    I’ve grown to like it

First off, I really love the 144hz. It’s kinda hard to describe how much different a screen is when running at 144hz. Everything is much more “real” looking. When you drag a window it’s like dragging a sheet of paper.I also like the adjustability of these screens. They have up, down and forward and back tilt.Where things are not so good is if you’re reading text on the screen. It’s pretty fuzzy which I suppose is to be expected on a 1080p screen but it’s not just fuzzy blacks are kinda washed out against white screens. You can try to adjust this but if you fix the black on white problem that creates a problem with darker videos. In essence they’re cheap 144hz screens and it shows for detail work. However, having said that, games look glorious (assuming you can live with 1080p) so if that’s your primary use these will rock out for you.Edit: I’ve had these monitors quite some time now and I find that while it’s true the text isn’t super sharp it’s plenty good for most purposes and never really gets in the way of working. Bumped it up to 4 star.

    What an upgrade!

Edit: A few things if you’re having trouble!!*** If you aren’t getting 144 hz: right click on the desktop and select ‘Display Settings’. Scroll down to “Advanced display settings’. Now select ‘Display adapter properties for Display X’ where X is the display the Acer monitor is at. Now select the ‘Monitor’ tab, and change the Screen refresh rate to 144 Hertz. Select Apply and then OK and you should be good to go.*** If you’re getting ‘No Signal’: first try updating your drivers. If you have an Nvidia card, open GeForce Experience to update your drivers. If that still doesn’t work, buy a new DisplayPort cord and see if it’s that. Other than that, you might have to give Amazon or Acer a call.==============================================Original Review:Mind you, I was coming from an 8-year-old 60hz monitor, but boy are they right when they tell you it is smooth like butter! I came from a 1920×1080 60hz 22″ and upgraded to this 1920×1080 144hz 24”. the two inches is so noticeable. I love the stand; it’s so easy to move around, and the up-down motion is ridiculously smooth. Like, it’s super easy to move up and down, yet it doesn’t listen to gravity and slowly fall down? All in all, I’m super happy with my purchase! What an improvement! 😀

NOT The Same Panel as the Popular XF243Y

We bought this monitor to complement the Acer XF243Y. We thought this cheaper model with the XFA variant was just an Amazon exclusive. Be warned–this is NOT the case. The XFA uses a much cheaper TN panel while the XF uses a VA panel. If you don’t know what this means, look it up. It’s important. You get what you pay for. There is no mention of this on the product page nor the manual.

    Awesome monitor for gaming

Awesome monitor for gaming. Looks great, very easy on the eyes. The colors are widely adjustable directly from the monitor to suit any taste.Honestly I can’t tell the difference between 75hz and 144hz when I’m not gaming, but as soon as I jump into a game the differences become surprising. Stealth characters are easily distinguished among the background due to the high frame rates and the extra second of response time that can allow has provided me with kills in situations I would have had trouble with my old monitor.Further this monitor is easily adjustable in many ways. It easily slides up and down and stays very stable even without a lock (though personally a lock would be nice for when I pick it up to move it). The whole base turns easily and the monitor has a large tilt range up and down. It also switches to portrait mode very easily. All this adjustability makes sure that the TN monitor is always exactly in front of your eyes to provide the highest quality it can (since like many TN monitors it doesn’t have a great viewing angle). The only annoyance with this is since the adjustments don’t have locks whenever you move your monitor you need to readjust it, but how often do you move your monitor?

Its a Great Monitor with Longevity Issues

This monitor is my central of three and I love it! It’s elevated my gaming experience ten fold and if someone is looking to get a budget monitor that can stream seamless video quality in over 144hz, this is probably the best pick on this website. THAT BEING SAID there is certainly an issue with longevity that I have seen in other reviews as well. For one, if you plan on using a Display Port cable for this monitor, BOY HOWDY to you because this monitor LOVES to die for no reason. I think its faulty manufacturing but the display ports just DIE on this monitor, I have only had mine for 6 months. Luckily, all you need to do is swap to an HDMI and you can get crystal clear picture again, but you’re compromising on frames at that point which should not have to happen in the first place! All in all, I recommend this product for sure! Just keep an extra HDMI handy for when the inevitable happens.

Good quality monitor but hard to recommend.

It’s hard to recommend this monitor. I received my first one with a dead pixel on arrival which I noticed not even 10 minutes into use. But I wasn’t willing to let one bad monitor ruin the experience for me. So I requested a replacement, and when I received a new one it had a white spot at the top of the monitor. However that wasn’t enough for me to call it quits. I continued to use the monitor for another week until I was running some benchmarks which required me to turn off G-Sync. Which didn’t cause any problems until I turn G-Sync back on which caused a dead pixel to appear. I don’t think it’s a problem with G-Sync, it’s a problem with how the monitor wants to be able to run G-Sync and AMD Freesync. The store page claims to be G-Sync compatible but when you receive the item, the packaging only says that it is Freesync compatible. I am convinced now that I have gone through two of these monitors, that these monitors are not truly compatible with G-Sync which is causing these monitors to to damage themselves.Despite all of those problems, the overall quality of the monitor is great. When you receive the monitor is has a blue light filter enabled by default but with a little bit of tweaking with the settings you can get rid of that easily. The refresh rate is smooth at 144 hz with very little tracing or motion blur. Sadly it is not oveclockable to 165 hz, and any attempt to do so will cause the screen to go black until the refresh rate gets changed back to 144 hz. Despite the problems that G-Sync may cause, if you can turn it on without damaging you monitor it is well worth it. G-Sync offers a much smoother experience with virtually no screen tearing to be seen and you can expect the same with AMD Freesync if you are on team Red.Final conclusions, the monitor is great for the price and offers a lot more features than I was expecting. However the dead pixels make it hard for me to recommend seeing as I have now had to return two of these monitors.

    Easy To Assemble, Great Value

For $209.99, this is one of the cheapest 144 Hz gaming monitors you will find on Amazon. I like Acer as a brand and they have come up big with another quality product. This monitor is extremely easy to assemble, with the base using just one screw and the stand using a snap-in functionality to the screen. I like the design and the bezel is a decent size. The buttons look nice and give you easy access to some useful functions like adjusting brightness, volume, mode, etc. Be wary that the colors it comes with out of the box are sub-optimal. If you are looking to game or do any graphic intensive activities, consider looking up some color profiles online or creating your own. Not to be alarmed, this is the same with all other cheaper 144 Hz monitors (out of the box, that is). The DP cable that comes with the monitor is somewhat short (3ft, I believe) so if you need your monitor somewhat far from a plug, consider purchasing a longer DP cable (PrimeNow has a 10ft cable for $11.99). Also, this monitor has no cable management (not a big deal), so if you’re worried about cords hanging loose, maybe invest in some cable clips.Overall a great product for the value, quality, and functionality.

