input cable is built in
These are fine, but the input cable is built in, so you can’t use a different cable without an adapter or something. I wanted to be able to plug my iPhone into it with a lighting-to-1/4″ plug, but there’s no jack. I’d need a female-to-female 1/4″ adapter.

Exactly what you are paying for
These do exactly what you would expect basic stereo computer speakers should. Honestly, they work better than I anticipated. I wouldn’t recommend any stereo speakers for gaming, a headset is one million times better.

BLUE light, so BRIGHT!!
The speakers are great – good sound quality for my pc, easy to set up.but my-oh-my, that little blue light on the front of the control speaker is way too bright!! it distracts from the computer monitor it sits next to and draws your eye, no matter where you are in the room. I’ll put a piece of tape over it, so it will be okay… but it kinda goes without saying that that should NOT be necessary, right?

I don’t like leaving my speakers on all the time, so it’s kind of annoying to have to turn the volume to 0 to turn it off. Everything else works great. Sound is good enough for the price. Honestly can’t believe it has lasted a month for what I paid.

For the cost they sound great the only very minor issue is the Blue LED for Power ON is crazy bright I ended up putting a small piece of electrical tape over the LED to Black it out

Pretty Good 👍
I like that they are connected so you don’t need 2 connections, I like the all black color and easy volume change. Not Bluetooth but that’s just makes it easier you don’t have to charge. I just wish it was a little shorter so it fit under my monitor instead of behind it. Audio quality is average nothing special and nothing bad about it. Nice product

All I Need
I use my wired desktop computer less than an hour a week to do money things. The JBL speakers I used since 2003 were probably fine.I threw them out one day and still wonder why. I didn’t think I needed sound at all, but found out I did.So I bought these speakers open box.I wonder if I could have bluetoothed an Echo. It wasn’t important enough to figure it out.These heavy little speakers with strangely thick cables work for my purpose.I’m ashamed of them really, if anyone would see them. They are little clunky bricks. I’ll see if I can stick them to the wall some how so they’ll quit falling off my desk. But they work.

adequate
These speakers have adequate, but not great, sound quality. I bought them to connect to the portable DVD player I purchased a year or two ago but didn’t use often because the sound was so tinny. These are an improvement over that. The one design flaw, which I read about in other reviews before purchasing, is the blindingly bright blue light on the speaker front indicating it is receiving power. If the speakers are facing one, the light is harsh and distracting. Following other reviewers’ suggestions, I covered the light with multiple layers of duct tape until the light no longer shone through the tape.

Good clarity and design, very weak bass.
I want a minimalist desktop and purchased these since they’re small and solid black. I got the AC version. They are well constructed and the volume knob in particular is superior to any other cheap desktop speaker I’ve tried. It’s easy to twist but not loose, so you can get it dialed in precisely where you want it. I’m also a fan of the appearance – the front panel is a black perforated metal which just barely reflects ambient light. You can also place a square of black electrical tape over the blue LED to dampen it.Now on to sound quality. The clarity of the speakers is impressive given the price range. I can hear voices and high/medium notes very clearly, and there is no static or humming that I detect. But the one problem with these is that there is VERY little bass. I actually knocked 2 stars off the review, the lack of lower frequencies is very noticeable and it could’ve been a 5 star product otherwise. I was hoping that the AC powered version would have some decent kick but they are surprisingly weak in this regard. I would skip these if you’re going to be listening to lots of music at your desktop; for other purposes they are a good purchase.

Sound is good, but…
Bought these as replacement speakers for my 89 year old dad’s laptop. They sound good for the money. Only gripe is they are easily toppled over. They are beveled to point upwards but it compromises their balance. Hence, they fall over backwards easy. Bought some sticky pads to remedy. Design flaw evidently. Look elsewhere.

Saw some reviews how they said they were surprised by the quality. $18 speakers how great can they be right? Boy I was surprised. It’s not the best in the world but probably the best $18 speakers out there. I just don’t like how bright the blue light was. Slapped a piece of electrical tape and problem solved. It does the job

They’re Speakers
Title. They’re speakers. They aren’t GOOD speakers, but they are speakers. Good for if you usually wear wired headphones but sometimes want to step away from your desktop for whatever reason.Buyer beware, these may produce an unpleasant buzzing noise when in use.

