    Great product

I use my camera a lot – 5000-7500 pics a month. I read these came apart, lost lemons covers… no problems with mine over multiple uses monthly. The elastic will wear, but they sent multiple items. Recommend.

    These work great

If you are tired of losing lens caps, these a a must! The only thing is, I’m not sure if the strap is long enough if you have a huge telephoto lens. I only have a kit lens at this time and it works great.

    They work fine

They work but would be more useful if the elastic would be adjustable to different diameters. It waould be easy and inexpensive to add a sliding adjuster.

    Won’t lose a Cap Now

Purchased these so I won’t lose the protective caps on my deep sky binoculars. I used something similar to these with 35mm cameral lenses and they worked great. The adhesive is sufficient to securely hold the weight of a lens cap and the diameter of the elastic band is just the right size to fit over the lens but not slip off. I should have purchased these a long time ago. I rated “Easy to Remove” 3 stars only because I have no experience removing them from a lens cap. To ensure the strongest attachment, my only advice is to make sure your lens cap is clean before applying them.

    Doesn’t Stick Well

They don’t stick to lens cap and keep falling off. Very disappointed.EDIT: While I’m still disappointed in the product, I was very have with the customer service. Upon reading this post, they immediately offered me a full refund for the product. As a result, I am changing my rating. I can’t give it 4 or more stars but I think the customer service should at least be recognized.

    Handy to have

I love having these so I don’t lose my lens caps. I just don’t like having the company logo on it. I pulled that off. On the photo it just shows it as a black circle.

Using for a difference kind of cap

I’m actually using this for keeping the cap on my water bottle. So far it’s working great, the only thing I’d wish for is that the adhesive wasn’t a foam type and/or the plastic bit was thinner so the whole thing could be lower profile.

Item worked OK as intended. The garter fit a bit loose for my lens, but mine was micro 4/3 and may fit better for other lens sizes.

    I’d buy again

After loosing my lens cap for my Cannon EOS camera and having to buy a replacement I was looking for a product that would help me avoid loosing my lens cap. Having to hold the cap or place it in a pocket or in the camera bag for each photo – gets a bit old. I looked at a number of options and I settled on these 5 Altura Photo Lens Cap Keeper Holders that came with a bonus Magic Fiber lens wipe. These seemed to have good reviews and were offered at a reasonable price, even though I only needed one, I figured it’s not a bad thing to have spares or to even give them to family. The items came individually wrapped in plastic bags. And a note on the actual package as well as included inside advising that the company is committed to ensure each customer is 100% satisfied with the purchase. While there were no direction on attaching the lens cap holder to the camera, there was a youtube channel listed for directions. I didn’t feel the need to watch the video but rather was able to slide the elastic over my camera lens and then remove the sticker and attach it to a flat portion of my lens cap.I really like this product. The sticker that attaches to the cap is very secure and the elastic that surrounds the lens is the perfect fit. The length of the string is just the right length for my lens.I’m very happy with this purchase. For a small price, I have piece of mind about not loosing my lens cap. The MagicFiber wipe was a nice bonus too. It is a nice size (6″x7″) and works well.

A good limited time fix to hold camera lens covers

The glue patch measures 1/2″. Small, but does fit next to the Canon logo on my lens covers. Glue lasts a limited time, depending on camera use. Purchased previously.

Cap adhered to lens cap but not to tether cap

I bought the 5 pack and installed two. One worked ok. The other broke off in short order. The sticky pad stayed on the lens cap but the part that connect that sticky stuff to the tether became unstuck — cap fell to the ground. Maybe a result of the high temperatures (we were above 98 F when I was shooting).

    Does its job

I lost my lens cap on a trip I did a couple months ago which was very annoying. So I bought these. I have a compact telephoto lens that is about 6 inches long, but I had no problem with the cord length, and it’s super easy to attach to the lens cap. Best of all, I came home from my latest trip with the lens cap still on.

  24. RHK

    4.0 out of 5 stars

    Does to job well.

