Works great with my monopod/tripod
I needed something that would let me know that my monopod/tripod was level when I put my 360 camera on it when shooting 3D photos for real estate. The base has a 3/8″ hole on the bottom, but it comes with a 1/4″ adapter so that it can be mounted on a 1/4″ tripod screw. My monopod has both the 1/4″ & 3/8″ screws so this works perfectly!

Way too stiff….
The panning feature was much too stiff. When panning the pressure applied due to the stiffness was enough to move the tripod which kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe I just bought a bad copy but I will be returning.

Precise
Using this as the base between my tripod and Neewer Quick Release plate. Very smooth rotation, very precise, with a convenient bubble level. Had to return the first iteration of this plate due to a manufacturing issue, but the return was seamless and this iteration is flawless!

Rotating clamp with rubber top
Please note that this has a rubber top. The rubber top will compress under load. A heavy rig on top of this rotator will wobble side to side. You can remove the rubber top, but the rubber is not glued onto a flat surface. Instead, it is partially inset into a circular depression. So removing the rubber top leaves just a thin ring of material along the perimeter of the rotator, which is not a stable surface for mounting additional gear. Also, the center bolt is 1/4-20, NOT 3/8 (the bottom female thread IS 3/8). So, this is ok for lightweight equipment (i.e. smartphone, point and shoot, etc). But for any kind of serious setup it simply is not precise enough due to the poor design choice of having a rubber top.

Not working with Astrophotography Tracker.
I bought this to help me polar align my astrophotography tracker. It does help in turning the tracker, in a latitude direction; but the problem comes when you go to balance the camera on the tracker. No matter how tight I turn the lock knob, there’s still movement with the tracker head… which means my polar alignment is knocked off. Very Frustrating. This is a great idea, in helping to align the tracker, but it’s been a struggle ever since I have purchased it.

It’s Inexpensive
The media could not be loaded.
This thing was inexpensive. I have been replenishing my camera accessories that I have sold off the past few decades and I remember buying a European made base that did roughly the same but had price tag in the hundreds. I believe the weight limit was a little lower and would make a ticking sound if you weighted it down.In the picture attached you can see that the base is the only piece that is not Manfrotto. But, this piece still makes operation rock solid. I use the base as a piece in a portable stand for my iPad mini.

Nothing cheaper or better
This completes my tool kit when it comes to panoramic. I use it on my star watcher for night time panos and just a tripod for any other panned shot I want. When using a ball head, you can’t unlock and move accurately so you just level and rely on this to dial up the degree you want to turn. It’s very thin and locks in to your ball head without any tools. I even added another piece between the camera and plate so I can move the camera up or back to adjust for the lens since you want the nodal point of the lens to be over dead center of the tripod for accurate panoramas.

Looking for a smooth pano thin head, this is it! Also mounts onto an RRS QR head release!
Again for the money a great item, very smooth panning but no click stops! Nice and thin would have been near perfect if it have a Arca Swiss clamp on the top!

So good I would buy another and figure out how to use it later.
Very secure, very smooth. Allows me to track azimuth with less play or flexure and with more precision than a panning head. Used for astrophotography where an arc second matters.

Great for Panorama without having re-lever yo tripod head
I have a Manfrotto and Benro tripod heads, and both have one locking mechanism to move the camera vertical and horizontal (for panorama)This is cheap alternative to have the panorama rotation separate from your typical tripod head. You can even tilt you tripod head and still do panorama using thisOr you can $400 for this https://www.amazon.com/Acratech-Panoramic-Head-Load-Capacity/dp/B00K62Z6N8?ref_=bl_dp_s_web_8135055011

A panoramic photographers must.
The perfect solution for my problem. I would set level on my ball head and start my pano, and would loose level after. This is the solution I was looking for, cost effective and a 100% solution. Set level now, and swivel with pano head perfect.

Well Built and Solves the Problem
I purchased this item to enable my camera to be properly oriented on a slide bar. It is well made and sturdy. Solves the problem handily without adding much height to the rig. I’ve been looking for this for quite some time. A good value all around.

Solid design and low profile.
I like this because it’s very low profile and sturdy. I have it on my 360 timelapse rotator so I can rotate the camera into position then lock it down and let the rotator do it’s thing. Works like a champ.

I combined it with a tilting monopod head and a quick release Plate System on my monopod! Fantastic results! Save lots of money over purchasing commercially available products that do the same thing!

