Bought for Gaming but so Good Using for my Photography and Production Design Work

This was to be my VR gaming set’s monitor, but when I saw the intense depth and tonality of colors it went out to my art studio. I can plug the VR computer into my larger television with the same resolution (although the color on this newer monitor is so much richer and to tell you the truth my art is much more valuable to me than gaming). Color profile is very easy to synch for my image and editing software, so I get the same colors on the monitor as I want them to come out in either print artwork or video. The screen size (27 inch) is good for doing detail work and its resolution matches my personal video camera (first gen Blu Ray quality, 2K, not 4K UHD). At 2K I can zoom in what I am working on until it is 100% and do precise editing / imaging allowing for the perfection I desire in my work. Quality matters when you are a professional. It obviously has the latest HDMI connections (my old studio 25″ monitor was VGA, why it couldn’t be a VR gaming monitor), so the picture is stable and smooth. It also fit with all of my HP computers so if I want to use the monitor with any of them, I can bring it in from the studio (or take laptop out there so I have two screens to work on). Two screens are actually very enhancing to video editing workflow, so this monitor actually has been a benefit for working.

    Very Sleek monitor

The thin borders and ergonomic capability are very nice, can change to completely vertical setup if desired. The brushed silver plastic looks nice and modern. The anti-glare coating is actually pretty helpful since I have a lamp behind me that reflects toward my field of view… you can tell it really cuts down on the glare. It gets plenty bright and I actually have the brightness turned way down.Assembly is intuitive. Speakers are very good quality….much better than my laptop speakers I was using (or any laptop speakers that I’ve used).Has some IPS backlight bleed if you’re worried about that, but is only noticeable if you have a completely black screen (doesn’t affect for basic email, web surfing, etc.)

    5 Stars all the way.

I bought this monitor for my laptop in December 2020 for $109.99 when it first came out. I read the specs on it and new it was a good all-around monitor. Picture & Screen quality 5 Stars, as for gaming I can not say. Now in July 2023 it is on sale for $122.61 so I just ordered another one for my wife’s laptop. OH and it has speakers on the back of it that are as good as laptop speakers. HP is a great name that makes great stuff for a reasonable price. My personal opinion is that this monitor is better than the one that is about to replace it by far and @ 1/2 the cost. Sorry HP. This is the newer model I speak of – “HP 24″ M24f Monitor with 3-Sided Micro-Edge Bezel, Silver and Black – 23.8″ FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Diagonal Display, AMD FreeSync 99% sRGB Color Gamut, VGA and 1 HDMI Ports, BROAG USB Extension Cable” NO speakers & why does it need a BROAG USB Extension Cable? As far I have read in the specs there is no USB hub/port on this new monitor. That is just my opinion – if you are looking for a great dependable monitor with a great picture and speakers @ a GREAT price. Buy this monitor. Sorry again HP but I just could not believe it when I seen it on sale for this low price. I think they are going to retire this model because it is TO GOOD – Just my personal opinion again.

    Works great-speakers can be problematic

The monitor has worked well with my dual screen set up. I purchased it as a peripheral for my mac mini (mm) 2. The plus to this monitor is the built in speakers. When I bought the mm I didn’t realize it also had built in speakers. The challenge I have is being able to adjust the volume with the HP monitor. The volume on the HP monitor is great, far better then the mm, however. videos or streaming content do not always have volume adjust so the monitor speakers can be very loud and tedious to adjust the volume, having to go into the mac control panel to adjust the universal setting. The mm speakers are easily adjusted either with my mac magic keyboard or on the desktop icons but typically the MM speakers are not very loud as compared to the HP speakers. The work around is not bad but would be better if the monitor had a physical volume control on the hardware. Overall, for the price, it is not a deal breaker and I may buy a second HP monitor replacing my LG.

    Excellent Monitor For The Money

I took a chance on this one. Turns out this is legit. A really high quality HP FHD Monitor. Delivered in original packaging with all items sealed in the manufactures packaging. I was highly impressed with this beautiful simple design. Amazing HD quality compared to my nearly 9 year old basic 20 inch monitor. Only downside is that this monitor was marketed and sold in European, Middle and Far Eastern countries. HP Website can not provide documentation and/or diagnostic assistance online. However, HP Website did allow me to Register the Product for a Free 1 Year Warranty, as promised on Amazon. I only gave 4 stars because of other issues not related to the quality of the monitor. This is a good buy. I have only used for a couple of days and I don’t do gaming on PC only on my gaming consoles. But I do make videos and work in photography as a hobby, so this HP FHD was a smart decision price-wise and quality-wise. Will update any problems but I don’t think there will be problems.Previously, I have received a lot of defective tech from Amazon Sellers. Seems most are selling returned items and/or refurbished. Almost all computer tech accessories purchased by my family on this site have had to be returned due to defects in the past couple of years.

