the smart phone onto the clip. Bluetooth was easy to pair. Only thing is the USB cord inside the pocket is hard to take it out.

Zoom controls don’t work with Galaxy S22-Ultra.
It’s a great idea, and a well-made grip with a bright 3-level fill light. The remote shutter button works with my Galaxy S22-Ultra — provided I set the camera preferences for volume-control button shutter release. But the zoom buttons, one of the main reasons I ordered this product, don’t do anything other than activate the on-screen zoom control. They’re supposed to zoom in and out, obviously, but I could find no compatible settings, even with several 3rd party camera apps. So the product is only useful to me as a grip and a fill light. For that, I decided it IS worth keeping.I corresponded with the vendor via Amazon, and they were very friendly and helpful, and refunded my money after I ordered a second unit to test. I had no problem at all with the vendor, but the product description on the Amazon product page is INCORRECT, since it lists only one Samsung phone that is incompatible. After failing with my S22Ultra I suspect that it probably can’t zoom with ANY Samsung phones, but I’ve only tested it on this one model. It’s too bad, since zooming in video mode is awkward with any cellphone, and having zoom controls on the grip would have been very useful.Since the remote buttons are in a small, self-powered unit that can be removed from the grip, zooming while the camera is on a tripod would have been wonderful.

Great phone camera support
Great little camera phone support. However, the mirror/cap is a waste of money. Trigger works great and the support is unrivaled. I recommend for the avid phone photographer. Glad that I purchased. Save a few coins and get rid of the mirror cap.

This is really nice. It fits over my phone case, doesn’t block or interfere with any buttons. The shutter button seemed not to work well at first, then I realized that I needed to wait a few moments after turning it on to allow it time to connect. The remote comes off easily but connects tightly enough to stay in place. There’s a place on top for a light where a hot shoe for a flash would be – but it’s not hot, so your light would have to be battery operated. It will connect to a tripod. This does add bulk to your phone, but it still fits in my back pocket, although loosely. The mirror on the front is not great. It’s slightly reflective material, but very dull, not glass. It stays attached loosely. Easy to knock off. This is a good value for the money. I really like using it. I

Working fine so far on Pixel 7 Pro…
I’ve had the Cam Grip for less than a month but it has worked as expected so far. The Bluetooth trigger pairs with my pix 7 pro just fine. It also fits (just barely) on the phone with a case. The “mirror” attachment is pretty useless and it has fallen off several times. However, it doesn’t hurt anything. I only mentioned it if you are deciding on the prev. version, which didn’t have it.All in all, great for the price. Works as expected. I’ll update this once I’ve had it longer.

This Grip is a very good alternative to other ways to hold your camera (in my case, iPhone 15 Pro Max). I love the concept and it fills a need in the market for phone cameras. I was a professional photographer, now retired, and I still love taking photos. My iPhone 15 Pro Max fits my every need now for my photography these days.My two issues with the Grip are:1 – The shutter release. I am use to the very soft continuous touch of the shutter release on a professional camera. The CG-02 Grip has a hard shutter release that can cause camera shake when using it. To help others that may read this and have the same issue, I have a work-around for you. When you are ready to take the photo, press the shutter button on the Grip all the way down and release it when you are ready to take the photo. The shutter button does not take the photo when you press the button down, it takes it when the shutter button is released, therefore, causing far less shake. Remember, camera movement is the number one reason for blurry, soft, seamingly out of focus photos.2 – The bottom and top phone grips on the CG-02 Grip. They are a bit to short, mostly if you are using a case on your phone. (I noticed a number of other owners that have left reviews are having the same issue.) I turst the manufacturer will respond to these issues!A TIP: Play with where the grip is placed on the phone. I noticed that a lot of people have it positioned to the far right of the phone. This may be a good position for some, however, I find that positioning it more toward the center is better and gives you a better grip and less of your hand is covering/touching the screen. Move it in and out to find the best position for you.If you have these or similar issues, please go to your “Returns & Orders” page on the Amazon site and leave Feedback for the manufacturer/maker of this or any product you find issue with. That is the only way they know and that is the best way to get the products you deserve! I do it all the time!!!Thank you for reading my review. Very impressive for the money!
I just received it today, so not a lot of experience with it yet, but so far I think it’s very cool! I didn’t even realize that the shutter button was remote capable! I’m using with my Galaxy 23+, and my case has a built in stand, which I though might interfere. But it doesn’t seem to. The grip stays secure and easy to use. I think I’m going to use this a lot!