Considering Returning due to Color & Brightness issues

I bought this for the response time and the 144hz refresh rate, but the color issues are making me consider returning it. I like that it comes with a height/tilt adjustable stand–that’s part of why I got this one over other options . The color and brightness issues I describe below are the main reason I give it 3 stars. I didn’t think it would be as bad as it is. It has worked fine otherwise, so if you still think it won’t bother you, it might be worth considering as a 144hz option, but I would recommend comparing it against other options first.*Color issues:I have noticed the frequently cited color issues. Out of the box, the colors are very “off” and very washed out. After calibrating the color and brightness, it looked a little bit better, but the colors were still off and inconsistent, and screen felt dim because of how low I had to adjust the brightness. The top left corner of the screen on my unit is also slightly more saturated than the rest of the screen which isn’t noticeable unless the screen is a solid color like in some menus and on the Windows 10 ctrl+alt+delete screen. I know TN panels often have flat colors, but my laptop has a TN panel that does well enough. The color issues on this panel are extreme.Cables in the box:Mine came with a Displayport cable and a 3.5mm aux jack. You MUST use a Displayport or Dual-Link DVI cable to take advantage of the 144hz refresh rate. Otherwise, it will be capped at a lower refresh rate, so it’s nice that that was included. I will complain about the color, but props to Acer for including the right cable in the box.

    Does not disappoint

When I first heard about this monitor, it was almost too good to be true, an under $200 g-sync compatible, 144hz monitor?! I mean come on who are you kidding? My curiosity got the best of me and I had to check it out. At first glance it seemed pretty good, but after reading other reviews I was skeptical because I feared I was going to regret buying it. People had said that they had monitors with dead pixels and washed out colors, or simply a black/white screen. However, the huge amount of positive reviews just made me want it even more. After receiving this monitor and testing it out, it did not disappoint at all. Initially I had it hooked up to my laptop through HDMI (supports 48-120hz), but I realized that I wasn’t using the monitor to it’s full potential and so I went ahead and purchased a USB type-c to DP cable and “viola!” I hit that beautiful 144hz and I can tell you this, once you reach 144hz, you’re definitely not going to want to drop back down to 60hz. I paired it with my older Acer KG221Q monitor to get a nice dual monitor setup and it looks wonderful. Anyways I have nothing but praises for this monitor.Pros:- 144hz (so smooth!)- 24″ this is the ideal size for gaming and even work related tasks- three unique ports for display (HDMIx1, DPx1, DVIx1)- brightness (it’s literally the brightest screen ever, I think like 316 nits or something)- color accuracy is wonderful (around 96% out of the box, you can see this in the picture I took compared to my older monitor- The ergonomic features is really the cherry on top with the swivel, tilt, and height flexibilityCons:- This may be an issue to some but for me it’s not that big: pixel density/ppi (pixels-per-inch), the pixel density is as big as I would like it to be, coming in at about 92ppi at 1080p vs the typical 100ppi+ sweetspots at 1080p. It is a 24″ so it makes sense that the pixels will be stretched slightly, vs say a 24″ 1440p 60hz monitor. Again, this isn’t a big problem for me as I’m not sitting like two inches away from my screen and it’s not that noticeable when doing normal tasks whether it be gaming, work, etc. [REMEMBER 24″ 1080p 144hz > 24″ 1440p 60hz]Side note: make sure you go to settings in order to change the refresh rate to 144hz, otherwise it’ll most likely be set by default to 60hz out of the box. Also YOU NEED USE THE DISPLAY PORT TO GET FULL 144hz, HDMI will only get you up to 120hz, and that’s if you have an HDMI cable that supports that bandwidth.

Best bang for your buck, i guess

i’m happy with the purchase and i believe there’s no better option on the same price range. or at least there wasn’t a couple months ago when i bought it. Let it be known that i paid 119.99 USD + 8.40 USD in tax.CONS1 – 23.8 inch version doesn’t actually support HDR. You can force it to work, but it looks terrible. No information about the other versions. I don’t care much for HDR, but if it’s advertised on the product, it should work.2 – just “good enough” build quality. It’s not flimsy but some parts could have used a better treatment, specially the stand and screen borders, both are somewhat loose and feel like cheap plastic to the touch. None of that affects image quality, though.3 – DEAD PIXELS! i don’t know if it came already with them from the factory or if they developed as i used the screen, but i can see quite a few dead pixels already. they are all spread across random areas so, unless you’re looking directly at them, on a white background, you’ll not notice them. Still, for a brand new product i expected no dead pixels at all.that’s pretty much all there is for the bad.PROS1 – Let’s be honest, this thing is CHEAP. you may get a 1080p monitor for that price, but not one that supports 165hz. or maybe it does, but no freesync premium, or any of the other fancy stuff this one has. This is one of the budget-friendly gaming monitor of all time.2 – easy to assemble, which doesn’t really matter much for something that you’ll likely assemble only once in your entire life, but it’s good that it’s hassle free.3 – Lots of nice-to-haves, like freesync premium, vrb and overdrive mode.4 – did i mention that it’s the best bang for your buck? All in all, if you’re on a budget and want a gaming monitor, this will do the trick. Do not expect superb image quality though, like you’d get from a far more expensive model. It’s an honest screen (apart from the HDR advertised).

HDR 10 is useless when stuck on 1080p…BUT 280hz is not!

Folks, uh, I mistakenly thought I could upscale on this monitor. Turns out, you cannot but it has HDR 10 which is the ‘better’ HDR. ISSUE: HDR only looks good on 2kp+ but regardless, this monitor gets five stars for the next five reasons.1. It DOES NOT have a power brick. I own many monitors and have wanted this feature for years. I also mistakenly thought it arrived without one, in fact.2. 280hz. It works but you gotta use the overclock mode and then turn it up in your PC display settings.3. Easily VESA mountable. The mount is decent/has 360 but the stock base is typical bad acer design.4. The power button. It’s not the ‘joy stick button.’ It’s the top button which, much like the lack of a power brick, made me think something was wrong. It was me.5. AMD FREESYNC PREMIUM/0.5ms response time. They exist.

