never liked or used apple for decades until recently.
Well sounds like they where expecting a miracle tracking device or at least a cellular/GPS type tracker if that’s the scenario used to test it I just today, And I’ve tried many others tile, xyo, Samsung cellular tracker, and also i have a T-Mobile cell/GPS tracker, am now officially a true believer in the apple tag and this comes from one who has been an anti apple all apple no matter its purpose person for decades . Well they won I know have a iPhone 14 as well and asap ill be grabbing more tags for whatever i might or need to put them on. I have a very expensive electric bike I have done extensive work on for personal reasons well i always though i needed the Cell/GPS tracker if it was ever taken not an apple tag but I put both on it within less than an hour i found the cell tracker on the side of the road still tracking but not what i needed. The apple tag it still on it in fact drove across town following it today and pretty sure the guys he tried to sell it to either didn’t or got refunded because I’m pretty sure i talked to them with their bs threats on police which i said awesome since we were literally across the street from city hall and this is true I told him well you can call them back and try to get them to hurry because ide love to talk to them to i had already tried finding one by city hall but had no luck. Then this random guy who was a buyer or friend after i told him its still being tracked actually asked me “well hey where exactly is the tracker at on the bike” Well needless to say the clean version of my answer is no of your business at all it my tracker for my property why you need to know is stupid and proves you know who and what I’m looking for, he somewhere in his imagination really thought I would tell him where it was what a reject, he tried to cover it up with well I’m just trying to help but when I replied not so nicely and reminded him i never asked for his or his friends help and also where the officers were i didn’t have a day to sit hit because he was telling stories or had never call them anyways it becomes easy to tell or read people and their true intent as well as the actions maybe taken but probably just lied about to use as a threat but when you prove your knowledge of the law to be far beyond and how much more a cop would be helpful for you there’s a pause and a look at or thru you of disbelief that 1 I would make you eat your own teeth if you want to go that route I’m a 6’4 only about 265 now maybe little more but I am a 2 time D2 national champion x college football O line men pulling guard to in fact so it always fun to see how scared and sheer unbelief in my speed at my size or #2 that not one of there stupid and unreal threats of legal action or anything else especially when one claimed to just be a pest guy and might of been as he wasn’t trying to intimidate or anything really. Needless to say i believe they were buyers because all of a sudden he went back and left and once again my tag was on the move I should of had him at Costco but it wasn’t giving me the I was so close circle and direction with distance option like usual but now when i call the cops in the morning with the tag evidence and that it is now been back at his house where it started after leaving mine as well as the little bit of CELL/GPS data i can give them and oh yeah the clear of day VIDEO CAMERA FOOTAGE i have of the loser taking it from my back yard believe just start with that route because what i did has been a wasted of time since my dad drove I would o had his ass but whatever. Definately the tracker you have been looking for if like me you have tried all others and got lame response this guided me from down the street to my house thru my house and right to the keys it was on A++++ in my book and only choice pluse they make holders or hiders for everything to go everywhere and some thing i would recomend if not but for some one i know that needed on just to show how great they truly work anyone saying otherwise lives in the middle of no where with no other apple device around or is expecting it to do things almost no true tracker can and thats fact cause i have tested the out to and they are the top of the line no bs best you will find and i had the old samsung cell tracker that was good to but had no battery life really.

Great for “Mommy Brain”
Since having my first child, I have been losing important accessories left and right (which was extra frustrating, since I never used to lose things like that). I bought two of these to help me keep track of my wallet and keys. They have come in extremely handy numerous times, especially since I work in a school, and I often have to loan my keys to other staff members and then track them down. I love the feature that allows me to play the “hot and cold” game to find my stuff. Whenever I’m not within hearing-distance of my items, I just use the Find Me feature and can walk around until it figures out where my things are. I definitely recommend for moms (or anyone that habitually loses things)!!

