Attractive microwave, solid performance
I got this microwave primarily because it looked nice and was compact enough to fit in my small kitchen. In the two years I’ve had it, it has been reliable, never any issues. The front dial makes it very easy to set a cook time. This is well worth the $100

A Tuck-In Zapper!
The Galanz looks sleek and is ideal to tuck into a corner of the countertop. It has intuitive controls and settings. Works smoothly. Like the little beep reminder that you left your item in the unit, so you can’t forget it! Neat colors also can add a splash of color.

Dig the color and the retro look
Got a Galanz blue mini fridge about 3 1/2 years ago when looking for a new full size fridge. They had a display of them on sale in the store so bought it basically on a whim cause we liked the design and color (had already started with the teal blue accent theme in the kitchen) just to have as an emergency back up/overflow/beer/soda fridge. It’s worked great ever since. So when the microwave that we’ve had for over 20 years started acting up for months and seemed to be getting worse we decided to get a microwave to match the fridge. We had also got the Galanz toaster oven which has been working great, so now we have a nice matching set of small appliances. The microwave works great, is easy to operate and has more options than I need! It still fits a dinner size plate but is a little smaller than our old microwave and heats just as well as the old one. I’m a fan of the color and the retro look so we are very happy Galanz customers. Don’t have the long term use to review with this yet (4 months) but so far all of our Galanz products have worked perfectly. Happy to recommend.

Cute Small Retro Microwave
I recently moved into a new apartment and it was built in the 40s. The apartment is reasonably small but my kitchen is tiny and the outlet situation is a bit of a challenge. I bought a Toshiba microwave and realized quickt that it was muuuuch too big for the space. I returned it and decided to buy this retro aesthetic microwave instead. I was hesitant as it is only 700 watts and after reading reviews I wasn’t sure if I was just paying for a pretty look rather than something that works well. Although, I haven’t had it that long, she works wonderfully. I have to warn you that I do not do hardcore cooking with my microwave. I do use it to defrost, rather I use it for the lightweight reheats, microwave meals, and soups. I was worried that perhaps I would have to run it for several minutes more but that hasn’t been the case. Sometimes I pop it in for an extra 30 seconds and it is fine. I have noticed slightly that there seems to be hot spots but for the most part, if the food is something I can stir then it makes the rest of the food hot and it hasn’t been a problem. If you are short on space then this may just be a saving grace. It is wonderfully small although my fiestware 10 inch plate does fit snugly. It is beautiful and easy to use.

My favorite microwave 😎
I admit, my main reason was the cool retro look. I suppose function should be #1, so I got lucky… Works perfect 👍 I did notice was quite a bit smaller than all my others, which turned out to be a benefit – I laughed thinking what in the world do I microwave that’s as big as a turkey? 😂 it’s an awesome look, works perfect and the controls are faster and simpler than any other microwave I’ve owned – I literally press the main button for just about anything and it’s done. I DID add some quality non-slip grips to the bottom because it is light, but now when you open, close, use it feels like it weighs 100lbs – nice.

So cute! Perfect size.
A fun colorful addition to my small kitchen. It’s the perfect size. Nice and compact. Big enough to reheat a container of food, defrost something, melt butter, etc…. Seems just as powerful as my previous larger microwave too. Very happy with it!

Exactly what I hoped it would be!
For years, I had a very large microwave in my pantry, thinking a smaller microwave would not do the trick for me. I looked at this microwave for months, read reviews, and finally bit the bullet. Yes, it does take a little longer to cook, but not much. The trade-off is worth it. I have much more available space in the pantry, it accommodates my large dinner plates, and is easier to use than my previous microwave, where I had to get my glasses, and had to enter the exact amount of time. Now, I just push the button as many times as needed (it clocks 30 seconds per click), and it is so attractive. I wish I had bought this a long time ago!

I Couldn’t Be Happier … So Far
First, the word I’d use to describe this microwave oven is “adorable.” I love the way the color contrasts with my equally vibrant appliances in other colors–red, jade, cobalt, etc. But I didn’t purchase this solely for its color. It’s the easiest microwave I’ve ever used. I couldn’t care less about the gazillion buttons designed to approach virtually any food, because I have an actual oven to cook in and stove to cook on and get the flavors and textures I desire. That’s not to say this oven doesn’t have features. I can set the power level, for instance. (It’s simply a useless function to me.) I can set the time, which I like. There are more things I can do, but I merely want to warm or reheat already cooked food or heat a cup of water.(Microwaveable popcorn, by the way, is one of the unhealthiest and potentially dangerous things one can eat, so I pop my own the old-fashioned way. No chemicals. Day-old pizza should never be reheated in a microwave, either, as there’s a fool-proof way for your conventional or toaster oven to yield the identical texture of a just-delivered fresh-baked. No more soggy crust and unevenly heated toppings. So, just 2 of many completely superfluous microwave buttons that I’d have to pay a lot extra for on another brand and model.) I’ve only been operating this microwave for a week, and it’s been a lifesaver in my new, small apartment. Here’s hoping it continues to run excellently for years to come. For right now, at least, I couldn’t be happier.