Only problem is the size of the circular attachment tab that sticks to the lens cap. It’s too large. Most lens caps have company/brand names or logos on the cap front, so the attachment for the cap keeper must fit into the remaining open, and hopefully flat, space. We got it to work, but an older cap keeper we still use has a must smaller, rectangular shaped attachment pad.

    worked fine for me

did a two week long vacation. temperatures were high, with a few days well over 100 deg F. i had absolutely no issues at all with adhesion, and i was taking the lens cap off and putting it on every couple minutes.i was a little concerned as my nikon lens cap was not flat, and i had to install the adhesive part on a curved plastic surface, but it held on just fine. Def worth the $

yesterday, after using my camera, I found lens cap disappeared, but the the keeper was right there, It’s obviously that the sticky is not enough. So I bought another lens cap.————————————Add comment:The seller’s service is good, they gave me refund and decided to improve the product.

They seem to do the trick

My initial opinion of these is good and the price is definitely right. To the amusement of my wife I am always panicking trying to find which pocket I put my lenses cap in after taking pictures. I have yet to lose one but it’s not good for my blood pressure (yes, I should always put them back in the same pocket so I know where to look). We are about to leave for a 6 month vacation around the world so I wanted some sort of retention device.I will update as I get some actual usage with them. The only concern I have is that my lenses cap has raised lettering for the manufacturer’s name which reduces the amount of flat surface for the adhesive to stick to. This is not a criticism of this vendor, just a concern of mine if they will last last as long as they might with a totally flat surface. I’m sure if it is a problem, I can find some adhesive to fix it.

    Convenient!

When I shoot pictures, I don’t want to figure out what to do with the lens cap when I remove it. So, to have it just dangle from the camera is great! And, when I need to put the lens cap back on, it’s right there.

The elastic is a total of 7 3/4″ in length (unstretched), too big around for my Olympus Pen lens

I bought these for my Olympus Pen e-pl8 digital camera. I’ve bought many lens keepers throughout the years but never had a problem with the elastic being too large. Sadly, these are. Unstretched, they measure 7 3/4″, which is about 3/4″ too large for my camera. So, it’s not the product itself that is not good, but the elastic is just plain too big and I wonder since it is a stretchy material, why the elastic wasn’t, say, 6 1/2″ in length so that it could be stretched to fit on the lens on almost any camera nice and snug. I’ve noticed none of these sellers show the actual unstretched length of the elastic loop, but in this case, size does matter.

An improvement might be to drop the loop that goes over the lens body and make that a small adhesive tab that attaches to the lens. I’ve not found any product that does that.

Close but could be improved on for smaller format lenses.

This is a great idea for holding on to your lens cap. I have an Olympus Micro 4/3 camera/lens and the lens caps do not have any loops on them to allow me to tie on and secure the cap when off the lens. The product does what it says but I took a star off for the reasons described below.Advantages:1. attaches easily2. holds lens cap3. have not lost a lens cap since got this productDisadvantages:1. on smaller lenses there is little room for the “rubber band” style attachment and it may slip and interfere with zoom function at times.2. on the rubber band end, the one that goes around the lens, there is a plastic protrusion about a half inch in length. This is how the cord from the lens cap attaches to the rubber band. This part does get in the way, especially with a smaller camera.3. I would have liked to see a smaller “sticker” piece for the lens cap. On a smaller lens/camera system it seems a bit overkill.Even with the above disadvantages, it does prevent me from loosing the lens cap so I am going to stick with it for now, or until a better solution presents itself.

    So far so good

I just got this so I will update if needed. However, so far it is great. The part that sticks to the lens is quite fat(?) but nothing wrong with that. The part that attaches to your strap was stretchy which was a surprise. It does what it is supposed to do so A+

Convenient Len Cap Keeper For Lens Cap Losers

Don’t you hate losing lens caps? Trying to find an exact original to replace it can be difficult so you are left to buy a third-party cap that may or may not fit well. Well, to avoid all that, use lens cap keepers. This five pack is more than enough for a semi/pro photographer. It’s easy to use, stick the small circular piece onto your cap, and then wrap the elastic end to your lens nearest to the camera body. The elastic is stretchy enough to anchor it to your lens.So whenever you’re taking photos, just take off the cap and it will just hang there. You won’t have to keep track of it or lose it (unless the strap breaks), but it looks to be durable enough for everyday use.Never lose a lens cap again! Recommended.— NOTE ON LENGTH —If you have a large lens, this may or may not work for you. A workaround is keeping the elastic band closest to your lens and not your camera body.

    Doesn’t stick together

For me, the plastic caps tend to at least initially not stick the foam adhesive body; perhaps they will stick when pressed or reglued, but it should be a basic requirement for the product that they stay together.

