    DSLR Camera Small Sling Backpack

This is a nice sling style camera backpack. Great for when you only want to carry a small amount of camera gear with you. Well thought out design and good quality workmanship. Everything is well padded with storage for the camera w/lens attached and two additional lenses in the main compartment. The upper compartment is large enough to carry the battery charger, flash gear and lens cleaning gear. Maybe not big enough for a professional photographer but perfect for the casual photographer. I think it’s a good deal for the price and certainly beats lugging around a full camera bag when you know that you don’t need all of your gear with you. It can also carry a water bottle and tripod on the outside. The squeeze to open clips on the outside keeps the spare lens inside the bag when you open the main compartment (no accidental dropping). As I said earlier, this is a well thought out design. I recommend it to anyone who wants to carry a small sling pack.

    Easy on, easy off

Just received this camera bag and after putting all my things it is I can say it is a Great camera sling backpack. Slinging it over my shoulder is easier for me to put on and I love it that you can pull it around the front of you and get into the main pocket with the camera in it.I can fit my Canon T5i with the 18-55mm lens on it and both the 300mm and 250mm lens in with the camera. In the netting pocket inside that area I have both spare battery and spare camera card in it. There is room left to tuck my charger in and take with me if I am going to use this for trips. In the area at the top of the backpack I have both my 50mm and 10-18mm lens in it. It is not too tight buy snug enough that they won’t be moving around banging into each other. The netting pockets inside this top area hold my remote controller, cleaning cloths and cleaning brush.I am pleased that as I pulled the sling backpack around to front that the main pocket opens to the side facing up, toward my face and I can get into it without fear of anything falling out. There is a latch across that pocket that you can unlatch and unzip all the way open if desired.I have a big tripod but it does fit, the bag has a small pocket for one leg of tripod to go into it and a strap to hold the tripod tight. I tried it and wouldn’t be worried at all to carry the tripod on the bag although I like using my mono pod better than a tripod. The mono pod fits very nicely also. This is a good quality bag. I have bought several bags for my camera but this one is going to be my favorite because of the space, ease of putting it on, carrying it.One thing I didn’t see when first ordering this was a picture of the extra strap that goes across the front of you. I can see where this would be a great help if you are hiking with this pack on as it levels out the pack and makes it more like a backpack and very secure. But if you have it snapped on, you can’t bring the backpack around to the front until you unsnap it. At least you have a choice.I highly recommend this bag.

Just slightly larger and this would be 10 stars.

If you like carrying around a bunch of photography stuff and/or you have the more expensive FX lenses that tend to be bigger. This is probably not going to function as nicely as you like. I am one such photography and I love the design of the bag but it’s… inches too small. This would be a 10 star bag if just an extra inch was added in width and potentially length.Fantastic design. This thing works as a sling, swings around just like pictured and has buckles on the front to prevent camera items from falling out when you unzip it. But if you want easier access you just unbuckle them, no fuss, nice and simple. The strap for the bag is also great. The band is wide so even when I put heavy lenses in it the strap doesn’t dig into my shoulder. It also has a buckle for quick removal and an extra across your stomach for stability. For me, it’s slightly too small. I love the fact they kept is small but for what I want to use it for I am stuffing it a little too much…FLASHThis bag definitely can’t fit my flash… I am simply not comfortable with taking it out of it’s case to fold it oddly in the top like they show. I’d almost rather put an extra lens up there in a case than do that.LENS AND CAMERAIf you own a basic DSLR with DX lenses you will easily fit- Camera Body, stock lens (24-120mm), a 35 mm(or 55mm) and a small telephoto(70-200mm, 70-300mm gets slightly too long for standing tall as shown in picture)If you own a camera that uses FX lenses… Be prepared to stuff… you can get the body with a lens attached (not telephoto) and a smaller 35mm or 55mm lens but if you want to add a telephoto you have to start changing the way the camera sits inside the bag and personally I am a little weary of how protected the camera is at that point. I will say it fits but just not well.TRIPODThe side pocket would fit a small tripod as shown but I have yet to test how well the tripod really stays put and wears on your back like that. I am guessing it’s not going to be as nicely wearable as I hope. As far as a gorilla tripod, this would definitely sit there and travel just fine.LITTLE STUFFThere are several pockets for the little stuff. Extra battery, memory cards (strongly encourage a large case not individual memory card cases bc they will fall out, cleaning cloth, lens caps and so on. I do wish this had at least 1 zippered pocket but it doesn’t :(In shortPROS-Design, style, wearablity and comfort I give 10 stars out of 5 😀 Very very happy with this aspect of the bag.Easily fits smaller DX lenses and bodyLots of small pocketsLove the space for tripodCONSSlightly small if you are using FX lenses (ONE to TWO inches in width and depth would make this a perfect back for FX lenses as well!)Personally don’t feel it fits a flashWish one or two of the pockets zipped instead of velcroWith all that said, I’d buy it again. It’s functionality is so incredible that I just have to have it and will continue to work with it in hopes I find a better solution for the storage spacing of the lenses… good tetris practice.

