Fire TV is Fire!
50″ smart TV, 4k model. Love it! Picture quality is great. I’m used to the Fire TV interface because we have a Fire Stick on another TV. Essentially the same thing. Old TV shows look like they were recorded recently because of the quality. They look like they were ‘video taped before a live audience’. You can see the pores on the actors faces. Not sure if that’s a good thing though. ;-)The one drawback, and it has more to do with the 4k quality and not the TV itself, is that shows like Modern Family and Law & Order: SVU, with the shaky single-camera viewpoint, is somewhat nauseating. The quality is so sharp, and the motion is so fluid, you actually feel a little dizzy while watching. Just an observation. As far as the TV goes, great purchase!

Great picture
I love the picture and ease of use. I don’t necessarily need the Alexa and microphones, but a good plus. I only wish I got the 65″ insread of the 55″…but for under $400 at the time I couldn’t pass it up.

love it!
The picture on this tv is outstanding. I am very impressed with it. My teenagers were able to set it up completely on their own in a matter of minutes, just in time to watch the football game. We’ve never had a tv this size as I always thought it was ridiculous to have such a large tv. But now I am a believer. It is big enough that no matter where you sit in the living room, you can see the tv perfectly as if you were at the theater.

So far, so good
When I saw this 55″ TV on Prime Day sale for $299, hands-free with Alexa, and with no-interest payments over 24 months, I just jumped on it. I’ve spent almost that much over time replacing lost remotes! I didn’t realize how big this TV is, so I almost cancelled the order…but I’m glad I didn’t. I’ve got it sitting on one of those sturdier metal and plastic folding tables (like a card table but rectangular), and I’ve plugged my Mac Mini into one of the HDMI ports so I can also use it as a computer monitor. What a difference! I can have all kinds of things I need at any given time open and placed around on the screen (see photo), and because I work in my recliner that’s a good distance from the TV, I can read everything very well and get to all my open windows super-fast. Then, at night, when I’m ready to watch TV, I can sit back on the daybed that’s on the opposite wall and watch it all on the big screen. My 2014 LG soundbar works with it, but it’s only got the optical port cable and cannot be controlled with Alexa. One of the Fire TV tech guys very patiently told me what I need to get if I want to upgrade my sound setup, and I went on and ordered one of the Echo Dots on sale for 19.99 because I couldn’t find the one I bought before. I’ll probably get a new soundbar at some point but, for now, I can certainly watch TV and listen to music using the one I have. But right now, I have to have the remote to control things that Alexa cannot control, and I keep it in a remote wrangler tied to my daybed (where I also sleep). I thought at first that the TV was just turning itself on by itself in the middle of the night, but then I realized that either I or one of my dogs was flopping over onto the remote, turning it on. That’s a temporary issue because once I have an Alexa-compatible sound system set up for it, I can hang the remote on the wall and forget about it.I’ve read a number of reviews of the Fire Omni TV series, and they are shown to be on the lower end, picture-wise. If I had wanted a super-duper knock-your-socks-off viewing experience for MSNBC, which is what I watch more than anything else on the TV, I would have to have spent five times as much, and why would anyone do that? Well, if you’re really into the primo video experience and have the bucks, I guess you might…but this TV is perfect for me. The #1 selling point for me, other than the rock-bottom sale price, is the fact that I can control pretty much everything with my voice.I did knock off a star for one reason and one reason only: In the Inputs setup, you can specify what type of product you have on a particular HDMI port. Soundbar, gaming console, etc., but there is no selection for “Computer.” I want to be able to say “Alexa, open my computer.” Now I have to say “Alexa, open H D M I 1.” Cumbersome. I hope Amazon will add the Computer input with a future software update.

Great picture, audio could use a little tlc
I bought this tv to replace the smaller tv in the bedroom and the picture is probably the most clear picture of any tv in my house. However, the audio isn’t exactly the best. It reminds me of riding in my dad’s old 96 Toyota listening to the muffled music of the old school speakers. I’ve tried different settings and got it a little more up to date sounding, but not up to my preference. Which is personal preference. Some people may not even notice it. The Alexa integration is amazing. I have the Alexa thermostat and got hot while sleeping the other night and instead of waking from my slumber to open my phone and having my retinas burned from my phone screen I just said “Alexa turn the thermostat down 2 degrees” and I heard her say “okay” and back to sleep I went. Overall I would definitely recommend this tv. For the price, I honestly don’t think it can be beat.

Great TV with an awesome payment plan.
This is a good tv for the price range. The payment plan made this hard to pass up. A 75” smart TV for $35/m no strings attached is a pretty cool deal. It’s like layaway but not having to wait for your item. The first TV I received was damaged (crack in the screen underneath that wasn’t noticeable until plugged in). This seemed to be a factory defect as the box was not damaged and the delivery guys did a great job delivering. Contacting Amazon for a replacement was a little difficult and took forever to finally get to someone on the phone, but once I did they made it right immediately. They set up delivery for a replacement 2 days later and told me they would pick up the damaged TV the following day. The second TV arrived with no issues and again as I said before, this is an excellent TV for the price and deal. Unfortunately, the original damaged TV is still sitting in my living room waiting for Amazon to reach out to me for pickup. They sent me an email saying they would call to set up a pickup, and still haven’t done so 3 weeks later. I’m hoping they reach out soon because it said I had to return in 30 days to not get charged for it. This is not my fault, so I hope they reach out to me soon, because I said earlier in this review, it is god awful trying to get someone in the phone in customer service at Amazon. You end up on the endless webpage click this button loop, and never actually get a person.

Love it!
I love everything about this TV except for the sound quality. Sounded a little ‘tinny’. Bought a sound bad to add to it and now I am completely satisfied. One of the best features to me is the ability to stabilize the volume! No longer do the commercials BLAST and make me turn down the volume. Same for movies! Another thing I love is a function where I can make the speech clearer. It’s pretty nice that I can walk into the room and say “Alexa, turn on the TV” too. Plus, turn it off, switch to satellite TV, turn up or down the volume, and tell Alexa what I want to watch!

Beautiful Clear picture
I purchased this for my husband who was reluctant to get a new tv. Before he opened it he asked me to return it because his old tv was fine. Once he saw the clear, vibrant picture, he was in love!! He’s invited everyone in to see the outstanding picture quality.Set up was fast and easy. The sound quality is amazing!! There is no need for an additional sound bar.We are extremely happy with this purchase and highly recommend.

Good tv but..
I really wish the remote had 2 mute buttons. One that totally silenced the tv and another one that you could set the volumn to like my car radio. I work from home and listen to a lot of live tv on my Fire tv but when the commercials come on they are so loud! If I totally mute them then I don’t know when the program I am listening to comes back on. Just a suggestion.

For the roughly $150 I paid it was a steel.
Decent enough for the money, it works well, picture is decent. But be forewarned being a Fire TV, it is heavily slanted toward all things Amazon. But I knew that was the case when I bought it and promptly turned the microphones (Alexa like) on it to off which is a nice feature that’s provided. Other than that the only complaint I have is I put this TV in my bedroom and mounted it on the wall at eye level while sitting up in bed; but the standby light is white and it gives off enough light to be a proud nightlight. Add the red dot to let you know you’ve turned the microphones off and it’s just too bright if you like a dark bedroom. Why it has to be lit when it’s not on is anybody’s guess. Per the manual the only way to completely turn it off is to unplug it. I’d put a piece of black tape over the light, but that is also where the infrared receiver for the remote is located.

Stopped Working in less than 1 year
I bought the TV exactly one year ago. It worked great in the beginning. The only thing I didn’t like was the brightness was a little low for my office. I rarely use the TV but like to on occasion. I tried to turn it on about a month ago and it just wouldn’t turn on. I checked everything and can’t get it working. No support from Amazon on this. Will not buy again or recommend to anyone. DO NOT BUY -SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE. MANY REVIEWS NOW ON AMAZON THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE!Edit. Amazon reached out after my last review and went through some trouble shooting steps. They determined the TV wasn’t working anymore and they decided to warranty the TV for me. I just received the new TV. The customer service has been great and they stood behind their product. Adjusting from a one star review to a 4 star review.