It has everything I need but it’s crooked!

I ordered this HP monitor at $118.99 and it mostly have all the functions I need.Pros:Height adjustment, tilt function, crisp color, size is bigger than expected which is great, adjustable sound, menu settings, easy set up, and fast delivery.Cons:It has no USB-C and USB ports (I can live with that); but the monitor itself is crooked! It is very noticeable when working on a document. I ordered a replacement and this time it will apparently take 4 days. The hassle of long wait and repackaging the whole monitor. Hopefully, the new one is not crooked as some reviews mentioned that they ordered twice and both came crooked. Overall, if not for its defect I still consider this a good buy.

Good monitor for the price, despite backlight failure at 9 months

I bought this to enhance my WFH setup and return my work monitor to my actual office setup. Out-of-the-box assembly was pretty quick – take it out, stick the stand on, plug and play.It did take some adjustment in the on-screen menu to get the settings right. I thought the defaults a bit rough. But once the sharpness and black settings were tweaked, it was quite good. I don’t know that I would use this for hefty graphics work, but as a side monitor for watching YouTube and responding to email, it’s great for the price. After 627 hours of use, it suffered a backlight failure (picture of the failure against the backdrop of my attempt to chat with them attached). As I’m under warranty, I reached out to support. Typical large-company support situation – time-consuming and near-painful tier 1 support, having me restart and change settings. After two hours they agreed to send me a box, citing a 8-10 day turnaround. Honestly, I’m debating just buying another (or this or another brand) and calling it a day. If they find it’s damaged then I’m on the hook. I can’t fathom it would be as it hasn’t moved in 9 months. But I recognize I’m more the exception than the rule. For its price, it’s a nice, name-brand monitor for day-to-day use.

Excellent monitor for general use and streaming video

Like many people, my wife has been working at home during the pandemic. She’s got a nice ThinkPad and I provided her with a Shure MV51 microphone to give her that big radio voice in Zoom meetings, and a USB Docking station (Plugable brand) which as the capability of dual 4K monitors, so I decided to buy this HP monitor to compliment the 10 year old 22″ ASUS HDMI monitor she had been using. Well, I was totally blown away at how monitor technology has advanced. The resolution on the monitors is the same (1080p) but if you click on the photo, you’ll see that the black levels on the new monitor just blow the old one away. This is the reason why Plasma displays dominated high end TV for a while because LCD displays could not deliver the contrast ratios for home theater. Granted, if you’re just working on an Excel spreadsheet, reading email or in a Zoom meeting, the difference doesn’t matter much. But if you want to take a lunch break and watch a 20 minute episode of your favorite TV show on Hulu, the difference is obvious. I did not give this a rating for gaming, as this wasn’t tested and it’s not a gaming monitor to begin with. Another nice feature is that it is height adjustable, so no more putting your monitor on a stack of books to raise it a couple of inches. I does have speakers that play through the HDMI input, but they are not as loud as a typical phone. The speakers are good enough for viewing a video or doing a Zoom meeting in a quiet environment, but that’s about it. Because the border around the screen is so thin, expect any webcam to intrude a little on the top of the screen. It also uses a standard PC power cord and not a “wall wart” power supply. Many new monitors are moving towards this and I don’t know if it is a blessing or a curse. The upside is that you can use a standard power cord and not have an external power power supply hanging under your desk. The downside is that if the power supply carps out, you can’t replace it – you have it repaired (highly unlikely these days) or replace the entire monitor. Very impressive