Great for people who misplace stuff
I lose things all the time; my keys, wallet, and earbuds are always hidden away somewhere I put them, but cant remember where. Using the FindMy app, I can find the location of all these items in one place. The ability to play a sound to locate the tag as well as directional locating at close distance is great. Sometimes I know the room the item is in, but I don’t know where exactly. An arrow will pop up on my phones screen when I click to locate, and it will tell me the exact distance and direction. Boom, found! These are definitely worth the money, and the fact that anyone else with an apple device will help it to be found if you leave it in a public location makes it essentially as good as being GPS even though it’s Bluetooth only.

So much better than Tile tags… but it has its weaknesses as well
A few years back we tried “Tile” tags. They were a complete fail as they required someone to be nearby with the Tile app. With apprehension we bought a few of these Apple tags and they seems to be much more reliable. They do work to help find your stuff. The one downside of these tags is that the sound emission is MUCH TOO SOFT. Inside a case, even standing next to it the tag is hard to hear. So if you’re looking for something even around the house you might need to use the visual guide on the app to find your stuff. The app also tells you when you’ve left your things behind (in other words also boosted). In addition to the tags being too soft they also tell people who have the app that they have a tag following them. This makes it too easy to have the thieves alerted to search for the tags in stolen items and then ditch them. On one hand it protects people from stalking, but OTOH it minimizes the effectiveness in the event of being in a stolen item.

This is a big help finding lost items
I bought the Air Tag along with a wallet with a spot made to it. Somehow my wallet fell out of my pocket while in a Lyft car. The Air Tag showed me exactly where the tag was as it moved around town. This information was helpful when contacting Lyft to get it back. The Air also excels at the more mundane task of finding my keys when I’ve forgotten where I put them. I paired the Air Tag with my Apple iPhone and after labeling it as house key tag, my phone now tells me when I’m more than 25 feet from it while I’m away from home. So if it ever falls out of my pocket again, I’ll know before I leave it behind.

Does it’s job
It’s an Apple airtag, I use it for my pets, it works great especially when you’re trying to locate cats that hide a lot in your house, outdoor cats though??? Took me 3 days to find my cat that went missing. But I wouldn’t have found him if it wasn’t for the airtag. It doesn’t do a fantastic job but it is better than nothing. When searching for your item you have to be in close proximity for it to ring and it doesn’t update the location constantly sometimes it can take several hours.Id still buy again because it’s small and my cats don’t seem to mind the airtag

On my fur baby
I have this on my pup! He’s an escape artist!!! So if and when he’s with my husband I checked it out to see how it functions anytime my pup passed someone with an iPhone his location is sent to me while I’m using the app! So if he’s out in my neighborhood and he runs in someone’s yard and they have an iPhone on in their house it will send me that location!!! It’s better than nothing no charging for one year! I just wish the beeping noise when I activate it was a bit louder it’s quite faint!!! Good product for 28$

Has already saved me a couple grand
Put it on my son’s expensive recurve bow case. Someone stole it from his car, and he called us in a panic. We looked it up, and it was a block from his house. He walked over there with his roommate, saw two guys and asked them if they’d seen a case. “Yeah, we saw someone throw it in the dumpster, so we picked it up. It’s in our car.” Boom!We also use it on our luggage. It’s great when your bag hasn’t shown up on the carousel: you look at the Find My app, and there it is.

Lifesaver, exactly as advertised
This product was such a relief!! My Nana has a remote for her hearing aids. She used to lose them and we would have to spend days looking for the special remote. My poor Nana was always stressed and worried about losing the remoteNOT ANYMORE!! I purchased her the air tag and got a Keychain case for it and it works PERFECTLY! Absolutely worth the money. It was SO EASY to set up with her iphone. Now she always knows where her remote is. Also if needed we can make the air tag “chirp” (i.e. make noise) so others can easily locate it.Seriously if there is anything you lose alot; you Absolutely should consider the air tag. Definitely takes away the stress.

Great for people who tend to lose stuff
My boyfriend, I love him, but he forgets where he sets stuff all the time. I bought this for him for his backpack because he tends to misplace that a lot and he hasn’t lost it since (well kind of). He once left his backpack in my car and since my phone didn’t recognize the airtag, my phone actually alerted me that an unfamiliar airtag was in my car (my phone thought a random stranger put an airtag in my car to follow me). That was a super cool safety feature! So this gadget is great for finding lost items and is a great safety feature!

