Super sharp and clear monitor
I really like this monitor! It’s super thin and light but has a fantastic image. It was super easy to set up – just plug and play. The image is nice and crisp and so easy on the eyes. I really can’t get over how thin it is – like 3 sticks of gum. The quality of the image is actually a noticeable improvement over the Dell monitor it replaced. The only drawback I might see is that there is no option to use a VESA mount – only the included stand. To me that’s a disappointment since I would have loved to pick up a few more to replace the 4 VESA mounted monitors on my main display. Aside from the VESA limitation – a very nice monitor!

Such A Great Monitor
This monitor is very nice, I just needed a small one for my secondary computer that I use for business needs. This was so easy to adjust the monitor to make it align with the desk I had it on perfectly. It has good color to it and its crystal clear. I haven’t used a monitor in awhile since most of mine are hdtvs, but this one is well worth it though. Its a good price for what you get and looks nice. Backed by a good brand as well so you can rest assure. Honestly the stand was my favorite part though because I have neck issues so to be able to adjust this for the perfect angle was the biggest winning feature to me.

Great bargain monitor!
I got this for my son’s laptop – he wanted a bigger screen for his gaming. It’s not a 4K monitor, but it’s 1080p. His only connects via HDMI. No lag, great colors and visuals. For a monitor under $100, this is a really decent choice, especially for what he’s using it for, which also gets him off the family TV and into his room to play his games.

This is a very, very nice monitor at a very nice price.
What an excellent monitor at a reasonable cost! The first one impressed me so much that I purchased a second. Now I am working with two monitors of the same size and quality in my office. The picture is sharp and clear, and the speakers on this “ultra-thin” monitor are adequate. With an adjustable height, the stand tilts to meet your needs. The frame is barely perceptible, and the picture extends to nearly every edge around. Setup was very easy. There are no drivers. This is a plug-and-play device with VGA and HDMI options. This monitor is very, very nice, and it is very reasonably priced.

Great pakaging.
Its pakaging was great. It kept the monitor safe whike shipping. I have not tested it yet to is how clear or adjustible it is, or even if there is ghosting or not. I just know that when I showed the specs to one of my PC Technition friends he said it should last me a long time. So 5 stars for it comming saffley.

Disappointed
I opted for this monitor because I needed integrated speakers. They are so low and weak that I can barely hear anything on 100 volume. I ended up connecting external speakers anyway and could have purchased something better in this price point.

This monitor is NOT VESA compliant! It has no way to attach anything to the back of it!
Seller said it was VESA compatible but it has no way to mount it on the wall! So seller has no idea what they are selling!! Pitiful! Now I have to send this one back and but another and hope that the one that’s going bad lasts until one from a different vendor arrives! There is no excuse for a seller to NOT KNOW the product that they are selling!

Not VESA Compatible
Unlike the description, this is not VESA compatible. Attempted to attach it to my dual mounting arms (despite there only being two screw holes) and now it is stuck on my mounting arms. The screws do not screw in all the way so it’s wobbly and it won’t unscrew. I tried using a screwdriver, pliers, etc. Probably solid if you don’t plan to mount it, but useless if you do want to. Total false advertisement.

NO SWIVEL/TILTThis product is NOT SWIVEL/TILT ADJUSTABLE as it says in the title as well as description. It’s all false description. I got this on cyber Monday. Now, my deal is also gone. I don’t understand why it’s full of lies in the description and title. I would give negative/ ZERO stars for the false description and title. It’s only height adjustable. That’s it.

The description lies about being VESA compatible
This is in no way VESA compatible, the description clearly states it is in several places. Acer’s official spec also says it is, but it only has two holes on the back, which are too shallow in any case, so it is completely incompatible with VESA and Acer is lying about it.