This Monitor Barely Had Any Reviews But It Was Well Worth The Price It Was ($119) Which Is The Price Of Most Off Brand Ones. Its Been Perfect For Gaming And The Refresh Rate Is Great. Playing Competitive FPS Games Shows No Signs Of Tearing Or Latency Lag Its Smooth And Crisp. I Chose This Over The Sceptre Monitor Everyone Recommends For A Budget Gaming Monitor, The One Drawback Is That It Doesn’t Have Speakers But I Use A Laptop So If Im Not Using My Headphones It Has Speakers.Sidenote: The Screen Height And Angle Is Adjustable And Has Some Cable Management

Good for movies, bad for gaming

I didn’t read the product description correctly and didn’t realize it was a VA panel until too late. Videos look good and all, but the black smearing that these panels are known for destroy the gaming experience. A dark scene in a game will look like s blurry mess and anything bright within those dark scenes will annoyingly flicker when moving. Buy this if you want a good movie watching experience. Do not buy if you want to play games.

Disply Port went bad after 3 months, New Update 14 May 2019

Well crap, was enjoying my Acer XFA240 monitor, loved my monitor up until the time it broke just 3 months later. I think I saw the same problem in a few other reviews but thought hey there’s always a few bad apples in the bunch when it comes to purchasing a computer monitor no matter which company you buy it from, so I went ahead with my purchase. Unfortunately, I now have the same issue as some of the other reviews. My DISPLAY PORT has gone bad, my monitor runs through its load up by searching for which port it is hooked up to my computer then it says “No input found” and then puts itself in amber standby mode. I reconnected to the monitor using my Dual link DVI cable that I have connected to my second monitor and the monitor works great again, that would be all fine and dandy except you can’t use Free-Sync when connected to DVI, Free-Sync only works through the Display Port and that’s the only reason I bought this monitor was to utilize it’s Free-sync capabilities, so now I have a useless monitor for the purpose I wanted it to be used for. I have gone through ACER support and they seem to think that the Display port cable has gone bad, so I said ok send me a new one then since the display port cable was provided with the monitor. So, they’re sending me a new display port cable to hook up and if the new cable doesn’t fix the problem which I find hard to believe that the cable went bad in that short a time, after I hook it up and it still doesn’t work, I had them put that scenario in my support case with them so I don’t have to go through this process again and have them just send me a new monitor. If it turns out to be just a bad DP cable, I will amend my review to reflect, as I really do love this monitor. Hopefully, they are unfortunate enough to have been including crappy DP cables with their monitors and it fixes the problem, will see.Update 14 May 2019: Ok, I didn’t want to wait a couple of weeks to receive my replacement DP cable from Acer to see if the cable was the problem with my monitor so I went ahead and purchased a well reviewed DP cable here at Amazon, after plugging in to the same DP jack on my video card and monitor with the new cable I still had the same issue with my monitor not working, still showed “No input found”, however, I decided to plug the cable into one of my alternate DP jacks on my video card and low and behold my monitor works again. So, not sure where my problem lies, did the cable Acer supplied with my monitor eventually burn out my other DP slot, or did I have an issue with my less than a year old MSI GTX 1060 video card DP going bad, not sure, but anyway my monitor is back working again.

Great monitor for the price, having DP issues though

UPDATE (Most Recent): I’ve had the monitor for about a month now since the last update. The issue was fixed by completely unplugging my tower and monitor and just leaving them over night. I’ve learned to avoid the issue by preventing the computer from going to sleep since I’ve read that DP has some issues with waking up from sleep mode which is what I think caused my original issue. Occasionally I’ll get the “No Signal” issue again and it’s usually fixed by just powering down my tower completely and then restarting it.UPDATE (old): Writing this a few days after my original review, my monitor is having issues getting signal over DP. Windows recognizes the monitor but the monitor shows “No Signal” when I try to turn it on. the HDMI and DVI inputs work perfectly fine but they don’t do 144hz, which is what I bought this monitor for. Considering returning or selling this monitor. This is an affordable option for those looking for a 1080p 144 Hz monitor. I use it for both content creation work and just general gaming and it’s been awesome. Visuals seem crisp, colors are pretty good, and overall I’m really happy with it.Out of the box the monitor is EXTREMELY bright. Like you could light a room with just this monitor. I have my brightness set to 0 in the settings and that feels significantly better to look at for long periods of time.As one could expect the built in speakers aren’t anything great, but I’m incredibly pleased that Acer included an audio out port (3.5mm) on the monitor so you can take the audio from the HDMI or DP inputs and send them to your own speakers. The monitor has a button to activate “Game Mode” which seems to put some sort of sharpen filter on the screen and I have a feeling it plays a little bit with the colors as well. It also puts an FPS counter in the top right corner but that counter was a constant 144, even when I limited my framerate in games to 60 fps just to test it out so the counter isn’t too useful and ultimately I think the Game Mode in general is a pain because of that sharpen filter especially. If you switch to Game Mode and then back to regular mode keep in mind that your monitor settings get reverted back to default, this includes color and brightness. Avoid the Game Mode button and this is a non-issue.

I Have Had This Monitor for 3 Years.

I bought this monitor back in 2019 december so its just been about 3 years. I am still using it as I speak and its been an awesome monitor. No dead pixels or anything, the only thing that has bugged me with this monitor is a group of atleast 2 or 3 stuck pixels that will be on my screen but to fix it all I do is barely push on my monitor where the pixel is and it goes away for a while, itll come back in weeks to months later but its not a huge deal to me, still a great monitor for the price.

    Purchased October 2017—3 Year Review

I purchased this monitor in October 2017 and in 2 months, it will be 3 years old. All I can say is, wow. This bad boy still works as if I just got it yesterday. Response time, frame rate, picture quality, EVERYTHING is still spot on perfect like day one.I bought it to use with my XO X and it hasn’t let me down yet, I don’t expect it too tbh. Games like PUBG, CoD, BF, RB6, heck even NBA2k (as hard as that is for me to admit) and pretty much any game you can think of with more emphasis on fast gameplay and great graphics, runs smooth as butter.100% worth every penny you’ll spend. I haven’t done much research on this now, but at the time I bought this, I was looking for a monitor that had the capability to swivel, tilt, and move up and down without spending a ridiculous amount of money. Not a single monitor I was considering buying had this. Look no further. This monitor is the all-in-one package you’d expect for the amount of money you’re hoping to spend to have everything you want. I am however planning to use this once I get a PC in the near future, but with the new XB series X coming out, that’s gonna be a tough one.I hope this review helps anyone who is looking at purchasing this beast! Enjoy!

Very disappointing considering it’s a nitro you would expect it to have speakers at the very least. So if you don’t care about having speakers go on ahead and get it it’s great for everything else.

Does everything listed on the box. I have no complaints about the monitor at this time.