$10.97 for Basic Computer Speakers – Good Quality Considering Rock Bottom Price
This is a “stripped down” very basic pair of speakers for your laptop, Chromebook or PC. For only $10.97 I did not expect much, but this is actually pretty good quality considering it cost a mere $10.97. These are ONLY for listening when you are sitting within 5-6 feet of your laptop, Chromebook or PC and NOT for listening on the opposite side of the room 20-30 feet away. No biggie – cos what do you expect for merely $10.97?It has a very simple volume control knob. A 3rd grade kid could figure out how to install these speakers. I didn’t even need to read the instruction book! I just opened the box, pulled out the packaging and popped in the USB plug, the round, long prong and put it into the internal socket on my Chromebook. Then I quickly inserted the 3rd peripheral into my Chromebook plug, turned on the volume to full blast and BINGO! I had really clear volume instantly.Later on I read the warranty info and owners manual. Not much really to study since this is definitely “Bare Bones” “strippe down” very basic PC, laptop, Chromebook speakers. This is a sold, very low priced pair of speakers good for increasing the volume on your computer to listen to You Tube videos, streaming video. Let’s face it – the speakers that come pre-installed on most Chromebooks, PC’s and laptops are pretty weak. If you want louder quality audio – this is a pretty nifty “stripped down basic” pair of speakers for a rock bottom price.I was listening to a PBS streaming video documentary on Maria Callas – the late, great, brilliant opera diva from the 1950’s – 1960’s and the sound quality of Maria Callas operatic solos was crystal clear. I could also clearly hear the symphony orchestra in the background accompanying Maria Callas in her world class tour de force performance at La Scala in Italy and the Met Opera way back in the late 1950’s – early 1960’s.If you are on a really tight budget and want to oomph up the audio volume on your laptop, PC or Chromebook you get a LOT of “bang for your buck”. Don’t expect any fancy “Bells and Whistles”. There is a basic, simple audio volume control knob on one of the speakers – but it does the job!I highly recommend it!IT was quite well packaged with a LOT of durable protective cardboard packaging inside specifically designed to cushion both speakers. I just wish Amazon would GET THERE ACT TOGETHER AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE STOP INCLUDING THE TOTALLY UNECCESSARY PLASTIC BAG that cannot be recycled. Amazon brags TOO MUCH about being so-called “Green” and environmentally friendly but that is NOT TRUE! The box the speakers came in was MORE than sufficient for the packaging. Amazon shipped this direct from their warehouse and insisted on including a COMPLETELY UNCESSESSARY PLASTIC BAG that cannot be recycled and will wind up in the ocean’s Plastic Gyre or toxic dump landfill.AMAZON GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER and eliminate completely uncessary plastic bag packaging! Also for goodness sake ELIMINATE that darn bubble wrap plastic cushioning. These speakers came in a very sturdy box from the factory that already included a very durable specially molded cardboard cushioning object that was quite sturdy THE PLASTIC BAG THAT CANNOT BE RECYCLED WAS 100% UNCESSESSARY.I decided awhile ago to ORDER LESS FROM AMAZON because they allege they are “Green” but their packaging is excessive – too much plastic and bad for the environment!

Two years in, still great
I bought these speakers two years ago, and they are just as good as when I bought them. The sound is great for the price. It has nice range, though the bass could be a bit deeper. I use these for gaming, and music. I have never had any issues with them. I would definitely buy these again, if I needed cheap speakers.

Decent for the price, with a few flaws.
Given the low cost, there are quite a few positives about these speakers. They are solidly made, fairly compact, look nice, the controls feel of decent quality, and the sound is decent. The bass is mediocre, but that is to be expected. They work fine for my uses which is primary computer audio, voice and background music.I thought they just had a single USB connection that provided power and audio to the speakers. It actually a separate USB and audio jack combined into a single cable. I guess the audio jack gives flexibility with connecting to a source like a phone, but you would still need a power source for the USB plug. I pulled the two halves of the cable apart and and plugged the USB into an outlet using a USB power block.The LED light is much brighter than it needs to be. I have the speakers in my home office and at night the light shines across the hall into my bedroom enough to be annoying. I often turn off the speakers to kill the light. If the USB is plugged into a computer, the light will go out if you power off the computer (but not if in sleep mode).

Just What I Needed
In my home office 1 pc is for work the other to play — games music etc when I need to take a break from work stuff but mostly I play music apps on it and the old plug-in pc speakers gave up the ghost the other day. So I ordered these in the hopes they would be good with the equalizer app I use – when I saw they were 10 watt and $30 I ordered them and am glad I did without the equalizer they still have depth and a surround sound quality for small speakers. With the equalizer they’re even better. Only wish they had cords so I could elevate them but no biggie they fill the room with nice ambient sound just in opposite corners on that desk. Set up was a breeze and am very happy.

Well worth the 20 bucks honestly
Sounds very good for anything you’d use them for as long as you don’t expect them to out preform their price point. Very solid vocals and highs. I bought them to use in my office at work but tested at home on music and some games and they did very well.Now for the bad.Blue light is suuuuuuper bright.The absolute worst part about the speakers is they have a very low volume whine to them thats always present. When you are actively listening to media it isn’t an issue but it you don’t have anything playing it is just present enough to slowly drive you insane in a quiet room. I think they’ll be a perfect fit for my uses but I wouldn’t buy another for my personal setup useless I absolutely didn’t have cash for anything name brand like klipsh Logitech or CA in that order

I’m beginning to like the Amazon Basics brand for – as it says – basic – PC stuff. Everything just works as you expect. No frills but good quality. These speakers are no exception. They do their job and the adjustable volume control is nice.