A good budget monitor.
This is a good monitor, the picture quality is good and the colors are displayed accurately. The built-in speakers are the worst part of the monitor, the sound quality just isn’t good but they do the job. You can use other speakers for audio with this monitor through its audio jack. Headphones work with it too.The monitor comes with all of the necessary parts to use it. It includes a power cable, a HDMI cable, and an audio cable to link to your desktop or laptop. You’ll need to build the stand for it. It is designed to be assembled without tools which is convenient. The monitor snaps onto the stand and stays locked into place. The stand’s height can be adjusted and it can swivel so you can get the viewing angle you need. The monitor has a lot of settings that you can change to adjust the picture quality and colors. It has several presets that you can switch to on the fly and it includes a custom mode so you can adjust the settings yourself. You can turn off the AMD Freesync if you having issues with it or if you just find it unnecessary. Personally, I didn’t notice a difference with it on but that might just be because my computer doesn’t have an AMD graphics card. I never had screen tearing occur while using this monitor. There is a night mode that helps reduce the blue light from the monitor but I’ve found that Windows’s built in night mode works fine. This feature of the monitor is there for older PCs that don’t have Windows 10 or 11. The monitor has a VGA port for older PCs that don’t use HDMI.There is also a mode that helps make black and dark colors look better. Personally, I thought my laptop screen still presented these colors better than this monitor even with this enhancement setting. It’s definitely an improvement over not using the feature though. One very irritating thing about this monitor is that it emits a high-pitched noise when it’s off. I don’t know what causes this but others I have asked have noticed it too even when listening from afar. I always unplug the monitor when I’m not using it just to stop the noise.Overall I think this is a great budget monitor and should work fine for most of your PC needs.

A very capable monitor at an excellent price but lacking a real VESA mount
What you need to know at a glance:* This is a very capable monitor at an excellent price* It’s very thin and lightweight* The refresh rate of 100MHz is a higher refresh rate than most, certainly at this price* The built in menu system and controls work well* It has VGA and HDMI which is an interesting combination of ports but worked for me* It has a very thin bezel at the top and two sides of the screen* Sound quality from the built in speakers is underwhelming* Although the product page indicates it has a VESA mount it’s a stretch to call it thatI ordered this monitor to replace an older one that was mounted to my wall in my office. I have an old dock that only supports VGA out so this monitor met that need while also having an HDMI port which I wanted to use for a ROKU so that it could double as a basic TV. When I unboxed the monitor I was impressed with how thin and lightweight it is and how thin the bezel around the screen is. Then the fun began. I removed the VESA mount from my old monitor to attach it to the Acer monitor, but it only had two holes, not 4 like there should be for a VESA mount. The manual does not even reference a VESA mount and a quick Google search showed many others asking questions about this, and Acer support apparently not being very helpful. Also, the screws I had were too long for the shallow holes. I was able, by using two rubber washers, to mount my existing VESA mount to the monitor and because it’s very lightweight it was stills secure and I was able to mount it on the wall. The menu system is relatively intuitive and works well and the screen looks great. The picture quality is very nice. The speakers are what passes for monitor speakers – with lots of treble and little bass so that everything sounds like it was recorded in a metal trash can. I was able to connect a ROKU to the HDMI port and while the sound isn’t great, the picture quality was and the addition of some basic speakers will, I have no doubt, result in a practical, useable TV for very occasional use in our guest room.Overall this is a very capable monitor at an excellent price, but be aware of the VESA mount issue and the underwhelming sound produced by the speakers. For under $100 though this is an exceptional monitor.

OK budget monitor
Given the price and size, this can get 4 stars. There is nothing fancy about this monitor. I got this to upgrade a 22in monitor, also an Acer. I can say that it does look better than my old one I got a few years ago. The backlighting is very inconsistent but you don’t notice unless it is a very dark scene. There is no VESA mount, my previous one didn’t have one either. No DisplayPort. It does have some little speakers that sound like little speakers, this is a plus if you need integrated speakers. The viewing angle is pretty good and the glare is improved over my previous model. It’s a thin unit mostly and the stand is kinda cool, but it has a large footprint. As my title says, it’s a decent budget monitor. I’m not a gamer so I’m not testing any fps or Hz claims.

Bright and clear, but major brightness uniformity problems
This 1080p monitor is bright, clear, and flicker-free. But I’m seeing some major problems with the uniformity of the display brightness. The attached full-screen photos were taken from about 2′ away, from head-on, left, and right. There is a significant dark zone left of center, and intensity dropoff away from the center of the viewer’s position. The close-up photo shows backlights intruding into the display, in the area below the dark zone. There could be a lot to like here, especially for the price, but I think there are some production quality issues to work out.

Excellent value monitor
This is a very good monitor for every day work or casual use. It is an excellent quality monitor for the price. The display is sharp, clear, has good contrast, and there is no obvious visible defects or inconsistencies in the display image. It is good for moderate gaming also.