    Perfect for day trips

This pack has the room for my primary lenses and getting to the camera is so easy. It has room for my phone tripod on the outside and is very secure. Both my wife and I have one and are very pleased with the Altura product.

    Perfect Size

Very nice bag and quality construction. Fits my camera and two additional lenses very well. Perfect for a day of sight seeing. The sling design is great for when in touristy areas that have a high rate of pick pockets as you just spin the bag in front of you.

Quality is Minimal for a Camera Bag

First up – bag was only wrapped in a plastic bag so bag can get squished. My bag did not have a nice shape – Nothing scratched or damaged. You can likely reshape the bag by stuffing it with plastic bags. The bag can carry camera gear but don’t expect the bag to protect your gear much if bag is dropped and heavily knocked. There is padding but it is minimal. I have an Alpha 6000 which is a smaller mirrorless and I am not trusting it in this bag. The bag can absorb some decent knocks, but it is not rated for stuff that can and will happen. The bag is well organized and have several mesh pockets. There is one on the upper compartment. There is one of the main compartment flap and there is one on side of bag for a bottle water or small tripod. The main compartment is configurable by adjusting the partitions across sewed velcro straps. The zippers are lightweight and the zipper tabs are small. The main compartment is double zippered meaning two zippers which is good. All other zippered areas have a single zipper tab.The top handle is just a one layer nylon or polyester strap. It is not doubled up or have any insulation or thickness. Will it hold? Mostly likely. It is just minimal quality. Again not meeting my expectations of even a low cost camera bag.Bottomline I would keep looking if you are looking for a low cost sling bag camera bag. Look at the Tarion Sling Bag for a few dollars more. And of course you can continue to pay more and get a high quality bag. But if you aren’t carrying around expensive gear – camera and lenses, thus Altura bag will carry items just fine and protect them from minor bumps and bruises.

    Excellent design and features

If you are looking for a compact camera bag for a compact to medium sized DSLR, then this sling backpack is really worth a look. The bag is comprised of two major compartments. The top compartment can hold small accessories, a compact flash, and additional lens, or accessory bag.The larger compartment can be customized to fit your camera with lenses. My Canon 80D currently has an 18 to 55 mm lens, a battery grip, and a shoulder sling. With my lens hood, my camera will not fit. If I opt to use my camera without a battery grip, then it fits perfectly. This makes a great Day pack for a casual day at shooting. Each compartment is padded and keeps the equipment protected. The sling strap is padded and is very comfortable. A smaller zippered compartment allows the user to store filters, spare batteries, lens caps or potentially, memory cards; however, there are no memory card slots that are built in to keep the memory cards from falling out. The bag is well-made and has very solid feeling zippers. The beauty of this particular pack is that there are no hints to this being a camera bag which limits the chance of being targeted. There is a side slot for a small tripod with a securing strap. It’s a great compact bag for your DSLR.

    Use it as a cooler

I had a bariatric surgery done and needed a small on the go cooler. I now use this and it works amazingly.I removed the dividers and add an icepack. I have had a lot of people ask me where I have gotten my small cooler.

Great Small Sling Pack for Camera

Love this small sling pack for my mirrorless camera. It holds my camera and a lens or two depending on the size. Lightweight with a small zipper pocket for perhaps keys or small items. Another top loading zippered compartment that can hold extra items which I like to use for my extra batteries, small wallet so I don’t have to carry that in a separate purse/bag. Very comfortable fit with no strain on shoulders and back. I like how you can swing the pack to the front for quick easy access of camera and accessories.

    Good size and flexible

I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a sling pack like this for some time. Being able to easily take a high-end camera and lens on the go has always been appealing. I bought this Altura sling pack to take on a recent trip to Boston. I wanted something I could carry-on the plane because I don’t like to ever check high end camera gear. I was able to fit my Canon EOS R, my Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 lens, a monopod, a Speedlight and magmod dome diffuser inside it with some minor adjustments of the velcro dividers on the inside. It’s so great to not have to take the pack off to have quick access to my camera and have everything readily available. This sling pack seems well made. There are plenty of pockets and dividers to keep things separate and protected. My only complaint is that, when I swing the pack in front of me, the zipper doesn’t open and close as easily as I would like; with my camera gear inside it, the pack folds a little so I have to fiddle with the zipper or use two hands to get it to open and close, but for the price, it’s a pretty great deal.