Great speakers on a budget
I bought these mainly because my office had old white speakers and I wanted black to match. These speakers not only looked better but their sound is really good for how small they are and their price. The blue power light is SUPER bright and I will be covering it with tape because it’s blinding, but that’s not a big enough complaint to knock it down a star. Best speakers for the price!

Decent for the price
I initially ran these through my headphone jack on my PC, but the volume was super low. I now plug it into my Scarlet Solo monitor output and honestly, the sound is pretty banger for like… $25? virtually no bass, but that’s kind of to be expected. It’s fine for watching youtube while playing casual games which is all I wanted them for.

You get what you pay for
I’ve had these for a few months now so don’t mind the dust in the photos. Good to know though that they do attract dust so if you live in a household with lots of dust or cats or pets you’re probably going to end up with fuzz all over the front of these. I do not move these at all, so this dust is all natural.This speaker is definitely louder than my base computer speakers but not by very much so don’t expect the best sound. No bluetooth available, very basic plug and play.There is an extremely bright LED blue light on the front that is extremely blinding even during the day no matter where you point it. I immediately covered it with 3 Coats of black nail polish while the speaker was laid on its back and then I let it dry for 12 hours overnight and that solved the led problem. I cant see any light at all now.I leave these speakers turned all the way up on the knob and I control the volume on my actual computer rather than twisting the knob. It works great turned all the way up, no buzzing. Good tone. It is really nice to have the aux in plug option if you have somebody who would like to Jack directly into the computer cause that is pretty cool.Once again I’ll say you get exactly what you pay for and if you add in a cheap base speaker this setup will probably provide you exactly what you need until you can get a proper set up.If you are a college student or somebody who is poor in living a very baseline minimalist lifestyle this is definitely going to do exactly what you need to do.Also, you can get the Amazon basics logo off the front of the speakers with nail Polish remover or icypropol alcohol. After that you just have plain Black speakers.I really had an extremely hard time finding a pair of speakers that plug into my computer that do not use a plug on my wall socket meaning the speakers get the power from the computer that also had no lights and were just minimalist in any color. If you are like me and this is what you are looking for, definitely buy these speakers and do the minor maintenance to make them perfect.

Got these speakers yesterday & like them
I won’t use these speakers for gaming, so couldn’t do an honest rating for that, but like them for listening to music. I am so glad Amazon still sells the type that plug into AC outlet. These are VERY easy to set up and I’m no tech wizard, so that’s saying something. They to tip over easily, so I just laid them on their side. Please keep selling the AC version, as not everyone wants to use USB version. I had some previously from Logitech, but think I like the sound better on Amazon’s Basics brand. The power cord is quite long, but no problem. I just like the entire concept with these speakers. I ordered them on Monday and received them on following Monday. I wish the drivers would knock when they leave packages, though! (Ever hear of package theft?)

I have a 24″ tv in my bedroom, the tv is great … except for the speakers. Basic speakers, but that’s what I was after
Honestly, these are about as basic as you can get, but they’re not bad quality. I hooked them up into my Nintendo Switch so that I could have sound when I play it docked, when connected to a monitor that has no native speakers. The setup is a little janky, but it works fine, and the speakers have a good range of volume and are inconspicuous. My biggest gripe about them is the blue Power indicator LED.. that thing is *SO BRIGHT*. I had to put tape over the LED because it was so bright it was actually affecting my ability to see the screen clearly. Try playing a video game with a flashlight shining into your face. Not only is it distracting, it actually makes the screen harder to see.. so just be aware of that. Put tape over the LED to dampen that thing or turn the speakers around or something, because yikes. Thankfully, the LED turns off when the speakers are powered off, so at least if the speakers aren’t on, yet still plugged in, you won’t have the LED on. Overall, I like them a lot, and they are doing the job just fine that I bought them for, just that LED is way too bright.

Yes, we know we have Blue LEDs now. Introduced in 1990. Were put in products to show that they were “classy” once the price came down so they no longer were. Why are RED LEDs not a thing? Doesn’t make you not see your monitor, because they are so bright. Doesn’t kill your night vision. All around a better solution.Speakers are decent for the money. I used audio output from a monitor and power by the USB on the monitor. Works well to use HDMI output audio from a TV Stick and another HDMI to get from a computer.

Pros: Small and works well for what I use them for which is watching movies and gaming.cons: I had to put electrical tape over the LED as it is so bright it is very distracting. A dim LED would be much better.

Could be a bit louder, I mean I know they are small and cheap but they dont do what I thought they would, however it is much better than laptop speakers, so for the cheap cost and small profile it is more than likely worth it, just be prepared to reurn in for some reason you dont work well!