Disappointed initially… But good to go now
UPDATE: First TV delivered had the display issue but a replacement was delivered today and, thankfully, has no major display glitch.Setup again was very simple and automatically connected to my home Wi-Fi and Amazon account. I needed to download a few apps I already had on my old TV’s Fire stick but that’s not really noteworthy. Using this TV in a bedroom, so sound volume and quality is sufficient. Still need to adjust video settings to suit my taste so won’t speak to that. Again, this isn’t our main TV and it’s relatively inexpensive, so my expectations aren’t really that high anyway.Initial review: Was very disappointed as soon as I powered on the TV. The solid 2 inch wide strip from top to bottom of the screen appeared instantly. Was excited to upgrade the small TV in my bedroom to this one since it’s the perfect size and, from what I’ve read in other reviews, that it seamlessly sets itself up to existing Amazon accounts. It did come thru with easy set-up but this one will need to be returned and I’ll be back to my old TV until I can find another replacement. So much for a good deal during your Prime day sale, Amazon.

Love it. My GSD loves it too.
I love this TV. It’s excellent! It didn’t come broken at all and was easy to set up. I’d love having everything on Amazon. The only thing that’s missing is an Amazon fire phone reboot. My only question is why doesn’t the power cord fit all the way? It only goes in about halfway. I kind of smell a burning smell so I’m a little worried about that. I tried moving it around and going in the other way, and had the same issue

I love my new Amazon Alexa tv .
I love the size and picture quality. However the voice with Alexa does not work with Uverse cable from ATT. The antena tv channels and prime apps work well with alexa voice commands. The on and off commands work well with Alexa. I guess they did not include uverse Alexa voice commands with this TV because most people dont have it any more.

What an awesome tv!!!!!! Makes the 50 inch tv in our bedroom look so small… we might just need a larger tv for the bedroom now too!Alexa is hooked up, we don’t even have to use the remote, we just tell Alexa what channel we wanna watch!Very cool, especially for us 50 something year olds.. love it!!!!

High Speed
This TV is very high speed. Just just in a literal sense, but also, it’s just good. Super easy to unbox, and assemble. All the functions we’d come to know and love about FireStick integrated already (and definitely ran faster). Easy to get onto your network, import your amazon profile, and then it will integrate all your setting automatically. Definitely worth the price.

An average tv with some annoying issues.
The adage “You get what you pay for” is often accurate, and in this instance, it largely holds true. My rating was influenced primarily by the multitude of features that Amazon incorporates into their television. Advertisements: Despite purchasing a television, I am confronted with advertisements for various media each time I power it on. I find the presence of ads on my television to be undesirable. Input Challenges: The television is supposed to automatically switch to the X-box input when I turn it on, but it fails to do so. I am forced to switch it manually, which is not a significant issue. However, there is a noticeable lag when the input is switched. Audio Return Channel (ARC) with Surround Sound: I am confident that this is a problem specific to this television, as I did not encounter it with my previous set. The sound will occasionally cut out entirely. If I am watching a movie or a show and attempt to turn the sound back on, the image freezes while the audio continues to play. I am compelled to forcibly close and reopen the app to rectify the issue. Pre-installed Applications: The availability of storage space for new applications is severely limited due to the pre-installed applications that Amazon includes. Furthermore, these applications cannot be removed. These are just a few of the issues I have encountered with my Amazon Fire TV. The image quality is largely in line with expectations based on the specifications.Caution: The Dolby Vision feature does not function while playing games on the X-box. However, it does operate correctly when watching a show that supports Dolby Vision via a streaming app. This is somewhat disappointing.

Not happy with TV – Poor color and picture quality & no Alexa integration with Cox Cable Contour box
I’ve had the TV a month now, so my review comes with many hours of usage & frustration.(This review was updated 08/28/2022 and is at the end of this one)I bought the 55″ Omni during Prime Day because it was a great deal on Amazon’s new line of TV’s…but have been very disappointed with the picture quality and lack of Alexa integration with Cox Cable’s Contour box.As others have reported, the picture quality has a hazy/halo-like appearance, instead of having a crisp & sharp quality and colors. Darkened scenes, such as night or not well lit scenes are so dark, that you can’t see many things, details, or faces in the picture. I’ve spent umpteen hours resetting, adjusting, and fidgeting with the color & image controls with little improvement. It’s simply a terrible quality screen & image.I have a 12 year old LG 47″ flatscreen TV that still has a beautiful image & color quality, much better than this Omni. I bought the Omni to replace it, but have been very disappointed and annoyed by the image & color quality. As for the Alexa voice integration and Alexa TV remote, they work great & are very convenient for Prime Video…but they don’t work at all with Cox Cable’s Contour cable box, which is upsetting for a brand new TV. The odd thing is that the TV and remote identify & recognize Cox Cable and the Contour box as a device hooked to it…but Alexa won’t obey voice commands, such as, ‘Change to channel 52′. And the Alexa remote buttons won’t control channel changing, either, although I’ve paired the remote to the Contour box following the on-screen prompts, as well as re-doing the steps manually, according to Amazon’s instructions and support website. The only thing that works is the Mute button. I’ve asked Amazon support about this and they have no answers, not even wanting to admit that Alexa & Contour devices won’t talk to each other.Basically, the TV recognizes the Contour box, but won’t control it. I have a feeling that Amazon deliberately doesn’t want to integrate with Contour for their own reasons, but won’t admit it, and falsely represents Alexa’s compatibility and then wastes customers’ time trying to pretend that they don’t know about this when customers try to get support to resolve it. All they do is point you back to the same support website for pairing devices to the TV that you’ve already tried…then blame Cox when they can’t get rid of you, because you’re mad at spending all this money on a TV where Alexa only half-works. Cox’s Contour box has been around for awhile and there’s no excuse for this lack of functionality. In the end, I’m not happy or satisfied with this TV or Amazon and would not recommend it, unless you want something cheap to use in a guest room. I’m keeping the TV because I don’t want to spend more money on another brand right now, but I won’t be buying Amazon’s Omni TV in the future, as I replace two other TV’s in the home that are getting older.REVIEW UPDATED 08/28/2022To Amazon’s credit, their customer service dept. called & emailed me after reading this review and worked with me to understand the issues, but had no resolutions, so they offered to replace the TV under warranty. I agreed, but opted to pay the difference and upgrade to the 65″ Omni Fire TV, which I ordered. If you can spare the extra dollars, I strongly recommend purchasing the 65″ Omni. It is very superior to the 55″ Omni in terms of build & picture quality. Out of the box, the picture was phenomenal. The TV also has a thin, yet strong silver steel frame surrounding the edges of the TV, which make it very rigid & strong. Smaller Fire TV’s don’t have this steel frame, so they flex when lifting or moving them. The 65″ Omni is a huge & heavy TV that requires a lot of room and likely two people to lift & place it, if you’re a mere mortal and normal-sized human. I’m neither, so I was able to heft the TV by myself, from the ground to its new home on a stand several feet off the ground. As for the Alexa vs Cox Contour cable box issue, that magically resolved itself one night on the 65″ TV, either due to an update or some fiddling I did in the Fire TV’s settings…I don’t know what the magic bullet was, but Alexa can now communicate with Contour and change cable channels by voice command. On that note, I really enjoy using Alexa to voice-control the cable TV, Prime, volume, mute, etc. It’s so much more convenient than using remotes. But Amazon has to be careful about this technology, it’s future iterations, and how it’s used in the home, because it treads a fine line between convenience and invasion of privacy. If I ever feel their devices go too far and violate my privacy, or that I can’t trust Amazon, I’ll never use or buy their TV’s or devices again. In the end, I’m very happy with this 65″ Omni and glad I upgraded from the 55″ Omni. I’m also very happy with Amazon’s quick response to contact me about replacing the 55″ TV and not screwing around. If I could review their customer service separately, I would. But all I could do was call & email them to thank them for their good service to make me happy.Although I would like to change my original 2-star review to a 5-star review, because of Amazon’s outstanding customer service and how great the 65″ Fire TV is, I decided to leave it 2-stars, since the original review was for the 55″ TV, not the 65″. Amazon’s system won’t allow me to do a separate review of the 65″ TV I purchased…it keeps throwing me back to this review to update…so I’m stuck simply adding the updated info here.Hope this helps people who are on the fence about Fire TV’s and which size to get.