Compact and Powerful, No More Lost Items – Apple AirTag is a Must-Have!
I recently purchased an Apple AirTag, and this small tracker has brought great convenience to my daily life. Firstly, the design of the AirTag is very sleek and compact, making it easy to attach to a keyring or place inside wallets, backpacks, and other items. The setup process for the AirTag was incredibly simple and straightforward. It quickly paired with my iPhone just by bringing it close, showcasing the excellence of Apple’s ecosystem. Once set up, locating the AirTag-attached items through the ‘Find My’ app is effortless. What impressed me the most is the AirTag’s precise tracking capability. Whether I’m at home or out and about, whenever I need to locate a tagged item, it provides accurate location information. This is especially remarkable in enclosed spaces, like rooms or offices. In addition, the battery life of the AirTag is exceptionally long, meaning I don’t have to worry about frequent replacements. Its durability and water resistance are also superior compared to other tracking devices.Overall, the Apple AirTag is an outstanding tracking device, perfect for those who often forget where they’ve placed their personal belongings. Its technology, design, and practicality are impressive. Although the price might be slightly higher than other trackers on the market, considering the convenience it offers and its seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, I believe it’s a worthwhile investment.

Works Well if you have an iPhone
I purchased this to put in my car in case it got stolen. Living in an area with lots of car theft it gives some extra comfort. I have an Android phone while my wife has an iPhone. There was a point where it would start beeping every time my car moved. It was difficult to get my wife’s phone long enough to figure out the issue so I got frustrated. I sold it to a co-worker who has an iPhone. My co-worker LOVES it. When she leaves her car the phone tells her exactly where the car is. She has been telling everyone at work how much she enjoys it.

Here are the Pros and Cons
As someone who is prone to misplacing my belongings, I was eager to try the Apple AirTag to help keep track of my things. I just set one up for my keys and have been testing it out. Here are the pros and cons I’ve noticed so far:Pros:- Super easy, quick setup. Just tap it to my iPhone and I was good to go.- The Find My app integration makes finding lost items incredibly simple. I just open the app and can see the AirTag’s location.- The precision tracking is amazing. It pinpoints my keys down to the exact part of the house they are in.- Loud sound helps you locate items when you are nearby. I can make my keys chime which is handy.- Apple quality and design. It feels very sturdy and has a nice minimal look.Cons:- No built-in keychain ring or lanyard attachment. You need an accessory for that which is an added cost.- Short Bluetooth range. It only works when pretty close to my phone.- Apple ecosystem lock-in. Key functionality requires Apple devices/software. Not great for Android users.- On the pricey side. More affordable trackers exist. For Apple users who value precise tracking, the AirTag is a great device that takes finding lost items to the next level. The straightforward operation and integration with my iPhone makes it worth the premium price in my opinion. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can easily locate misplaced belongings. Hope this review helped!

Essential for indoor/outdoor cats
We have inside cats but they have a cat door & two of them use the door to go outside. We live on 10 acres and although they stay close to home, they usually don’t go far. During the summer months, they might spend more time outside and it’s essential for me to track them on a moment’s notice. There are other tracking devices specifically made for furkids but this is a solid, cheap & reliable solution. It’s light weight & fits perfect in the collars designed for Apple tags. No special app beyond the ‘Find My’ app already on your iPhone. No subscription fees. Cheap but reliable alternative. Quick shipping & delivery from the vendor.

Works great for our 2 indoor/outdoor cats
I have an AirTag on 2 of our cats that insist on going in and out no matter how hard we try to make them inside cats. One of them doesn’t leave the yard but can hide well within the house so it really comes in handy for that. Our other one tends to wander the neighborhood a bit. I was able to place them on the AirTag collars I had and they paired well with my iPhone 14 Pro. I know they don’t work as well as GPS trackers, but since our wanderer doesn’t really go too far, these actually do a great job. I almost always know where he is and I can tell if he’s at the door wanting back in without even having to look out the window. As far as non-cat related use, I’m so happy with their performance that I plan on getting a few more for when we travel and to put on our keys, wallets, etc.