I’ve only had the monitor for a short time, so maybe reliability could become an issue, but this is an amazing visual experience. I mostly watch old TV shows and movies so the color isn’t as critical as it might be to some, but the color quality on 30 year old movies is excellent. What I can’t believe is the clarity of watching old shows like Perry Mason and Dick Van Dyke. Extremely pleased.I should also comment on the volume control, as I struggled to understand it. This was part of a review written by Lindguini, so I’m plagiarizing:HOW TO FIX LOW VOLUME SOUND: The built-in speakers are better than some reviewers indicate. I believe most people don’t discover that the monitor menu has its own volume control that’s set to 50% volume by factory default. If you just connect this monitor to the PC you’ll automatically get sound through the HP speakers via HDMI or DisplayPort (you only have to use the separate audio cable when using the VGA input). But no matter how high you turn up your PC volume control, you’ll only get 50% volume from the monitor’s speakers which is why people complain about low volume. To fix this, all you need to do is go to the “Management” tab of the monitor menu, select “Audio”, and then turn up the volume control from 50 (default) to 100 and you’ll find the monitor speakers are plenty loud. After that, you’ll only have to use your PC volume control as normal.

Own 2 – Newest One Failing After 18 Months – NOT!!!!

7Dec23: I tried a new cable on the troublesome monitor and the problem has gone away. So my rating should be 5 stars but I am leaving this here because someone else who has this problem may see it and try changing out the cable as well. We just don’t routinely think that a cable is failing I guess…I own two of these that I use to extend my desktop on a MacBook Air. The older one is still working great. The newer one just recently developed a problem with a dark spot appearing suddenly on the left 25% of the screen (the right photo). I was looking at it when the lighting suddenly diminished. Upon searching online, this seems to be a common problem for HP monitors as you can find many posts to their community forums dating back over a decade. Unfortunately all the solutions are for a Windows based machine and it is never clear if any of them ever worked. MacBook and second monitor are fine so the problem is not there. I did not buy the extended warranty because I have had such good luck with HP products in the past. It remains 100% usable. So the older monitor gets 5 stars because it meets my needs quite nicely and the newer one gets 1 star because I am a stickler for how things look and this monitor definitely has a problem. The peculiar thing is that if you screenshot with Preview the spot is not there (see left photo) though you can see it. The problem is also intermittent which is a pain. Am checking cable connections. If cable problem, will update.

great viewing and easy screen controls

I’m very happy with this monitor. I was able to try it out at a former employer’s office. At home, I had a larger monitor and unfortunately, larger isn’t always better.I like this size of this display. My monitor is only about 24″ away from my face and I have decent vision with diminishing reading vision. Looking at a larger monitor was more than annoying, it just wasn’t good to use and it made me not want to use my home computer.Using this monitor at 1920 x 1080 (recommended for this screen), and having the magnification set to 100% (Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display = “smaller”) is great!I don’t do gaming and I haven’t used the internal speakers. Can’t rate those.I sometimes change the color settings to help minimize the impact on viewing screens late at night (Warm, Neutral, Cool, Low Blue Light, Night, Reading, HP Enhance +, or Custom RGB). This is helpful.I am able to tilt the screen down and up with ease. And the rotate to portrait is great (raise display to highest settings and tilt back to clear the desk), but my old laptop can’t change the settings to view in portrait.I recommend this monitor. It’s great that it can also go on a stand that holds double screens. And with the very thin left and right frame sides, it would be a great monitor to use 2 or 3 side-by-side.

Very nice with a great picture! VGA mode is okay…

Set up originally using an HDMI cable and it worked flawlessly! Of course, one of the reasons I chose this monitor is because of the built-in speakers. Unfortunately, the speakers do NOT work with the HDMI cord plugged in. Originally, I thought the speakers just simply didn’t work.I contacted tech support and they had me try a different cord but never asked me about HDMI. So, although she was very nice, she had no idea what she was doing aside from reading a script. They need to add the HDMI issue their script. A note on the site itself might be a good idea as well. Anyway, she set up a return that I later cancelled (they never told UPS that I cancelled so he showed up for a return the next – actually, that was wrong as well since I couldn’t return it till the new one arrived – oh well…)Anyway, after I sat and thought about it for a while, I suspected that the HDMI carrying the audio signal thereby blocking it. So, I used the VGA connection. It works, but I had to significantly adjust the vertical setting on the monitor.Bottom line, the monitor is now fully functional including the speakers. The speakers sound pretty much like any other PC speakers although a tad louder, certainly loud enough for my use. I was able to tweak the sound a bit with the audio manager that came with the Lenovo computer. The point I deducted was for the tech support. I realize this is a new monitor but the people answering the phone should at least understand the technology even if they don’t know the item details.UPDATE 1: The monitor does NOT work well unless I use an HDMI cable, which I am now doing. So, I am back to external speakers. Basically, if I try to use anything other than an HDMI cable, the monitor cuts out (goes dark) frequently, although it does come back on again. BOTTOM LINE: I am not able to use the internal soeakers, perhaps you’ll have better luck…