Replace came (1st one had a shatter screen) and this one is good
The first one arrived with a shattered screen (see the photo on this review) and the new one arrived w/o issue. I’ll speak about the return issues later in this post, but as they do not affect the quality of this TV I will leave that for later. The TV is heavier than I would have expected, and the first one that had the shattered screen felt very cheaply made. From the feel of the new one, the screen glass is part of the structural integrity of the entire TV, which seems like it would put too much stress on the glass to me, through the glass does appear to be laminated safety glass which does give it more strength, but it is still glass (I’m basing that on the pattern of the cracks from the first TV as some of them did not “show” on the surface and appeared to actually be “under” the top layer of glass). The picture quality is really good and I have not noticed any weakness in the blacks as I read in other web sites reviews (at least not after I adjusted the colors, contrast and brightness). I have also used it for gaming and have not noticed any issues with the “only” 60Hz refresh rate (I mean TV’s I grew up with were less than half that and I’m not sure the naked human eye can tell the difference between 60 and 120Hz).The sound is really weak in the bass range, but the optical output works mostly (it does not work with Netflix for some reason) with my ILive sound bar (which the remote is able to control) to add bass back in it sounds ok. I didn’t try other sound profiles, so maybe there are better ones.Alexa integration work well (this my first Alexa product so I have nothing else to compare it too) except that it doesn’t seem to know my TV has a sleep timer (it tells me it is not supported even though it’s right there in the menu). Not sure if that is a software or hardware issue.I agree with most of the 3rd party reviews I read, for the price you will be hard pressed to find a better price point, but it is more like an “entry level” piece of hardware for someone like me that this is my 1st 4K TV, and some video aficionados may find the feature set lacking, but so far everything I have used more than meets the needs of most people that just want a good TV for a good price.——————————-Returns issues below not reflected in review above——————Now for the issues returning the broken one. Amazon only gave me 2 options, pay for it myself or have UPS pick it up. Well I was not willing to pay the return shipping as that would probably be as much or more than I paid for the TV. UPS pickup is problematic because I have a job and can’t be around all day waiting for them to show up. I tried to call UPS and schedule or at least get an idea of when they would be there, but because I didn’t have the tracking number they would could not help me. I ended up having to take a day off work so I could sit home on day 3 to make sure the TV was sent back. Then Amazon didn’t think I returned the item, so I ended up getting charged again for the TV. I went back and forth with Amazon on this multiple times and in the end, I “guess” they refunded my money, but what they did was refund the $205 is gift cards I used, credited my credit card for the price I paid for the TV and then charged me full price for the TV (which was only $10 more than the sale price when I bought it but still), so I ended up paying full price for a TV that was on sale and I was not able to use $205 in gift cards to help pay for it. I would not have paid full price for this TV and yet that is what I ended up having to do. I won’t purchase any more “big ticket” items from Amazon, and will be limiting my purchases here in the future. It seems Amazon has decided to no longer care about the customer anymore. Time to find a better vendor to give my business to.

Set up our 65” Omni Fire TV last night. Process could not have gone smoother. Started right up, detected our network, updated software, connected to our Amazon account and off we went. Have not found the software buggy sluggish, loaded with adware or any of the other problems reported. Bright uniform clear picture, great sound. Very impressed given the price. Delivery went smoothly. Given the size of our TV unpacking and moving is a two person task. Not heavy at all just bulky.

Excellent for price
So far I’ve been extremely happy with this tv, the picture is fantastic. No issues watching anything on it so far. PS5 looks great on it. I have experienced the lag a couple times when switching apps or inputs, but it’s negligible. Would recommend this product for people look g to get a quality product without breaking the bank

Good While It worked — Updated
Update: I’m updating this review and increase to 4 stars because I was contacted by customer support and they helped me get the TV working again! I did not expect the call but this review prompted them to contact me. The customer support were very helpful, professional and friendly. I also did not know that the television has a 1 year warranty so until June of this year it is still covered.Everything about the television written below stands except the negative since it does work and apparently only needed to pair the remote and television again. I think when the cats knocked the plug out at one point the remote unpaired with the television and I just assumed the entire thing was broken. Customer support walked me through pairing again and all was good to go!It gets 4-stars only because the sound is so-so. Definitely recommend an external speaker system for better sound.Original Review:I received a free TV as an incentive from my internet provider so I hesitated writing this review. I figured I didn’t want to complain since it was free but than thought others who will buy might want to know.First, I’m not a TV watcher and haven’t owned a television in over 12 years. But I stream a lot and got tired of viewing on my computer or tablet so when the offer for a free TV came up I thought perfect chance to upgrade. It is a nice TV. The picture is great, slim, not heavy at all so easy to move around until I found the right place for it. I rent so unable to hang it up but it has legs that keep it stable and works for my needs.Set up was a breeze. All the various options for streaming easily available so basically just had to plug it in, add passwords and good to go. As I said, picture quality was good. Size was perfect for my needs. Sound not the greatest but not awful but I was able to easily connect it to my Bluetooth speakers which made a great improvement.I don’t use Alexa and turned off the ability for it to listen to conversations so can’t comment on the integration of that. I do like the option to turn it off so it is not listening all the time though! The bad was it lagged sometimes when trying to switch between apps. Otherwise I was quite happy with it and even considered getting a second for the bedroom until it just stopped working. No clue why. Thought at first the battery died on the remote but brand new batteries didn’t help. I tried plugging it into a different outlet in case that was the issue, nope. I can’t use the television at all anymore so now it’s just a big black screen taking up space until I throw it away.I got it in June of 2022 and it stopped working by early August 2022. It’s been nothing but collecting dust ever since and the only reason it isn’t in the garbage yet is because it isn’t in the way and I’m a procrastinator.I do not recommend it for this reason. It just stopped working, period, no reason, after two months. Look for a different television. I got it for free as I said which is also why I didn’t bother contacting anyone for help. Figured since it was free they just sent a refurbished item and it won’t be covered anyway. Oh well.Shame, it seemed like a good TV otherwise.

Wow……….
I read reviews for this TV and was a bit skeptical, but cautiously optimistic. I have now run Avatar and now Top Gun on this unit. Impressed is an understatement. For the money, this is the best picture out there BY FAR! I wish I could buy 4 more….. The picture posted does not reflect anywhere near the quality in person.

Great TV
The fact that an Amazon aka Fire TV doesn’t work with my Spectrum CATV supplier was annoying.I bought a 4K Roku to work around the issue. It’s a great TV with outstanding audio.

Great display, but slow internals
The media could not be loaded.
The TV itself looks amazing being HDR and 4k, I’ll give it that. But, using the Fire TV part of this TV is a pain. The TV is SO SLOW at random times. Doing something as simple as scrolling through the home menu will make the TV stutter and freeze up sometimes for up to 5 seconds. I have had this TV for about 1 year 3 months now and have been dealing with this issue since new.If Amazon somehow fixes the slow fire TV problem, this TV would literally be perfect. I love the built in Alexa where you don’t have to push the button on the remote, it means I didn’t need to buy another echo for my living room.Only other thing I want to mention is DO NOT use the ethernet port on the pack of the TV. You’re going to think I’m crazy for saying this but use WiFi. I did a lot of testing and I was getting consistently faster speeds and latency over WiFi than Ethernet with my WiFi 6 router.

Excellent Setup for Senior, that likes an enormous screen!!lol
I’ve been looking and I accidentally bought this UHD by mistake as I wanted the OLED I believe, but I have been blown away with the graphics, and even as a stand-alone TV with no Theatre setup, the sound is good and straightforward. Very impressed with how easy the setup is, and I added a new soundbar. Enjoy the delivery with White Gloves to any room in my house.AMazon did very good with the Television department!

Quality TV for the price
If you used fire sticks with other brands of TVs in the past like I have, you’ll love converting to a fire TV. I got this TV for a fantastic price, and I’m a big fan so far. Picture quality is good, and I haven’t had any buffering issues at all. The Alexa response feature is fantastic. On my other TV I use a fire cube from a couple years ago which is also a decent product, but I like having it built into the TV.

