Serves the purpose, better if you could attach a ball head.

I bought it for the height, I’m a tall person. It serves it purose , but it would be better to have the option for attaching a ball head.

    Good for the price

Good for the price. Not a beefy premium pro piece of equipment you will be using day in and day out to earn money, but completely adequate and solid enough to be fully useful for quite a while. Well priced for what it is.

    So impressed, I bought two

Well made, light weight and the price is fantastic. I bought two to leave in each car so I always have it with me when I need it. Also useful to use as a walking stick (emergency use only, I wouldn’t use it as a walking stick on a permanent basis.)

I kinda hate they want reviews, before you ever get to use the item. I will update, if there is something wrong, but it’s attached to my Canon, and first response is, it’s a good support for my camera.

You get what you pay for.

Over all, you get what you paid for. This is a very light and compact monopod. The extendable segments of the pole itself move smoothly for ease of adjustment but the top camera anchor is terrible. The shoe that mounts to the camera is very loose when it clips in to the top of the monopod. Both front to back and lateral movement are a proplem when you are expecting a somewhat stable shooting platform. It does make a passable walking stick though. Save your money and by something better, you won’t regret passing this one up. It’s inexpensive and if all you need is limited functionality this might be ok.

Works Great for Camera’s with Big Lens

I found after ordering my 2.8 70 – 200 mm lens, my camera was heavy. This adjustable stick works well for using my camera. I like it. Glad I purchased it.

    Excellent for the Money

This Monopod is light and easy to use. It is a bit flimsy on the lower end on the foot. I used mine for a year when recently the bottom pad came off and the last leg jammed up inside and I wasn’t able to pull it back out. Thus, it shortened the length of the momopod. I liked it so well, that I have ordered another one to replace it.

Compact & perfect for sporting events

I love this monopod!!! Compact enought to fit in my backpack and stabilizes my camera while giving me mobility to take action shots at my daughters soccer games and dance competitions without being in the way of people walking by!! I’m able to adjust height for either sitting or standing.I definitely recommend this product.

    Works as Described

Unfortunately I needed one with handle at bottom to use with camcorder. No way to click camera shutter from extended position & dislike spike BUT for what it’s made to do, it seems sturdy for smaller camera but not large dslr’s. Plenty of size adjusters for height, just what I needed for over & under shots but my DSLR is too heavy to use at full extension. I’m going to add a handle on the bottom for my needs. BYW the spike is retractable which is a major plus for me.

Worked well, but got no more than 5 uses out of it.

It worked well enough – though I consider it to be flimsy in the telescoping section. There’s too much flex/bend for my preference.I give this 2 stars because the mounting plate broke while the camera was mounted in the monopod. I believe it was no more than the 5th time I had take it out for photographing the kids’ soccer games. It is now effectively useless, as the camera will not remain securely mounted. At this point, I do not recommend this product. If I have to buy another, I will purchase a different one that is stronger and sturdier. I am reaching out to the vendor who sold this to investigate remedies. (i.e. replacement mounting plate)This review is solely for the product in question, and does not reflect any opinions regarding the Amazon Marketplace seller. As appropriate, I’ll post reviews of their service against their reseller account.

Purchased as a gift and I was totally amazed at the quality of a $15 monopod

Purchased as a gift and I was totally amazed at the quality of a $15 monopod. It is made of a good quality metal, the locks work well, and the legs slide quite smoothly. The camera attachment releases quite easily and locks securely. It will be interesting to see how it holds up, but from the looks of it out of the box, it should be fine for light to medium duty. The carry bag is lightweight nylon, but should hold up fairly well. Hard to beat for $15. The box was a little “meh”, but that’s not what I was paying for.

Good & Stout…… for the Price Point

I bought this monopod exclusively for it extreme range of heights. I attached it to a 11 pound crossbow as a steady rest and because of the 5 section adjustment, I can use this monopod while sitting on the ground or standing. I found the clamps hold, the monopod does not bend…….. overall it is highly recommended.