Perfect monitor and Great value – Working from home

I was looking to get a 27-inch monitor, but my desk is not that big. I looked into several brands and this one caught my attention. I work from home. This monitor is the perfect size (not too big, not too small.) The video quality is pretty good. I use them to work from home. I like the contrast of the plate/grey color at the bottom. The sound of the speakers is decent, it sounds louder than my laptop. I was tempted to buy another 26-inch HP monitor. So, I was a bit apprehensive after I bought them, but once I installed them, I have not any regrets. Very happy with my decision.

Had One For 2 Years Before Finding Out It Could Pivot!!!

Title says it all, don’t know why I never thought to check! Was so simple to assemble without tools I never looked at the instructions when I got my 1st one 2 years ago. Wasn’t until I was looking to buy a bigger monitor that I saw a customer photo here on Amazon where it showed the monitor in portrait position and I almost immediately bought a 2nd one after flipping my screen a few times in disbelief.I love these monitors because they have built in speakers and while audiophiles complain about them, they’re good enough for me for online classes, meeting playback, etc. there’s no webcam so need an external one, or since I’m using these with a laptop just need to use the laptop one and remember to face the laptop instead of the monitor.Currently my setup is 1 laptop and 2 monitors with the display spanning across all 3 screens. Using for everything from light gaming (Warcraft), to streaming, to lots of spreadsheets. Base is heavy and sturdy.Don’t know much about color and resolution except I know that the two monitors match each other out of the box, but they don’t match the colors on my laptop, especially noticeable in the reddish/orange colors, but I’m not working on creative projects I will figure that out later.Price was comparable or less than Best Buy and Office Depot in most cases, if you can catch a sale even better.

This has been a miracle for me ….

I have Macular. My son saw me struggling to see my laptop and purchased this monitor for me. It is beyond great. He set it up, so easy I probably could have done it myself, looks really good on my desk, not intrusive at all, fits just right. He also got me a normal keypad and mouse and I am once again having a ball with my computer. Thank you to my wonderful son.

    Now in Excel Heaven

Woking more from home these days, I got a really nice Dell ultra sharp from the company, but if I wanted a second one I had to buy it myself. I got an acer that had good ratings, but was not sharp enough for my excel work. My wife bought this for the family computer, but I convinced her to let me try it first. Needless to say the family computer now has the Acer. Text is pretty close to the Dell Ultra. Considering this is half the price, I am very happy and have less eye strain now.Speakers are good enough for background music and conference calls. Not rocking out, but at full volume no distortion.Photos and videos look great.I got the Black Friday deal, so what I paid was a big part of my review

I love this monitor so much that I bought a second one after I received the first one. A Very Satisfied Customer

