    Excellent quality

Light and easy to hook up to Apple M2 Computer. Much nicer than Apple monitor. It was recommended as the best and it really is.

    Using as a work monitor…a-ok

I’m using this as a third monitor in my work set up. I say this because the graphics for text, web browsing, and such are very good. The brightness for videos is decent, and for the price I don’t think it’s a bad deal. I can’t comment on how this would look for gaming as I don’t use it in that capacity. Very basic input, only has power, two HDMI ports, and one display port.Set up is fairly easy, and I’m using it with a swing arm out. Curvature is just enough to where it provides benefits, but not so much that it’s overly noticeable with documents and text. The matte finish on the screen reduces glare, and for my application this is a benefit.I got this open box, and it turned out to be a great deal!

A great monitor but not the best for the Xbox Series X/ Ps5

I bought this monitor for my new Xbox Series X. Since the console had all that power I thought I should have a monitor to enjoy it with. Don’t make my mistake. Buy something else. While this monitor runs at 4K just fine on my xbox it does not support other things that I wish I had. HDR. 120HZ at 1440p.I’m going to let you in on a secret. I can’t tell the difference between this 4K monitor and my 1080P monitor. Both are 32″ I use a smaller monitor for gaming so that I have more of the screen in my vision at a time. The smaller the screen the harder it is to see the difference in resolution.I think the best solution for a next gen console is to get a 1440P monitor with HDR and 120hz. You can find them at the $300 mark.

    Higher resolution worth the price

I bought this one because of the higher resolution. Don’t be fooled by screens with a big size, but the same resolution as smaller screens!I originally bought a lower resolution 30″ monitor thinking “bigger is better” – VERY wrong! The previous screen was 30″, but the same resolution as the 22″ one it replaced. Yes things were bigger, but sitting at normal distance it was blurry… basically the 22″ stretched out to be bigger. Picture walking up close to a big screen TV… it looks great from a distance, but up close it looks awful. This AOC monitor gave the higher resolution, which gives more “real” room for programs up on the screen. Things don’t look stretched out or blurry, just more space for programs, more columns showing on spreadsheets, etc. When buying a monitor, ALWAYS look at the resolution. If its a big screen with low 1920×1080 resolutions…. DON’T buy it because it’s cheaper! Going from 1920×1080 up to the 2560×1440 resolution on this one may not sound like much of a difference, but when opening programs its a very big difference!Get the highest resolution you can afford, your eyes will thank you. So far I’m very pleased with this one and would recommend it.

    Great color!

You can’t buy a descent color ‘calibrated’ monitor at the box stores and other options online go from expensive to really expensive. These AOC monitors look great out of the box. For the price I would not get anything else. I have the 32” UHD version and on windows it works fantastic.

    great product

Can’t give it perfect score since FRAME RATE for highest res is ~60 and I also haven’t had it long enough to give it 5 stars. But so far it’s great purchase TEXT for FONTS is way easier to read even when smaller than my other screen. The DPI pixel increase is worth it. Colors most people especially men can see that many anyways so don’t matter to me. But colors seem TRUE meaning R G B look good but of course can be adjusted. I give it a good rating too since not enough pixel damage if any when arrived so great shipping. TIP: For newbies always remember to let your monitor warm up to room temperature before using. The reason I bought this is this my SECOND AOC monitor which has lasted without failure yet pixel quality it’s up to par anymore, but it was 3D monitor so I still have it as my secondary monitor floating in air here. The size of the 4K AOC is about right if you have a full size desk for gaming. If your not gaming but using it for work you still might want a bigger one. The gaming on a mid size desk or something might even want smaller so your field of view stays within unless your a young kid who sees with peripheral vision at same time.

Good Budget 4K Monitor, But Only 100% sRGB

**ONE MONTH UPDATE**Not only was I depressed to find that the monitor is now more than $100 less than what I originally paid just over a month later, but now the HDMI ports don’t seem to work at all. Just a week ago I was switching between DP and HDMI Port 1 to stream with no issue. But now? Nothing from the HDMI Ports.I’ve plugged in multiple devices and nada. In fact, when I even attempt to use my Elgato HD60 S+ in said HDMI, the device loses ITS signal, and I have to unplug the output HDMI and reboot the device. So I’m removing two of the stars from my original rating. It’s a beautiful image, and if you need a budget 4K Displayport and can get it for less than $300 (as it’s currently listed March 23 2021), by all means this monitor is fine. But don’t expect it last…******So, this is my 2nd AOC monitor as the first one I ordered was apparently the official ball of the World Cup before being delivered… Getting that mini-vent out of the way, let’s start with the cons:I will say this is definitely a budget 10-bit 4k. It has a light-plastic casing, only 3 inputs (1 DP, 2 HDMI), and while it is 3/4 borderless, the display does not completely fill the screen. I’ve attached the monitor to a VESA desk mount (the mount is a full 100mm, fyi), and I feel like I need to be extra careful moving it. The other major issue is the 108% sRGB description is wrong; It is 100% sRGB, calibrated using a Spyder5 Elite. This is what I am most disappointed about, since I bought this for video color correction, and the other color ranges suffer in turn (pictures attached). I know if I want accurate an accurate range I’m going to have to really jump up, but for now, this is where my budget took me…That said… For $400, you could do a whole lot worse. To the eye, the image is bright and vibrant. I’ve watched a few 4k60 videos online, as well as some 10-Bit 4K GH5 footage I shot, and I’m pleased with the presentation thus far. I’m going to do some gaming on it, but at 60hz, I’m mostly just looking for the cinematic vs response.I will come back to this review in about 6 months or so, as some of the reviews here to tend to have issues, and I want to keep as accurate an account as I can. I put up with a lot of BS to finally get this monitor, it’s only right to now to my due diligence in giving and accurate review.