  22. Eusebius

This Monopod is GOOD and it’s more than a monpod

I take a lot of wildlife photos (frequently with a telephoto lens) and many times it is impractical to carry a tripod into the woods on a hike and this monopod solves helps the problem in a number of ways.- It extends and locks anywhere from its collapsed length of 21” all the way up to 72” (higher than a standard tripod) and this makes it so much easier to use the cameras viewfinder and focus without bending or hunching down to camera level on a standard tripod.- The quick release head securely locks the camera into the monopod. It’s easy and fast to break out the monopod, extend it, and snap the camera into the mount if the subject you’re looking at might move away.- The 4-section leg is STURDY. I can extend the sections to make up any length I want and the locking mechanisms are strong.- At 10-ounces it’s incredibly light.AND HERE’S WHAT ELSE IT DOES: because the monopod has a cushioned grip and a wrist loop and the leg is so strong and rigid, I can easily use the monopod as a hiking stick. There’s no need to carry it separately even though it comes with a carry bag.I only wish the tripod and monopod designers would agree on a standard quick release head. As it is, the heads on my two tripods and on this monopod are each different. If they were all the same, I could quickly switch between tripods and monopod with no fuss. But that’s something the manufacturers will have to work out between them.Bottom line: I love this monopod!

VERY Nice Monopod for the Money

Purchased this 72″ Monopod for $15 from ECost and fulfilled by Amazon. I was expecting junk due to the low cost but I now see that it is a great buy! It actually comes in a retail box instead of wrapped in a gob of plastic like most stuff you get on Amazon nowadays. I like that. My first impressions are real good about this.PROS:1. Good quality construction. Everything fits tightly.2. Nice and Sturdy. Very little flex in the tubes when fully extended. Various components all seem to be of a heavy enough gauge.to take normal wear and tear.3. Nice foam grip!4. Great 72″ height for us tall folk!5. Easily can handle a medium weight DSLR. No problemo!CONS:1. A lot of the construction is plastic so it will fail sooner or later but the gauge is heavy so it will probably take a beating okay.2. The D-ring on the quick release head is small and difficult to access for us folk with big fingers.3. Found just one REAL FLAW in the construction though. It is where the head attaches to the metal leg tube . This held together with just ONE tiny self-tapping screw. (see photo) Totally inadequate! And to add insult to injury the person in China who assembled it placed the screw too high on the sleeve and missed the metal leg! The head just falls off! A ‘normal’ person would probably send it back as defective but I can fix that easy with some epoxy and 2 screws properly set in the head/leg joint. An elephant won’t be able to pull it apart when I’m finished! LOL I would give it 5 stars except for this one fault.SUMMARY: I really like this monopod! I’m sure it will work just fine. I could break it if I wanted to but I’d have to work at it. OH! For you that wonder about the spike tip … you can rotate the rubber boot down to cover it … so your Linoleum floors are safe!

This monopod is the best, lightweight

This monopod looked like exactly what I needed, but after using it off and on for about 1 1/2 yrs, it has become unstable. The “quick connect” feature can no longer hold my camera & lens steady. I have tightened the screw on the connector to the point where I’m afraid it will strip the threads. Also, I have tightened the adapter that fits the bottom of my zoom lens, to no avail. What happens now, is that immediately after I have focused on a subject, release my grip on the lens to snap picture, the lens falls about 1/2″ and I miss my shot. Extremely frustrating. I feel the monopod was misrepresented to me. The connector and adapter are made of plastic and they cannot hold up to even minimal use. The connector should have been constructed of metal. I would never buy from this seller again!

Snap buckles may break easy. Not able to hold heavy equipment

The lowest section of the pole was jammed and could not be extended fully at first. I used great force to pull it out and it is still catching something inside. The snap buckles, I think are made of cheap (or recycle) plastic that may break overtime especially if it is in a hot and dry weather. The weight of equipment that it can hold depends on how tight of the snap buckles can hold. It holds my setup but does not give me confidence at all. Returning it.