I am writing this review specifically for one major reason. Tech reviewers on YouTube and elsewhere are wont to tell you that a 27″ 1440p monitor is now the “sweet spot” and should now be the standard monitor size for work and gaming. A few will tell you they can’t use anything less than a 32″ monitor. Well, I have a 32″ monitor and I’ve tried a 27″ monitor too. Actually I recently bought two 27″ monitors, but I quickly returned them. My 32″ monitor is in one of my bedrooms, and I use it every now and then.Is a 24″ monitor big enough for work and play? YES. Plenty! Some folks use a 13″ laptop for all their computer tasks. The biggest laptop in the world at this moment is the Acer Predator 21X, which has a curved 21″ screen. So, everyone who uses a laptop for their computer tasks (and there a many, very many people who work this way), do so on computer screens less then a 24″ monitor. As far as I know, there are no monitors at my place of work bigger than 24″. In one Gadget Review article, Lawrence Bonk wrote, “Professional gamers nearly always use 24-inch monitors instead of larger monitors.”Before I go further, let me quickly say that a 24″ 1080p monitor may very well be the perfect size for any type of task you perform on a computer. It has plenty of screen real estate, and it is not overwhelming. Monitors of this size are cheaper too. A 24″ monitor doesn’t have much of the wasted spaces I found on my 27″ 1440p monitors. This 24″ HP monitor has two built-in speakers (thank you, HP!). Yes, I often connect my PC via Bluetooth to my JBL Partybox 310, but I love that I have an option of using the speakers in my monitor.I did not like how texts appeared on my 27″ 1440p monitors. Because of the higher pixel density, the texts were smaller than they appeared on this HP monitor, forcing me to scale up text and picture sizes on the 27″ monitors. Without even tweaking the settings on this 24″ monitor, pictures and texts were just right. I also played some videos on both the 27″ 1440p monitor and this 24″ 1080p monitor. And frankly, the quality was either practically the same on both or even better on this 24″ 1080p monitor.I don’t game. I use my computer for everyday, ordinary tasks (emails, study, paying bills, shopping, VoIP calls, video calls, video conferencing, work-related tasks, web surfing, playing music, and watching videos and movies). I can report confidently that not only is this 24″ monitor adequate for these tasks, I also prefer this monitor to the 27″ 1440p monitor (which I have already returned).Presently, I use two of this 24” monitors in an “Extend these displays,” dual monitor setup. I love it, but just one monitor would have been adequate for my needs. Some bloggers are adamant that having three monitors is the best for productivity, but I found that to be counterproductive. Not only does a three-monitor setup require more desk space, it also becomes a distraction. I kept asking myself, “What should I display on the third monitor?” The third monitor was totally dispensable.

One of the best purchases I’ve made

Works perfect for what I needed it for(assignments). Haven’t figured out how to use the built in speakers but I don’t need them anyways. So glad it tilts sideways as well as a programming student. I do wish it went a bit higher but haven’t had any serious issues with that. I bought the Warrky USBC to HDMI cable to connect it to my MacBook.

No complaints from me on the HP 24mh monitor.

Just got the HP 24mh yesterday, but it has impressed me so much I had to give a review now, but will edit if I run into any problems later. Very nice picture quality, and there are a lot of adjustments that can be made to make it more to your liking. The stand is awesome, best monitor stand I’ve ever had. My last two monitors have been Asus, and was planning on getting another Asus, but I seen so many people saying how much they liked this HP, thought I’d give it a try. My last monitor was a Asus vs239h-P 23″ 60mhz., which was a fine monitor and served me well, but was wanting something a little bigger with a 75mhz. refresh rate, and with a Displayport connector. I like the picture quality better on the HP 24mh than the Asus vs239h-P. I don’t game much, but I tried a few gams, and it looked good to me, but I’m sure a serious gamer would want something with higher refresh rates. They have a driver you can download for the HP 24mh at HP’s website. Highly recommended!update: This is really an amazing monitor. If I get the settings just right and have a great source I can see images with this like I’ve never seen before. It’s that good! My past two Asus monitors were great for reliability, one I used for 4 years, and the one before that I’ve had for 10 years, and still use it as a backup. Just hope the HP 24mh is this reliable.update: The built in speakers do a good job, not good for listening to music, but I never use a monitors built in speakers.Update 2-8-2023: Still a great monitor, and very glad I purchased it. For a great 1080p monitor look no further.

    Great value for the features

I selected this monitor because it has both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, (it also has VGA, but I’ll never use it) has a stand that will rotate to 90, allows for VESA mounting without blocking inputs, is 24″ diag. with small bezels, is 1920×1080, and is an established brand. It is all of these, no problem. What you also get is tool-free installation (nice to have even if you have plenty of tools), and cables! I expect a power cord with anything that uses power, but I did not expect an HDMI cable. It did not come with a DisplayPort cable, but I hooked one (of the two I bought) via miniDP, and a full-sized cable would have just gone into the parts pile. Six-foot HDMI cables are a great item to have laying around. It also came with an 1/8″ stereo patch cable for analog audio. I saw the description about speakers, but didn’t intend to use that feature. I didn’t even hook up the cable. What surprised me was when the monitor I hooked up via HDMI started playing sound from the laptop. This feature does not seem to be mentioned anywhere in this product description, nor even in the user manual, but this thing does HDMI audio extraction! I haven’t yet tried, but I think you could hook up a Chromecast and get the full audio/video experience. That said, there does not seem to be much of an amplifier — it’s not loud, even with the volume cranked all the way up on the PC (there is no on-monitor volume control). In any case, it’s a nice bonus. I didn’t buy this thing for the speakers, but their presence doesn’t bother me. The display portion of the monitor is fairly thin. The speakers do add a bit of girth, but no more than you would have from a similarly-featured (no audio) 24″ monitor from a few years ago. Same goes for weight. I generally use Dell 24″ monitors, and this HP model holds up well against the Dell models that are significantly more expensive (and have not dropped features like VESA mounting and 90 rotating base support).Bottom line: I’m thrilled to get a high quality 24″ 1920×1080 monitor with VESA mounting, 90 rotating base, and both HDMI and DisplayPort, and even giddy about the included HDMI cable and speakers, all for $110.