Good Quality, but a bit small

I purchased this bag for my new Canon T7 that came with two lenses. The camera with the 18-55 mm lens fits fine. However, the Canon 75-300 mm lens that came with my camera barely fits when the camera is in the bag. I would also prefer to have my tripod legs totally within the bag, not just strapped on with one leg hanging out. All in all this seem to be a good quality bag. I personally should have ordered a bag a bit larger, with more storage. Once I add my filters, extra batteries, remote shutter release etc. the bag, it is pretty much jammed full. I would like to add a wide angle lens, but that area is taken up by my lens hoods. So I will try to rearrange things, or eventually purchase a larger bag.

Good size and padding, but strap seam tore after 1 week — ***Refund applied by Vendor***

***** UPDATE — The vendor contacted me and offered the choice of a refund or replacement. Can’t get better than that for Customer Service. Updated from 2 stars to 4 stars due to their quick response and offer. ******This is a very good case in concept. It is a great size with very good padding, adjustable internal dividers, and an additional storage area that can hold a lot of little accessories. In the main compartment I was able to carry a Nikon D40 with a 18-270mm Tamron zoom lens, a handheld video camera and a compact Samsung camera easily.Carried it on a 11-day bus tour in Europe from the US. Walked a lot each day while wearing it. Easily fit in the overhead airplane bin. Took me 10 minutes to figure out how to position the strap (did not use the second smaller strap), but once I had it on, it rotates around the body easily. On the 9th day, I noticed the fabric at the seam where the strap connects to the case was pulling apart. The outer fabric seems very thin and the seam pulled apart very easily once started. The padding behind the fabric is very good however. Not sure if I just had a bad one or the fabric was already torn (didn’t notice it) or if it’s a common problem, as that’s my experience.

great sling pack. makes camera access easy but too shallow for longer lenses

This is a great little pack. I use it to carry a camera while walking my dog in the woods. If I see a good photo opportunity, With one hand, I can slide the pack around to the front and get out my camera with releasing my dog. I carry the camera and a flash unit in it. Its size, however, is a blessing and a curse. It is small which makes it convenient and light, but also makes it difficult to carry a camera with a long lens. My Canon body with a Tamron 18-400 lens barely fits inside (assuming you have organized the packs dividers as Altura’s picture illustrates). The fit is very tight and it is a little difficult to close the zipper I am still trying to reconfigure the dividers to accommodate the longer lenses. Long lenses definitely will not fit if you lay then back to front. In short, if it was a little deeper and a little wider it would be fantastic.

    Good for smaller camera/lens

Ordered this 8 months ago. Did fine with a beginner DSLR and lenses but the zipper failed with larger body / lenses. We simply ordered another one of these to hold the Rebel stuff and a bigger backpack for the new stuff.

SLING or Explorer Backpack??? That is the question….

It’s got a great design and that’s why I got it. I couldn’t decide between the sling and the explorer backpack so I decided to get both. I was leaning towards the sling for practicality, like bringing it along on short trips/travels, where my main focus is not shooting. I’m glad I got both because the sling fits really snug around your back with the support strap and does not move around feely. I climbed and then jumped off a roof with it on to test it out and it held tight against my back comfortably without having to worry about it “slinging” across my body. The Sling is definitely made with cheap straps compared to the backpack. The overall build quality is much higher on the backpack and it feels better. I put my gorillapod in the backpack with my camera attached to the head, where it is easily reached and quick released. I can also fit my small glidecam in there. The sling is super functional but I can tell the cheap straps might get uncomfortable on a long hike so it would be best for short adventures. I would probably recommend the backpack over the sling if you’re on the fence but that is not to say the sling is not a good purchase. I’m really glad I got both. I haven’t tried using both at once but I’m sure that could work for a big shoot, where i need all my gear. They are really spacious for my Sony a7s II with a couple vintage lenses and two larger DSLR lenses. Have a great day! Seriously go outside. It’s friggin’ beautiful out. :)))

Functionality is awkward, strap makes it hard to breathe.

I’ve had this pack for about 2 months but every week when I hike I just end up leaving this bag in the car and taking my camera in something different. The concept of spinning the pack from your back to your front to take your camera equipment out is cool, but in all actuality it’s crazy awkward to do and scary considering how expensive camera equipment is.Secondly, the strap that goes across your chest is really constricting on your breathing, making any sort of hiking way harder than it needs to be. I’m athletic but I thought it was hard to breathe when I tried it on empty out of the box, and after 2 hikes with this thing it became my permanent stay in the car bag. Now I know why backpacks have 2 straps that over your shoulders instead of one that goes over your chest, go figure lol

Great bag, just a little short on strap

This bag is the perfect size for my Z30 with two lenses and external flash. My only complaint is that the strap is a little bit smaller that I would like (I am 5’11”). Other than that, the access to the camera is great, padding is pretty good, quality is great.