First off if you order this from amazon, get the gift wrapping option. They come shipped in their factory box which clearly advertises what is inside the box. My first one disappeared or was never arrived to my house. Amazon was awesome and replaced it and I was on standby the whole day it was to arrive lol. That aside, I’m really pleased with the monitor itself. It’s the first “gaming” monitor I’ve ever owned so with nothing to compare it against, it does what it advertises. The packaging in the box is very protective. Assembly is quick, intuitive, and no tools are needed. The base is stable, which is welcome since this monitor can be rotated, swiveled, raised and lowered in height, ect. I didn’t have any dead pixels in my screen thankfully. Picture is great. I haven’t played any fast paced games so can’t comment on that aspect, the games I do play are better presented since this is much bigger than any monitor I’ve owned previous. On that note, if you are buying your first monitor, because you are sitting closer, monitors appear larger than you might think having bought tv’s. What I mean is a 24 inch tv for watching the news is tiny, but this monitor for gaming is about the limits of how big I want a monitor. I had to look at the box and make sure it was the correct one/size. (Glad I didn’t buy a 37”)Anyway, it does 144hz 1080p and IMO does it well for a really great price. Haven’t had it long, so hopefully the reliability is on par with everything else so far. At this time I highly recommend.

    Gaming is never the same…

It comes with Display port to Display Port Cable, Power Cable, and headphone to headphone cable. The speakers on the monitor are small tweeters, So, might want to stick with your awesome heaphones.Very refreshingly satisfying frame rate. Compared to regular 60Hz, Everything looks smoother. Mouse cursor moves more smoothly, the videos play more smoothly, and games play better. Switching from a Samsung 4K monitor that runs at 60Hz, Faster frames are just so much more satisfying that going back to Full HD is no big deal. I do not miss 4K, at all.I fell in love with this monitor since It went from using 30% of my graphics card to 70% of my graphics capacity playing the same game at 144 fps. Now, it feels like the games were meant to be played this way.Note: if you play a game in 144Hz, you will never want to game in 60Hz, again…Just for FYI, I was thinking about building a new rig just to max potential this monitor, but after using my current rig from 8 years ago with modern budget card, I changed my mind. I am using Nvidia GTX 1050 2GB with this, and it works with low settings with some medium post processing. Am I getting full 144 fps? seeing that it does not go 100% usage, but fluxuates around 70%, probably.I have an Xbox One S on 1080p TV, and comparing the gameplay of PC and Xbox S, monitor makes the PC gaming experience so much better. I have only praises for 144Hz gaming. It definitely improves the gaming experience. I am guessing, due to less eye strain.

    Color duller than expected

Monitor has a good refresh rate but has issues with G-sync, specifically stuttering; hasn’t had issue on other displays, unsure if it’s due to issues w/ drivers, settings on monitor/PC, etc. Color leaves a lot to be desired.

5 Year Update 2019-2023 | Retired by this monitor!

(UPDATE JULY 2023 )Still going strong! The monitor outlived my gaming. I purchased this during college and am now too busy with life to game. I game occasionally.. maybe 3-5, days in a year, but I ended up giving the monitor to my little brother whom I built a PC for 2 years ago. Hes been using it since with no issues.I’d like to thank this monitor for keeping up with my snot, spit and tears throughout my college gaming no-life phase. It is time to continue it’s journey through my little brothers. I will pass it down the generations until my future great grandson throws it out like we did with our old CRT monitors. “It still works but it’s ancient!!!!”I promise to update you guys if it ever breaks.-Retired gamer——old original 2018 review below 👇 ——-Title: PERFECT 144HZ FOR THE PRICEFANTASTIC!144hz is at such a competitive price now, got this baby for $179 on sale AND ITS BUTTERY SMOOTH. Never going back to 60hz again, the difference is night and day to me. Probably the best bang for your buck 144hz monitor out there! Great build quality and SUPER BRIGHT.I have a dark room and I always keep the brightness at 10 vs the blinding default 50 value. Sometimes I lower it to 5 late at night. I recon Id raise it if I move to a room with a window and daylight! Get this monitor 🙂

    Very good, for the price

Good blacksNo visible edge bleedingVery flexible standI have it side by side with my main 4k 144hz monitor and I gotta say it aint that bad at all considering it is1/5 of the price. I downloaded icc profile from rtings for this monitor, it allows to apply calibrated profile to this monitor for better colors. This is a very decent monitor for gaming and browsing. I found no problems with it although I wish it came with DP cable instead of hdmi.

One of the best values available now.

As a disclaimer for this review, I am exploring this from the perspective of a lifetime user of a below average, OEM, 60hz or below monitor. I am by no means the expert authority on displays.- The build quality is noticeably solid and has some weight to it.- The base and arm allow full ergonomic movement in every direction to include up, down, left, right, and full rotations. This is an impressive feature for such an inexpensive monitor.- With all of the negative reviews across the internet damning TN panels for having bad color reproduction, I find it hard to believe we are talking about the same monitor: Not only does this panel have a crisp image and good color reproduction, it is also extremely bright. In addition, I didn’t notice any bleeding or dead pixels.- High refresh rate use and gaming is now noticeably better than ever. I can’t, and will hopefully never, go back to 60hz.- G-sync compatible for Nvidia users out there. If your’re on the fence about this one, Do yourself a favor and ignore all other offerings at this price point from AOC, Spectre, and those other brands. I’ve already done all of the headache and research for you in this regard. The only other monitor I’d suggest looking at other than this is the BENQ zowie xl2411p.

    Not as good as advertised

Pros: Fast/good refresh, nice build quality, decent price, ergonomics/stand are great for adjustability, comes w/DP cable.Cons: Poor picture quality!! There is no way to get the brightness/contrast right…you can have all the refresh you want, but if you can’t see in the shadows and/or sun what’s the point? The colors are trash (very washed out/inaccurate). Gamma is crap too. Viewing angles are poor, I know, I know it’s a TN panel…but this is bad I have this monitor parked right next to my 11yo Dell monitor (also a TN) & it looks so much worse. I was looking for an upgrade to the 11yo monitor I have…this is not it.Side notes: There are tons of ways to adjust the picture, I’ve tried them all, it just doesn’t have the capability. Also, it has a feature that displays current refresh rate in the upper right corner in big bold yellow letters, which you can turn off in the settings…but if you shut the monitor off (even sleep too) then turn back on the setting reverts every time, very annoying….I’m going to try swapping the DP cable, currently using the one that came w/it.UPDATE: better cable did not work. Found out the picture issues are related to the refresh rate. I understand this is common in low end monitors If you tune the refresh rate back to 60hz the colors/gamma/contrast improve. Still not great, but better. I hope this helps someone. I researched the crap out of this monitor & no one mentioned this issue.

Really looks good…. IF IT’S WORKING!