Frustrating TV
This is for the 55” OmniLikes:Price – it was $450 off, so half of what I paid for a TCL 2 years ago. Picture is about equal quality too.Bluetooth remote is great, although it doesn’t always work the volume of my Onkyo receiver. But it is comfortable to hold and the buttons are so much better than the Chromecast with Google TV’s buttons. The interface is very nice, and quite responsive.Alexa built in is nice, especially when I run my bedtime routine and it displays my calendar of upcoming events. But I do have issues with Alexa as well.I like being able to view the Ring cameras on it. I like that it will display reminders on the screen, but with 14 Echo devices in the house, I generally hear them anyway!I didn’t install many apps, and have loads of memory left. I was using a Chromecast with Google TV prior to this, and that stupid thing would run out of memory. No more Google Hardware for me!!Dislikes:Auto power off with no menu option to control it! (I found a way to fix this.)Settings menu is missing some important settings for power, hardware sleep/ auto power off, and is laid out rather strangely.Issues with losing sound via ARC when pausing or fast forwarding a show. Changed audio from Auto to Passthough and that has finally seemed to resolve this. I tried every setting before settling on Passthrough.*** Nothing seems to fix this!!! It is so annoying to skip ahead and then lose the sound! The only way to fix it is to reboot the TV. I found holding Select and Play together for about 8 seconds will force a reboot. This is going to make me dump this TV! Subtracting another star!!!The only other thing I try is using an optical cable connection from the tv to the receiver. If that fixes it, I’ll post another update. The remote has no customizable buttons for one touch access to YouTube TV. I will probably never use Disney + or Hulu, unless someone gives one of them to me free again. The remote seems to go to sleep or something and doesn’t always respond on the first button press.Volume and mute functions do not always work. Sometimes when pressing mute, I get the mute symbol on the screen, but the sound does not mute until a second press. Then when I want to unmute, the first press will bring the sound back, but the mute symbol remains on screen until I press mute again. Very annoying. The volume will almost always go down, but sometimes will not go up. If I press down, then up, it will go up just a little. I have to them grab my receiver’s remote to raise the volume. I don’t know if this is an ARC issue or remote issue or something to do with the IR flasher. I’m going to remove the IR and see what happens.I have problems with Alexa not being able to turn the TV on or off unless I talk right in front of it and it is the only echo device that responds. Otherwise I get the response about “I found more than one device with the name TV. Rename your devices or put then in a group …. “ This is crazy! There is only one device named TV! I have gone through all my devices multiple times! I created a “turn on the TV” routine to turn it on which generally works. The bedtime routine always works, although tonight, for the first time, it didn’t read the calendar events aloud. It highlighted each one like it was reading them though. It is just buggy. And Alexa is sometimes crazy. In Summary:I wouldn’t buy this at full price, and I will likely replace it next year if I can get a deal on a 65” OLED TV. But for just over a hundred bucks, it is a great deal.PS:I found a You Tube video that told how to modify and turn off the auto power off on a Fire Stick. It was pretty similar on the TV. You first have to allow ADB on the TV. I used a Chromebook with a tiny Android ABD app that allowed me to connect to the TV via its IP address and change the timeout to 0. I left my screensaver at 5 minutes, so now my photos will show for more than a few minutes. It took me about 20 minutes to research, find the app, and watch the important part of the video.I have let it go an hour, so I don’t know if it might auto eventually turn off, but I don’t think so. I can now go to the bathroom and come back and not have to restart my TV and apps. Hopefully a system update won’t undo this!

The picture quality of this TV is phenomenal compared to the Phillips TV this replaced after the other TV just died. Watched movies and some shows like I’m in a theater, the sharpness and definition is incredible.

Still going strong…
The picture quality is vibrant and lively, it doesn’t over saturate the bright colors, while also managing to not over darken the darker colors. The sound quality is great, at volume 14 you can hear the TV out in the hallway. With the stock remote everything works fine, I do think I’m going to be getting the Pro Remote though for the backlighting and remote finder. Handsfree Alexa is also fantastic! She understands and processes everything smooth and quick with no problem.

Nice affordable quality
I got this TV on prime day for such a good price. Sometimes when you buy discount items or something online you can’t test out, it can be a little iffy. This turned out to be way better than I thought. Picture/quality is super good and I love the Alexa feature. I’ve never had an Alexa before so I didn’t think I’d use it very much, but I almost abuse that feature now lol!! Highly recommend.

Unmatched vale for money and Alexa Brilliance
I recently invested in the 43″ Amazon Fire Omni Series Smart TV with 4K Display, and the value for money it offers is truly unbeatable. The stunning 4K visuals elevate my viewing experience, providing a level of clarity and vibrancy that usually comes with a much higher price tag. What truly seals the deal is the inclusion of Alexa assistance. This smart TV doesn’t just provide entertainment; it introduces a new level of convenience. With Alexa, I effortlessly control every aspect of the TV and the surroundings (lights etc.) using simple voice commands – from changing channels to launching apps – making it a standout in terms of usability. The seamless integration of Alexa is not just a luxury; it’s a necessity for anyone seeking a smarter and more efficient way to interact with their television. The fact that this feature comes at such an affordable price point makes the Amazon Fire Omni Series Smart TV a true gem in the world of home entertainment.Setting up the TV was a breeze, and the value-packed remote control ensures that I have both traditional and voice-controlled options at my disposal. In terms of functionality, ease of use, and the added bonus of Alexa, this TV represents unparalleled value for money. If you’re looking for a 4K Smart TV that not only delivers on visual quality but also includes the brilliance of Alexa assistance without breaking the bank, the Amazon Fire Omni Series Smart TV is the clear winner. It’s a smart investment that redefines what value for money truly means .

Simply Brilliant!
This monster of a tv is just amazing (75 inch). It has a fantastic picture. The tv really does just look amazing when watching a 4k show. Sound from the speakers is fantastic. The Alexa features work really well and easy to set up. I love being able to tell my tv to show me camera 1 and it pulls up my Blink camera on my front door. The smart functions and apps are fantastic and stream/flow very well. I had some major hiccups with the TV and Amazon customer service on this one but in the end Amazon knocked it out of the park and totally made it right. I do highly recommend this tv it works great and Amazon has it priced more then fare for everything it can do and the screen quality.

Absolutely amazing and smart TV
Received my 75inches Amazon fire omini TV today and my first impression is absolutely fantastic. Amazon has not shared much technical information like panel type is IPS or VA but since it supports enhanced dolby vision I assume hardware is high end and supports 12 bit depth at panel and graphics/processor level. I have watched so far SDR and HDR 4k contents and performance is absolutely amazing out of box settings. YouTube, Netflix, Amazon prime videos, Pluto tv, Peacock are my frequently used apps and all worked flawlessly. I will return to my updates after spending some more time with various types of contents, specially enhanced dolby vision.Update Oct 30th- watched squid games on Netflix in Dolby vision. When source contents are in DV mode this Tv senses the format automatically and DV logo appears on playback. I watched at night time keeping lights off in room and paid attention to all kinds of scenes that were being presented like day light, night times, indoor, outdoor etc. It scored absolutely 100% movie theater level presentation which I thought was never possible on LCD Tv. Color clarity to the extent no detail missed.Issues- yes I noticed 1 issue too in case Amazon technical team wants to know.1. Video playback turned absolutely black occasionally with just audio sound going on. This happened while watching episodes of LOST season 2, episodes 16 to 20. It happened consistently when commercials that interrupt automatically in between and absolutely after last commercial is complete, episodes playback resumes with only audio and no video. Exiting episode and returning back to resume play manually always resolved this issue. I assume it to be a software glitch either of IMDB TV or Amazon prime.Dec 5th update: Installed Ring door bell, Amazon thermostat, Myq garage door opener and camera. All added as a device on Alexa application. Found that Tv gets integrated to Ring door bell and thermostat automatically. Nothing impressed my wife so far but the ease of announcing to Fire Tv straight from bed even when TV is powered off “Alexa set thermostat to xx temperature “ . Just this one smart feature turned out to be biggest winner. Tv continues to perform fantastic so far!Update Feb 16th,2022 – purchased Amazon studio to enhance dolby atmos sound experience and it made amazing difference. I placed it in center below my bed, found this to be best for room full of sound. Connecting to TV was a piece of cake through Alexa application.Tv continues to perform well till date and seems like Amazon is pushing automated software updates too.Happy customer!