Should be standard on all lens caps

My stock zoom lens came with something similar, but other lenses did not. Having once had a cap go skipping down a hiking trail, I realized this would be a very useful accessory. Multiple cap keepers at a low price is cheap insurance.

Work great on my Canon lens caps

I recently purchased my first DSLR and the first time I used the camera, I took off the lens cap and said “Uh, what do I do with this now?”My previous camera, Canon SX30, had a strap on the lens cap, and I knew that’s what I wanted. But, with interchangeable lenses, I needed a different solution, and these altura lens cap keeper holders were the answer.I didn’t know how well the sticker would adhere to the Canon lens caps, since they have writing printed on them, but they stuck fine for me. I’ve only had them for a week, so I have no idea how long they’ll keep holding, but I’m happy with them so far. The strap fits nicely around the lens body and doesn’t seem to interfere with anything. My shortest portrait lens did make it tough to fit the strap without interference, but I think it will be fine now.My only concern would be if shooting video with the camera, and the lens cap whacking something on the camera and making noise while filming. Hopefully that won’t happen.

    Does the job.

I do a lot of shooting in nightclubs and concerts, where it’s relatively easy to misplace a lens cap. Not with these! Of course you wind up with a dangling lens cap, but that’s never got in my way.The holder sticks to the cap with what’s essentially a piece of double-sided tape. It’s pretty strong, but I have had one or two fall off over a period of years. A drop of superglue or something such before applying the sticker to the cap couldn’t hurt. And they’re a great value!

    Just What I Wanted

I purchased a set of these after I lost my kit lens cap. Though I replaced that cap, I figured I’d take a proactive approach and get some of these to prevent losses of caps in the future. For the money, it’s a great value and the piece of mind I get in not having to constantly check my pocket or nearby surfaces has already justified the purchase. (Extra bonus: not having to listen to my husband pick on me for “if your head wasn’t screwed on…” jabs. Score!)So it does what it says on the box. No frills, just a little adhesive disc danging on a cord from an elastic band that goes around the lens. The length from the elastic band is approximately 6 inches down to the end of the disc, so expect 8 or so inches with a lens attached. These are a little awkward, especially if you remove the lens with the cap on and set it down. It’ll cant to the side because the disc is rather thick (posted an image), so be wary of doing this. I’m also particularly wary of accidentally brushing or rubbing the keeper when storing the lens away in my camera bag. While gentle tests have assured me that the disc is affixed securely, I expect given time or a good hard knock will dislodge it. Some care has to be taken. Also, keep in mind that the band may obscure switches on pancake or small prime lenses. Though it is fairly firm, it sometimes shifts over my auto/manual switch on my 50mm f/1.8 prime. Still, these are, I feel, minor points for keeping track of my caps. The cloth was a nice, unexpected bonus; more than that, though (other reviewers mentioned this), I was pleasantly surprised to have also received a little note tucked in with contact details from the Digital Goya president. Though I hope not to need to contact him, I did like that little extra touch and direct methods to contact him should any issues arise.Edit (August 2 2013): One of these keepers finally bit the dust from some pretty rough manhandling. The plastic knob popped off and left the sticky pad on the lens cap after the line was yanked a bit too much. Considering it took some pretty rough handling to pull it apart, I’m still pleased that it lasted as long as it did. I would make a habit of pressing the plastic disc onto the cap firmly from time to time to prevent it from lifting up too much, but never had a problem with its grip. The only issue I had with removal was because the sticky pad was left on the lens, I had to peel it off and scrape off the residual glue left behind. This was a bit of a pain, but comes with the territory of sticking something firmly onto a surface. I could have simply re-glued the little cap back over the sticky pad to keep on using the keeper, but I just opted to remove it and use my spare keeper.Would definitely order some more when I need it.

    It’s fair….

Installing these are not hard at all. Removing and the adhesive is the problem. The plastic comes off of the spongy adhesive pad. I DO NOT keep my camera in super hot or cold temps to wear down on the adhesion of these.

    Got to Have!

Lens caps seem to be one of those things that the manufacturer designs to get lost. We were turned on to these little helpers a long time ago by a camera shop owners when camera shops still existed. He wouldn’t let his customers out of the store without these items for their cameras. So easy to attach. So easy to use and helps have one less thing to fumble with when you’re trying to get that sudden shot!