Sorry for the messy photo, but my cables were all organized until Acer support wanted me to try different cables to try and fix this white screen.Just bought this product 8/6/2019, and I’m writing this as of 8/11/2019. I was only able to use it for 5 days and when I got home, excitedly turned on the computer, started playing my game, and suddenly, just a blank….white…..screen. Called Amazon Tech Support, and looks like they knew right away the issue, dead LCD. They recommended to either contact Acer Warranty for a replacement, or just do a return.I attempted to file a warranty claim with Acer using their website. I was able to fill in all the details, hit the last checkbox, and when I hit NEXT, it doesn’t let me through. Maybe it’s because I’m using Safari, so I tried Firefox, still the same thing. But hey, maybe their website is not optimized for Mac, let’s try my Windows laptop. Still the same thing. Now I’m pissed. Let’s try calling their 24/7 Tech Support, which made me do the steps which I already told from the start that I already did prior to calling, but okay, I guess you wanna make sure. Here comes the fun part, I will be shipping the monitor to Texas, and any damage incurred during shipping will void the freakin warranty. GREAT! WHAT COULD GO WRONG DURING SHIPPING RIGHT? Oh, and don’t forget, it takes 7-10 business days for them to check it out, and that’s starting from when they receive the monitor.Good thing I still have the box because for sure, it’s way faster to return this piece of crap to Amazon and order a non-ACER one and it will take me less than a week to receive it.RANT OVER, NOW HERE COMES THE REVIEW FOR THE 5 DAYS I WAS ABLE TO ENJOY IT.Pros:- Jumping from 60Hz to 144Hz is something else. Once you go 144Hz, you can’t go back to 60Hz. Everything is buttery smooth on my games in Ultra. I never knew watching yourself hover your mouse on the screen would be satisfying.- Comes with a Display Port cable, so you don’t have to buy one.- The swivel, tilt, height adjustable mount is interesting. Very easy to work with. You’ll have to see for yourself to know what I mean.- Box is really solid. I feel like if I kick it with the monitor inside, it won’t break. I’m pretty sure our folks on the Amazon warehouse already threw this thing multiple times but it still survived without any major defects on the box.Cons:- Very unfriendly UI on the settings of the monitor. It’s a chore to actually adjust stuff, and the settings that you get are hard to navigate at.- It’s a TN screen, so if you’re coming from an IPS display, it’s not a pretty sight. Some of the stuff on the screen actually is blurred if it’s text, but with any graphic programs, really works well.- I didn’t notice any response delay difference between my 60Hz Dell IPS monitor vs this monitor. Both of them seem to have barely noticeable response times, but maybe it’s because I only play MMOs and not shooters.- Broke down on me on the 6th day. White screen of death.I’m glad that those who got working ones are enjoying their monitors. Sadly for me, that’s not the case.

and in my opinion looks better from a build quality stand point

I was borrowing my friend’s ASUS VG248QE for a few months as he didn’t need it, and when I gave it back, I couldn’t get used to 60hz refresh rate again for gaming. I needed a 144hz monitor. I looked at the different offerings from multiple companies, and this one stood our for it’s price. It is $50 cheaper than the ASUS monitor I mentioned previously, and in my opinion looks better from a build quality stand point. Plus, at this price, the inclusion of Freesync is awesome, even though I have an Nvidia card. Very pleased with my purchase so far, but if anything happens, I will update this review.Pros:PRICEGood build qualityFreesyncNo dead pixels (yet)Includes a display port, which in my opinion is the best option for connectivityStand is fully adjustable and can rotate to 90 degrees1ms response timeVery easy to put together and is easily able to be attached to a VESA mount.Viewing angles from the sides are actually very good, and will look fine in a 3 monitor setupCons:Color accuracy is not the best, but is to be expected from a TN panel, but it is perfectly fine for playing games. The seam around my display does not seem to be pushed together all the way, but it isn’t a big deal.I wish the speakers were louder, but at least they are there.I HIGHLY recommend this monitor

    Worth it.

Edit: after a little over 2 years of use, the display port plug stopped working. I tried different cables and combinations with my graphics card to confirm it is the display port on the monitor. The hdmi port still works, but limits it to 120 refresh rate. Kinda stinks, but still a good purchase. The picture is great, but the real gravy here is the response time. My last monitor was also 1ms, but was 60 fps. The difference between that one and this one is insane. Make sure you use a display port cable and set windows to be 144 fps. Loving how instant everything is. Moving pictures are very clear, its super easy to read moving text. Also the stand it comes with is amazing. I was planning on getting monitor arms, because I like my monitors a bit higher up then most stand accommodate. (If your sitting up straight and looking straight ahead, you eyes should be just below the top of the monitor). But the stand can have the monitor high enough that I don’t need one. Also it rotates and can even tilt the monitor to be in portrait mode, which is pretty cool.100% recommend. Great performance monitor for the price. I will be getting 2 more for my side monitors because I hate the delay that I now feel when using any other monitor.

Great monitor for G Sync Compatibility.

Bought this for Nvidia’s new G sync compatibility feature since this monitor is cheapest verified to work. It works perfectly for making use of the new technology. Just an FYI though, you NEED a DisplayPort to connect your monitor to the PC or you can’t use G sync compatibility. The monitor comes with the proper cord but if you only have HDMI or DVI you cannot run the G Sync stuff. My PC had a port but it is something I didn’t know until I was setting it up.Pros:-G Sync Compatible.-144hz with 120hz and 100hz settings.-Adjustable stand.-Nice picture.-Great price.-Fast shipping.Cons:-Viewing angle is a bit weird when monitor is above you. Brighter at the bottom and darker at the top. I found something of a sweet spot but there is no angle to avoid it being brighter at the bottom than the top.- Default profile is pretty bad and has a lot of gamma issues. I found an ICC profile that gave me proper black and colors and it looks great but took awhile to find one that got the blacks right. Especially at 144hz. Once you find the right profile it looks great though.-Takes awhile to warm up. You will notice that things look a bit desaturated and bright until it’s on for a bit.

    Coin Flip

I bought two of these after a previous set of monitors died, figured I’d get two of the same for looks and this one was the right specs for me. One monitor is fantastic, does everything I want it to. The other is less than ideal. Constant issues with it going black, either from power cycling or from switching to full screen in a game, or sometimes just idling too long. Fine monitor if you’re feeling lucky, fairly annoying if it’s a miss.