Not for serious use
The panning plate may work for small, light equipment as long as you don’t tighten the brake knob too much. I tried to use it with my DSLR but it kept rotating and would not keep position no matter how much I tightened the knob. This only resulted in indentations on the internal clutch/disk assembly which ruined its rotational smoothness permanently. I only tightened by hand so the metal is really soft – not worth the cost.

locking mechanism is weak
no suitable for full frame cameras with long lens. The locking mechanism is too weak and the base can be easily rotated after tightening.

Smooth rotating, and strong leveling base
Great for panoramic photography. I use this head to level the tripod, before a head or camera is placed on the tripod. It’s got a very strong attachment screw which my tripod head can be attached, then the camera can be attached. For panorama photos, it’s important to level the tripod first. This helps to avoid parallax error. Rotation is smooth and the locking screw holds the rotation in place. It’s all manual, and it works, that’s what I wanted out of this base.

great
After reading some reviews, I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the one I got. Very smooth. The one thing I am not really satisfied with is the locking screw. It works fine now but does not inspire long term confidence.

tripod is level
Nice leveling system for any tripod. Would have preferred the top bolt to be a standard 3/8 for a camera to screw right on. They do provide the adapter for the 1/4 to 3/8. I used locktite on the threads, hopefully that will prevent it from always coming off.The plate is substantially more rugged than I expected for the price.A good value

Great but with one small issue…
Using to shoot panoramas. Bought male Arc plate for bottom to attach to tripod. Needed to allow leveling of tripod ball head, then being able to pan the leveled portion (if you just level the regular ball head, it will pan out of level if you use the pan head portion below the ball head). Anyway, works well and 6 shot pans stitch together trouble free. Only issue is the leveling bubble is a little vague as to when it is on center, so I have to use the camera level to confirm it is right. Happy, though – it is a cheap setup that is light enough and works.

Received used item–good quality
The item is fine, but a little “sticky” to turn. The problem is the item I received had the plastic bags with tools and a 3/8″ x 1/4″ adapter bushing torn open. The bushing was screwed on to the top of the base. The bottom of the base had scratch/scuff marks where it had been attached to a tripod or other support. It is in perfectly useful condition, so I kept it.

A really nice panning head
I’m using this to pan a GoPro on my bike handlebar, and for that purpose consider it perfect. It does pan slowly as some others have mentioned, but that makes the camera movement smooth, so it’s just fine with me even in cold weather, though it is a bit more sluggish when it’s cold, but still workable.

Cheap and Worth It
Pretty awful. First of all, it’s advertised as having 2-day delivery. Mine took a week to arrive, and it seemed to be by design. Upon arrival, the thing looks decent, BUT… the tension knob was so tight that it took pliers to get it loosened. After that, the camera mount was still so tight that I could barely turn it by hand. And the locking knob did nothing at all. Knob loose=hard to turn. Knob tight=same. Does not lock in place. Does not loosen. What a bad product. Stay away. And there are a few others that look like the same item with different names stamped on them too. I’m afraid to try one of them. Sheesh.

Great for a camera; Ok for a telescope
Using this on a iOptron SkyGuider (RA only) with an Explore Scientific ED80 APO so needed a smooth method to precisely adjust the scope azimuth. It works OK but not great for this purpose. A larger diameter base with 1 degree markings would be perfect. Would also prefer a longer 3/8′ mounting screw rather than the 1/4 to 3/8 adapter. That said, I’m still able to center an object in a 2.8 x 1.9 FOV pretty quickly. Bottom line it does what it’s designed for well and I’m probably pushing the limit.

Rotation is very tight
Intended Use: Recording high school sports with a full sized iPadI believe I purchased the wrong head, but with the light weight of an iPad, this head did not rotate. We had it mounted and loosened, but we had to physically grab the iPad to turn it as it was still very tight. It would unscrew from the tripod instead of turning. As a result our video was very shaky. If I was using heavier equipment (i.e. video camera), it might have worked. Seems really tight though, even with the adjustment all the way out.Solution: purchased a GM24 Fluid Head from Neewer which rotates very smoothly.

Pretty Good
Almost perfect. Wish the set screw was a little better. Some more awkward objects can be hard to tighten to the 1/4-20 stud because it starts to pan while assembling. Other than that minor inconvenience, it is smooth and nice to pan with.

Does not work.
Device does not work.Well built except it does not have stops at 15 degree increments, as advertised, but simply (smoothly) rotates 360 degrees. This is useless if you put it on a ball head that has (panoramic) rotation.

Does not make interval stops
The description says that it makes interval stops at 15 degree increments but it does not do that. The head just rotates freely without making any stops.

So far so good !
Bingo !! This one works. Unlike a previous Panoramic Panning Bases I purchased recently, this one was not stiff or did it freeze & lock on me during a shoot. Smooth panning action that does not require full turns of the adjusting knob to lock or unlock.
