Good for what it is, but then just stopped charging
Stopped charging. This device was a good backup, and I liked using it for travel because it was lightweight and I wasn’t worried about losing or damaging it. I’ve had it for a year and a half but rarely use it, and now it just won’t charge. Before that, there were only a few small issues with it. Anytime I closed the device and reopened it, I had to shut it down or I wouldn’t have mouse capability. It was a strange issue, but I was fine dealing with it for the price. Another thing to be aware of is there is no light on the keyboard, so if you work in a dark environment, you need a light source to see the keyboard.

good but not great
I bought this to replace an old Galaxy tablet. I like the screen size, quality and the available keyboard when needed but the touch screen can be a bit sensitive at times and sluggish other times. I’ve also had apps freeze up on my that never did on my Galaxy. Just closing them and reopening works but shouldn’t’ happen as often as it does. It has gotten better over time probably because of updates but still happens once in a while.

I use mine for work, browsing and watching shows. It’s super easy. The battery lasts all day. I’ve had it for about 6mo and no complaints. It’s light and has everything I need on it. Really good purchase for the price point.

Its pretty good for it’s price range
This works pretty well if you are just going to be web browsing or watching some videos. It’s a bit slow in terms of installing/running apps. But I find it’s small size, lightweight and good battery life make it very convenient to use when you don’t really want to haul around a full size laptop. I might in the future consider spending a little bit more for a faster processor. But that’s about the only criticism I have for this.

It’s better than Acer’s support
I bought this to take with me on my trips rather than my heavier, more expensive laptop. Up until today, I was really happy with it. Today, I was testing the ability to connect with this device to the ASUS router at my house so I could upload pictures from my travels directly to my network. The app, AICloud, works fine on my phone and other chromebook devices but, for some reason, my Acer Chromebook won’t upload files. It will let me access my USB drive and download files but attempts to upload fail every time. I spent some time with Asus trying to identify the issue but since it works with other devices, they suggested it was an Acer issue, which seems pretty reasonable based on my 20+ years in the IT industry.Acer’s first tier tech couldn’t help beyond saying to call Asus, which is what I’d expect from Tier 1 support. Once I persuaded them to pass me up the ladder, the tier 2 tech listened very attentively before saying this wasn’t their problem and he was unable, or unwilling, to try to work with me on a solution. In effect, the Acer team makes devices that are not compatible with apps obtained from the Google Play Store so, as the saying goes, “Caveat Emptor”.For the record, I didn’t rate Gaming because I don’t play games on this device. Maybe I should since it can’t do really technical chores.

Quite good for this price point
This Chromebook is pretty good for the price point–it’s nice that it has the tablet-style hinge. I wanted to confirm for others looking at this, that unlike what some other reviewers have posted, I got the exact product as advertised: the model number is CP311-2H-C7QD, which is the 2021 model year release.

Versatile Form Factor | Windows Users are going to HATE it!
The hardware form factor for this convertible is excellent. Unfortunately, if you are familiar with the Windows OS, you’re going to HATE the Chrome operating system and quickly run into its application limitations. This could be a good choice for students whose school has standardized Chromebooks or someone on a budget that doesn’t allow for a Windows convertible like the amazing Lenovo Yoga. This gift was sold ‘As New’ shortly after purchase.

A Slow Chromebook
I can’t understand why people even give this Chromebook such an overblown rating. If it’s meant for the Internet or getting your work done while online, then it fails miserably. How are you to get your stuff done when you can’t even open 5 tabs without it getting super sluggish? If you just want to be online with just one or two tabs open, then, by all means, buy this Chromebook. If you want to get real work done, buy a laptop with higher processing power.

Stopped functioning after a year
I bought this chromebook in Spring 2022. Less than a year and a half later, just after its warranty period ended, it entirely broke, refusing to run. I’m an engineer, so I ran tests and determined that the motherboard had malfunctioned and there was no financially feasible way to save the chromebook. I’m beyond disappointed; chromebooks are meant to last years, and this one significantly under performed. I do not recommend this product.

Very happy with this
I got this as a backup when my laptop broke and am very happy with it. I wanted something more like a tablet so it wasn’t redundant when my laptop was fixed, so the folding feature and the touch screen are great! So far I haven’t had any issues with it except that it is very slow with game emulators online. It streams movies and such great though.

The machine is great – HOWEVER…
The ACER Chromebook is everything it claimed. I have no problem with the machine itself. HOWEVER, This statement is FALSE = Chromebooks come with built-in storage for offline access to your most important files and an additional 100GB of Google Drive space to ensure that all of your files are backed up automatically. There is NO 100GB of Google Drive space. When I called, they gave me a choice of 1. a refund, 2. a discount, 3. a replacement with the hope that the 100GB would magically appear. They offered a $30 discount. I suggested $50, the supervisor agreed.Disappointing. I really wanted the 100GB.