Very freaking smooth and great brightness, read dec. for issues and how to fix

Very freaking smooth, Gsync works amazing on my card (1660 super, and 1650 super) but the display port issue is super annoying. For the people who look through the reviews as guidance, I will say that one of the most annoying things about this monitor is that some times if u leave ur pc to go get something for a min, and the monitor goes into power saving mode (where it turns off the screen until u move ur mouse) some times it won’t turn back on, it says no signal but the pc detects the monitor plugged in, I found the best solution to be, turning off everything, unplug the monitor, turn the switch off, turn ur pc off, and turn the switch off, unplug the pc and hold the power button on the pc and monitor for 5 seconds to flush the power, not at the same time though, then plug ur pc back in and turn the switch on and do the same for the monitor, then turn on ur pc, should fix but not all the time, this issue kind of goes away after a long time of use, anyways the monitor is freaking awesome, and it’s very smooth, if ur picky about quality, then try a better resolution.

    Great monitor and price!

I absolutely love this monitor, sure it’s not the top of the line and only 1080p but gaming in 4K is expensive.Pros:- 1ms- 144hz- Price- Overall appearance- Sturdy stand- Easy adjustable screenSeriously I had semi low expectations when buying because it was cheaper than some but honestly it’s fantastic I love the stand it doesn’t move or rattle or anything it’s probably the best stand I’ve ever had for a monitor. It has small borders around the screen so it’s not massive and doesn’t take up a lot of space on your desk. Not sure why people say the colors looked washed or whatever to me they looked pretty good I took about 5 minutes messing with the setting and bumped it to 144hz cuz it’s in 60hz standard and it was 100 times better.Cons:- LED power light- SettingsSo when I first got it I couldn’t figure out what was bothering my eye thought maybe I needed to adjust to the 144hz. Figured out that when the screen is adjusted to the top of the stand the power light was like beaming me in the eye, super annoying. Easy fix cover it with a super small piece of duct tape so you can still see it but not right in the eye lol. The settings menu is a bit of a pain in the ass to manage around to changing stuff but honestly I set it once and never touch it again 9/10 so who cares. You have to go into the windows advanced settings to bump it to 144hz and you need a DP cable HDMI I believe can be set to 120hz.In conclusion guys honestly you won’t be dissappointed in this monitor I love it. Does everything I wanted in a monitor and I don’t get eye strain from long sessions of use which is awesome! Also the price makes it even more attractive. For people who gave it 1 star for a white screen, come on shit happens you got a bad unit, they replaced it under warranty, it happens. For real though if you’re like me who has to check 50 different same items trying to decide, just buy this one it’s great!EDIT: 3 years later and still going strong. Best 1080p monitor I’ve ever bought. Not a single dead pixel, no flashing, still bright af, and it’s actually brighter than my Dell DG2716 and the white is more true lol.

A G-Sync compatible gaming monitor that won’t break the bank

PSA: I initally thought Amazon shipped the wrong monitor because the box has the FreeSync logo but nothing about G-Sync. This is a G-Sync compatible monitor meaning NVidia has certified that it will work with G-Sync.When I bought my gaming PC in 2014, I was not aware that not all monitors are created equal. Specifically, monitors that run at 60 Hz will limit gaming performance to 60 frames per second (FPS). When I upgraded to a GTX 1070, I wanted to get a G-Sync monitor that would show me what kind of performance I could get if it was not artificially limited by the monitor. I was very pleased when I found this monitor. It runs at 144 Hz. I bought it in June 2019, and I am writing this review, January 2020. Some people may be put off by the fact it is a TN panel instead of IPS. I am very happy with the quality of the picture. Even when I am not gaming, I notice the movement of the mouse cursor is smoother. I bought 2 monitors because I wanted a dual monitor setup. I was used to using 2 monitors at work, so I don’t know why it took me so long to get 2 monitors at home. It’s so nice to have a game running on 1 monitor while having something else, like a browser or Power DVD. on the other. If you use your computer to browse websites, watch videos, use productivity apps, or basically anything other than gaming, I do not recommend this monitor. In my opinion, this monitor is overkill for anything other than gaming. Buy a cheaper monitor if you don’t play games.

Too much work & tinkering out of the box

For starters, the monitor itself along with the bezel is much thicker than I thought. The monitor has built in speakers but they are essentially useless as the quality is so poor and they give off an annoying hiss. Im not sure if it’s the monitor’s fault but I should note that the gsync seems incredibly inconsistent giving performance boosts in some games and performance hits in others. Lastly, my biggest issue was the half hour of tinkering I had to do with the display settings in order to make the display not look blurry, dried and gray.To the monitor’s credit once I got the colors and sharpness where I wanted them, gaming was actually very enjoyable and the bezel disappeared into the background better than I thought. The pivots and swivels are very smooth and satisfying to adjust and can help maintain proper posture for those who struggle with posture while sitting. There is also hardly any if any back pannel light bleed. Which was an issue on my previous viotek monitor, so this monitor definitely wont be emitting any seemingly unnecessary light bleed. Some settings that made the image and display quality improve: swapping out of the preset color temp immediately brings more color and less gray. Super sharpening severely decreases the blurriness and brings a much more crisp image. The user color profile is aslo very balanced and neutral. And lastly slightly decreasing the black levels make darks and blues much more crisp and natural, taking a lot of gray out.

If you need a fast responsive gaming monitor, then this is perfect!

Response time:Personal I think that VA and TN panels are smoother than ips panels. This panel is responsive and don’t have ghosting… it’s great for the price.Pretty picture:Does not have pretty picture, BUT you can mess with settings and turn on HDR and mess with contrast! TN and VA panels will not get you ips colors…Overall amazing performing monitor for fps gaming…Switched from 27” hp omen X 27 (1440p 240hz) because I prefer 24” monitors..I wish there were 24” 1440p 240hz monitors.. Stellar Monitor for the Price

I initially found this monitor when building my gaming PC. I saw $200 and thought I was compromising. Now, after almost 6 months of heavy use, I know this is no compromise. It does need some color tuning out of the box, but when you do, it looks amazing. The only downside I can find with the image quality is that dark colors aren’t differentiated well. It can be hard to see detail in darker games, such as Control or in darker scenes in Modern Warfare. The build quality and stand are phenomenal. The stand telescopes up and down about 6 inches, and also tilts up and down quite a bit. The monitor barely rocks when disturbed. I work from home, using this monitor for 6+ hours a day for work alone, plus an extra hour – 2 hours of gaming a day. This monitor never gives me any issues – no dead pixels, no heat issues, nothing.I’ve used this with a Mac, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. All work flawlessly.Obviously, you can get a better monitor. But for the price, this is such a great monitor, definitely worth the price tag.

Really good monitor but can be a bit annoying to think about. READ DESCRIPTION

This monitor is nothing I have seen before. 240hz is a different experience especially with HDR10. The problem with this monitor is that the color is a bit faded. To fix this issue adjust the color settings on the monitor and on whatever device you are using. For gamma i recommend 2.6 because it makes everything look better. I do recommend this but be careful of what versions of this you order. All Acer and Aopen monitors are like this so just “deal with it.”