    Great budget 1440p monitor

Has great image quality, at least for me coming from a 27 inch 1080p screen. The refresh rate(75hz) is good for what it is and the response time (4ms) is great for a monitor this size and price. It’s not the best for gaming due to it not being made for it, but it works fine for me and my older graphics card. Games and media look great at 1440p, provided you have the hardware to run it. Color accuracy is alright, but far from perfect, but the IPS panel has pretty good viewing angles.Coming from my old curved screen I will say eye fatigue sets in faster with this monitor, but after setting up the blue light filter in the OSD it has been toned down substantially. The mention OSD is easy to use and navigate and had many presets and features you can tweak. All in all the monitor is great. I had always heard good things about these cheaper AOC monitors so I took a chance and bought this instead of the Lenovo I was originally going to. So far its performance has been incredible for the price I paid ($220) with no dead pixels to report, time will tell about reliability and longevity. So if you’re looking for a cheap 1440p monitor, this one seems to be a great option so far.

    best monitor for the buck

I wanted to set up a homework desktop and this was the one I decided to go with. I am very happy with this monitor. Easy to install, pretty simple setup and I love the fact it has 5/6 different brightness settings which helps a lot. Sometimes I need the monitor to be dim and other times bright. Having that option is so helpful. It’s also not that heavy. This works very well with my MACBOOK PRO M1 2022. If you’re looking for a monitor, this it is. Go for it. Price is very reasonable compared to the quality you get. I have had it for almost a year now or may be more, It’s still working absolutely beautifully.

    Great for Readers

I had purchased a couple of other monitors and noticed that they caused a great deal of eye fatigue because they inconsistently reproduced the text I was trying to read. If you are looking for a simple monitor with good detail, this is the monitor for you. I’m impressed with how much clearer text is on this monitor. Generally, it works very smoothly. I did have to turn up the brightness a little bit, but that might just be personal preference. Everything else on the market was 2 to 3 times more expensive. So far this is been a great deal. I’ll come back if there any dependability issues.

    Importance of DPort cable

Bought this monitor because it’s capable of more than 1920×1080 resolution. Got it, hooked it up, and no, the best I could get was 1920×1080. Assumed it was the graphic card in my Dell computer and ordered a “better” third-party card. I did a little googling yesterday and found someone mentioned about making sure you use a Display port to Display port cable, not the HDMI to Dport cable. Well, that’s what I used, an HDMI cable from this monitor to the DPort on my computer, utilizing an adapter. Got a cable that’s DPort on both ends today, plugged it in, and voila! It’s now capable of the 2440×1440 resolution I was hoping for. So, sometimes the answer’s in the cabling!

If you need 4K on a budget, look no further

Pros:- Price. You simply cannot find another product at a lower price that matches this quality.- The color accuracy out of the box is great. After professional calibration, it is excellent.- Easy tool-free assembly means you’ll be up and running in a matter of minutes!- The screen is light in weight, especially for the size! Being a 27-inch display, you might expect it to weigh more, but the panel uses plastic, not glass. This makes it light and easy to carry, move.- This model also supports VESA mounts, if you want to add a flexible arm to your setup.Cons:- The screen brightness is only okay, but that drawback only matters if there is direct sunlight where you are using it. I wouldn’t recommend using with your back to a window, but otherwise, it is more than acceptable for indoor use.- Matte screens don’t have the same depth or punch to them, in terms of contrast. For the price of this model however, I don’t expect glass with anti-reflective coating. This is a minor drawback, but if you need maximum contrast, look elsewhere.- Pixel response. This is an IPS panel. The advantages of high color accuracy are countered by higher response cycles. This leads to minor ghosting, and is most apparent when objects on screen are white, and moving across a black background.I do not recommend this for gaming, and that’s not the reason I bought it. If you are planning to use productivity and creative tools (e.g., Adobe CC, CAD, web design, etc.) this is easily the most bang for the buck. The screen will pull you into your work – seriously, 27-inches is basically the perfect size for these kinds of tasks.

    Important for Mac users

Background: I had been using a 2015 27″ iMac, with a pair matching 27″ Thunderbolt Displays. A few months ago I decided to “upgrade” to a 2013 “trash can” Mac Pro, which has been a superb computer. However, that meant I was down to 2 displays. I work from home and at any given time I have a LOT of docs and apps and Explorer windows open. I know it sounds greedy, but I had really gotten spoiled using 3 27″ displays. So, I did some research and decided to pick up this AOC monitor. Unfortunately, I discovered too late that the 2013 Mac doesn’t support HDMI 2.0, and that connecting the display directly to the Mac’s HDMI port meant that I could only get 30Hz. The resolution was far from desirable.I picked up an active HDMI to mini adapter so that I could connect it to one of the Mac’s Thunderbolt ports, as the Mac can support 6 Thunderbolt displays. But I found that even with scaling the display, it didn’t quite match the two TB displays, and cursor movement was very jerky.I’ve decided to return the monitor and pick up an Apple Thunderbolt display instead.I would not say that this is a bad monitor at all. In fact, the picture quality and color were quite good for its price range. It’s just not a suitable fit for my Mac Pro.I have learned over 40 years of using computers that you really do need your displays to match each other, and I didn’t think this one through enough.

    Works.

Preface: Im not someone who tests performances and refresh rates in any scientific manner.One-Month Updates:I’m reducing my overall rating as I’ve had a more opportunity to use the monitor. I’m using this as a second monitor for my Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and my primary monitor for my desktop (no, you cannot use it for two computers at once, at least not that I have seen). Even though this was a massive upgrade from what I had, over time, I’ve become aware of its inadequacies. This monitor is clearly not at the quality level of the surface pro, which is crisp and bright. I wish I did, but I don’t know the terminology; this monitor’s “white” clearly has the look of lots of colors speckled together. The edges are not as crisp and clear as the surface pro.I find the base takes up a lot of space on my desk, which is cramping my style. Better with a minimalist style. I saw somewhere that it’s compatible with a VESA mount 100×100. So, I might try that, but the base is ugh.The size is nice for multitasking, I use the monitor for classes, browsing, photo editing, some art, and stock watching. It’s a huge visual improvement over the monitor I had from 2012 that was top of the line in its time.I haven’t ordered any prints from my photo edits since getting the monitor; therefore, I currently cannot express my feelings about color accuracy. If you are a professional or meticulous about precision, I recommend doing your research and trying for yourself. It’s still good enough for my use.

