    Clean sound but durability questionable

I was forced to give Apple Money because Samsung stopped selling their usb c to aux adapter and the only guy selling them still is asking for 22$….Way to go Samsung.Works great tho with Samsung phones that for some reason add white noise to any dac powered adapter. However the cable is really thin and i question if this thing would survive for long if not stored seperately.

    Small but mighty

This small but mighty USB-C to 3.5mm adapter might be the best Apple value currently available. This is able to power my Grado headphones with ease and the sound is as rich as a dedicated receiver. Note: Using Apple lossless music.

You’ll be surprised how many headphones this thing can fully power.

Apple took the 3.5mm jack from their phones, and to avoid a backlash they priced this excellent amp/DAC to keep everyone happy. A USB 3.0 A to C adapter will let you run it on a PC, and on the Android phones you need USBPlayerPro or Neutron to bypass the Android stack and use it at full power. It’s limit is 48khz, which is no big deal as FLAC 44.1khz/16 bit is the Sony Redbook standard and covers the full range of human hearing. Compared to onboard sound or a phone 3.5mm jack, it’s about twice as powerful just to give you a rough estimate. I’d encourage anyone to try one of these before doing a deep dive down the rabbit hole of audio equipment like digital audio players (DAP). A phone with a 5,000ma battery is highly recommended for full size headphone. Even with planar magnetic IEM’s it’s not bad though. Still a lot easier than carrying around a whole setup along with your phone and keeping both charged.

Sleek and compact adapter, but with a wire gauge that doesn’t inspire confidence

I have a drawer full of these USB-C to headphone adapters already, but I purchased this one to use with my Apple Earpods as it will work correctly with the in-line remote. Compared to my many other such adapters, this one is the most sleek and compact but the wire is also VERY thin. The plugs on both ends are made of a hard, shiny plastic rather than the soft-touch plastic that’s a bit more typical. Build quality overall seems fairly cheap. The DAC built into this device is fine to my ears and it supports 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sampling rates with bit depths of 16 or 24-bits per sample. This is consistent with other similar adapters I own.The thing about USB-C headphone adapters is that in general most of them will work on any phone or computer – whether you should buy one designed for Apple products or for Android depends not on which phone/tablet/computer it’s being used with but rather which standard of inline controls your headphones use. When I use headphones that are designed for apple products, the inline controls work fine whether connected to an Apple device, Android, Windows, or a game console. Likewise, when I use headphones that are marketed as being for Android, the audio works perfectly fine (both speakers and mic) but the inline volume controls do not. If your headphones have inline controls and are intended to be Android compatible, this adapter will get you audio but will not support your inline controls, so keep that in mind. Because of the inconsistency in compatibility with volume controls, this gets 3 stars in that particular category – it’s either going to work flawlessly or not at all depending on the headphones, so a score right in the middle seemed appropriate there.Overall, this is a perfectly acceptable adapter. The build quality and the robustness of materials don’t inspire confidence that it will last for years to come, but it does exactly what it is meant to, and if you have a set of headphones designed for Apple products, this is what you need to make their controls work, even on an Android. In fact, even if your Android has a headphone jack built-in, this MAY be worth picking up just to gain access to the volume controls that would otherwise be incompatibility.

Loves it. Works with iPhone 15 Plus with in-line volume control!

I love my Apple earphones with a 3.5 mm plug and I want to use it with my iPhone 15 Plus. I have tried 6 different third-party audio + charger adapters without success. None of them can do in-line volume control as they have advertised. I have to use the phone button or setting to adjust the volume instead. It is just a big disappointment. This $8 genuine Apple adapter is the only one that can do the in-line volume control right. Even though it does not have a charging function like the other combo adapters that I would like to have, I am still very happy with it. Good quality and great value. Highly recommended.

Seems well made, well priced – might turn out to be really good sound, too.