Fantastic for tracking a car shipped from Hawaii to TX. Instructions & apple support lame
OK, so, I read about the airtag online and spoke with an apple product support person because due to hacking (yes, on an iphone, remotely, not linked to any pfishing via any text or email), I DO NOT use wifi on my iphone unless I am in an apple store or in my mobile services store. I ONLY use cellular service on my iphone to limit hacking into personal wifi or wifi of friends (when I was hacked EVERYTHING on the wifi was hacked, including all devices). Reading online and discussing with apple support, made me believe that I would have to use wifi on my iphone in order to use the airtag. The instructions online were awful. The 3 different apple support people I spoke with were clueless and provided conflicting, different info. I almost returned the airtag. However, I decided that the cheap cost of it was worth at least trying it on something. Anyway, I opened the box and was committed to trying it. The instructions in the box are totally useless, but fortunately the airtag is ez to plug and play without the poor instructions and wrong info from apple support and online. The tag has been awesome and fun to watch the progress of my car. I also was able to tell that the car sat around a full week in a parking lot away from the port in California where it had been shipped to from Oahu…. so I called the transport company to ask what the deal was. that lit a fire under the transport company and they started moving! anyway, it is super awesome and the price is good. I didn’t buy a case for it…. I just taped it inside my trunk, under the cover for the spare tire. EZ Peasy. I’ll definitely use it again. I’ve found a place where theres a package of 4 or 5 for super cheap…. a bit supply store that starts with a C and ends with a co, but bought through Amazon it is still a good buy, it is convenient, and I really don’t need 4 or 5 of these things.

One of the Best Locators
Traveled to a city I have never stayed in before. Me, my wife, and our dog. Stayed in a Pet Friendly Hotel. My wife said, “You stay with the dog, I am going to find carry-out for dinner”. I handed her the car keys, Air Tag attached. She took the car in search of dinner. A short time later, I noticed she forgot her smart phone. Our car, has no navigation without a phone in the car. Unfamiliar city, no navigation, no communication, what if she gets lost? Then I remembered the AirTag was with her. Picked up my iPhone and periodically checked her location on a map. She came back and said, “I was lost for a bit”. I told her I knew where the car was the whole trip. Great Southwestern salad for dinner too.

A great device for a pet
I got this for my cat. I have a fairly big house, and she tends to go into places where I simply cannot find her. There are times I get worried where she is, and this device helps me to locate her very easily. You do need to purchase a separate collar for the pet and then you can insert it there. It easily connects with your iphone. I would only hope that this device was good for distances over 30 feet, because anything over that and it doesn’t connect any more. Also, I would hope that this made different sounds, and louder sounds too. Overall, made to last, and it does the job well.

Keeps chiming out of the blue and on its own.
This product works pretty much exactly as described. However I’ve got it attached to my bike and every so often it just starts ringing, it’s very strange and I don’t understand what’s going on. Oddly it seems to happen every time I move my mountain bike, is there a motion detection on these tags? One day my cousin was at my house and his Samson phone popped up a warning that there was a apple tag nearby. It gave a 10 minute countdown and then he was able to ping the Apple tag on my mountain bike?! That actually made me kind of nervous because I have it installed quite well camouflaged, it’s an experience bike.

Love it.
My pet ran away about a week and a half ago because she was was overstimulated due to change of environment and I immediately bought this from Amazon. I’m already an avid Apple user just never owned an AirTag. I have one for my purse and one for little Lola. Now I have ease of mind because I can track her easily and don’t worry about her getting spooked. Really simple setup with my first AirTag. Just pull the tab while it’s next your phone and it’s really straightforward. She’s a little under ten pounds and it’s the perfect size for her little body. Any bigger though and it would be swallowing her. Love the Apple AirTag and so far have only good things to say about it.

Useful for so many things!
I bought these to help me find items that my elderly client hides (dementia patient): remotes, keys, even her purse. The time it saves in hunting for things is totally worth it! Not to mention the peace of mind if she wanders out of her room. She’s locatable easily.Batteries last about a year, easy to replace, and the app alerts you when it’s getting low.