    Importance on different ports

I’m sure some people may have concerns or questions bout the different ports. As the description says, there is one Display Port, HDMI 2.0, and HDMI 1.4. After some asking around and research, I would say be sure whether you really need two HDMI ports or not. The common port used would be the HDMI 1.4, and the stock HDMI cable that is in the box is a 1.4. If you plan on using the 2.0, I was told that you should be using the correct (speed) cable or you may lead to some problems. For those who attempt to plug in a HDMI and Display Port cable (opposite ends), it will only work in the HDMI 2.0 port to Display Port. However, you will lead into the refresh rate issue (your settings will tell you that your display is only 30hz). For a typical setup of HDMI 1.4 main or Display Port main, it will be 60hz (or slightly less but close). Color is amazing, but I do recommend using your Night light screen settings for your eyes’ sake.

Nice 4K for a good price

Display is bright and crisp. No dead/stuck pixels that I can see.The provided stand is flimsy: it doesn’t take much table-shake to start the screen flapping back and forth. The screen has VESA mounting holes but the stand uses a tab-and-latch attachment, can only be installed in a landscape orientation, and offers only tilt adjustment. Be prepared to shell out for a better mounting solution.”Frameless” can be justified as almost no plastic bezel on three sides of the screen (the bottom edge is significantly wider). The display panel itself has a few mm of black border around the active area so butting two of these side-by-side creates more dead space down the middle than you might expect.I don’t game on this so I can’t comment on how it would perform. It’s great for office work.DisplayPort seems to be especially picky about the cables, blacking out the display if it loses sync. The supplied DP-DP cable is probably fine, but if you need a miniDP-DP cable (my video card only has miniDP ports) be sure to get one that’s rated for 4K@60Hz. I’m not using the HDMI port but I’d guess the same applies for HDMI cables. No built-in speakers or USB hub. Understandable at this price point, and most people probably wouldn’t end up using them anyway. Not enough hours to comment on durability but no issues so far.

This is a rare poor review from me

I usually write up good products and rarely get stuck with bad products. And a cheap product doesn’t have high expectations so I don’t write up a review. This monitor was different.I did some research and decided it would work for me. But it didn’t. As soon as the screen went to sleep after my work laptop or home desktop had been locked for some time, it wouldn’t come back on without being disconnected and reconnected.I didn’t try to return it right away. I tried messaging and calling the Support folks first. I got stuck with people who maybe were dealing with too many customers and had no time for me, and someone on a very poor quality phone line who could barely hear me or speak intelligibly. I persisted but he couldn’t help at all. If a company wants to outsource key support overseas, be sure to ensure rapid responses, call quality and English proficiency or its worse than not answering the phone at all.In the end, the Amazon support folks suggested I just return it. What a waste for a company that spent money developing this hardware. For all I know, it needed a different driver or there was a configuration option that I couldn’t find.

Works well. Looks sharp. USB-C connection w/ power delivery & docking is nice. Quality stand.

This monitor is pretty sharp and the screen gets nicely bright. The viewing angles are good and black ranges are pretty dark. I like using this display with its HDR mode on all the time.I’m using this monitor with a Macbook Air M2, which natively supports only one external monitor, so the large 32″ 4k of screen real estate is quite nice as a primary monitor. The usb-c connectivity with power delivery and docking functionality also works very well, so no hub or dongles are needed and your desk stays clear. The stand is also very solid and allows a wide amount of adjustment. The only thing that took a little getting used to is 32″ is pretty large, so it took a moment to get accustomed to sitting a tad further away, but I’m quite happy with it over 27″ options.

Dual AOC 27″ 4K Monitors are great!

My AOC 27″ 4K monitors are great. Color quality and brightness are meet my needs for general computer use (I do not do much graphics, video, or picture editing and no gaming). In fact, I’ve not made any adjustments to the picture settings. I do a lot of work in Excel and Word and the detail provided by 4K is amazing. Gridlines and numbers in Excel and fonts in Word are amazingly fine and crisp. It really improves using both apps. I’m also a high school volleyball coach and watch a lot of game videos which likewise are greatly improved in 4K (I use a GoPro 7 Black for filming). I bought the monitors to replace two 24″ Dell monitors from work when I retired in January. I run them off a new Dell XPS 13″ through a CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 dock with one running off the HDMI port and one off the Display Port. I do not use the included stands, other than for setting up the initial connection to the dock, but the stands were very easy to connect and disconnect to the monitors and I kept them in case I ever change my configuration. I do recall that the monitor position on the stands was rather low, maybe only 6″ above the desk surface. Each of my monitors is mounted on a separate Huanuo articulated monitor arm attached to the back of my desk. I knew the 27″ monitors were not going to fit inside the side supports of the hutch of my desk which is only 46.5″ wide on the inside, so I have them positioned in front of the hutch with the center of the screens approximately at eye level. With the Huanuo arms, it’s easy to move them down or to the side when needed to access the hutch or to bring one forward for close work. My only disappointment is that the side bezels are .3″, not quite as thin as I was expecting from the “Frameless” heading and looking at the pictures online. In my arrangement there’s about .62″ space between active screen segments when perfectly aligned next to each other. Currently, I never have windows that span both screens, but I do plan to use this setup for Microsoft Flight Simulator someday and I had hoped for a slightly more seamless main display. If you’re not familiar with AOC, the company is a direct descendent of the old Admiral TV and appliance company. When I was growing up in the 60s, many people had Admiral color TVs when color was first appearing. When I realized this I was more confident in giving these monitors a try and I’ve been completely satisfied with them.

    Matte, not shiny

This monitor is perfect for me. I need a matte finish. I have an extraordinarily bright work area and shiny monitors are virtually impossible to use. It took three tries to find a monitor that was truly matte. Some of the shiny ones advertise as glare resistant, or glare reduction, but I noticed no difference in the glare. THIS ONE truly is matte. The color is better on shiny ones, but I can’t enjoy that if all I see is a reflection of myself.

    Dead Pixels

It is hard to see from a phone picture, but there is a dead line of pixels straight down the center that is visible probably 30% of the time. It was packaged real well, so I doubt it was damaged in transit. It just came defective. Kinda upset I’ll have to buy another monitor in the near future because this will drive me crazy.