This has worked out well for me. Two things:First, my use case is somewhat unusual – happily I took a chance on this after updating my iMac to a system with the Apple Studio and Apple Studio Display. The Apple Studio is excellent, but I’ve placed it off on a corner of my workspace; though it comes with a 3.5mm jack it’s… inconvenient to access. The chance I took is whether I could use this USB-C adaptor from my display – thus placing the connection to my wired earbuds right at hand. And it works – I have a convenient 3.5mm connection from the display with this adaptor. I don’t have a USB-C iOS device yet, but might end up using this there as well.Second, I don’t have firsthand information on this, but I’ve read that Apple’s new USB-C earbuds have been very well-reviewed based on the quality of the DAC integrated into the connection. It seems likely that the same DAC was used here, meaning that the sound may well be unexpectedly good. At this price, worth a try if you have higher quality wired earbuds, and want to use them with a USB-C interface.

Serves it’s purpose, no noticeable change in audio quality.

I bought this to use for iPad, since it doesn’t have a headphone jack. As a primarily Android user, I’ll never understand why, but alas. It works great for it’s purpose. I’ve never noticed issues with sound quality and people I call and do meetings with have never noticed any issues with my microphone quality.Only thing I’ll say is I’m worried about how well it will hold up over a long period of time with frequent use, since I personally use it only on occasion. The small cord isn’t really well reinforced, and feels like it may start to crack at either the connection points or in the center.

Apple USB-C to Headphone Jack Adapter

I purchased a cheaper version and it did not have nearly the same quality than the apple one. I would definitely say stick to the basics, get the apple brand. The cheap off-brands wont deliver as good of a sound. I used it to connect my phone to my car and it does the job.

It has worked fine for me.

Whenever I see these adapter cables and they are not officlal Apple cables, there are always poor reviews, and I know people buy them because they cost less than an Apple cable even though they might look the same, but they don’t always work as well. This official Apple cable is replacing my Apple Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack cable now that I moved to an iPhone 15, which no longer has a Lightning connection and uses a USB-C connection instead. Works just like my previous Lightning cable. That’s what I hoped for when I bought it and I’m satisfied by it’s performance.

Great! cheap cost around $10.00, no missing features, mic sounds clear, I can use Garageband on iPad Pro with no latency and no noise in the signal, taking calls is flawless. Start, stop, rewind, forward, previous song, next song button commands all work, Dictation is perfect. I don’t need to buy new USB-C earbuds for iPad for the usb-C port. Good value for the money!

The Essential Adapter for Gaming on My M2 iPad Pro

I bought this product to play Call of Duty Mobile with my iPad Pro using my favorite gaming headset. Ever since Apple phased out the 3.5mm audio jack from their devices quite some time ago, adapters like this have become essential for users. In the case of the iPhone, you need also a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, so I also have a similar product for Lightning… Looking ahead to its expected release in September 2023, as Type-C ports are anticipated to be included in the iPhone 15, the demand for Type-C conversion cables might be more popular.Good Points:- I’ve been using this product for approximately a year, and it hasn’t shown any signs of wear and tear. It appears to be a durable and reliable product that will likely last a long time.- Although there are third-party alternatives available, Apple’s products still offer a higher level of quality.Areas for Improvement:- I believe the selling price could be reduced further. Products like this one should ideally be bundled with the iPad series in the boxes.- Apple has a history of introducing innovative and captivating designs, but this product is quite plain and doesn’t distinguish itself from similar designs offered by other companies. As a result, using this product doesn’t bring much excitement.- It would be great if the cable material could be upgraded to fabric, similar to the MacBook charging cable. Alternatively, making the cable slightly thicker would also be beneficial. The cable that comes with this product is quite thin, and it seems prone to damage if subjected to stress.

I bought this for my square card reader and it’s a must have. It’s very durable, nice looking, high quality, and hasn’t failed me at all. It’s only around $2-3 more than random generic ones on here so yes, I’d pay a little bit more for something from a reputable brand and manufacturer.

I bought this so that I could use my wired 3.5mm headphones on the new USB-C iPhone 15 Pro. It’s a little expensive for an adapter, but like all Apple products that’s kinda expected. I went with the Apple manufactured adapter as it’s about the same price as the non apple ones.Sound quality and build quality are good. I don’t notice any difference in the sound or volume of the headphones when connected to this.