Great additional to my smartphone camera gear
I bought this camera grip to see if it would make holding my phone easier when shooting photos and videos. I’m using it with a Samsung Galaxy S23. I was pleased to find that I didn’t have to remove my phone case to use the grip.I had the opportunity to try out the camera grip while traveling recently. I was surprised at the difference that it made. The handle made it easier to take shots with one hand. It was also helpful for creating in-camera “whip pan” video transitionsI like having the cold shoe mount. I shot quite a bit of video, with my shotgun mic mounted in it, for capturing better audio.I used the quarter inch thread to mount my phone onto a selfie stick. I used that setup mostly for video, to simulate crane shots.The grip’s charging cable’s storage compartment came in unexpectedly handy. I had my power bank with me, but I’d left my phone charging cable back at my room. By coincidence, the remote button charging cable fit my phone. So, I was able to charge my phone throughout the day.Overall, I’m more than satisfied with my purchase.

Clumsy For Me
Too bad this product was too clumsy for me to use.It didn’t fit my iPhone 14 too easily and had trouble connecting to the Bluetooth.The reflector on the front falls off constantly, so I had to leave it off.I waited too long to return it, but Goodwill is ready for donations.

Turns your iPhone into an easy to hold camera
The product paired easily with my iPhone 11Pro. It was quick and easy to set up and will allow me to take photos without my slippery iPhone falling out of my hand. It accommodated my iPhone case as well so I don’t have to remove it from the protective cover for easier and quicker picture taking.

Works – mostly…
This is a great concept. I wanted it for a cruise so I didn’t drop my phone over the rail. It worked flawlessly in that regard. With a wrist lanyard, it is very secure. The phone clamps work well. The big issue is that the bluetooth connection is intermittent. I missed several pictures because the button had stopped working. If they can fix that, they’d have a winner.

I like the concept and for the most part, I like the final product, but whreally bothered me was something so simple like the cord that was Put under the switch in that cavity and they put it in upside down that’s right there’s a difference when you put the cord in with the metal at the bottom snags on the plastic and I still don’t have it out and I’m considering just sending it at back because it’s not a real common Charging cable I like the idea the handheld part of it is very efficient and I have an iPad Pro max 14 and seems like it will still work OK but can’t use it if I can’t get the cord out and charge it that’s why the low rating. I know I can return it and buy again, BUT… it’s not a very short trip for me, where I have to take it to return it.

Worked great with my s23 Ultra in a UAG case until the friggin’ remote detached itself and disappeared, never to be seen again. I even added a lens to make it a tiny bit more realistic!! Maybe they should re-engineer the method to secure the remote. Very disappointed as I was in Capetown on an extended holiday.Not recommended

Works As Promised
Excellent addition to Smartphone photography. Very functional. Holds my phone solidly. The cold shoe attachment on top would be useful if I were to attach a light. The 1/4″ screw on the bottom is perfect for attaching to a tripod. The mirror is, well… kinda useless, I suppose, but it doesn’t detract from the other features and looks OK, so, no harm, no foul. Overall a very smartly designed piece of gear for a good price!

This phone gadget has changed how I take my photos when I travel. One hand, not having to look for the button or tap it three times, not worrying about tapping it and making the photo blurry are all benefits that make this well worth the price if you are a digital photographer without a real camera available! I love the mirror that masquerades as a lens cap and the fact that you can store the charging cable inside the unit makes it so much easier to keep this charged. I also really like the fact that you can pull the button off and use it as a remote control. If you’re doing photographs on a tripod. This is one of my favorite purchases and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys taking photographs with their phone.* works great with my iPhone 12 pro max. I’m able to keep the protective case on my phone and I still feel comfortable with how securely my phone is held in place.

This is fantastic AND cheap!
I was looking at another brand online and it was Magsafe compatible, but cost $169. I found this and looked at some Youtube reviews and it turns out it works great. Some people mentioned hitting the phone screen with your hand, but the clamp is very strong and all you have to do it slide the camera over an inch and rest your thumb on the body of the camera unit. Works fantastic. It would be cool if a double tap changed from photo to video but that is more of a function of the phone. For less than $20, this really is helpful. Can’t go wrong, and Amazon has free returns f you hate it. But you won’t.

I love this
I bought this to use with my cell phone on vacation. I wanted the camera feel and this provided me with that. Charging it didn’t take very long. Connecting it to my phone via Bluetooth was very simple. It’s not cumbersome so it fits in my pocket while attached to my cell phone. It allowed me to take some awesome pictures.

Great for traveling
The more you use it, the more practical it becomes. I bought a simple tripod to go with it. This showed me to get some great pics of our hikes. It feels comfortable to hold for long periods of time. It easily allows you to prop up the phone in portrait or landscape.Pro tip for Android phones: the button on this grip functions according to your “volume key action” setting. The setting gives you the option to ‘zoom’, ‘shutter’, ‘volume’. The button on the grip will do whichever of these settings you choose.