Great TV, very poor delivery service.
The TV is replacing my 15 year old 52″ that still works but just doesn’t have that good of a picture anymore. I read ALL of the reviews on here and was a little sketched out by how many issues some people were having. I decided to pull the trigger, especially for the $700 price point, and thought if it is junk then I’ll return it and go with something else. Although I have only had this thing for a couple days now, I am extremely impressed by the picture and the OS! I used an Amazon Fire TV Stick before with my old TV and as soon as I turned on the new TV, it loaded updates and then asked me if I wanted to transfer the files from my old Firestick to the new Fire TV. It then proceeded to bring all the apps over and saved me a lot of time dealing with this manually. I also paired it with an Echo Studio… this went seamlessly. I can’t speak for the audio of the TV alone, but when paired with the Echo Studio it is outstanding! I am hoping to add a second Echo Studio and a sub very soon! I also subscribe to YouTube TV and after getting the TV set up and running I upgraded to the YouTube TV 4k trial and that is where you really see what this TV is capable of as far as picture quality! I was not really impressed with how some older shows looked… my wife used the term “soap opera looking” and I think that is pretty spot on. I messed with the settings some but didn’t really find a good “fix”. I will continue to adjust and will update if I get that ironed out. One other thing is I noticed in some of the reviews people were complaining about losing the remote and not having a way to turn on the TV other than via Alexa. This TV actually does come with a power button next to the Alexa mic on/off switch.Overall I am very pleased with the TV. The 4 stars were due to the shipping fiasco. Look, I understand this time of year (between Thanksgiving and Christmas) is a hectic time for shipping items. When I ordered the TV it said the shipping would be in like 2-3 weeks… I was ok with that. But, the 3rd party that Amazon used was terrible. When I would check the tracking update, their website didn’t recognize the tracking number. Then I get an notification that the delivery must be scheduled so that an adult is there to sign for it upon arrival. That’s fine, but they didn’t call and schedule this until the day before delivery to my house. Since the tracking was so jacked up, I had very little time to arrange someone to be at my house between the 4 hour window they gave me! I was able to get someone there for the first couple of hours before I was able to take time off from work to relieve them. I sat there waiting through the entire delivery window and beyond. Finally, 2 hours after the end of the scheduled time they arrive in a smaller box truck. I lost a 1/2 day of work for nothing. The TV itself is great so far and I will update as I get more use from it, but if you are looking for a less expensive 75″ tv… this one is good choice.UPDATE 12/12/2022: After playing around with the settings I have been able to get rid of the “soap opera look”. Using the preset video settings, I was using the “Standard” movie setting. After changing that to “Natural” setting, it now looks more like a movie theater vs soap opera. I have also noticed that the dark/black scenes are not showing grit or grainy video like many mentioned in the reviews. In fact, it is a very solid black that I see and perhaps the grainy complaints are due to the source rather than the tv?The longer I’ve had this tv the more I am VERY pleased with it! It would be nice it if it were a 120Hz vs 60Hz since I do love to watch football and it does pixelate some… but the overall experience has been completely positive for me. I would absolutely recommend this tv to anyone! One last thing, I mounted the tv on my wall using a wall mount that was rated for 110lbs. The tv is said to be approximately 65lbs. The mount I used is an articulating mount for putting the tv in the corner of a room and having ability to pull it out and position it left/right. Although I had plenty of “room” left in the weight column, it does not let me sleep well at night worrying about waking to see my tv on the floor! I would suggest getting a mount rated for at least 150lbs if using the articulating type.UPDATE 12/19/2022: As I mentioned above, I have paired my fire tv with an Echo Studio speaker and it sounds outstanding! However, I had an issue with this pairing that I wanted to mention here in case anyone else has had this problem. When I turned on my tv the other morning it would not load up saying that there was no internet connection. After some quick troubleshooting I verified that the internet was working fine on another tv with a firestick in my house. So I tried to do a “restart” of the fire tv application but that didn’t help. I then decided to try to do a hard reboot by disconnecting the power to the tv and speaker. This didn’t work either. In fact, at this point my tv and the speaker were no longer paired (although it said they were in the alexa app on my phone). The speaker attempted to complete its “setup” after the power was turned back on, but couldn’t complete it. It actually got into a loop of “Attempting to connect to internet… preparing device… etc.” So I unplugged the speaker from power and tried to get my tv to work. After doing another reboot on the tv, it came up and was working fine. Once I applied power again to my speaker… my tv started dropping out again and finally lost internet connection. Bottom line is, the speaker was somehow interfering with the tv so I performed a factory reset on the speaker and went and cleared the pairing out of the alexa app on my phone and let everything do it setup again and I re-paired the tv and the speaker and it all is working happy again. I’ve seen some reviews mention the speaker and tv would lose their pairing so I hope this might help someone else. Still happy with both, but if this gets to be a regular occurrence… I will likely change my mind.UPDATE 21DEC2022: The TV will not work with the Echo Studio via Dolby ATMOS… at least mine don’t. After over an hour on the phone with tech support, the person on the other end told me this after we had tried to factory reset the ECHO Studio and the Fire TV. Hopefully a future OS update will make this work. I suppose it will still work using the fiber optic connection.FINAL UPDATE 06JAN2022: I actually found out what was causing the Echo Studio speakers to stop working with the Fire TV. After no real help through customer support and actually had a refund scheduled, I dug into the forums and finally found the answer. The Alexa app does not play nice with a VPN. I disabled the VPN and the system has been working flawlessly for 2 weeks. I hope they are able to sort this out with future software updates because I do want to use a VPN if possible. I’m very happy, NOW, with this TV and speaker system!

Great TV and great service
I was hunting for a new tv, and came across this during one of Amazons sales days. Got it for a great price, and it was delivered quickly.Because of some work issues, I wasn’t home much and wasn’t able to finally get it unpackaged and set up for just over a month. Once I got it set up, I realized the screen was cracked. When I looked at the app it said I had missed the return date by literally two days. I thought I was screwed. I called customer service, and they literally had a new tv on the way to me in about 10 minutes. Their customer service was outstanding. I got the new tv, and it came without issue.I had set up a return for the broken tv, and the vendor never contacted me, so about 2 months later Amazon sent an email saying they were going to charge me for the second tv because they didn’t get the first one back. I called customer service and they reached out to their shipping vendor to get the tv. It was picked up and I figured it was finally over.About a month later, I see that Amazon charged me for the second TV. Another call to customer service, luckily I had saved the email with the info for the return, and about 20 minutes later they told me the money would be refunded. Amazingly it was in my account the next day. All in all, I can’t complain about the service, and the tv is great too.

Wait about 2-3 years on this platform…
Bought this for a bedroom as my son took a smart tv to school with him. So we thought this was a perfect time to try this tv!First the good.Great price, and actually has a fantastic picture. It is so nice it almost forced me to keep this. They also gave a full refund quickly.**The bad. Their app store is horribly under stocked. This is amazon…this should have been done before launch. They don’t have an app for one of the biggest cable companies in the country (really?). Support told me that it could be side loaded, but they can’t tell me how. (What!?).Can’t connect a hard drive and watch downloads. External drives are not supported at this time. So you need to also connect a device/laptop to run an external ssd???? This is extremely oddMine couldn’t scan any cable channels. The Alexa light stays on nearly constantly. Even if you turn it off.. and if you do, you also have a red LED that stays on permanently. So no sleeping in a dark room even with alexa on or off. This tv is always listening thru the remote…which is a horrible remote.Casting turned into a multistep process. Other tvs alert you a device is connecting, you approve, done. This one you have to tell to look for a connecting device . Every time. This tv is not intuitive and barely meets the mark of “smart”I wasn’t going to buy a first generation tv, but this is from Amazon and their products are usually right up there with the best. But…the tv/platform is about 2-3 years away. I will try again down the line once they build out the functionality and app store. Great picture though! For the record, we have 8 smart tvs in the house from 3 different companies. And we still felt we needed to return this and go with a different brand that is more mature.**Editing my review down to 1 star due to Amazon sending me a return label with tracking number that I used to return the tv, UPS tracked the return as delivered on Nov 10, and yesterday (12/12) they recharged my card claiming it was never returned.Loss of one star for blaming your warehouse workers for not scanning it back into the system and Amazon being too lazy to check the tracking number THEY issued. 45mins of my life BACK on the phone with support to teach them how to use a tracking number. Smh this has become a horrible experience in laziness