    Display Port Support Needs Work

First, the good: The actual LED panel looks great. For a daily desktop screen, this is a solid 4k setup and in a great size and thin-bezel form factor. It’s a very clean mechanical design and the LED indicator isn’t trying to overpower the brightness of the screen. But: I have this plugged into a Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop. The laptop has worked great with Acer, ViewSonic, and even Dell monitors. Two of those are also 4k screens that use Display Port from the laptop. Even running dual monitors through a USB-C dock has been very reliable. This monitor, however, has a lot of trouble with this laptop. At random times during regular use of the computer, the whole screen just blanks out to black and comes back to life as if it’s coming out sleep mode or the laptop is waking up. Sometimes it will happen several times within a few minutes. Other times it seems to go most of the day and only cut out once or twice. There’s no pattern I can figure out.I imagine, if it works with your computer without any hiccups, it’ll be a solid monitor for regular desktop use.

Great monitor for programming or general use

I bought 3 of these for a triple monitor setup. I do mainly programming. No gaming at all, so can’t attest to that part. I do like them. The only downfall is the screen will flicker when certain colors are brought up through Photoshop or a web browser. Dark colors. It’s only on 1 monitor and happens so rarely that it doesn’t bother me.These are inexpensive, so you’re going to get what you pay for. But again, I’m using the max resolution for programming and general design with photoshop and illustrator. No active gaming. As for color, the three are different colors and cannot be calibrated to be identical. Luckily, my design doesn’t require Pantone matching. Otherwise they’d be useless. I’ve tried everything to get them as close as possible.Would I buy again? Sure. For the same use only.

    Jack’s Screen

It’s been a long time since I bought a computer and decided to buy separate units. I cannot be more pleased with this monitor. I am not a gamer. I am nearly 70 and I am so pleased with the clarity and color of this screen. I would highly recommend it. It is still fairly new. So, I don’t know how time will change it, but for right now. I am truly satisfied.

    Had to return it

Sleek design, easy to install and get up and running. Super clear image and the quality was amazing. Exactly 30 days after receiving it I got a glitchy screen. I restarted, changed HDMI cable, worked fine then got glitchy again. Tested all my gear with a tv and worked fine so I had to return this. I was lucky Amazon let me return it a few days after the return window ended. I don’t know how I feel about this company now.

quality of image is great! although…

I bought two of these monitors, both showed up with pixel discoloration around the outside of the screen? not sure why. it is not a monitor that can be seen from any angle, very much so needs to be straight on to see everything the way it should look. I probably will buy something else.if these wouldn’t bother you, its a great 4k monitor on a budget. otherwise, look somewhere else.

great picture for a budget monitor

This is a review for the U2790VQ. These are selling like hotcakes during covid since everyone is working from home but if you wait patiently you will get one. This is probably not the best gaming monitor since it’s slow but for office productivity, light coding, it fits the bill. I’ve tried philips and LG but this one seems to fit the bill the best for the budget. I am using this with a macbook pro 2015 so the native resolution is 2560 x 1440 (QHD). The Default for this is 1920 x 1080 but if you want more real estate i would go larger. Though it can do 4k, I usually upscale so that the font and text is clearer. The OSD is kind of rudimentary, nothing as good as LGs or Philips but it works. There’s even some blue light filter modes that make it yellowish to save your eyes. The panel is made by Panda LM270PF1L which is found in the philips as well. It’s matte and 3H hardness so its pretty good glarewise. I have just powered it on for a bout a day but I will review in a months time for daily use. I may get a second to get more realestate and a dual monitor mount. display is pretty light, about 3kgs without the stand. The stand? Pretty crappy. I would say just throw it out. It’s all plastic and it wobbles on my sturdy desk. I understand why manuf. want to cut costs and they do it with the stand. It’s not even height adjustable. It tilts about 15′ only. Brightness is pretty good. No sound even though speaker grills are there. I think they use this shell for another model. It doesn’t matter anyway since most monitor speakers are pretty weak at 3W or even 5W. Just hook it up to something else since there’s a headphone jack.Bezel is pretty thin, I would say 5mm on all side, the bottom is the thickest. Maybe next time they can just make the AOC symbol light gray instead of silver. Back has 2 HDMI, 1 DP which is my suggested way to connect since it offers the best resolutions. If you can pick it up below $250s. It’s still worth it. I wish they had this exact one in 32″ but I guess that’s for the future. End of line.

    Buy the warranty.

I purchased this monitor on the 8th of December as an early Christmas present for myself. as of 4/1/2023 the screen has had this green line on it. I did not buy the warranty through amazon as the manufacturer has a warranty for new purchases when you register the product online.I registered the product through the account I made just for this monitor only for them to tell me I am after my “90 day” period for returns, but the real kicker is they can fix the monitor!!!If I pay shipping.I’ve had the monitor a total of 118 days before it crapped out right in front of me as I was watching youtube. The overall quality of the monitor was great, the pixel density is nice, but the screen is very prone to tearing and issues without V-sync. This purchase gave me such buyers remorse I will not be purchasing from this company (AOC) for any other monitors or electronics. I’ll update this as I get info from AOC regarding the repair of my monitor.UPDATE: the repair is not guaranteed to work due to travel and could possibly damage from there back to the house so I guess no more AOC products for me, way too much of a hassle imo.

    M1 MacBook Pro 14″/Flat Screen/Office Use

M1 MacBook Pro 14 inch/ Flat ScreenI purchased this for an office use, mainly for document-editing, pdf-reading, and research work for ph.d studies. 32 inch should also work fine or better since the texts on this 27″ screen are clear more than enough. For video watching, you might want to try another model if you expect better quality than a mediocre display… Overall, I am truly satisfied with the quality at this price for office use!!BTY, HDMI cable works right away once you connect it to my MBP. No need to install any additional software for AOC.

I bought a second one for WFH. These are very good monitors with lots of real-estate at 4k and the size. Bummer this one out of the box looks like a small fold in one of the screen layers.Weirdly amazon required a full return and I need to reorder. No replacement on this…Oh well.

AOC CU32V3 32″ Super-Curved 4K UHD – Fantastic monitor for home or business use!!!