Really nice camera bag, good value

I bought this bag specifically to use on a recent vacation. It worked out as planned. Used it to carry my Nikon D750 with my super zoom travel lens on it, extra batteries, charger, extra cards, and an external flash as well as an Olympus p&s tough camera. Never once felt like the cameras were at risk. Well, except for when the TSA agent about dumped the camera unzipping it for inspection!!! 🤡💩 It is easy to move around from back to front for access. Only wish the shoulder strap was a little longer for easier use over a heavy winter coat. That was a bit snug. Good materials and construction. Happy with the bag and it will get plenty of use when I don’t need to drag around lots of gear. 👍👍

Indispensable on 2 week trip to Greece

This camera bag was fantastic. Enabling to hold my equipment either in front or behind me and allowing quick access vs a regular backpack. I brought all my equipment in a Morally Toxic Valkyrie bag, and then chose a few pieces for the day while walking around Athens and the Greek isles. I have a full size FX DSLR and lenses. It held the weight fine. When shoulder got tired I would flip the bag to my back and use the extra chest support strap. Reason for 4 stars not 5: Needs some extra padding to protect equipment more. Could be just a tad bigger to better fit 70-200 zoom. (Smaller lenses were no problem and could fit up to 3 without the 70/200) And a better exterior holding method for a water bottle. I wound up using a hip pack to carry my water. The external straps and pocket are really for a small tripod and that’s it.

A great design, but needs needs better quality control

This is an update from my previous review: Goja contacted me after my last review. They are going to contact the manufacturer and see what can be done to improve the construction and materials for this camera bag. I am hoping this camera bag will improve on the build quality because this camera is a winner. End of update. +++++++++ +++ ++ + I have purchased two other sling brands that didn’t work as advertised. When I saw this sling bag, I decided to give it a shot. The bag isn’t huge, but if you’d only need a few items to your hold your gear, I would recommend this sling bag. I was able to put my slr digital camera with 18-55 lens and grip (which is already connected and ready to use), two lenses, a shoe mount flash, along with a small container to store media cards, extra batteries, and a loupe (when you need to really examine your images). During a trade show event, this sling bag was on my back for three days, 6 hours each day. It was very comfortable to wear. The design really kept the bag in place. I didn’t give it 5 stars for only one reason. On the sling bag, there is a strap to provide the entire contents to fall out, if you open the bag. On the third day, the strap that connects to the seam came off. Not the most well built bag. Overall, I would recommend this sling bag.Update: I really wanted this bag to be my favorite. Unfortunately quality control is very poor. I had purchased two of these bags. After a few months on the first bag, two backpacks buckles broke. You can not open them. So I decided to purchase another bag, hoping my first bag was defective. On my first photo shoot, two backpack buckles wouldn’t open up. The same problem with both bags. I have been taking pictures for over 40 years. I have never had any issues with any camera bags. I did not over load these bags or do anything to cause these buckles to break. I still like the design on the bag. It fits my frame very well and is comfortable to wear. But please use better materials. If you do a better job on quality materials and workmanship, let me know. I now have two bags that are defective.

    It’s okay

Would fit a smaller camera like the Canon rebel better than the it does the 5D mark IV with extra lenses in case. Doesn’t fit around my chest very well. It is snug and I have it extended as far as it will go. Would be fine for supper small/thin person.

At $26-$30, An OK Gear Bag, But Anything More… No.

The good. For $26 some odd dollars, the bag is OK. The material is very light and the padded strap is thick and comfortable. The bag slides over from your back, under your arm to the front of your torso with ease. In fact, it slings to the front of the torso with much greater ease than I expected without snagging on my shirt. The main compartment can easily fit my Nikon D90 with a 90mm lens and has room for two other lenses, however, I pulled out all of the inserts in the main compartment (held in place with velcro) and currently have my D90 with a 90mm lens and two Yongnuo 685 speedlights very snugly tucked into the main compartment. In another compartment I have my 50mm lens, a lens cleaning kit and two spare batteries with a compact wall charger. So in essence, all my gear fits into this bag.The not so good.In the camera bags main compartment, the dividers are snugly held in place with velcro and although they do stay in place there really is no configuration that keeps my camera securely in place. I also feel that the dividers could be a lot firmer and more “structural” while at the same time protecting the contents of the bag. I feel that the main compartment could be a little bit bigger to accommodate at least one speedlight without really making a huge impact on how the bag feels hanging on the body or it’s ease at which it transfers from your front torso to your back. I also feel that they could have had a few more extra compartments without really making the bag terribly bulky. As far as the compartment at the head of the bag, when the bag is slinged to the front torso, you really have to be careful that any contents do not come tumbling out because of its position, unlike the main camera compartment. The zippers are another issue, they do not feel sturdy at all. They zip with a great amount of ease, but the overall quality has a great deal to be desired. The same can be said of the straps. Aside from the main thick padded shoulder strap, the smaller ribbon like straps that secure the shoulder sling to the main body of the bag feels thin and poorly sewn together. All in all, at approximately $25 – $30 the bag is what you would expect, decent at what it was designed for. It’s lightweight, for the most part comfortable (although for thicker people it may feel pretty snug) transferring from your back to front with ease. The bag can accommodate a simple day trip good for carrying just the very bare bones gear, a camera with lens and a couple backup lenses and the various odds and ends (spare batteries and whatnot). However, I feel that if you are an enthusiast with regular trips out, the backpack may not be as durable as one would hope. If stitching tears on one end of the strap or the other, then the backpack is rendered useless making the backpack about as effective as putting your camera gear in a plastic T-shirt bag. If you are just occasionally going to on light trips, this bag is a decent buy for the money. If you are really looking to invest in a backpack, I am sure that for a bit more money you can find a much sturdier and better thought out gear bag.