Terrific Value!
A lot of people griped about advertisement. It’s 2023 man. Basically everything you may want or need is integrated into this TV…like an Echo Show. Everything is at your fingertips. Here’s something else I like about it. The integration with my Ring cameras. So when I get a notification from Alexa, it pops up on the TV up in the corner. Way easy to close if you don’t need it, but I rather like that feature. I don’t have to pull up my phone to see. It’s right there. The rest of the stuff is simple. Decent picture on the 4K screen. I don’t spend my life evaluating TV’s for a living, so I can tell you that it’s nice. There is no noticeable choppiness at the 60Hz refresh rate. The sound is reasonable. I don’t expect theater quality from a television, so I accompanied it with a sound bar. It’s on our back porch. I would have paid more for it, so I find the value high for me. That fact that our lives dang near revolve around ordering things through Amazon is another good reason to purchase. You can keep up with deliveries and use the microphone to talk to Alexa for those items.I recommend this TV. Pound for pound, it’s worth the money. We like the size, Alexa integration, features (that work for our lives), and ease of use.

Very nice 4K TV for a bedroom (4 stars), 3 Stars for a main TV Viewing area
I have a significant investment in Amazon Fire TV Cubes (3) and Sticks (6) and so I decided to try out the Amazon Fire TV (43 Inch Omni). This is for my master bedroom and is not my main viewing TV. I also own an LG 55 inch C6 (OLED), a 65 inch LG 9000 (IPS panel) and a 55 inch Hisense U8G (VA panel) which are fairly high end TV’s that all have above average picture quality and upscale functionality. The Omni TV does not compare to my main TV’s in picture quality, however, the 4K picture is actually quite decent for a bedroom TV whose main viewing time is either early morning or late evening (in a darkened room). Also, we don’t have any soundbars, DVD players, or Cable boxes attached to the Omni TV. We use YouTube TV for local channels and have a number of streaming services (Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, etc.).What I like about the Omni TV1. Very lightweight at 15.5 pounds making it easy to mount on the wall.2. Set up was extremely easy since I am a registered Amazon customer. Plug it in, answer a few questions the TV does a software update, linked to my saved settings for WiFi, automatically downloaded my previous applications from my Fire TV Stick and it was ready to go.3. The interface is exactly like all my other Fire TV Sticks and Cubes, there was no learning curve. The interface is zippy and functions well. After loading 30+ applications I still had 6 GB of memory unused, which is great. I was also able to jailbreak the TV (like the Fire TV Stick) and download Kodi, Cinema HD, Downloader, IP Vanish, and several other 3rd party utilities, with no problem. All applications work great.4. Based on the integrated voice and Fire TV capability, you don’t need to spend $50 on a FireTV Max or $100 on a Fire TV Cube and a $30 Echo Dot, making the TV an even greater value.5. The Bluetooth remote is a nice design and easy to use. A bit of an enhancement over the base Fire TV stick remote with some controls unique to the Omni TV (like settings, channel selector, prior key, live TV key)6. The integrated voice commands worked for the most part. Actually, this is pretty cool and should only get better over time. I do have one issue where Voice Commands such as “Turn on the TV” work just fine, but “Turn Off the TV” does not work. This is a minor issue and hopefully will get fixed with future software updates. Note: Amazon customer service could not find a resolution to this problem other than resetting my TV and wiping out all my downloaded applications/passwords. I elected to live with the problem. All other commands seem to work well.7. The 4K picture quality is acceptable in the bedroom.8. The price is excellent. At $300 for the 43-inch TV, it was priced appropriately for the functionality.9. Once you get used to how to tweak the picture using the Picture Mode function (Standard, Movie, Dynamic, Custom) settings you can improve the quality of the picture a bit. For me, the Movie mode, with Picture Temp set to Warm 1 worked best for me. Compared to other TV’s the number of adjustments are very limited. However, for ease of use for most users, this is probably acceptable. I do like using voice commands to “Switch Picture Mode to Standard, Movie, Dynamic, etc.”. This saves clicking the remote button multiple times and is easier to execute.10. Integration to my Ring Doorbell and 4 cameras around my property works great. The Omni TV supports either full screen as well as Picture in Picture and is voice-activated. “Show me the Front Yard Camera” is all that is needed to bring up the picture….very easy to do.11. All my TP-Link KASA smart plugs can be activated via voice through the Omni TV, i.e. “Turn on the bedroom lights”., “Turn off my backyard landscape lights”, etc.12. Drop-in works across other Echo Dots.13. The Omni TV can participate in standard “Speaker Groups”. i.e. “Play music Upstairs” works.14. You can control attached Sound Bars, DVD players, and Cable boxes with this TV (like the Fire TV Cube). With 4HDMI ports, you have a lot of expansion capabilities. It comes with an IR blaster that can be used for non-bluetooth devices.15. You can attach up to two Echo Dots to this TV to improve the sound quality. In my opinion, the sound quality on this set is ok for a bedroom. Not great, but not bad either. After all, it is a bedroom!!16. The 43 inch size is perfect for a bedroom TV. Bumping up to a 50 or 55 inch TV would have been too big for my space. Not all TV manufacturers offer this size. What I don’t like about the Fire TV1. The lack of Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ limits the 4K picture quality. Dolby Vision should have been included in all the TV’s and not just the 65 and 75 inch models.2. The backlighting is very basic with direct-lit. I would have paid more to get Full Array backlighting to enhance picture quality.3. Good HDR requires much higher NITs – I.e. brightness (like 500 to 600) to be truly effective. The Omni TV seems to top out around 325, which is not enough to make HDR details pop in a dark scene.4. The VA Panel has poor side viewing angles (most all vendors have this problem) but in my bedroom, this was not a problem. All in all, I would recommend this TV if you want a decent 4K picture for a bedroom, want to save some bucks, and are invested in the Amazon echo system. The price is great for what you get and you don’t need to purchase a Fire TV and Echo Dot to gain voice control with another TV brand. For the main viewing area, I would pay more for a larger higher quality TV that supports Dolby Vision, Full Array backlighting, better-upscaling processor, and higher HDR peak brightness.UPDATE 5/2/22 FIX for TV not shutting down by voice commandI was able to solve the voice problem of why the Omni TV’s Alexa would “Turn on the TV” but fail to “Turn off the TV” (it would always go back to the home screen and never shut down). The solution was to go into the Alexa App on my Phone – Select Devices, then – Select All Devices – Find my Omni TV in the device list – Select the Omni TV then TURN OFF Two items 1) Adaptive Listening and 2) Follow up Mode. The minute I made these two changes the TV will now turn off using my voice. Many of my Echo Dots have these features turned on so I made the assumption that the Omni TV would work the same way since these features are available. That was a wrong assumption. My guess is when you have the Follow Up mode turned on, during the shut down process, Alexa gets confused and is waiting for a follow up command (so it does not shut down). In my opinion this is a software bug. I am surprised that Amazon support does not have this easy fix in their knowledge base. If you have this problem, try my fix.