Awesome
Using this in an intermediate Gunner Kennel. I actually put it in a factory molded hole before assembly of the kennel so you don’t even know it is there and could only get to it by disassembling it. Interested to see how the battery will last with it being mostly outdoors with a range of temperatures.

Get rid of your old tracker
I LOVE this AirTag! I used to use a tile to track my e-bike but its gps locations were unreliable. The AirTag was super easy to connect to my phone and it’s precise on where exactly it’s at at all times. PLUS there is no monthly fee which is a major bonus! If you need a gpa tracker, don’t hesitate to spend the money on this. It’s the cheapest most reliable tracker you’ll ever get!

Apple products always great!
I hesitated to get this AirTag as it is not chargeable, and I thought I needed to buy an expensive battery every time it ran out. However, I found out that I only needed a cheap, regular coin-size battery replacement. The connection was fast, and I added it to my Apple devices and can see it on the “Find My” app on my iPhone and Mac. The play sound starts low and gets louder. I usually have little or no complaints about Apple products. I will keep updating my review if I experience something different.

Cat tracking
The beeping is great: quiet but it works when close enough. Precise location is handy when it actually works (not a GPS, real-time tracker). I use this to track my cat when he escapes. It works within a 2-3 mile radius (I haven’t tested further distance). The location updates periodically, just have to be patient. I know it’s hard with your fur babies, but remember to stay calm and breath. By the time I reached the location I was given, my cat was already somewhere else. But at least that means he’s 1. Alive, and 2. Not stolen. If you want a real-time GPS tracker, this isn’t for you. Another positive is that there is no monthly subscription.

A tiny tracker with a big impact on peace of mind
The Apple AirTag is a small, lightweight device that can be attached to virtually anything you don’t want to lose. Once attached, the AirTag can be tracked using the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The Find My app will show you the AirTag’s current location on a map, and you can also play a sound to help you find it if it’s nearby. The AirTag is incredibly accurate, thanks to Apple’s vast network of Find My-enabled devices. If your AirTag is lost, any Find My-enabled device that comes within range of it will anonymously report its location to iCloud. This means that even if you’re not sure where your AirTag is, there’s a good chance that someone else can help you find it.The AirTag is also very secure. Apple has designed the AirTag with a number of privacy features in mind. For example, the AirTag’s location is never stored on the AirTag itself, and it only transmits its location when it’s within range of a Find My-enabled device. This means that there’s no way for anyone to track your AirTag without your knowledge.Overall, the Apple AirTag is a great way to keep track of your belongings. It’s accurate, secure, and easy to use. If you’re looking for a way to reduce the stress of losing things, the AirTag is a great option.Pros:Incredibly accurate trackingSecure designEasy to useCons:Requires an iPhone or iPad to useCan be a bit pricey

Helped me with my travel needs
I used this in my internantional journey to tag my baggage. It did show me accurate info on the bag coordinates at a point in time.I would recommend this, if you have to tag your imp stuff like keys, wallet etc. Or if you are interested in tacking baggage, sometimes the baggages are lost in transit. This device can help with that mystery!

Works well
purchased this to go on my dogs collar after he ran away when we were on vacation. Ironically he got out when we were home and thank goodness I had this on him. He was on our street still but was able to track him quickly to find his location

It Really Works
I have two of these, one for my car, the second one for my luggage. I was tracking the moving truck for my interstate move and the AirTag showed its location the entire way (not real time though). The truck driver went home for the weekend and the AirTag showed the lack of movement. Kind of fun.

Perfect
I bought this so I could keep track of my dog. You do have to have an iPhone near by to be able to track it but it gives me peace of mind knowing that if someone finds her or is close by, I can receive an update.

Apple always does a great job
Plain and simple just like every other Apple product, they killed this! There’s not much to review here but if you don’t have an air tag / never owned one I HIGHLY suggest getting one. They last a very very long time and are extremely easy to track.

Must have for traveling
So I’ve always had issues with my luggage getting lost. I tried this after seeing people on social media track their items. It now brings me some peace to know exactly where my item is and I don’t have to worry about it dying as it always on.