    Small storage space

Bought this to replace a similar pack that had ripped in several places after years of use. The first thing I noticed is that I can’t fit my Canon 60D with telephoto lens (6″ long at it’s shortest) in the center of the storage section. I didn’t even think about this as it was no problem in my previous pack. The center section of the storage area is about 8″ deep, so if your camera body is close to 3″ like mine, this could be a factor for you as well. The times when I will take this pack I will have at most 3 lenses so if I remover the telephoto and place it in one of the padded sections it will work out, but I will have to switch or remove the lens before zipping it up. The construction is nice quality, although I prefer to carry with the sling on my right shoulder and this is made for the left. For a lightweight pack it’s a great value, these are just a couple things I didn’t think about before ordering.

    Almost there…

The build quality, size and concept is very good, but they failed with the straps. There’s a nice thick padded strap, but when worn in front, the strap that goes over your shoulder is the thin, uncomfortable nylon one- It should be padded! I also found the straps to be too short so it’s a bit uncomfortable when you want to change lenses or get stuff on the run.

Just received the bag and added camera and accessories. As a beginner, it holds the gear I have – barely. I may be a little above average size and at full extension the straps are snug on me – not too tight, but doubt I could wear the bag over a heavy coat. The bag seems to be strong but only time will tell as this is brand new.

    So far, so good!

I ‘favorited’ this item and when I went to purchase it, the delivery was much later than originally needed, so I put an alternate in my cart. Then I noticed that I could get with one with 2-day shipping and purchased my 1st choice. It arrived speedily as desired (from warehouse in Baltimore, MD). I had read the reviews and checked for any loose threads, but it seemed to be in good shape.Next step was to check that all my equipment fit. I love the flexibility of the velcro dividers and the mesh pockets! Took me a bit to figure out how to get it all to fit and the 1st photo shows what I ended up with. Originally had my business cards in the mesh pocket in the middle section. However, when I zippered it closed the stack of cards were against the screen/viewfinder & didn’t close as well. So I relocated to the outside pocket. I think this is a design flaw and the mesh pocket should be in the middle of the flap instead. Lastly, I tucked my 54″ tripod on the side.Never having a sling backpack before, sometime it takes a couple tries to figure out how to wear it properly. Seemed to be slightly water resistant, as it was raining when I walked to the car. The rain got heavier and I didn’t end up using my camera. Will update if needed!

    Great value!

This is a decent bag, seems well made with adequate padding and good dividers. For the price, I think it’s a keeper, and it seems very comfortable with a medium load. The main thing I note to be missing that you might find in a more expensive bag is that the strap can only go one way. Some more expensive bags, enable different strap configurations to fit either left or right side carry. Then again, some more expensive bags don’t have this either. There is a nice waist anchoring belt that is not removable, but can be tucked under a flap if not needed. This bag is incredibly lightweight and with a small mirrorless system, you barely feel it. The part against your back is nicely padded. I wish the strap were a little longer, but for the price, this is one of the best values in a bag I’ve seen (and I have a closet full of camera bags) and I suspect it will get a lot of use on day trips, around town, etc. with the mirrorless. There is room for a full DSLR and accessories and space for personal items but, to me, the lightweight and construction seem more suited to a smaller kit such as a mirrorless system or small DSLR.

I like the sling concept for the camera bag

Now that I have taken the bag on a week long trip, I can give my first impressions. I like the sling concept for the camera bag. It fit securely and did not flop around while hiking through town or on the trail, thanks to the additional side strap. It was really comfortable wear. The bag seems to protect the camera well and my small tripod stays put in the exterior side pocket. The main pocket has plenty of space for a camera and two reasonable sizes lenses (mine are a 55 to 250 telephoto and wide angle lens), but this is where the one thing I don’t like came into play. Although it has adjustable pads, you are pretty much limited to the configuration with the camera in the middle. I tried many different options to place the camera in another position to give space for an additonal lens, but just wouldn’t work. Not enough to take a star off, but a little annoying. The secondary pocket on top has space for large flash, lens covers, and/or remote if needed, but would not be good for additional lenses. Would be nice if you could add a divider to it.Other than those minor items, it is a great bag for a good price. We will see how it holds up over the next several months and give an update then.