Not Ready for Prime Time
I purchased one of these for my girlfriend for an early Christmas present. I was pretty happy she had spoken about purchasing a bit larger TV for her home and I was just the guy to make that happen. It’s always nice when you’re buying a present for yourself as well as your person. It’s pretty hard watching your team on a 40 inch Insignia when you have a beautiful 65 inch Samsung and an awesome sound system at home. I couldn’t let her do this on her own…Lol!She had some specific criteria about what she wanted even though she didn’t know I was going to do this for HER. 55 inch was as large as she would go and she doesn’t like “clutter”. We obviously need better sound than an old, crappy, no name soundbar as well so we’ll go for the whole show with the Echo Studio speakers and I had an Echo Sub still in the box I didn’t really use. She already had an Echo Show that she loves, so this should be a no brainer, right? The speakers had already been here for a week when the TV arrived Thursday I put them all under her tree before she got home from work. I wasn’t waiting until Christmas, the next game was on Sunday. The speakers were first that evening and they worked mostly as expected. My initial impressions were good, much better than my old Echo’s although speakers that size aren’t really in the same class as my four old Kef 104/2’s that I have loved since new back in ‘87. Much less “clutter” though and they really do sound pretty good.On Friday it was time for the initial setup of the TV and of course you have to un-pair the speakers in order to set up a “Home Theater”. That seems a bit over the top, these things are supposed to work together, right? Ok, step by step I guess. I get it set up and the sound is coming out of the speakers. We sit down with a beer and listen to some music and all is good.On Saturday morning, it’s time to get serious and down comes the old Insignia and the rest of the “clutter” and up goes the new TV. When I turn it on, there is no sound coming from the speakers. Hmm! I tried lots of commands to Alexa and nothing worked. Couldn’t find anything in the app or online to help. Between Friday night and Saturday morning I did one factory reset on the TV and many multiple un-pairing and re-pairing of the TV and the speakers. The only thing I found that would work for me was to go into settings and do a restart. The factory reset requires you to start over from the beginning but the restart at least keeps your settings. Cycling power alone doesn’t help. The biggest problem with the restart is it has to re-calibrate the Home Theater settings which takes about five minutes and part of that time will be without sound as well. This can’t be that hard. This should be one of the easiest TV’s ever made to set up and use. I have to be missing something but every time I ask Alexa to play music, the speakers won’t switch back to playing sound from the TV no matter what I tried. After I killed the whole morning messing with it, I had to leave so I got it back to the point it was usable with her Apple TV and I told her not to use the A word or it might quit working. Just leave the remote alone also. Saturday evening, I had the same results, couldn’t find any way to fix it. Watched A Star is Born on HBO Max on her Apple TV through this system. Very enjoyable…great movie.Sunday morning, I decided to search the internet for people who might have been having a similar problem but couldn’t find anything. It’s getting close to game time and I need it working. I probably should have just left it alone but I’m determined. I managed to break it one last time just before the game started so I un-paired everything and turned on the TV speaker because I didn’t have time to set it back up again. The TV speaker option isn’t available if you have it paired with the Home Theater, thanks Amazon. The TV speaker isn’t bad for a TV speaker but it’s not exactly what I paid for.Sunday evening, I decided I am probably going to have to send the TV back. I hate returning things but on top of the other problems, the menu is glitchy. At times it will slow down and get to the point of freezing completely. Cycling power at least fixes that temporarily. The TV updated to the latest software as soon as it connected to the internet so you wouldn’t think that would be a problem. It’s not like this tv hasn’t been out long enough to fix most of the bugs. Maybe I just got a bad one. Overall, I would say the picture is fine and when working the sound was great but I’ve never had this many problems with a TV out of the box. When you plug them in, they work. They might need some adjustments but they generally work as advertised. I’ve given it enough of my time this weekend to even think about more hours spent with tech support or waiting on software updates.Monday I purchased a Fire TV Cube and a different TV. Guess what…it worked correctly out of the box. The Apple TV will turn the whole system on when you hit the menu button on the apple remote and the sound plays on the Echo Studios. The Fire TV remote will control the Apple TV. If you hook your HDMI cable to ARC input on the TV, the sound from the TV will play from the Echo Studios also. The concept actually works really well when you pair a Fire TV with Echo Studio’s in a Home Theater setup. Too bad I ended up adding to the clutter. At least it’s pretty small. The Fire TV experience is good and I could probably eliminate the Apple TV but we have already downloaded all the apps she wants and have all the sign in information on it. Besides, we’re both used to and like the interface.I probably just got a bad TV. There are plenty of good reviews here. This one would have been fine hooked up to my system at home. I liked the menus and they were pretty fast when I wasn’t switching apps and inputs every 5 seconds trying to get the speakers to respond correctly. The cube makes me believe I probably just got a bad TV for some reason. I’ll give it a 3.

Originally didn’t work well with Spectrum Cable, but Amazon Outreach fixed it
I’ve changed this review from one star. I’d been having two problems with the Fire TV I purchased for my elderly father.- The Spectrum remote wasn’t working with the Spectrum DVR. It would respond about 5% of the time, so that made it seem like some sort of interference–I thought related to the Fire TV. This had not been a problem prior to getting the Fire TV. However, after trying lots of configuration of cables, tightening connections, etc the fix turned out to moving the cable box away from the left side of the cabinet. It just needed space. Go figure.- The second problem was that the Alexa voice control was working only about 5% of the time changing a cable channel. Regular Amazon Customer Support had not a clue, however, after posting a one star review, James (an Amazon Outreach Representative from Fire TV Customer Support) contacted me. First he sent an email, then called when I sent him a phone number, then called back at an agreed time when I’d be at my dad’s apartment where the TV was located. James and I went through various menus, tweaked the configuration and now it works. Yay! Kudos to James! And Amazon Outreach. If you call Amazon Customer Support for a Fire TV issue, but sure to ask for the “Fire TV Customer Support Rep”.

Where this TV shines the most is the operating system
I don’t normally write reviews but I thought this one was necessary I’d like to start off saying I ordered this TV from Amazon it was packaged very well and there was no damage during shipping where this TV really shines the Alexa functionality and the fire TV operating system integration with all that said when setting up the TV it took longer than I’m used to because it seemed like it took over an hour to get the TV set up I’m not complaining at all about that I’m just saying as you first set up this TV make sure and be patient it had a lot of updates to do before you could even get into the home screen so I would say roughly about an hour so while it’s doing that you might as well get some coffee or food but just be patient with it also when I bought this TV the amount of storage is not listed and that is something important to me as well because I was currently using A fire cube 3 and it had 16 gigs of internal storage on the TV you get 11 gigs of storage so I was able to completely restore all my apps that I was currently using on my fire cube so I’m very happy about that I will say though it seems like the processor was faster in the fire cube than in this TV because it does take longer when the software updates are installing so I’m thinking they might’ve put a regular fire stick in this TV the sound in the TV is decent I actually believe that the sound is better in this TV then in the high end Samsung TV that I had but if you think that the sound is not to your liking I would suggest getting a sound bar but so far even though it might not be the best in the world the sound is definitely good for a bedroom and that’s where my TV is the TV has AirPlay so you can play videos from your iPhone I think my major grapes with this TV when the sun is shining you could definitely see a glare on your TV my other gripe it doesn’t have a feature that the fire cube 3 has being physically disabled with cerebral palsy with the fire cube I could actually program it to work with my DIRECTV box to change the channels by voice with Alexa when I tried to set it up it would not complete the test so I spent three hours on the phone last night with Amazon and the lady had me to do all kinds of things and I don’t think she was understanding me and her phone was actually very static to where I couldn’t hear her so I asked her to speak to an advisor she didn’t seem too happy and then she says I can help you and then finally after I asked her a second time to speak to a supervisor she finally connected me to someone and after talking to the supervisor and after he did some research sadly this TV does not have that feature so I’m not able to use Alexa to control my DIRECTV set top box even though that is a big disappointment because it’s hard for me to use the DIRECTV remote I still like this TV but I honestly thought that that feature would be included with this TV but it’s not so I would say they probably used a regular fire stick with this TV and be on the safe side I went ahead and paid extra do you have a protection plan in case the TV dies or something

Good customer service & a decent tv
UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me & were very helpful with getting me a replacement. Since getting a functioning tv I would say this is a decent tv for the money. Not super high end but the picture is good and it’s nice to not have additional streaming devices hooked up. Overall worth the money. The TV arrived at my home with a defect on the screen which warped the image at the bottom at times. I could deal with it if it wasn’t brand new. Stuff happens so it wasn’t the biggest deal except there is no exchange option available and I could not find anyway to speak to a person. My only option would be to return it for a refund (slightly less than it is currently since it was Black Friday) and the refund won’t go through until I drop off the damaged TV so we would be with out a TV for however long it takes to ship the new one. The TV seems to be ok for the price but so far this experience has not been worth the hassle this has become.