Good picture, good value but no DisplayPort
If you need FreeSync/variable refresh and run Linux, you’ll want to pass on this. As far as I know, Nvidia and Intel GPUs won’t do FreeSync over HDMI 1.4, which means only certain AMD GPUs will support this configuration as there’s no DisplayPort. While I was able to get FreeSync working on Windows 11 with a small office-type Ryzen 5 PC, the same PC running Debian would not recognize the monitor as supporting VRR (I believe this is an HDMI licensing issue with Linux). So, I recommend looking elsewhere if you’re running Linux. The specs list the variable refresh range as 48Hz-100Hz, but only on Windows as of now. With that out of the way, how’s the monitor? For a value monitor, it’s fine. I found the picture quality and viewing angle to be very good. At 1920×1080 (max resolution), It has a max refresh of 100Hz, which is unexpected yet welcome. This helps compensate for the lack of proper VRR support as you can run games at 100 FPS on your PC which helps with input lag, even if you have to use vsync. At only 250 nits, this isn’t a bright monitor, so plan on using it in a dark room. There are built-in speakers, so the monitor can play audio that comes in through HDMI. You can also connect a 3.5mm audio source if using the VGA connector. The sound quality is… well, mediocre, as you’d expect. But hey, at least it’s there. The monitor comes with a nice stand that does elevation and tilt. It works well, and I was surprised to see this on a value monitor. However, alternative mounting options are a slight problem. There are only two holes in the back for mounting it to a VESA arm or other mount. There should be 4, as you’d find in a typical VESA mounting plate, but nope. Only 2 that are 75mm apart.. Fortunately, the monitor is quite light. I tried mounting it to an arm mount with only two screws, and it seems like it’s holding. But I’m going to leave it alone, as only two screws aren’t very secure in my opinion. An HDMI cable and a 3.5mm audio cable are included. The monitor is powered by the included 12V 2.5A power supply. Some folks may not like this, and I get that as I hate wall warts myself. But the good thing is if the power supply dies, you don’t have to trash the entire monitor. You can simply replace the power supply with another 12V one.The bottom line is, this monitor has a good picture and is a great value (why I gave it 5 stars) but don’t buy the monitor for the nearly non-existent FreeSync feature. However, a refresh rate of 100Hz is great, so for gaming that almost makes up for the FreeSync issue. But really, are you going to do any serious gaming with this monitor? No. So it really doesn’t matter much.

Great monitor at economical price + height adjustable
This is a great monitor for the price, especially being a name brand. Here’s what’s important: It’s big. It has good resolution (it’s sharp). The color is good out of the box. It’s solid. It has HDMI and VGA connections (no DisplayPort or DVI). It is height and tilt adjustable (which is more helpful than all the fancy stuff). It comes with an HDMI cable and an audio cable (audio rivals my laptop for weakness). It just works, and it easily adjusts to use comfortably in my space. It’s not a fancy monitor, but if you just need a basic monitor (or 2-3), this is an economical, reliable way to do it. So many monitors these days are aimed at gaming and have lots of expensive features that are really unnecessary for office work. It’s not curved or shiny, but I like that it’s neither. My only complaint is that the power cord is short and the plug-end is a large brick, rather than just the plug. It doesn’t fit well in a power strip.A few helpful notes: When attaching the post to the base, rotate the bottom until you see the little tab attached to the mounting screw. It will save you the time I spent trying to screw it on when you can’t rotate the post. Also, it’s not obvious, but there are buttons set back a little bit under the bottom right of the screen. The power symbol printed on the front of the screen is NOT a capacitive button like I assumed at first–you have to actually reach under to press a physical button. I’m not that stupid, but they are farther back than is intuitive. There is a manual, but it’s pretty basic and doesn’t really offer you any more advice than I just did.

Great value, nice picture!
This Acer monitor is a great value for the money and has a very nice picture quality for its price point. I appreciate the IPS display for doing some photo and video editing and its size and thinness means that it can easily go into spaces that have limited footprints.I cant say it would be great for gaming but it should be more than adequate to that task as well.

solid 1080p kid gaming monitor
I headlined this as a kid gaming monitor, but really it could be okay for anyone. The specs are accurate, it is super thin and lightweight, the colors are vibrant and there were no issues out of the box. Assembly only took a few moments with everything you need provided. It’s a smaller basic 1080p monitor with a higher than “office monitor” refresh rate.

Great Inexpensive Monitor
I’ve used a lot of inexpensive monitors over the last couple decades. For my own use and for office installations. This might be the best sub $100.00 monitors I’ve ever used. It’s blacks are black and the colors are bright. It handles action beautifully and is flicker free. I love the frameless design as well as the ability to adjust the height and tilt. This has earn a spot on my second office computer setup. You could call it the spare set up or the guest computer.Just a couple of things. One of the pictures on the product page claims that this is Vesa wall mountable but it is not. The sound which is very unimportant to me is very low and it only has HDMI and VGA inputs. Personally I’m a DP (Display Port) fan. These things don’t diminish my enthusiasm for this monitor. If you don’t want to shell out big bucks for a monitor but you want one that’s has a great image, this just might be the right one for you!