GALANZ we dig your Style
We had a red Galanz microwave before and although it was retro and cute if you don’t take care of your stuff by cleaning it – it breaks. So when time came to replace it I found this one and it’s heaven. Big round knob to set the time. All the buttons are raised so no more pressing them hoping they work. It’s small and compact but easily does the trick for the two of us. Great for a dorm room, a camper or just to have at home. We love it. And yes, we’re doing a better job keeping it clean!

Pretty but does not heat well
I wanted a good looking, compact microwave for my pantry. We typically only use the microwave for reheating coffee that we are too busy to drink. This fit the bill for looks and size. I was pleased when I opened it, but other reviewers are correct with its inefficient heating. I have to press 30 seconds multiple times for it to reheat my coffee, when my former microwave would have it piping hot in one 30 second stint. We will keep it because we are not very reliant on microwaves, but if you use yours on a daily basis, I would not recommend this one.

Gorgeous Red!
This red microwave is a beauty. It gives a lovely pop of colour to my kitchen. I have only used it once and it worked well. It will get some taking used to that there is no number pad (which I knew when purchasing)My major issue is that the control commands are small and black and do not stand out well to read, especially in low light. My last microwave was also a galanz which is 18 years old and I am replacing because it beeps softly and appears to have a short. But it served me well!

Looks pretty, with loud noise
This microwave (we bought the green one) looks very pretty in our kitchen. The only downside is it makes loud vibrating noise when heating food, much louder than the previous microwave we had. We returned and exchanged a different one (still with the green color) but the new one still has the same issue. We are now more or less used to its noise. But occasionally still get annoyed.

Great but small
First off, I love this thing. We got the matching Galanz large fridge last year when it was $400 for a bar area and this mw matches beautifully. Be aware that the smallest version listed (.7cuft?) is tiny. A Corelle dinner plate barely fits. That was my own fault and not the fault of the product. This was a secondary microwave for us, not a kitchen model fwiw. We did have a hiccup a few weeks in where it popped the surge protector once, but time will tell if that was more than a fluke. A small complaint on that note is the cord is very short imo, 3ft mayyybe, making placement a bit finnicky for anywhere but an open kitchen counter, hence the reason we have to use a power strip. The only other other appliance on the strip is a coffeemaker that was off at the time.

On my retro radar
I own a small Galanz refrigerator. It wasn’t necessarily my first choice; in fact, I had been looking at it for some time while hoping to find one without flammable refrigerant, but finally price dictated my choice. Sometimes, though, when we buy something with trepidation we find that things work out just fine! It’s kept my food cold without fuss for a year now, it’s relatively parsimonious with electricity, and the refrigerant seems disinclined to leave its cosy closed loop. In fact, I recently bought a second one.Similar factors came into play here — I might have preferred a larger cooking cavity and a bit more power, but this one’s inside volume and 900 watts of radar range zap are more than sufficient to heat up dinner for two. It’s small but fairly priced, and if my experience with their refrigerator is any guide, likely to do the job for a good while.Sometimes low-cost products can actually give good value. Imagine that.

Size matters.
Opening is slightly too small to slide in a normal sized plate. I needed to tilt my plate to fit inside. Not a big deal but somewhat surprising.

Small perfect for tight spaces
Our small Whirlpool microwave that was made for corner spaces died after 12yrs! And I wasn’t about to spend over $200(+) for the same one(that’s the cost of them now)We hunted for a small one that had great ratings and this was it. It looks great and is super easy . We have to get used to the new power because my old one was dying so the power wasn’t that great. My only issue is the plastic wheel piece that turns the glass top shifts and at times causing the glass turntable to come off its track. I have to make sure everything is centered so it won’t do that. I never seen a microwave that does this . They have to make the round plastic wheelie thing less flimsy and not able to float around. BUT all that said I do love it and I would recommend it to anyone.

Snap, crackle and POP! RIP little microwave.
Retro style and in red was the attraction. Price was right but so often you get what you pay for which wasn’t much. Always heated unevenly, had to stir things up mid heating i.e bowl of pasta, soup, stew. I mostly used it for quick warming : milk for my coffee , my coffee, to soften hard ice cream. Nothing major. So today, it decided to give up the ghost with a large SNAP! and then no heat. Guess that cup of milk was too much for it. It was so young, only a year. So lightly used, too. And can you believe (lol) just a month and a bit past return and over warranty! My microwave prior lasted for YEARS! Hear that , Galanz? YEARS. I shouldn’t have fallen for that retro red styling with an exotic brand name.

Looks great but touchy
It works well but sometimes it just stops in the middle and displays the word FAIL. Idk why it’s so moody like that, you can clear it but if you weren’t paying attention, you don’t know what the remaining time was. It’s very nice looking, I just have to take away a star for occasionally being unreliable.