I’ve had this monitor for a few weeks now and really like it a lot. No issues with shipping, packaging, damage or dead pixels. Everything works great!I am not a hard core gamer and am using the monitor primarily for business use while working from home and for that purpose it works really, really well. I love the added real estate. The monitor is 4k with a native resolution of 3840×2160, but I have Windows set to display at 2560×1440 so that the pixel pitch matches the two older 24″ 1200×1920 monitors on my desk. I am using the HDMI connector as my older video card doesn’t have a display port. I had thought that it would be an issue, but it runs just fine. Again, not using this for gaming.I particularly like that the monitor controls are located on the bottom center of the lower bezel so they can easily be used when used side by side with other monitors. Some monitors have them behind the screen on the right or left side where they would be difficult to use in a multi-monitor setup. The controls were intuitive and I was able to easily match the brightness, contrast, and color of my older monitors. I don’t do any video editing, so I have no idea how accurate the colors are, but they seem fine to me. I am running the brightness at 90 and the contrast at 36.Some people have complained about the stand, but it works for my needs. It supports pan and tilt, but not height adjustment. I find that the height is about right for me anyway. The bottom of the monitor is 4″ off the desk and the top is 22.5″ high. The stand base is an oval shape with a glossy dark simulated wood grain a bit less than 11″ x 8″. It holds the monitor steady on my desk that is bolted to the wall with the 32″ monitor wedged between the other two 24″ monitors. ymmv!

    USBC Will not feed video

These monitors are as advertised, a great value… small bezel… install went great except for one little thing… USBC will not feed video… you have to use HDMI or something else… maybe the vendor can respond and tell me what I am doing wrong… but it looks like USBC is just for accessories, and will not feed video from the computer. Other than that, 5+ plus rating, highly recommended and a great value. These seemed to be the largest monitors I could get that would readily mount on a standing desk, and not be too heavy to lift, yet still give lots of productive screen real estate.

    One of 2 nearly-identical excellent low-cost 4K monitors

If you’re in the hunt for a low-cost 4K monitor, this should definitely hit your radar. I’m loving its 350 nits brightness, especially when watching video feeds. It’s a vast improvement over my previous 250 nit 4K monitor. The extra nits allow for greater contrast and deeper blacks. Performance-wise, it’s a good monitor. The settings menu system is a bit funky, but nothing a person with a bit of sense can’t deal with. The manual isn’t of much help, only stating the obvious. Once you’ve figured things out and made your selections, most of what you’ll need will be controlled by the joystick power switch on the back, which is simple. Many AOC monitors have Philips counterparts that are internally identical. In the case of the AOC U2790VQ, the counterpart is the Philips 276E8VJSB. Besides costing less, the Philips also comes with a 4 year advance replacement warranty, though I have no idea how well Philips stands behind it.Why did I buy the AOC rather than the Philips? For health reasons I need a monitor whose height can be adjusted. Neither the AOC nor the Philips comes with a height-adjustable stand. The AOC has a VESA mount, though—and the Philips does not. It’s a snap to replace the stand that comes with the AOC with a good, solid, inexpensive VESA stand. The base-hinged stands that come with these monitors aren’t nearly as firm. Also, the cables are hidden better with the AOC than with the Philips. But that’s a quibble.Note: you could get the Philips 278E1A, which is virtually identical in specs to the 276E8VJSB and includes a VESA mount…but it’s been impossible to buy without also incurring a $40–50 shipping fee. So it turns out not to be less expensive than the AOC.So if you don’t need a VESA mount or a really solid stand, go for the Philips monitor. If the stand is an issue, like it was for me, it only takes another $50 or so to fix you up.

    Great value

I bought a pair of these. The frameless design lets me put them next to each other for one continuous curve.Display quality is excellent on both DisplayPort and HDMI.There was one review/answered question that said that only one of the HDMI inputs supports 4K. That must have been an older model. These support 4K on all inputs.

I can’t say enough good things about this 4K 32″ computer monitor! It has truly transformed my computing experience.First and foremost, the picture quality is absolutely stunning. The 4K resolution provides sharp, vivid, and incredibly detailed visuals. Whether I’m working, gaming, or watching movies, the clarity and color accuracy are exceptional. The size of the screen is perfect for multitasking. I can comfortably have multiple windows open side by side without any compromise on visibility. It’s also fantastic for gaming, offering an immersive experience that’s hard to beat. The build quality is solid, and the thin bezels give it a modern and sleek look. Setting it up was a breeze, and the on-screen menu is user-friendly, allowing for easy customization.Connectivity options are abundant, including multiple HDMI and USB ports, which makes it versatile for various devices.Overall, this 4K 32″ monitor has exceeded my expectations in every way. Great for productivity and video

I have a 2 monitor set up that I use and switch between my personal and work computers. My other monitor has a KVM, so that makes it super convenient. Anyway, about this monitor.I was skeptical of this monitor at first because it is a VA panel. Turns out the picture quality is great. If there are any pixels burnt out, I couldn’t tell you as they are too small for me to see. This is my first curved monitor, and I have to say, I think I personally prefer curved monitors now. Especially whenever monitors start going above 27”. It just makes everything easier to see, for me. I’ve watched 4k videos/movies on this monitor and it’s flawless, with vibrant colors. I didn’t need anything super fancy or expensive for my secondary monitor, just something that works. 60Hz suits my needs.I did a lot of research between the VA panels and the IPS panels. The IPS monitors cost a lot more money, and for my primary use, which is office productivity, this is fine. If your primary use case is gaming or something with high accuracy color reproduction, then you might want to look at other monitors. I’ve played WoW on this monitor, and it worked fine, but I prefer my other monitor, which was made for gaming and higher FPS.After a year of owning this one, I am very pleased with it.Update: I have an M1 Mac Mini and running dark mode causes this screen to flicker, quite a lot. I have to run it in light mode, which I’m not a fan of, but this is not a problem of this monitor. The M1 Mac Mini, for some reason, doesn’t support dark mode when running through HDMI. I haven’t tried running this through USBC, so that may solve the issue, as I stated in my earlier review, this is my secondary monitor. I just wanted to provide that update in case you happen to have an M1 Mac, I can’t speak to models other than the Mini, that you may experience this issue and it is your computer, not the monitor. My rating does not change as this monitor continues to be a great purchase.