Great display except the color is a bit off out of the box

i love this monitor and way better than my older monitor i used. This is almost a perfect display for me. the size is great, custom-ability in the settings is fantastic. the only issue i have is the picture quality, it is a bit washed out for my liking. i did go in the setting and fix it and make it better but it never got to perfect levels.setting that i changed:Picturebrightness: 50Contrast: 50Black level: 3-5 (what i found to be the sweet spots)Blue light: offSuper Sharpness: off (looks worse when on tbh)ColorGama: 2.2Golour Temp: Normal6-axis hue: everything 506-axis saturate: everything around 75-80after i set the changes to that, the color was a lot better and was more enjoyable. dont plug this in and expect it to be ready to go cause you do have to mess around with it a bit. i noticed some people liked the 6-axis saturate where everything around 55 except yellow, that is at 59. i think this monitor is worth it.edit: i have been using this monitor for about 3 months now(not exact cause they just made it gsync compatible while i bought it when it was freesync compatible). The only issue i have came across is with the power port. if i try to move the monitor the cord will become loose. all you have to do is push move the power cord around and/or push it back it. it really isn’t an issue since it doesn’t do it when it’s just sitting there and not being touched. if it wasn’t for that it would really be a perfect monitor. but to me it really isn’t a big deal since it only happens when im cleaning my desk, plugging in a new cable, or just repositioning the monitor but i rarely do any of those things anyway so it really isn’t a big deal. This monitor has been really good and all the issues besides that is just been windows 10 or user error. the one weird thing that i found is that when you power off the monitor it completely shuts down unlike every monitor i had. my PC thinks it’s not there and will move everything to my second monitor and i actually like that feature. it saves power when you aren’t using it and isn’t constantly having power brought to the monitor when it’s off. i just wished i waited a few months to get it when it got gsync so i can use those features. I have a 1070ti and i can’t use freesync but the monitor works perfectly fine still. besides that everything is great. still butter smooth, sharp image but you have to tune it up since it comes pretty bland and dull out of the box but i think that is so we can customize it how we want and show us how really good this monitor can be. i would definitely buy this monitor again even with that weird power issue. 10/10, best monitor i have owned

Very good gaming monitor, if you can get it on a good discount.

I’m making this review because this page seems to be “review hijacked” by Acer and another corporation for a number of different monitors and there doesn’t seem to be many reviews specifically about the Acer Nitro XFA243Y Sbiipr .Pros:-Stand is very ergonomic, albeit a bit wobbly at the base even though I tightened the screw-Low black-smear and motion blur that’s commonly associated with VA monitors-Good contrast (non-professionally calibrated)-Solid color reproduction (non-professionally calibrated)-Good portsCons:-Stand has terrible and almost pointless cable management. There’s always going to be at least a couple wires sticking out on either side of the monitor like antenna, and the clip at the back of the base serves basically no purpose for most desk setups.-Display settings in the menu don’t save after the monitor wakes up from sleep unless you specifically set it as a profile-VA “batman bloom effect” seems particularly bad, even for a VA display. Viewing conditions in the dark make any content seem more grayish than it’s supposed to.It should be noted for any potential buyer of this particular monitor that the coverage on the internet is basically non-existent for it so you’re basically SOL when it comes to other reviews, trouble-shooting, or calibration. I usually use sites like RTings for calibration help, but this time I had to painstakingly do it buy eye. Ironically, the IPS version of this monitor (XF243Y Pbmiiprx) is MUCH more popular in terms of reviews and such so If you don’t care much about VA I’d honestly recommend that one instead, if you can get a good deal on it of course.

    Fantastic for the price

Pros: Quality is great, my panel came shipped fine with no dead pixels or anything. 144hz, 1ms, 24inch monitor, with a good amount of adjustment in the stand. Gaming is smooth, super smooth, like “wow this is going to make playing on my Xbox impossible” smooth. This monitor is under 200$ not on sale, I think this will be the best deal for a monitor for a while.Cons: Out of the box the brightness is way high, colors are a bit washed out (like others have mentioned). This can be fixed by spending some time tweaking the settings though, I found setup values on Reddit that have helped but I still need to do some playing around.Okay here comes the one thing I hate about this monitor: switching input on this panel is such a chore. The moment the monitor looses signal from a source it starts cycling through DP, HDMI, DVI, but it doesn’t seem to stay on each input long enough to actually detect the display port input source. For example; I have my monitor as a main monitor and a second old panel to the side. The Acer is set up as primary, but I also have my xbox hooked up through HDMI. I’ll switch my computer to secondary display only, and turn my xbox on. The Acer cycles through inputs and find the xbox every time. When I turn my Xbox off and on my desktop go back to the extended desktop setting, the monitor will cycle inputs but skip right over the display port even though its hooked up to the PC. I’ve even had the issue where after I do this “cycle” the PC has a hard time recognizing the Acer display through the Display port, and I have to unplug the Acer from the PC and plug it back in to have it actually recognize and send signal to the monitor. This is annoying. BUT, I paid 200$ for a 144hz 1ms 24 inch monitor, its hard to complain.I paid a discounted price for this monitor, and even though I’ve been having this small issue I would buy this again for a 1080p build. In the future I’ll probably save up a bit more for a second panel that has better input switching, but again if I had the same funds as before and was putting together a complete system on a hard budget even knowing what I know now, I would buy this in a heartbeat.

Outstanding monitor but has some serious issues

Lets start by saying this is a FREESYNC monitor that is G-SYNC ADAPTIVE. It has the software to correctly interact with the NVIDIA control panel when everything is installed properly but it is not a dedicated G-SYNC monitor. Why does that matter? What could be so bad?Who cares?Well if you are streaming and have two monitors or regularly tab out of game during loading screens to a different monitor the G-SYNC adaptive monitor flickers off, goes black, resets and causes Microsoft to try to reconfigure your monitor settings because now you have 1 less monitor to use. Wait the monitor turns back on but G-Sync isn’t on anymore… (you don’t notice, you’re still wondering what just happened and you watched your black screens for 5 or 10 seconds as they figured themselves back out. So you tab back over to the game not getting to do what you tabbed out to do in the first place. When you tab back into the game G-Sync needs to come back on so the monitor flickers out again, your screens goes black, Microsoft loses its mind, you panic because you know the loading screens between games only last 20 to 30 seconds. The game screen comes back on but your frame rate is wrong because of a software issue. You have to go to settings and change the game from full screen mode to windows mode click apply, then back to full screen mode to fix the FPS issue. If your fast you get all of this done just in time to play. If you’re not fast, or you’re too confused by what just happened you get shot before picking up any weapon in the game and now you get to start this story over….So if you get this outstanding monitor for the cost and image quality, its the only monitor you will be using and you don’t tab out of game: 5 Stars (But don’t buy another or well… read above….)If you bought this outstanding monitor but you tab out alot and use more than one monitor you are going to spend a few weeks trying to find the right settings to edit to minimize this gigantic G-Sync Adaptive Flaw.Best of luck.