Portable!
My sis and I like going to a resort a couple of hours from the City we live in. For some reason, they do not provide a microwave in their cottages which is crazy because the place is not cheap-they are not cheap. I bought the microwave simply because it was fairly light and inexpensive. I like to reheat my coffee in the morning and I like to snack at night, popcorn being a favorite. I’m giving it 5 stars because I was able to make my sis a full breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon! That saved us at least $30 for the two of us for each time we did it. It paid for itself over the course of 3-4 days. There are not many products that can claim that. Is it appropriate for a big family, no. But it’s perfect for dorm rooms, singles to couples and everything in between. Loved it!!

Nice Looking, But Less Than…
I bought it because of the look, color, price, and reviews. Now Amazon reviews, if a good sample size, generally give a pretty good indication of a given product’s worth. Now, perhaps I received a one-off less than from Galanz, but I doubt that’s completely sure…especially because of the price (which was cheap I admit). Even so, and while it does work “OK”, I need to point out a few things that have kept my rating at three stars.First, it is loud by microwave standards with a “rat a tat tat” kind of sound when turned on. Yes, it does work but is relatively loud and annoying. Guessing it is the fan motor that is making this sound, but it could be something else. This just questions the quality (or quality control) of the manufacturer. Yes, I know it’s relatively cheap, but still, this is something mechanical that will obviously wear faster than it should and not something cosmetic and harmless. The second and third issues I have are with the time selection for operating the different cooking features (completely subjective I know) and the way the unit operating as a microwave oven uses its power source (the magnetron) to heat the food. The timer is set by dial rotation which works well…but in 10-second increments. This is just a personal thing, but I don’t like not being able to control the cooking time a little more precisely. Also, I know it’s a cheap unit and does actually work, but not really all that well or consistently. It tends to be very target-focused at the center of the rotating plate and will at times overcook in the center and undercook the edges (of course this is food-dependent…as this is not an issue when heating just liquids for example). Bottom line…this microwave is just OK and nothing more (other than it being cute I suppose. However, it’s just annoying enough that its looks and price are not going to save it. I’m going to bite the bullet and upgrade a bit (which is what I originally set out to do).

Pretty!
My previous Nostalgia brand microwave went out after 3 years. They don’t make microwaves like they used to. The cost has gone up but quality has gone down. When I was a teen you could get a microwave for 20 dollars that worked for 30 years, now they’re over $100 and barely lasts a decade. This one is smaller than my previous one but it’s cute. Obviously I need this color badly for my kitchen. Doesn’t have the pre programmed food settings like my other one but it’s ok. I think $80 is ridiculous to pay for a microwave but what can I say, I’m a sucker for Mint Green.

It works
I like it. Looks good. Didn’t realize it was smaller than my old one, but that is cool, didn’t really look at those specs. Overall it does the job. I don’t use my microwave for anything major, just b-fast burritos, microwave frozen dinners, and popcorn. It definitely doesn’t do popcorn as well as my old 20 year microwave. Plenty of kernels that go un-popped. Time it just a little longer, they get burned. I can live with this. Everything else gets done right, so I am good.

Great Little Microwave
What an attractive little microwave this is. Like half the size of my previous highly rated one that took up so much counter space and with its black and chrome, added nothing to my kitchen’s ambiance. For me its not the retro look but color and size that I like. Instead of sitting there like a large hunk of functional steel and plastic, this adds a little verve to the kitchen. Its the perfect size for one person to warm up plates of food, heat up a cup a joe, defrost a half-a-dozen chicken wings, etc.Operationally, this is also one of the easiest microwaves to use. So many you have to keep hitting touch buttons that are hard to see and activate if the light isn’t just right. I love that hitting the main dial gets you going without a lot of fuss and hitting it again adds thirty seconds. This is so much more intuitive and simple than other microwaves.Hard to know how long it will last, but based on all the other positives, I would highly rate this.

Ease of use / Compact
Exactly what I was looking for . Compact and accommodates a full size dinner plate. It heats up quick enough. I do use it to cook certain frozen foods such as a chicken pot pie. It’s not over complicated and does not have all those overly complicated functions that I think most of us don’t use any. Simplicity is the key to a good design.

so far so good
I’ve had my eye on this microwave for a while and after ordering one that was way too big for my space, I decided to go for it despite a small percentage of reviews that mentioned catching fire/turning on spontaneously. So far, this microwave works great. It has all the features I wanted: elevated buttons (my last microwave had a flat button panel and that’s what wound up breaking), a clear start button, turn dial for time setting, a clock and timer function, and it looks great and matches my retro toaster. The handle is a manual one–no push button to open it but that hasn’t been a big issue. I had originally ordered the 1.1 cubic foot/1000 watt model but received the .9 cubic foot/900 watt. Having previously had a 1000 watt microwave I don’t see a big difference in heating time. Some things take a while but that’s life with a small microwave and Amazon wound up refunding the price difference for me so it’s fine.Love the color, rounded edges, and overall look.So far it’s worked as expected without any unexpected issues and I hope it will continue to be so for a good long while.