72″ Monopod with Quick Release did it all for a small price. Some DIY tweaks will make it foolproof.

This Review is for the 72″ Monopod. I did not read every of the 450 reviews (as of 5/15), but the 72″ monopod makes up about 8% of the total reviews, the others for the 50″ and 72″ tripods. To save you time, all the monopod reviews were 4’s and 5’s.I used the monopod for a two day conference, in and out of rooms all day, and 700 shots. My camera is not a DSLR, but a much lighter Canon SX50 Superzoom (23 oz).The best:-Black color for less distraction-quick and quiet leg extension and locking mechanisms-quick release for packing camera or battery/SD card exchangeThe worst:-the quick release base that screws into the camera was built smaller than most, but it still covered my batt/SD compartment, so I had to unscrew it each time I accessed the compartment. Your camera may not have an issue, but I imagine most bottom-accessible compartments will. It is not a deal breaker and I do not see how any quick release can avoid covering a bottom compartment.-the set screw that holds the mount sleeve to the monopod shaft failed and the camera flew off halfway through the conference. Luckily it was not a huge drop and it was on carpet. A little masking tape made the connection very tight, and it did not separate thereafter. Upon inspection, the undersized set screw was only 1 mm from the edge, and that is where the aluminum failed. You have 25 mm of space to put in a set screw, why place it 1 mm from the edge???!!!I will reposition the set screw and maybe even add a second for security. Perhaps you should too before taking it to the field.Overall, it was a great value for the little amout of time I will be using the monopod. It was the perfect tool for steadying indoor zoomed shots while being fast on its feet in and out of small rooms. A tripod would have been too bulky and clumsy. Another plus is that you can easily raise it above crowds and get 9-10′ shots.

Cheap, but it still works pretty well.

Welp. I’d say it’s just about as good as you’re going to get for the price. The quick release lever will allow the plate to move up a little if you pull on that side of your camera while it’s mounted, but it still feels pretty solid. I wouldn’t feel secure holding the monopod with my smaller camera (a Nikon D3300) on top though, and I definitely wouldn’t do that with a medium sized DSLR (I checked it with a nikon D70). The poles are definitely snap-able, but like the saying goes “doctor, it [breaks] when I do this”, “so, don’t do that”. They are built well enough, and on the plus side, the monopod makes up for lack of strength by being light as all getout. The mounting plate can be a problem. The part on the bottom that you hold to screw into your camera won’t fold back into the plate depending on how it’s positioned when tight. It’ll fold back with my camera, but just barely. There’s probably an easy way to fix this with a little creativity though. The wrist strap was about as poorly made as they usually are on Chinese products, but the hand grip feels nice. I just wouldn’t go rubbing it on a stone wall or anything. I did have to send it back because of a crack in one of the leg locks, but that seems to be the gamble you have to take when buying cheap stuff. I still got another, though, because in order to get a strong monopod that extends beyond midget level (okay, I mean above 57 inches) you have to pay upward of $50! the thing about these cheapies is (besides how light they are) if you break them, then no big deal. I’m not ready to spend $60-$70 bucks on a “professional” monopod, so I’ll stick with this until it breaks. It will probably end up lasting me years. 🙂

    Amazing for the price

I’ve had this for a couple of years now and I keep it in my car at all times. I haven’t used it with a heavy camera/lens but I use it all the time my small camera. I also bought a cell-phone adapter for it, and use it to steady my cell-phone when I don’t have a camera handy, such as when the sunset looks nice and I’m losing daylight, so I don’t want to drive home to get my camera but I do want to take the best picture possible.Update: After 3 years, the top is getting a little wobbly, but considering how cheap it was, and the fact that I’ve just been throwing it in the back seat and never putting it in a bag or anything, it was worth the 12 bucks I spent.

    Unique multi purpose monopod.