Great work and causal gaming monitor, however received IPS monitor

Bought this for WFH and casual gaming with an Xbox Series S. I was surprised to have receive the IPS version. I actually prefer IPS but some people do not so heads up. I have divided the review between WFH and casual gaming:OFFICE USEPros:- Wide viewing angles- Consistent accurate looking colors- HDMI allowing for easy connection to laptops- VESA- High resolution allows for ‘more’ on the screen at once- Adjustable screen with fliters etcCons:- unsure what panel you may receive (<- big one)- no speakers- dummy thicc bezels- non adjustable standWhile I consider some of these cons, I will not take stars off as I knew this prior to buying the monitor. They need to sort out what panel they are shipping. Overall for office and WFH it is a great monitor.GamingPros- Freesync compatible (48 - 75) over hdmi- FPS counter built into monitor- low input latency- low pixel response time- 1440pCon- Only 75hz- No HDRPerfect fit for Xbox Series S. Was surprised to see this monitor has freesync as well as an FPS counter. Tested on Xbox One and Series S and it worked perfectly. While it does not compare to my 144Hz LG gaming monitor, this is good enough to get some wins 😉 Low latency compared to some TVs and the pixel response is good enough to not completely blur the image (IPS panel). As with the WFH section, while I put items in the con section, they are to be expected so no stars off.TLDRIt's a good monitor for work as the resolution allows for windows/programs to be visible at one time and the IPS provides good viewing angles and colors. Good for casual PC/Xbox Series S gaming as the 1440p screen is high resolution for how far you will be sitting and the refresh rate fits these devices well (especially the Series S). Low pixel blur and low input latency as well. Overall good work/play monitor for the price. 25 people found this helpful

Good value, stand is the weak link

This product gets 4 stars for matching the quality of my Dell 2723D (it will match the quality of higher-priced monitors if you pair it with them).Weakness: the stand. No rotation or high adjustment. It just sits there. Thus, to get two monitors to look good, you need to rely on the other monitor to maneuver to the right place.

    Big and bright screen

I cannot speak to framerates or response times, but this monitor is bright and sharp. I also don’t use the built-in speaker as I use bluetooth earbuds for audio. Connecting via USB-c & HDMI work well, but it’ll only take one or the other at a time–if both are connected, it goes with USB-c first.A couple small gripes: It takes a moment on startup to connect to my laptop, or my laptop to recognize it, where the Dell monitor I used before seemed to connect faster. However, after a few seconds, it’s connected and looks great. Also it is $hundreds less than the Dell model I used. Secondly, the USB ports are not powered when the monitor is turned off (where the Dell remained powered as long as it was plugged in). I just leave it on all the time as the USB ports power a few accessories on my desk.Overall, I can recommend this monitor. It’s very nice!

From Unimpressed, to Returning!! This monitor is HORRIBLE!

UPDATE: After only 4 days of use, this thing is being returned! I thought I might just need time to adapt to a new monitor, but in only 4 days, the yellowish cast/color that was initially out the far outer right and left sides, has kept creeping towards the center from both sides. Over the past days. I have gone into settings, and tweaked the yellow in the menu, trying to get rid of it….but I have maxed out the adjustment, and still have the problem. TOTALLY UNACEPTABLE for a $400 monitor! I’ve had one other AOC product in the past, and it was pretty much junk…..and now this?? Will absolutely avoid the AOC brand in the future!!The reason I purchased this monitor was because online reviews called the screen “glossy”….and that’s what I want…and nice bright, glossy, 32” screen…..Man, am I ever disappointed! It arrived today, I opened the box, pulled out the monitor, only to find an UGLY, HEAVY MATTE screen. Out of the box, the screen looks so grainy that I thought it had protective film on it….but no. The matte is so overdone on this monitor….that you can feel topography over the entire display, with a fingertip. Got it installed, turned on, and let it warm up for about 1/2 hour prior to trying any adjustments. As I suspected, due to the poorly executed “curved” design, when I could get the middle of the screen to look correctly (color/brightness/contrast), the further to either side….the worse it looks. It’s as if there are three displays, right, middle, and left, all put together, and very poorly blended. When I get the middle of the screen looking white…the right and left sides appear yellowish. When I get the right and left sides looking white, the middle is yellowish. I even tried some of the online calibration tools….to no avail. The provided “manual”, and so called “quick setup guide” are jokes! The manual provides no usable information, and the setup guide is far too small to see without a magnifying glass. I’m going to give it a couple of days just to be sure, but as it stands now, this is frankly the worst picture quality I have ever seen on a 4k monitor, and absolutely the worst brightness and contrast I have seen in ANY monitor. Keeping the box close, because if it doesn’t get better with a few days…..boxing it up and returning. I know there are compromises with this price point of a monitor, but to have the middle of the screen white….and fade into yellows on each side??? Either this one I got is a serious dud, or these are just plain horrible monitors.

Best value 4k monitor I have ever seen

I had gone through several monitors for my flight sim/work/occasional photo editing setup, I started with an old 24″ 1080p IPS panel but trying to fly with only one monitor is no fun, it was ok for everything else. I scavenged 3 22″ 1080p TN panels that were ok for flying but no good for work or photo editing. I then purchased 3 24″ 1080 VA 144hz panels, the high refresh was nice but the color was worse than the TN panels. I returned those and purchased 3 of the 27″ 4k IPS AOC panels. Here’s the pros and consPros:-Excellent color compared to everything I’ve used previously-Amazing clarity on text and photos-No noticeable backlight bleed-Outstanding viewing angles-Minimal bezel looks great in multi monitor setup-Color calibration and uniformity certificate with each monitor, and the certified measurements are absolutely incredible at this price point, color average deltaE is 0.4 to 0.5 for the monitors I received and uniformity is almost perfect 100%, one of the monitors has 99% at one of the measurement locations, I know where it from the certificate but I cannot see any deviation in brightness with my eyes-3 inputs allows me to run my PC, Mac and laptop dock without an expensive triple monitor 4k kvm (I have a basic usb switch to take care of switching the keyboard and mouse)-Scales lower resolutions really well, 1080 and 1440 have minimal blurringCons:-One of the HDMI inputs is only 1.4 which maxes out at 4k 30hz-HDMI inputs are not labeled which is HDMI 2.0 and which is HDMI 1.4, also no mention of which is which in the manual (as of now I don’t know which is which as my Mac and laptop dock max out at 4k 30, my work ordered a Dell D6000 dock which will do 2 monitors at 4k 60 and the third at 4k 30. I’ll try to update this when I figure it out which port is which) – EDIT- HDMI 1 is 4k 60, HDMI 2 is 4k 30-The area around the inputs looks “cheap” the black plastic cover has some big gaps around the input area so you can see the metal inside and silver tape-Some ghosting or trailing due to slow pixel response times, really only noticeable when you move a white mouse pointer on a very dark backgroundNit picks:-Only 60hz, but you’re not going to find a high refresh 4k anywhere near this price point, you’re looking at almost 10x the price for 144hz, at least for now-Not Freesync or variable refresh, same as aboveNotes:-The panel is 10bit/pixel but I don’t think it accepts a 30bit color input, all of my computers indicate 24bit color with no option for 30bit. 24bit is good enough for me so I have not investigated it any furtherI am extremely satisfied with these monitors, great value for such an amazing display. At my office I have a different brand 4k monitor that was almost double the price of the AOC and honestly the AOC looks much better

    Great picture!