    Nice pack, great for lefties

Let me start with the little bit I don’t like. I should have noticed in the picture but when you swing the pack from your back to your waist it is on the left side, kind of my fault but it would have been nice to be able to switch sides. The other thing is it’s a bit smaller than I was hoping for. It’s definitely ok because it fits all my stuff just smaller than I thought.Ok now that I got that out of the way. I bought this pack to get my new DSLR off a shelf and into something to protect it a bit. I also wanted to get everything in one spot so when I decide to shoot a video I don’t have to grab 37 different things, I exaggerate a bit. Here’s what I got in this thing, Canon T6i w/kit lens, Rode Video Mic Go, LimoStudio LED light with adapter and battery, and a dual mount for my mic and light. It took a bit to make the mount fit just because of the awkward size but I was able to make it fit.My next pack/bag for my camera will have to be bigger but this one will definitely do for now.

Had a small defect, but Digital Goja took care of it immediately!

I posted a review right after I bought this backpack explaining the slight defect that the product had. I wasn’t too worried about the problem because it wasn’t a big deal, but customer service at Digital Goja responded to the review immediately offering to replace or refund the product. I really appreciate their promptness and great service! I give them a full 5 stars even though the product deserves only 3 stars. I split the difference and give 3 stars overall. This sling backpack is okay: there’s quite a bit of room for the camera, a couple lenses, a speedlite, extra batteries, etc. It’s well padded and fits comfortably over my shoulder, as well. However, on the first road trip I took it on, I pulled on the bottom tab and it pulled right off. I didn’t even have to pull very hard at all. The stitching was very poorly done. I checked the other tabs and straps and they all seemed fine; it was just that one. I’m not going to send it back because that bottom tab isn’t very important to me, but I can’t give the product an unqualified recommendation, either.

Convenient, comfortable, keeps camera + accs safe for cheap: complete win!

I love this bag. I’ve taken it on hikes and photo-trips through cities and I’m thrilled with its ease of access, customizability, and relative comfort. I find that it’s actually more comfortable if I don’t have the cross-body strap clicked in. After a while of having my camera and a telescopic lens, cleaning kit and a small booklet the bag does wear a little on my right shoulder, but I’m also out of practice with hiking with any amount of extra weight. I love the way it looks; it came as advertised, and I haven’t found any defects in the body or pockets. I haven’t tried tying on my tripod to it (yet) but I’ll report back if there are any issues. It *would* be nice if I could use it on my other shoulder, but the handle is comfortable enough that I can switch to a hand-carry for a while if I really need a break (which I’ve only done once, and it was while I was in a very warm Powell’s). I was concerned that the bag wouldn’t wear well on my body, as I’m 6’0″ and a little busty, 155 lbs., but it wears marvelously. The interior customizable padding also makes me feel at ease, knowing that my camera and accessories are safe even if it gets jostled. I love, love, love this and I’m so glad I decided to get it.

” AN ALMOST PERFECT CAMERA BACKPACK/SLING!!!!

I like that you can carry a SONY camera body and a small lens in the TOP of the BackPack/Sling! you have room for another camera body and two lenses OR 3 lenses ( smaller lenses ) This Backpack is NOT flimsy. I also like the thick protective VELCRO padding that you can arrange any way you like. The sling feature allows you to use it whether you are RIGHT HANDED or LEFT HANDED. Another feature that I like about this BackPack/Sling is that it has “SONY” printed On the TOP zippered compartment and the ALPHA symbol on the bottom front in Orange. I also like that the INTERIOR of the Backpack is ORANGE. Easy to see in Low Light!

I’d bought an Altura item before….

Well, I have to admit that I am surprised at the quality of this considering it was priced low enough to be like crack to an addict… I bought some Altura camera lens bags before and was impressed with the quality of material and stitching… and this is in the same vein…. The material looks really good and I would think it will last very well. The ONLY nit pick I would have with this is that I wish it was just a touch larger.. I CAN fit my mirrorless camera with a 40-150 zoom and another camera with a 60mm macro on it though…. plus I can attach a selfie stick with a mini tripod on it so I’m not THAT disappointed : ) This will be great for bike rides when I want to bring a couple cameras with me if I happen on a cool picture scene…. I can recommend this as a buy.