Beautiful picture
The media could not be loaded.
I mainly play my Switch docked at my gaming desk, and I’d been using an old 1080p monitor. Even though this is still 1080p, the difference is night and day. The Switch doesn’t output 4k anyway, but the picture on this monitor is gorgeous! The colors are vibrant, and the settings menu allows you to fine tune, but i found it perfect right out of the box. I honestly can’t tell the difference between my husband’s 4k monitor and this one. It’s simple to assemble the base to the monitor. The monitor raises up and down and tilts. I didn’t realize this had built in speakers so that was a pleasant surprise. The sound is clear, and if you want a boost there’s an audio out port to attach your own speakers. A power cable, audio cable, and hdmi cable were all included. The profile is slim and the monitor is light. It was very securely packaged and I received it in perfect condition. I’d been looking in stores locally to upgrade, but the price of most monitors of this size was almost double, so this is an incredible value for the quality you receive. I’m noticing details in my games I hadn’t before on my old monitor and I’m absolutely thrilled!

Wonderful all-around monitor
I am using this monitor as an extended monitor to accompany my 14 inch mbp and it works great for coding and occasional video streaming. The text is crisp and I like that this has an IPS panel with 100hz refresh rate. The setup was a breeze; it literally took me about 5 minutes to take out of the box and plug everything in.The monitor also has a built-in speaker, a nice surprise given the slim profile. The sound is okay for voice audio and some streaming videos but don’t expect thx certified sound. 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable is included with the package. The height adjustability is decent and just right for my height but some might need a riser if want to move into a higher position.Overall, this monitor is very thin–probably the thinnest 24″ I have seen. It also includes all cables you need to get started and the setup is very simple. Probably the best bang for your buck 24″ out there right now.

Great monitor!
This monitor is exactly what I was looking for! I wanted a monitor that would work well as a dual monitor with my laptop on a stand. This is great! I love that it has an adjustable height so I can get it to a similar height to my laptop stand. I only use it for work, but the display and graphics seem great.

NOT VESA COMPLIANT or CAPABLE
As othershae noted this monitor is NOT VESA Mount compatible or even capable. It is designed to use a special proprietary snap-in mount (which it comes with) however it cannot be attached to articulating monitor arms or other VESA compliant hardware. In addition it turns out that while there are companies out there who make specialized VESA adaptors for Acer monitors, none of them seem to make an adapator that will fit this particular model. It’s unclear if there might be one that fits but is simply not listed as compatible by the manufatcturer. This has been a big waste of time and extremely frustrating for me. Otherwise the monitors appear to worggreat.

This monitor is very thin but sturdy. It can be moved in multiple directions (up/down, forward/back, etc) to fit a variety of viewing angles. NO VESA mounting
I am very upset. I got this monitor on cyber Monday, great deal for what seemed like a great monitor. It states it is VESA mounting compatible in the description which I was very excited about so I bought some monitor arms to mount it. After I received it I took out the monitor and there were only TWO screw holes for mounting. This is NOT VESA mounting compatible. Now I am going to have to return this and buy another monitor that actually follows its description, which means I will miss out on the cyber Monday deals. This wasted my time and money.

I don’t trust it
I’m knocking off some stars because the description is either misleading or one important aspect of this product is shoddily designed. Despite the claim of “VESA mounting compliant (75 x 75mm),” it only has two holes that are near the bottom (doesn’t seem very stable), and in the Q&A on this page Acer claims this doesn’t have a VESA mount at all. Is it a VESA mount or not? Whatever it is, I would not trust it to keep this thing from falling to the ground and exploding.Other than that, the screen quality seems fine for the price range. I can verify that it reaches 100hz and Nvidia control panel says it’s G-sync compatible. I got this on a rare Cyber Week deal and only as a secondary monitor, so I don’t think I would ever buy this at full price or as my main display. Definitely avoid it if there’s a possibility you will need to mount it with anything other than the stand.

Not fully VESA compatible?
Just received my Acer SH242Y Ebmihux 23.8″ Full HD 1920 x 1080 w/USB-c monitors. Beautiful looking but I’m not sure these are really vesa compatible. As you can see in the picture, there are only two screw holes available for a vesa mount. I’m concerned about stability for such a heavy monitor. Acer customer services swears there are 4 holes but here’s the proof. I think this someone got the specs wrong on this. Will try to find an adapter to see if I can make this work.