Software Updates are Important….Great TVs…10 in since 2016
I have at least 10 Firetvs of various sizes, levels and manufacturers over the past 8 years. All of them still work fine and look great, for my needs. The older ones have less on-board storage so you can not put a ton of apps on them…but anything after 2020 models have plenty of storage space for loads of apps.Im my experience with using any of the FireTvs it is important to check for and install software updates regularly. Anytime the system starts lagging, stalling or not responding, there is usually an update downloaded waiting to be installed or needs to be manually downloaded and installed then restart the tv through the menu. This is especially important when 1st setting up the tv as its several updates behind and they build on the previous update…meaning manually check for updates regularly the first few days after setting up. This has solved 99% of any slow, lagging or non-responding problems for me.I never use the Alexa voice commands but my parents love to “tell Alexa what to find”

Great 4K, Great HDR, Quick Response, Amazing Price
I got this TV on sale for $279.99 ($299.99 total), and this is, by far, the best TV I have ever purchased in terms of available features, picture quality, and pricing.Features: Every streaming app is available, and the UI is the least laggy out of any brand I’ve tried. It is literally just like having a Fire TV Stick built into your display. You can plug 4 HDMI cables into it, and you can also use 3.5mm or optical SPDIF audio ports to plug in speakers. The overall build quality feels very sturdy while remaining lightweight.Quality: The video quality is great on this TV. 4K movies look very sharp, and black levels are surprisingly low. HDR content also looks great on this display. It doesn’t introduce any banding or contrasting issues, in movies or games, as far as I’ve seen. The Auto-HDR feature also makes some SDR content look really good, but I recommend turning it off if things begin to look TOO vibrant. The audio quality is on par with every other normal TV. The speakers aren’t very loud, and they can’t reach very low. I suggest doing what I did and buy yourself a basic 2.1ch speaker setup or soundbar.Gaming: Gaming is great on this TV. When you are playing on an Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch and you launch a game, the TV will automatically switch to a “Game Mode”. This “Game Mode” reduces input lag, making it so that there is a very small delay between your input and when the action occurs on screen. There is a picture setting preset for game content, and it is perfect for almost anything I’ve played so far. I love playing Forza and The Legend of Zelda on this TV.Setup: If you sign in with your Amazon account, and you link your other accounts with Amazon, signing into things is a breeze. Also, using your phone to set up the TV works very well. There are a TON of options that let you adjust how you want the picture to look or the audio to sound. No other brand lets you tweak that many settings. In conclusion: This is a great TV at a great price. You are not being scammed, and you do not need that $1000+ Samsung QLED. The only thing those might have over this one is they get much brighter. Anyone will be happy with this display, and most people will be happy they saved a few hundred dollars or more.My entertainment setup:1) Fire TV Omni Series 50″2) Xbox One X3) Sony 4K UHD BD Player4) Nintendo Switch5) Nintendo Wii(the Wii is plugged in using a component to HDMI adapter, and it looks great)

Great display, but needs some upgrades
My wife sent me the listing for this TV when she received it as a special sale item and even though my current old TV was still working fine, I decided that it was a good enough deal that I would upgrade to 4K finally. I liked that it had a lot of potentially beneficial connectivity between other devices, like cameras and other smart home stuff. I already had a TV wall mount from my old TV. The only problem was the mounting holes on the back of this TV were different and I didn’t have the leftovers from the mounting hardware, so I had to wait until the next morning to run to the hardware store and get what I needed. After that, it was up on the wall within minutes. Another problem: the mounting of the bracket on the back on the TV is much lower than my old one, so the TV sits about 8-10″ higher than before. I will need to take down the TV and move the entire wall bracket down so it sits at the right height.Setup is pretty easy, getting through the general stuff, the WiFi connection, updates, and scanning through the TV channels…yes, I still use antenna for a couple local channels I can’t get through streaming. That all went fine. I connected my existing in-wall HDMI cable to the ARC port and set my receiver to the Roku input. I had great picture and audio. I decided that I should also try using the TV with its built-in Fire TV capabilities. That’s where things went off the rails. The ARC was working fine for all of a few minutes, and then after changing a couple unrelated settings and rebooting the TV, I had no more sound over ARC. I messed with settings on the TV and my receiver for 10-15 minutes before turning to the internet for help. I found an answer that said to unplug the TV for a few minutes and then it should work again. Great. Did that and I did indeed have sound over the ARC channel, but it would cut out every 5-7 seconds. I tried messing with all sorts of settings but eventually gave up and just connected an optical cable between the TV and receiver to get sound working properly. I might have to try a newer HDMI cable to see if that makes any difference. With that working, I was able to use the native Fire TV apps. I’ve been using the native Fire TV system now for a couple months and I have to say, it needs work. When the apps work, they work. But every once in a while, and it’s happening almost daily now, I’ll load an app and it won’t respond. I’ll have to reboot the TV and then the apps will start working most of the time. Sometimes even a reboot won’t work and I just have to wait for the app to eventually load. I don’t think its an internet or WiFi issue, since nothing else seems to have any problems. I just think the Fire TV environment is slow. I don’t know if it’s because of the hardware or the software, but the instant I started using it, I could tell how much slower it was to respond to anything compared to the Roku box I have.Needless to say, as a display, this thing works great. The picture is clear and bright, the details are amazing. I haven’t played much with the picture settings, as out-of-box, it was already good. I like that it integrates the OTA TV channels right into the menu so I don’t have to change the input. I also like the on-screen notifications from Alexa for specific things that I have set up. I haven’t played much with the integration of the Ring doorbell and the picture-in-picture display for it. I also plugged a web camera into the USB port on the TV and it recognized it, but I haven’t tried to use Zoom yet with it.I gave it 5 stars, despite the issues with ARC, as that may not necessarily be the fault of the manufacturer, but more an issue with my cable, or the setup between the TV and my receiver…maybe they just don’t work well together. I’ve read that Yamaha’s receivers all tend to be finicky with ARC, so it may just be that. I’m also not dropping any stars, despite the speed issues, as it could potentially be related to my network, or might work fine after an update. Either way, I could use it as just a display with my Roku and it would be a 5-star display at that point. But then I’d lose any capabilities with the integrated Alexa and smart features.

Unable to Update
I have had my TV since July of 2022 and I have had no issues…until I had to factory reset. It now gets stuck on “unable to update” even though it successfully connects to WiFi. It is very frustrating. I have tried all of troubleshooting and spoken to Customer Service but the warranty does not cover it now. I was told I would be contacted by someone else to help try to troubleshoot and have not heard from anyone. Very disappointing.UPDATE: Customer Service made contact with me after my initial review. My TV is working!!! and updated!!! Very pleased with how quickly they were able to solve my issue!

great tv
I’m not a techy person so I can’t give that kind of review – but I can say – that for my basic tv watching needs in m y bedroom, this is a great tv. Excellent picture quality, navigates well. Something I learned when I got it, because it’s a FIRE TV you no longer need to use a FireStick – it’s all built in. May seem obvious to some – but as I said I’m not technically inclined. All that said – it was super easy to set up and link to my Prime account – I mean it was like it already knew who I was kind of thing. Made it a pretty quick set up.

BLACK SCREEN
UPDATE – I contacted customer service right after writing this review. I wasn’t helping for much. I was just trying to get the number for the warranty service that I would have to contact for help. I honestly thought it would cost just as much to ship the TV to get fixed as I bought it for (and of course I didn’t have the box anymore).Instead, within 10 minutes of talking to them, they ordered me a replacement. The replacement was supposed to get here November 24 and it ended up getting here early on November 22. The replacement works perfectly right out of the box. I have to say this is probably my favorite TV so far. I was really thinking I should get a Roku TV since I have Roku’s. But the picture quality is great and the Alexa voice command is awesome. I can tell my TV to turn on and turn off and the search for whatever I’m looking for. It’s awesome!Nov 16- But this a couple months ago finally opened it and put it up today. Black screen right out of the box. Doesn’t work at all.

Love it
I have been a faithful TCL Roku fan for years. I decided to try a fire TV and I do not regret it. It took me a minute to learn the new menu, and to figure out how to work the remote in the dark.(because it’s our bedroom TV). The picture quality is excellent. My wife likes to watch a lot of black and white retro TV shows. It’s amazing to see the picture quality difference.Having Alexa built-in is not something I expected to need because we already have a dot in the bedroom but I have found it very useful. The microphone sensitivity is farsuperior to Alexa products.