Great monitor but comes with an unexpected flaw…

TL;DR -> Great monitor but provided cable apparently died and was no longer delivering signal to the monitor. This resulted in a scare that the monitor had failed. Buying a new cable fixed the issue. This g-sync compatible monitor is excellent for it’s price and thus very valuable as most other g-sync monitors are at least another $100 more expensive. Out of the box, the picture looks a little brown (at least mine did), almost like the reading view setting on most smartphones. However, with a setting-tinkering, you can get it to look however you like.UNEXPECTED FLAW:This is something that i noticed some other reviewers talk about but though to myself: “Surely it won’t happen to me, right?”. Well it happened.. I received the monitor and hooked it up and started using it with no problems, but fast-forward not even A WEEK later and the monitor goes dark and refuses to show what output through the display port input setting. This was incredibly frustrating, not only for the short time it took to start acting up, but for the fact that without an input from display port, you cannot use the 144hz/g-sync capability… which is likely the reason one would buy this monitor. I tried turning off and on a few times, and even tried changing display ports on my video card but neither of these worked. At this point, i remembered reading a review where the reviewer had the same problem but fixed it by ordering and using a new display cable. Well, however silly that might sound, using a newly-ordered (and 144hz supporting display cable) did the job and i was suddenly able to use my monitor again at 144hz with g sync. The only conclusion i can come to is simply that the provided cable is incredibly cheap and can’t handle a high, consistent load during use. So, great monitor, horrible provided cable. If you decide to purchase the monitor, I’d recommend purchasing your own display cable.

    Great 144hz Monitor + G-sync

Worth the buy for the 144hz and G-Sync compatibility it has.Was a great combo with the GTX 1660TI I bought to play games with and NVIDIA announcing G-Sync compatibility to with many other monitors, this being one of them.Picture quality is okay, not the best, but just ok, monitor is very bright, had to lower the brightness so much just to stop it from hurting my eyes. One thing that really annoys me with this monitor, is that it often has problems detecting a video source, the monitor will cycle over and over through the video ports but won’t detect anything even if there are things connected. This usually happens when the monitor and or computer goes to sleep. If any of those happen, it will more than likely never pick up the video source again and I have to force shut down the computer to fix it. I have searched online over this issue and it seems to be the monitor and not my GPU.This issue also happens when booting up the computer after the computer has been off(shut down). I have to have the monitor off, turn the computer on, wait to let the computer be in Windows Welcome/Log in screen to finally be able to turn on the monitor safely without having that video source issue. I kinda figured out a trick to know when its ready to turn the monitor back on, and its when my Logitech mouse stops cycling through the RGB colors and is set to 1 color because of the settings i have on it. Once the RGB on the mouse stops cycling, is when I know its at the windows log in screen and its safe to turn on the monitor to avoid the video source cycling issue. This is really annoying to deal with, and am taking a star off because of this. Should be 3 stars because of how annoying it is, but its such a great monitor that I’m leaving it with 4 stars.Maybe someone on here has a fix for this issue if others know about it.

For the price, You can’t beat it.

For the price, This is a great gaming monitor. Ultimately I am very pleased with this monitor, despite a few shortcomings.(At the end of this review, I have shared settings that are widely shared across the web for better picture quality.)I’ll start off with the few things I DON’T like first. The Menu Buttons, I hate them. 6 rectangular buttons in a row on the bottom right of the monitor. I would prefer a joystick style. The Color, Horrible out of the box. Very bright, Very washed out. But very Fixable. The rest is all positive. My argument against the things I don’t like will simply be “For the Price, You can’t Beat it”. I paid $189.99 for this XFA240 monitor. For under $200 dollars, you won’t be able to find a better monitor. Especially one with 144hz and 1ms response time.Performance wise, this monitor is a beast. This is my first 144hz gaming monitor, and you can literally feel the difference. I play mainly FPS game’s and in my 100% honest opinion, I believe monitor has enhanced my game-play.Those small precise movements, Split second twitch shots, Quick peaks from cover, ect. All start to feel…’Right’.I would definitely recommend this monitor if you can get past the wonky Menu Buttons, And washed out picture out of the box. Again, with some tweaking to the settings this monitor will perform fine. Again, Remember this is a sub $200 GAMING monitor. It’s not going to compete with the big name monitors that easily cost $200-$400 more than this one. So it does have it’s short comings. But, For the Price…You can’t beat it!Recommended Settings. This is a good base line, you may prefer to add a few more tweaks.Picture:Bright: 5Contrast: 45Black Level: 3Blue light: OFFACM: OFFSuper Sharpness: OFFColor:Gamma 2.2Colour temp: User * R Gain:55 * G Gain:52 * B Gain:50All bias to 49SRGB mode: OFF6-axis hue: Default6-axis Saturate: Adjust all to 55 except yellow saturate to 59.

This is a sub $200 Gaming Monitor with 144hz and 1ms response time. And I love it.

For context, I now own two of these monitors, and these are my first. I bought the first one back in May 2019 for my PS4 and Switch (I game a lot), and the second in October after building a PC. I originally loved keeping the 1ms response time I was accustomed to on my TV for under $200 (at the time of writing it is $169.99), and was fine with the display and picture quality (though it took some time to get used to the smaller screen compared to my 60in TV). The monitor has settings to change colors and what not and also features a Game Mode that I suspect is the “Acer EyeProtect’s Flicker-less, Blue Light Filter, ComfyView and Low-dimming technology” mode. But the real change came in September when I built my first PC and connected it to this monitor. Playing with 144hz does make a real difference when playing, allowing you to see things come in focus much quicker than the 60hz I was used to, and the 1ms response time feels amazing for those accustomed to 3ms or more. It does get bright and may hurt when gaming for 8 hour prolonged sessions, but you can turn on Game Mode or dim the lights through settings. Plus, the fact that it’s adjustable is great, allowing it to adjust to a proper height or angle. My buddy, who still plays with a PS4, got one after I recommended it for his short desk setup, and adjusting it so it was facing him was a huge bonus for him. And for the price point it’s a welcome addition. Overall, solid monitor for under $200 and these have been great starter monitors for PC gaming for me.