Adds a missing headphone jack to your Apple ecosystem

Listen, some people invested in expensive headphones with a headphone connector. If I’m feeling quality-oriented, I have a few pairs of IEMs, headphones, and even a portable DAC. The truth is I usually listen to music, podcasts, and audiobooks through my AirPods. Still, sometimes I want to listen to some uncompressed, lossless audio, and my AirPods ain’t cutting it. That’s when I break out this little adapter. You plug in into your iPhone, iPad, or any USB-C port and start grooving. This dongle sounds incredible. It is basically the same as my $100 DAC for the most part.

Apple has made a great, inexpensive audiophile-ish Dongle-DAC… For Android!

Okay, let’s get some things out of the way first:If you don’t use a special music player app on Android like USB Audio Player Pro, HiBy Music, or Neutron Player, get ready for low volume. If you prefer a less balanced, bass-heavy sound with less definition, get a regular Samsung USB-C Headset Jack Adapter. With that being said, it’s time for the review!Equipment used for testing:-Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G (USB-C 3.2, USB On-The-Go)-Moondrop Aria-Status Audio CB-1-Tripowin TC-01-Soundcore Life Q30 (Wired mode, balanced EQ)I decided to try this adapter because I saw many people praising it, even though it’s not originally designed for Android. So, lo and behold:My first impression when I got the box was that the unit was nicely packaged. I confirmed when I unboxed the unit. Having the unit in my hands was quite bizarre, since the USB-C male port and the 3.5mm female jack feel quite nice, with glossy plastic. On the other hand, the cable itself feels flimsy and like it’ll break if I’m a little rough with the unit.Connecting it to my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G and without using any app, I get a good amount of volume, not enough for some, but okay enough to listen to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, or any other music streaming service you prefer in a nice, quiet environment. Again, go for the Samsung USB-C Headset Jack Adapter if you want to make your ears bleed. If you really want to make this adapter shine, use USB Audio Player Pro, HiBy Music, Neutron Music, or another Android music player app that bypasses Android’s sound source. It can get plenty loud with minimal distortion if you have some good earphones, earbuds, in-ear monitors, or headphones. You can also use 16/24bit and 44.1/48kHz (with USB Audio Player Pro you can get bit-perfect sound output as long as you have files with those bit rates and resolutions. Anything else will be resampled). The sound is quite clean and neutral/flat. Don’t expect a huge bass, but a tight, detailed one. The mids are upfront and you’ll be in a little heaven if you listen to some vocal-driven music. The high frequencies aren’t harsh or piercing. They do feel good enough without being super detailed. I’d say that the sound from this unit is definitely enjoyable; a little bit analytical but not bright, and you can definitely appreciate any music genre you throw at it.The instrument separation is very good, not amazing but very good. Imaging is quite okay, above your phone for sure. The soundstage feels not so wide, but it still feels a little open. There’s no perceptible hiss, which is something great, compared to the Samsung USB-C Headset Jack Adapter. The latter one has a quite noticeable background noise. And now, the reason I give it five stars: $8.28. That’s how much I paid for such a nice Dongle-DAC. There are other options out there, like the Xumee USB-C to 3.5 mm Adapter and the CX31993, but they’re around $13.00 and $16.00 respectively. For $9.00 approx., this is an easy recommendation for any music lover and starter audiophile who uses Android (especially if you listen to well-produced music).

    Needs volume up higher

Purchased this to use with a new Motorola Razr+ 2023 phone. I tried this adapter with 3 different wired headphones including Shure, XM/Sirius, and Apple. All of them required the phone volume control to be at least 75% for a normal playback level while in a quiet room with no other noise, that includes the Apple headphones. Also, the volume adjuster on the Apple headphones didn’t work with this, although I’m not sure if that’s an Apple/Android conflict issue. Overall, the adapter works, just have to turn the volume way up.

Must have for iPhone users that still like to plug in from time to time

Most of my headphones now a days are bluetooth, so I won’t be using this daily. However, I always like to keep it with me (I had the lightning adapter before this) just in case batteries die and I still need to use something. The value on this wasn’t bad IMO for an Apple branded product.