I bought 3 of these to replace my aging 23″ TFT 1080p monitors. What an upgrade! The picture is very bright, crisp, and clear and I’m very pleased with them especially at the Black Friday price that I paid.I’m giving it 5 stars but a few cautions: This is a 2019 model but there haven’t been any vast improvements to the technology since then, so not really an issue. The plastic bezel around the top and sides is indeed very thin, like 1/16″ or 1mm but the screen itself has about a 1/4″ or 5mm black area around the display so you won’t get a ‘seamless’ appearance when you set them side-by-side. They do not have speakers, although they do have a headphone jack which extracts the audio from the HDMI. And finally, I cannot attest to its gaming abilities as I am not a gamer. But for a content creator, these are great!

Good Monitor for Macbook Air M2 for the $$

I purchased this for use as an external monitor with my Macbook Air 2022 M2 for general business use – email, web, spreadsheets and running business applications. I haven’t used it for gaming. I shopped around in this price range and was interested in this monitor because it was UHD, has height adjustment (many in this price range surprisingly didn’t) and had video input connectivity via USB-C to USB-C. As a bonus, it has some docking station features with downstream USB ports (although not USB-C). The USB-C connectivity may not work for older computers so you should do your research.I’ve only had this monitor for about a week but so far I am very happy (I will update if I run into problems). It has decent resolution/picture for the price and the USB-C connectivity for video works great. Since the single USB cable for video simultaneously charges my MacBook, I don’t need a separate power cable attached to the MacBook. This means I can unplug one cable and take my computer with me. When I return, I can plug in one cable and I’m ready to work at my desk. I haven’t used the additional downstream USB ports yet but it is nice to know they are there. There is an annoying issue with a 15-30 second delay for the monitor to pick up the video signal when I awaken the MacBook from sleep. When I return from a break I often have a blank screen and then have to move the mouse or press a key and wait for the video to return. I have been experimenting with screen saver and sleep times on my Mac to find the best solution. I have not yet been able to determine a way to speed up the monitor reconnect time after sleep. The product documentation included was mostly safety warnings in multiple languages with no user manual. Fortunately, I had downloaded the user manual from the manufacturers web site while shopping for this unit. That manual is sparse with grammatical errors and doesn’t provide much explanation of settings other than how to change them (about what I expected). Most are self-explanatory but I had to look up a few online. This unit arrived without any damage and worked pretty much out of the box when I plugged in the USB-C cable. Overall I am very pleased.

A wide color gamut, good accuracy and acceptable customer service

Okay, so I bought this a while back as a second monitor. I do photography and videography, but only need to deliver in sRGB for the internet, so the 100% sRGB appealed to me (I managed to get to 99.8% of the sRGB gamut with DisplayCal). Surprisingly, though, I learned that I was getting nearly 89% of the AdobeRGB and 91% of the DCI-P3 gamuts when calibrated and verified. These are very good numbers, ones that even an LG 27UN850-W monitor costing almost twice as much doesn’t even come close to.This is a good choice as a monitor for office work, imaging and viewing films. What I most like about this monitor is the unobtrusive anti-reflective coating, the lack of blooming of white on black text and the very reliable color accuracy. I don’t game with it because I’m a responsible adult with a wide range of other time-sucking hobbies, but I’m sure with the meager refresh rate, it’s not going to satisfy any hardcore gamers. But what I need it for, for doing some (non-critical) color-correct viewing, it meets and surpasses my expectations. The only downside for that is some inconsistency in the brightness uniformity. But this is absolutely forgivable for my purposes and I hardly even notice it.However, the brightness uniformity issue some have written about here leads to my next point about build quality. Here there are some issues. I suspect the uniformity issue is an issue of inconsistent quality control, because mine is tolerable and not as bad as some of the other examples seen here. Also, quality control was no doubt at issue when my monitor started developing vertical black lines after one year. This is caused by the adhesive degrading and the electrical inputs that connect to the display losing contact. I called AOC about it, I was asked to provide a few pictures and then I sent the monitor back. Thankfully, there’s a generously long three-year warranty period on it. Because of the price I paid for it, I wasn’t about to complain about losing it for three weeks, having to pay my own shipping and providing my own box, which they didn’t send back to me. I was just happy to get a completely new one in an acceptable time-frame.Looking at the monitor and comparing it to other displays, such as my partner’s MacBook Pro with the Retina display or the aforementioned piece of junk from LG, made me realize what a great buy this is. AOC is sacrificing a bit with build quality to provide some high capabilities in terms of what you buy the monitor for anyways: viewing. And with how fast display technology is moving, who really cares if the thing fails on you after three years?tl;dr buy this thing for literally anything else than gaming