    Perfect camera bag for me

This bag meets my needs better than any of the other bags I’ve tried. For its modest size, it holds a lot. I carry a DSLR body and four lenses (including a wide angle and a 70-300 zoom), a charger and extra camera battery, a small flash, a lens cleaning kit, two flashlights (white light and red light), a variety of small accessories, and a smallish tripod. Over the last year-and-a-half, this bag has gone with me to Europe twice, the Arctic Circle, the dark clear skies of west Texas, the Black Hills of South Dakota, the National Parks of Utah, the beaches of coastal Oregon, on several local photo hikes, and to the pumpkin patches and bluebonnet fields for photos of my granddaughter. It has held up extremely well (but I’m a careful guy). It’s great to know that I have everything I need in one easy-to-carry bag. It slings comfortably over my shoulder, and swings around in front of me for quick and easy access. No rain cover, but I don’t go out shooting in the rain, so I guess it doesn’t matter. Everyone’s needs are different. But for me, this sling bag is as close to perfection as I’m ever gonna find.

This is a great bag, but…

I truly love this bag. I’ve had it for about three months now and use it every time I bring my camera gear. I have a Nikon D5600 and Polaroid 600 and was able to reorganize the bag to fit them both. I also carry a 70 to 300 mm lens for my D5600 and managed to fit it all in the main compartment. My small flexible tripod fits on the side and I hold my cleaning kit and other personal items in the smaller compartment. Recently, however, I did notice that a part of bag’s strap started to rip off. I was wondering why there was loose thread on the bottom part of the strap and realized that it was slowly ripping off. I don’t exactly know if it was loose from the beginning or if it was own doing. Overall, this is an amazing bag that I will continue to bring on all my trips, but just make sure that you don’t have any lose threads when you receive it.

    Could use a heftier lining

This compact, inexpensive, and relatively well-made soft bag is the perfect size for my new mirrorless Canon R8, a few lenses, and accessories. Still, the outer padding should be more capable of withstanding a blow. Used as a backpack, I would worry about hitting things accidentally, but used as a sling bag, with the bag in front, it will suit my needs. Some documentation for configuring the interior would have been helpful and contributed to the positive impression of the product.

like the guy in the photo w/ the bag on …

As one of the recent reviewers stated, the bag is small; like the guy in the photo w/ the bag on his back must be 5’5″ = short! I am 6’4″, under 200 lbs. Since I do but alpine & desert backcountry photo-shoots – being a geologist – all my outdoor gear is small, light & top-Q including cameras.I bought this bag for my end of April adventure to S-UT/N-AZ btw Zion & the Wave, Paria River area to carry a mirror-less camera, p&s camera, filters, lens hood, power-pack charger, 1 TB OTG ext-HD, extra batteries & a 8″ Android tablet w/ 32 GB/64GB card I use as a Wi-Fi or OTG-USB wired remote/LCD & a pix-backup. I have a great Osprey day-pack, I’ve been using but needed quicker access & mainly protection from the silt for my gear. I was in the same area last year, it was windy & the silt destroyed a friends Canon w/ a zoom lens in 12 h!This April (2016), the wind blew 30-50 mph for 3 days! My friend has a WP FX-DSLR & 16-24 mm WA lens (nothing moves outside) & kept his expensive toy in a bag. It was clear & sunny so we left our 70″ tall tripods in his big & high Jeep-rig & walked through the surreal place from 8 AM till 2 PM taking HDR/bracketed mode pix & putting/keeping our cameras in the bags.Had lunch/siesta till 6 PM & headed back for sunset/afterglow shots till 9:30 PM w/ tripods.I didn’t use the Altura bag at this time having the camera on the tripod & covered w/ a large ziplock bag. I took the Osprey w/ a jacket, water & snacks instead. The wind gusts were 60-70 mph by then, trying to knock over my tripod w/ the backpack hung under it.We took 1500 shots & most of them turned out great. The Altura bag is light & padded, w/ large & rough zippers & of good Q. The small E-lens camera barely fits up top w/ the filters & w/out hood. The middle section held the gear mentioned above. However, the velcro in the modular padded separators is cheep & nasty. One cannot move it but rip it w/ force to adjust the shape & size of the compartments. So, the bag has to be empty. My friend’s FX size camera w/ the 5″ long lens would take up the entire mid part & accessories would have hardly room up top.The biggest gripe, however, I have is w/ the diagonal strap going around the torso. The bag won’t stay on your shoulder w/out it, front or back. I had it on my chest due to the wind (take a shot & zip it up) & my friend hat to help me to get it around me & snap it (my waist is but 33″, BTW). Very poorly designed. Both the wide & comfy shoulder strap & the wrap-around are way too short for a grown man above 6′ – I had it maxed-out w/ a tight fit. Even a bit shorter but more rotund guy than me won’t fit into it.The maker seems eager to please its customers, so, here it goes. This is a ‘S’ size item (USA & most of EU) for small women & men. Make ‘M’ & ‘L’ versions, redesign the straps, use water & silt repellent material on the bag (it’s supposed to protect expensive gear!), better Q velcro, even charge a bit more – & you have a winner.Break down: **** for padding & lightness & no silt inside the bag at the end of the day; *** for small size; ** stars for short & awkward strap; * for bad Q velcro. There you have it.Robert of Prague