Very very slow
This is well made and the screen seemed very good. The problem I have is that this computer was excruciatingly slow. My phones are much faster! All I was using this for were for photos and for surfing and streaming. I highly recommend. Even if you’re going to do this, you need much more than 4 gigabytes of RAM

Amazing College Computer
I genuinely don’t think I have any complaints about this product. Prior to buying this computer, I was very against buying a touch screen computer because there seemed to be too many cons and not enough pros, such as a hyper sensitive screen and a battery that dies faster. This is not the case whatsoever with this laptop. I’m now a college student, but I’ve used the computer since Senior year of high school and it’s worked amazingly for getting homework done. I also love the 360 rotation, which allows me to turn the computer into an tablet as well as display any work very effectively. The only thing is, if you are looking to play games alongside doing your work, this may not be the laptop for you, as gaming runs incredibly slow. With that, it is a Chromebook, so all accessories and app stores are associated with Google, and you may not be able to access some apple or Samsung only apps from this computer, though this hasn’t seemed to be an issue for me. Beyond that, I swear by this computer. Also, the battery life is great. Often times I watch shows in school, and I’ve never had an issue with it dying on my prematurely. In fact, the battery life lasts a full days use, and I charge it over night. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a computer for schooling.

GREAT upgrade from tablet for my kids, first Chromebook
I did a lot of research as to what to get for my kids to replace their aging and damaged Samsung Tab A’s. We decided that it was time to go to a Chromebook so that they could get more repetition with a standard keyboard and GoogleOS. They are still able to download all the PlayStore apps that they had on their tablets, but now with better hardware and longer support. This model has 64GB of storage (with SD card option), so thats a huge upgrade. The RAM is 4GB, which is more than most cheap tablets these days, and you can tell. Its a LOT snappier than the Galaxys. The 2in1 flip with the screen is my kids favorite part! They can use it like a “real computer” and then flip it to make a huge tablet screen instead. Much bigger than the 8″ screen they had before. For an entry level chromebook, these are sturdy, snappy, and cheap! I dare you to find something better for preteens at this price point!NOTE: some of the reviews here complain about the speaker quality/power. This was one of the only things I was weary about when I finally committed to this unit. Those reviews are DEAD WRONG. The speakers are GREAT on these Chromebooks. The quality is clear, and they are louder than both of my other laptops and tablets. Playing videos through YouTube at 1/2 volume is much louder than the max of my other units. Don’t let the “terrible speaker” reviews sway you.

Good while it last
I got this Chromebook to replace my last Samsung 11″ Chromebook which I had for about 3.5 years. The Acer spin 11 was pretty good and I liked it alot. The keyboard worked much better than my Samsung. That thing has a mind of it’s own, I think. You type one word and the Chromebook types up something else..Expect for this one small problem and it started just after a month or so after I had purchased this.Once awhile it wouldn’t turn back on after I had idling for whatever time it took to be in power saving mode butIt wouldn’t turn back on, everytime when this happens I have to press the side power button for about ten seconds to turn it off first then, I’d give it a minute before hitting the same power button again. I hold it just long enough to see the blue light goes on next to power button you just pressed. Oh just out of curiosity, what does the power button do located right top corner? Cause it won’t shut the computer off or on. No matter how long you hold the button down. Anyway back to main issue, just awhile I left the Chromebook to visit UPS store and came back, tried to reboot my Chromebook as usual but this time it won’t turn on. I tried unplug & replug all the cables like power, HDMI. Man I only had this for about 4-5 months and this happens. My warranty expired as well…. I’m very disappointed.

Fit and finish is fantastic!
Ordered this Chromebook at 8:30 am and it was delivered at 8:00 pm the same day! The package was in a carton with bubble wrap. The unit’s own box had the device securely held in place with bombers on each end. Once unpacked, the feel, look, and finish made it appear like a solid, high-end product. On startup, everything went smoothly, and it hooked up to our home wifi with no issues. The screen is sharp and clear, and the keyboard has a comfortable response when typing. This was purchased for our grandson who will use it for his schoolwork as a freshman in high school. He used the school’s Chromebook in Middle school and is familiar with the Google OS. As soon as he logged into his Google account his apps downloaded. The response times are fast, and the screen colors are vibrant. Overall, we love our decision to purchase this Chromebook at a great price. The AUE is until June 2027 so this should be a solid performer throughout his high school years. We highly recommend this model; you won’t be sorry.