A Must Have For Tracking Luggage!
I bought a couple of AirTags for my trip to Europe. I had to check my luggage and change planes, and I wanted to make sure that my luggage followed me and didn’t go on a vacation on their own. The AirTags made it easy to keep track and I cannot recommend them enough!

Great trackable item
This tag works for its main purpose. It tells you where’s the item at real times. It tells you everything about the item updates. Easy to trace at all times if necessary. I recommend this item if you really want to track your property. Hope this helps!

Air Tags can track Vehicles
I had 2 Air Tags…One didn’t track but a mile. The it disappeared. The one I just bought tracked to resolution. It didn’t track the path but it did ping several hits and it’s final destination which was about 30 miles away. I am using them to track motorcycles. I’m satisfied. Harleys are not cheap. I feel more at ease, all my stress melted away.

Super Cool, Great for Tracking Important Items!!
I travel quite a bit and the reason that i bought the AirTag is because a lot of my friends who also travel had recommended it for keeping tracking of your luggage throughout transit and also if unfortunately you were to lose a bag and the airline could not find it. It works fantastic for my traveling purposes but its worth mentioning that you could use it pretty much with any type of important item due to its size and functionality. Setting it up and connecting it to “Find My” App on the phone is incredibly simple, it literally takes a minute to connect it.After you set it up you can name it accordingly so that way if you have multiple AirTags then you can organize them accordingly. There are different notifications options you can choose, pinging the AirTag to make a sound if you are near it, direct you to the item if you are near it and enabling “lost mode” as well. I’ve been using it for months and the battery is still going strong.I put a few different pictures above and also put it next to starburst so you can see a size comparison and just how compact it is. Would highly recommend.

Solid Company with Great Products
Great little product to use to keep track of things you might misplace or are stolen. Purchased along with a silicon sleeve to protect the device. Looks and feels well made and only time will tell how it holds up. Did not rate the battery life or tech support on this product because 1. do not know how long the battery will last; 2. have not had a reason to call tech support. Still, very nice and compact tracking tag.

Much needed invention. Could save you lots of time and money in the long run!
I was skeptical at first but once I tried it myself I was very surprised. Definitely room for lots of improvement/ accuracy but still surprised me. I expected lots of connection issues like their other tracking programs like find my AirPods but it connects very easily & hasn’t given me any connection issues. I definitely think it can alert you louder. It makes noises once in a while when you touch it but still nice. Has a feature that lets you see what direction & how many ft away it is by following it which is my favorite thing about the AirTag. I think it’s a must have for wallets & keys. It has lots of potential to save you a lot of money and headaches

Daily and travel MUST
I’ve purchased several for my keys, wallet, and luggage and even if you only use it a couple times it is worth it. My last trip to the UK, my connecting flight from Edinburgh to London was delayed and nearly made me miss my connecting flight back to the states. When i landed, I found that my luggage still showed it was in London Heathrow airport. Although it was disappointing to know my suitcase was left behind, I at least knew where it was. The peace of mind these little things offer are worth it. The battery is changed out easily (check iphone find my app for instructions) with a CR2032 battery. They last long enough but since it is a button shape, you may need an accessory if you want to hang it on anything like a keychain or suitcase or even tv remote.

I never worry about my wallets whereabouts anymore
I’m the kind of person that loses things easily. Not even exaggerating. I’ve had to replace so many IDs and debit cards it’s not even funny. I finally have in and bought one of these last month and my life has been so much easier. I’m never panicking about if my wallets in my car or in a jacket somewhere in my closet. This will even tell you if you’ve left your item behind somewhere.

Fireproof ???
I’ll make this review very simple…Last week my truck burned to the ground and was towed to a wrecking yard…there was an AirTag in it. Later that night, I’m looking at my AirTag statuses…I have a few. I see the one in my burned truck is showing its location. The next day, I go to the yard and spend 15 minutes digging through ash and find my AirTag perfectly functional.I definitely recommend Apple AirTags.