Great device for someone who wants a light adjustable walking stick for hiking on trails and also a 6 foot or less monopod for taking telephotos. Although not heavy duty, it appears durable and strong enough for all but the most dedicated mountain hikers who need something that supports a lot of weight (I am 170 lbs) or a camera with a very long and heavy telephoto lens. Camera attaches and detaches to and from the monopod quickly. Similarly, the monopod adjusts quickly for hiking. Unique rubber tip and sharp metal point that also adjusts quickly while remaining on the monopod. The monopod comes with a bag and cord which allows you to sling the monopod over your shoulder when not using the walking stick for balance. Great “bang for the buck.”

    Good Product, Great Price

I really like this product. I have used it a few times, and it is very sturdy. The height is very good and adjustable for whatever you are needing it for. It is taller than me (5’9″) when it is as tall as it will go. The only thing that is a little annoying is the connector, the piece you turn is a little difficult and gets stuck sometimes. But it really isn’t an issue because you can just turn the entire piece to connect the camera. For the price, this is a great way to stabilize your camera.

This monopod gets the job done. This my first monopod so keep that in mind when reading this review. Ive been getting more work as a photographer so I thought I should have one. Then I a had to shoot a baby shower in small center with 100 people cramped inside. The monopod was essential.QUALITYNot bad. The only issue i had was when I was shooting without image stabilization the was a lot of shaking in the video and some blurry photos also.

The quick connect isn’t the best as it doesn’t provide an audible click when it’s connected. For the price this is an excellent monopod. I wouldn’t use it when I have some expensive equipment to connect but for a stabilizer for a set of binoculars it works.

I suppose it would suffice for that.I didn’t hate it (1 star), but I didn’t like it (2).As soon as I unbagged it, I knew it was going to get returned. Tactical monopod

This is an awesome product that I’ve gotten a lot of use out of. It’s much quicker to assemble and use than my tripod. If you shoot with a telephoto or smaller zoom lens and you need to be mobile and quick on the draw this is great. It’s definitely tall enough for me to use and I’m 6’2″. Height Perfect everything else a Bust

The height is excellent. It’s light weight but could stand to be just a hair thicker for durability. Biggest disappointment is I can’t remove their head to use my fluid mount and I can’t remove the spike tip to use a base. It renders this completely useless so I will have to return it unfortunately because the height is why I bought it. Most monopods give that option do I didn’t think twice about it not having those abilities. If that was changed I would definitely consider it in the future.

    Not for heavy use.

For the price it will fill in in a pinch, Love the max height, light weight, and rubber foot with spike. Plastic head and qr camera plate, accessing the screw under the plate is a little tight.,flexes a little when fully extended but the locks do work and prevent it from closing when pushing down to prevent sliding.

Low Cost, High Value!! Good quality!!

The quality exceeds the price by far and I even got one for myself and my dad. I have used it at major league stadiums where they allow you to bring in a mono pod but not a tripod and I have to say that again the quality is much higher then the price would lead you to believe. I’m sure you can get a higher quality version for a lot more money but I’m not sure why you would because this one definitely does the job for a low cost.

I am a mid-range photographer and I want my photos to be as sharp as possible. In some situations a tripod isn’t feasible but I still need to make sure the camera is being held steady. A great value, BUT!

I like the quick release, the quick locking legs and the price, BUT the quick release is for a SMALL camera. My Sony RX10 is too heavy to be stable and it won’t allow to use my back tilt screen. Lastly, fully extended, the smallest leg is unstable and the strap is “el cheapo!”Conclusion: a great value for a small monopod but needs to be used with a small camera and avoid using the smallest leg fully extended.

6ft With A GoPro and Camera

We needed a monopod for a trip that would be sturdy enough, yet light weight, to carry on a trip. I ordered this pod and with its (3) adjustable transitions and a looped padded wrist strap, it fits snuggly in the hand. Also, the bottom of the stick has a small spike making it a nicely balanced walking stick. The delivery was fast and shipping was perfect. All in all a great companion for the GoPro, camera phone and DLSR.