It’s Surprisingly Great and Value for Money Acer Chromebook !
The media could not be loaded.
I am highly impressed with the Build quality of the Acer Chromebook Spin 311, It does everything I was expecting it to do like Web Browsing, Email, Youtube, entertainment, longer battery life, quick turn on or turn off, etc. tasks extremely well, and at this price point, This is definitely a winner with an added bonus of a Touchscreen, It’s easy to carry with all necessary Ports you need and more. This feedback is from an IT professional with 20+ years of experience in computers. I have Apple MacBook Pro and HP Z Book for development work that requires heavy processing power. Highly Recommend it, If you have the right expectations! [Note that It’s not for Gaming]

Kinda cute & efficient
Honestly would recommend this little Chromebook that goes anywhere..! I’ve used it while in the kitchen for recipes or even watching Utube tv though you have to watch it off Chrome. The only thing I might have issue with is why the charger has a regular cell phone plug. I shutter what to think if it happens to bend a bit and have to get replaced. All in all I’m glad I made this purchase and would definitely recommend it. Thanks

Definitely worth it.
So far I have had no complaints. It was very easy to set up. The battery life is more than adequate. The biggest thing for me was only adjusting to the operating system. Until now, I have only used windows laptops for the last twenty plus years. Before that I had an Apple. It’s been easy so far, though I still have difficulties with right-clicking with the trac-pad. I have easily avoided this by using a wireless mouse.

Excellent lightweight, reasonably priced Chromebook, but not a good substitute for an iPad
Assessment after six months: This is an excellent low priced Chromebook overall, with fine screen quality and light weight. Set up was easy as is true of most Chromebooks. I purchased it to replace an older iPad, which I liked but was slow, and lacked connectivity and available keyboards. This Chromebook has two USB-C ports and two standard USB ports. The keyboard is first rate and the track pad is good enough that I don’t need a mouse. Accessing files on a USB key is easy enough on a Chromebook but impossible on an iPad. I have encountered only two significant drawbacks. The first is a touchscreen that is slightly inferior to the iPad. Those of us who are new to the Chromebook need to realize that it is a hybrid: in some respects it resembles an iPad and in others a PC, with advantages and disadvantages compared to either one. This particular Chromebook is not appreciably faster than my six year old iPad.Google Play for the Chromebook is inferior to the Apple App Store in terms of available apps but apps are generally easier to install than with a PC. In many cases you have the choice of accessing a website through an app or via Chrome. If you are used to using airline apps on your iPad or android smartphone you will find that they either aren’t available (American, Southwest) or are available only in the reduced size smartphone version (United, Delta). This should not prevent you from accessing the airline’s entertainment system through Chrome but I find that a bit less convenient. I find using Word documents on the Chromebooks inconvenient since you cannot download and run Microsoft Office, although the online version can be utilized. At best if you are a serious Word user you will find the Chromebook workarounds lacking in convenience. Editing .docx documents is easy enough with google and experienced users probably have methods that I haven’t yet figured out. I considered purchasing a basic iPad 2021 (9th version) with a keypad, but the cost is twice that of this Chromebook, which has a larger (11 inch) screen is larger than the iPad and not much heavier than an iPad with a keyboard case.I purchased the Chromebook as a substitute for an iPad (lower price, larger screen) but after six months the disadvantages for me outweigh the advantages. Using Word (or PowerPoint) on the iPad is pretty much seamless as long as you keep your files on the cloud; on the Chromebook it awkward unless you want to use Google drive more or less exclusively. Another disadvantage, although manageable, is browsing the news or other daily feeds. As with your office computer you can access the source’s web address but the handy apps that are available for the iPad or a smartphone frequently are not available at all or do not work properly on the Chromebook. MS Outlook does work well and the larger screen in a benefit for reading some messages. The ability to link your phone message system with the Chromebook is a significant plus; it is possible to do this on the iPad but it is awkward because of the lack of an app for some messaging platforms. The Chrome operating system is a generally well designed one once you get to know it but it pales in comparison with IOS. If I had it to do over I would purchase a low end PC even at about twice the cost.

Four months after purchasing, the device would shut off periodically even when charged. Filed a warranty claim. Acer, the manufacturer, never responded. Don’t buy!
I have always bought acer in the past and never had a problem. This model unfortunately is the worst! I’ve only had it for 2 months and it continues to have glitches! After only owning the product for a month the screen blacked out! I had a presentation at work that day and it wouldn’t do anything! The power button wasn’t working and it stayed black for a few hours! Finally…the power button worked and I had a normal screen again! So frustrating! Ruined my presentation! From time to time the screen and the keys just freeze up! I have to turn off the power and turn it back on a few times. I contacted Acer and they want me to send my computer to them but doesn’t offer a replacement while I’m they are working on it. I need my computer on a daily basis for my work! I would never buy this model again!! Its cheap for a reason!!

It’s not great
Computer is pretty good but it lags sooo much. It takes so much time to load that I just reset it everything something doesn’t work. Using apps is the worst cause it’s just the circle over it showing that it’s loading but it ne er comes on, I have to shut it down and reboot it. Then when it comes on I can’t click restore what I was on because it would bring up all the apps I tried with the loading circle again. If I only had one I would say it’s just a faulty one, but I ordered 2 and they are both the same.

Average Chromebook
Based on the spec, I don’t have a high expectation of the performance given Intel Celeron N4000 CPU etc. I simply use it for lots of chrome based web office work. So the battery, screen resolution etc. is good enough. I bought it on sale which is a good deal. Otherwise, I would buy an iPad instead.