The smart tag choice for iPhone users
The media could not be loaded.
*Note- Video shows the sound the Airtag makes when you select ‘Play Sound’ from your iPhone*Airtags are Apple’s entry in the smart tag market; an accessory to help locate devices you might lose. Tile and Samsung have similar products, but the big advantage that Airtags have over other smart tag devices is the connection to the FindMy network, which allows any nearby Apple devices to help locate your Airtag. This is a big deal for iPhone users. So the idea is, you attach the Airtag to something like your keys for example, and then if you lose your keys you can find them in three ways: you can use your phone to make the Airtag beep, you can use Precision Finding to have your phone point you to where the Airtag is, or if it is really far away, it will use the FindMy network to locate the Airtag based on signals received from other iPhone users that are near your Airtag. Here are my thoughts so far:PROS:SETUP: Setup for these Airtags is incredibly easy. Just pull the tab off of the battery shield, hold the Airtag near your iPhone, and it will be detected and prompt you to name the Airtag. Then you associate it with your Apple account, and you’re done.NETWORK: This is the biggest advantage Apple has, because being connected to the FindMy network increases the odds that there will be someone nearby your device if you lose it. Tile uses their mesh network to help you find lost devices, but there are nowhere near as many Tile app users as there are Apple users on the FindMy network. For iPhone users, this means you are much more likely to find a lost Airtag than a lost Tile.PRECISION FINDING: (This feature requires an iPhone 11 or 12) If you are within about 30 feet, you can use the Precision Finding option that points you in the direction of the Airtag from your phone, telling you about how far away it is and what direction it is in. This is super useful around the house to find a nearby Airtag.NFC TAG: You can set a phone number and message for anyone that might find your Airtag, so even Android users can scan the Airtag with NFC, and get that information about who it belongs to, so they can contact you to return it. Apple users can also report a found device through the FindyMy network.IP67 WATERPROOF: IP67 means the unit can be dropped into a body of water up to a meter deep, for up to half an hour. I haven’t tested this out, but it is nice to know that the Airtags have this protection.CONS:DURABILITY: The Airtag seems to scratch pretty easily on the metal side. Even within 24 hours of test use, the metal side already has a few scratches on it. This might not be a big deal if it is just cosmetic damage, hopefully it won’t affect the device’s functionality in the long run, but I still would’ve rather had it be just plastic on both sides to avoid these scratches.NO LOCATE PHONE OPTION: Having used Tile devices for years, I have found it to be super useful to be able to have two-way location ability; being able to push a button on the Tile device to locate my phone in case I misplace it. You can’t do that with the Airtags.NO KEY RING LOOP: Users of Tile or Samsung Smart Tags are probably accustomed to being able to attach their smart tag devices directly to a key chain via a built in small loop, without having to buy another accessory. These Airtags don’t have a loop, and you have to buy an accessory, which Apple currently sells for about $35. There are less expensive options from 3rd party vendors like Belkin for around $12, but still I was a little bit annoyed to have to spend more money to attach the Airtag to a keychain.OVERALL:So, at first I wanted to compare these Airtags to the other smart tag devices from Tile and Samsung. But actually, if you primarily use an iPhone, there really isn’t much of a choice. The fact that these are connected to the FindMy network, the ease of setup, and the Precision Finding option for newer iPhones, makes it hard to chose anything else. Again, I personally love Tile’s ability to also locate my phone from my keys, but if you mainly use an iPhone, then technically you have the FindMy network to try to locate your phone anyway. So in summary, most Android users will probably stick with Tile, Samsung S20/21 users should try Samsung SmartTags because the AR find is pretty cool and the smart device integration is nice, but all iPhone users should go with Airtags. Hopefully they will add new features in the future.*Pictures show Airtag next to a quarter for size reference, and then ‘connect’ screen that pops up when you put Airtag near your phone for the first time*

So glad I bought this!
The very first time I used this the airline lost my luggage. It went on a few extra flights and I was finally reunited about 24 hours later. I could see where it was all along and knew it would not be there before I even reached baggage claim. The airline would tell me it was out for delivery when I could see it was sitting at the airport. To know where it was in the absence of information from the airline was a big relief and definitely help us reunite eventually! I wouldn’t check a bag again without one!