Big and beautiful, but returned due to defect

My monitor arrived well packaged with factory plastic protective film covering all of the black plastic surfaces. I did a thorough test and was relieved to find no dead pixels.I was concerned about the max brightness rating being only 250 nits, but I’m using it now comfortably at 20% brightness, so no problem there. There is a minor loss of brightness at the far left/right edges of the screen, but it’s not objectionable. Otherwise, the colors are uniform, and show little variation with viewing angle. The anti-glare coating strikes a good balance between reducing reflections and preserving clarity. Grays are displayed with a brownish tint, a problem that seems common among VA panels.I was able to achieve the full 3840×2160 resolution @ 60Hz using either of the included video cables (HDMI and DP). I’m not a gamer, so the 60Hz refresh rate works just fine for me.There are a lot of reviews and Q&As stating that this monitor does not support VESA mounting, and the AOC website strangely does not list VESA mounting as a feature of this monitor. The monitor does, in fact, have 100×100 VESA mounting holes as mentioned in the item’s description above, and the support leg which comes attached at the bottom of the monitor can indeed be easily removed by prying out the small plastic panel and removing four screws. Others complained about the VESA mounting bracket interfering with the connectors on the back, but I had no such problem.I was concerned that I wouldn’t like the curved screen, but the curve is minor and found that I do prefer it to a flat screen. The one-button on-screen control panel works well. I recommend installing the AOC I-Menu software which, on Windows, allows you to more easily set monitor parameters like brightness, contrast, and even color temperature.Unfortunately, I found that on display of very specific content with very specific settings, the monitor “freaked out”, displaying a pattern of fine (one-pixel wide) vertical lines with a loss of contrast. This could be seen even in the OSD, which suggests that it was indeed a problem with the monitor and not my PC or HDMI/DP cable. I don’t know if it is a design flaw with this model or a defect in my particular monitor, but in either case I returned it for a refund.

Visually great, colors are good, Monitor is annoying

Wow, this thing makes a noise which is akin to squirrels sucking on really tiny straws, it is a pain to set up for multiple inputs (I had no idea that was possible), is slow/difficult to switch between inputs, and switches back when the computer which is purportedly being taken as input goes into power save, causing you to have to go through the hoops to switch it back again. On the plus side, the graphics are good, the color range is as expected. In fact, all of the downsides are related to using this as a monitor for two computers.

    Good monitor

I own three AOC monitors and I haven’t encountered any issues for the past 3 years with any of them.

    Buy when on sale!

Fantastic bargain when on sale for $240.For $508 and some change, including tax, I purchased a pair of these. They replaced a pair of 24-inch Dell U2412M displays at 1920×1200,and cost less than those displays. This goes to show how pricing of technologycontinues to drop. What’s not to like:Glossy frame. There’s no mention of this just about anywhere.I’m not a fan of this at all, while others doon’t seem to care either way, so it’s a tradeoff. In my own use setup, I’ve not been bothered by reflections, but consider thisif you may get distracting reflections in your own use.All of that damned ‘protective’ tape covering the glossy surfaces. It’s not a lot, and it only covers the front bezel and perimeter, but it was ridiculously difficult for me to find a starting placeto get that unnecessary crap off the monitors. Plus, it’s securedto itself in places by cellophane tape.I can’t speak of the base/stand, because they’re on a steel VESA dual-mount clampedsecurely to my desk.An odd button/joystick for power and all other controls, but it’s surprisingly simple to use.Not as “bezel-less” as the pictures would suggest: there’s about a 1mm frame around the front glass, but the active display is about 1/4-inch from the outer rim on top and sides.Even so, it’s an improvement on the half-inch bezel of my previous Dell monitors, effectively reducing the separation between them by half.Super-bright as received, just as expected. What’s to like:4K display, costing less than most highly-acclaimed monitors from a few years ago.Rich colors and contrast, with a much higher Dynamic Range than what they replaced.I don’t have to turn the brightness up as high as I used to for very dark games.Colors seem nicely saturated, while not overcooked.Brightness reduced from factory 70% to 45% took care of the expected overbright.27-inch displays replaced my 24-inch displays at lower cost, giving me more display area.No dead or stuck pixels found in full white, black and grey. There are some issues with scaling on a 4K output with some programs, but mostreasonably modern programs can be taught to behave, such as Photoshop CS6.Color calibration would seem to be real, as both monitors were packed with result printoutsof the calibration. I made a change of 100K temperature to one, instead of the few-thousand Kof the old ones, and these are far more equal than the old.Packaging is robust. It’s packed in formed Styrofoam forms, and mine arrived in sturdy boxeswith no apparent abuse, even though Amazon left them on my doorstep without concealmentof the products. And yes, it was Amazon delivery, not USPS or FedEx or UPS, and as usual, they just dropped and scanned without a knock on the door.Overall: You can’t do better than this monitor if you can get it for $240 or less.

The best at this price and for my needs

I bought this at the end of 2019 as a gift for myself. I wanted a monitor that would be good for gaming and illustrations. Here’s a run down of my specific wants:> 27″ monitor (I felt 32″ was too large. I would be fine with a 24″, but this was, again, a gift for myself and I quite liked this size in comparison)> LED + IPS monitor> 4K Ultra HD resolution> High brightness> High color gamut> Low response time> High refresh rate> Anti-glare/Matte> VESA mountableIf you’ve looked into this monitor some more, you will notice that it does not satisfy everything I wanted. The U2790VQ is NOT a LED monitor, but an LCD with WLED backlight, which is better than an LCD monitor without an LED backlight. It also does not have a high refresh rate; it caps at 60 fps (tested and true). But when put side by side to other 27″ monitors with similar specs at this price, the U2790VQ was still the best option. This monitor has the highest brightness of 350 cd/m^2 compared to similar ones at this price point. There were others that had a higher refresh rate, but lower brightness and color gamut. Since I planned to use my computer for illustrations, the refresh rate wasn’t as important of a factor as the brightness and color gamut. There were more expensive ones that could satisfy EVERYTHING I wanted, but I would be looking at, at minimum, a $150 increase in price, which I wasn’t willing to shell out for. So, that is to say, I was willing to exchange these two points for the savings.————————–I am back after a year just to see if the market has anything that might fit my wants better at the $200-$300 price point, but it seems that it is still the best option. I practically use it everyday for long periods of time, especially since COVID began, and it has not failed me in any regard. There is no bleeding, no dead cells, nothing. It’s as good as it was right out of the box. I don’t have to use it at full brightness–especially in the room I have it in–but it is nice to have that option. The screen is not AS consistent in color at different angles as I would like, but it is minimal and is only a slight nuisance when doing my illustrations. It is far better than a normal LCD monitor. Sometimes I do wish for higher fps, but I’m used to playing at lower fps rates anyhow, so it isn’t something that bothers me–just a thing I would be looking for when I eventually upgrade to a monitor worth more than $500. I will be sticking with this one until then.