Nice but poor quality fabric, does not last

I have now owned two of these Altura bags. I bought them for my A6600/A6000 camera bodies and zoom lenses (70-350mm/18-135). I love the size of this bag-hate carrying a big camera bag. However, this bag, like most of the other camera bags on the market, sadly lack durable vinyl. Please check out the Swiss (red cross logo) backpack sold at a major large box store for less than this price, but with tough fabric that will never rip, and with zippers that won’t fail. Other reviewers have pointed out that the padding is not thick, and this is an example of less than stellar construction. I would love to see the Swiss backpack makers create a camera bag with their tough vinyl fabric because photographers are putting thousands of dollars of equipment into these far less than adequate bags. And note, the company has had years of reviews that point out these issues, and has not made changes.

Decent, but still kind of weak.

It’s a good little bag if you’re using a smaller camera and (obviously) not much gear. However if you’re using a camera with a battery grip, putting it in the bag gets a little tight. Also, even before I got the battery grip, the seams of this bag dont last very long if you use this a lot.

Right size, easy access, good protection

I bought this to safely store my Sony ZVE10 and it’s accessories. It’s a very sturdy bag that holds all my accessories with easy access. I use the camera mostly inside for shooting videos but when I travel, it’s very easy to pull the camera out without opening the entire bag. Straps increase the security and safety. Good camera bag for hikes

This camera bag seems to be a pretty good all around bag. I am able to keep my Nikon D90 with a 18-300mm lens and battery grip in the main camera compartment. I also have two additional lenses that I carry in the adjustable lens pouches. My lightweight tripod secures to the side of the bag with an adjustable strap and stretch strap along with a pouch on the bottom of the bag on that side.I bought this bag so when out family goes out on our “road trips” I would have something to carry my camera equipment comfortably on hikes and such. There is a pocket above the main camera storage that can hold additional batteries, SD cards, cables, etc. I am a larger person (old and fat…lol) I have a 56″ chest and 44″ waist, and this bag fits me without any discomfort. It is, I believe, a “sling” style bag. The additional chest strap holds it in place nicely when hiking. It is well padded to protect your items within.Overall, I am happy with this camera bag. It is probably not for the professional, but it works well for my needs.

    Smaller and thinner than expected

Had a hard time fitting 2 lens and my camera with the lens on in the pack using the velcro compartments. I did get them all to fit and made sure the zipper were on the top of the pack and not the side. Smaller than it looks in the photo. Fits nicely on my back and I’m 5’0. My husband can use it too and he’s 6’2. Good for quick hiking trips outdoors, but would recommend something more sturdy for longer trips.

“Sling pack” well made, but ended up not working well for me

Their more common backpacks are very nice and top notch. But this type of “sling pack” seems like a good idea but ended up being not very practical for me, and I’ll be going back to a backpack.Sling Pros:- looks attractive and is well made like their other products- padded places for a fair amount of gear in a small sizeSling Cons:- doesn’t really fit well. Even after adjustments, too tight. Does not fit on shoulder well, feels awkward even when worn correctly.- not a good fit for a woman in particular, even if a bit flat chested.- the whole “keep it in the bag – need to take a picture – quick access” idea, it just doesn’t work. You would be just as fast (if not faster) in taking a normal backpack off of your back, opening the top, and pulling it out.If you have used a camera sling pack like this before and liked it this would still be a good purchase . I would give this sling 3 stars personally, but their quality across the product line is top notch and I will get a backpack version instead. Goja’s customer service is 5 stars, so I’ll round this review up to 4 stars.

    Thankful

After reading other reviews, it’s apparent that many DSLR users don’t understand the purpose of this bag. For most people, this bag is NOT intended to hold all of your camera gear. This bag was designed to give you enough room for the gear you need to move & shoot, in a way that gives you access without having to put the bag down. And it does this very well. For most of your mobile photography needs you really only need a good 2 lenses on hand, maybe 3, but that’s a stretch. This bag allows for that. If you’re looking for a bag to function as a place to store all of your gear, this is not for you. Even if all of your stuff fits, this isn’t a sit on the shelf, organize all your things kind of bag. There’s better options for that.Anyway, this bag so far is great for the action. I love that I no longer have to think about where I’ll put my bag once I take the camera out to use it. It stays right on your chest and when you’re done it slides right onto your back. Easy. So far my only gripe is with the product information with the bag. I had to go online and spend 10 minutes looking for instructions. I would have preferred a quick reference chart.