Check HP Products for VALID SERIAL NUMBER IMMEDIATELY

I like this monitor. I love the height adjustment! It will be so much nicer than bending my neck to look down at my all-in-one. Hard to find a height adjustable monitor at this price.I did have a bit of trouble getting the operating manual. Spent way too much time looking for a manual for this model on the HP website. FINALLY noticed Get Product Support on the order details page. I soon talked with a very nice human being who sent me a cut and paste address for the manual.Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten to use it much, other than to check screen quality. I ordered an HP desktop from another vendor at the same time. In my quest to get some questions answered about the computer, I found that HP had no record of the computer’s serial number. After some googling, I found that is a thing with HP. They don’t have a very reliable system for keeping track of their serial numbers. AND, if you have no serial number, there is no way to communicate with HP. Plus, you have no warrantee. Many people find out they have no valid serial number too late. Even the tech guy at the store where I bought the computer had had the same problem. He spent months (in vain) trying to get satisfaction from HP. I am still looking for a NON HP desktop.

It works, but I’m somewhat disappointed or an HP product

Maybe it’s because I’m learning disabled, but the non-glare flat finish on the monitor looks like laptops from 30 years ago. it appears not to be HDR already which is probably only important if you’re a gamer. I get the impression there are no windows 11 driver updates. I might as well left the new pc hooked up to the television.

Overall I like it, but I personally have a few issues.**It is 75HZ and there are speakers!

Let’s start with the pros!-The size is good, I think it looks pretty, it’s clear, has decently good speakers, can be turnt sideways, and is decent for gaming. I bought this primarily as a budget gaming monitor and to use it while I’m streaming games on Twitch.-Not too expensive-Nice looking standCons-Whenever I play any dark game like Skyrim, or see a dark loading screen from a game, I unfortunately see yellow bleeding on the sides. It’s been there since Day 1. I most likely will exchange it for a new one if I can find a solution for my second issue. I really needed a monitor for streaming, so I don’t have time to go days without a monitor again. This monitor does have a warranty, so I’ll have to contact HP at some point if it really starts to bug me while playing games like Skyrim.-I cannot connect my Nintendo Wii. I’ve tried contacting HP support but no one knows the answer so far and I get an error every time I plug in my Wii saying that I need to “change the mode” when there is no option to change the mode. I was really looking forward to streaming switch and Wii games but I haven’t found a solution for the Wii games yet although Switch games are fine… if I don’t, I may have to get a BENQ or some other type of gaming monitor that is more compatible with different gaming systems.**EDIT: I had to change my Wii settings from 480i to 480p and it works now! & Now I have two monitors and put them on a VESA dual mount!Besides that, it’s great! The height adjustment is AMAZING, I LOVE that it has speakers, and it has the ports that I need! Another HDMI would be nice, but it’s okay. Main problems were just the bleeding and not being able to connect my Wii. If I find a solution for my Wii I’ll update this review!-@LeSweetpea on Twitch, IG, and YouTube

A super nice monitor. Love HP

Love the picture clarity and easy to read text / numbers. It is a big brother to my 10 year old HP 22″ monitor that is on my older PC system. The price I got it at was wonderful at Amazon. Gave it 5 stars.

Great computer, and YES, it has 75Hz and Great Audio.

As someone who just started working from home, it was imperative that I get two good working monitors. I had never really bought myself a monitor before, and studied a lot about the different specs for a monitor, like refresh rate, resolution, panel type, etc. I also needed something affordable that would fit my budget. This was THE BEST find! I love it so much and it has exceeded my expectations, and I only bought them for $109.99 each! I never had an HP computer before, so I am definitely pleased. It was super easy to set up, the screen is like matte and not glossy. You can see everything clearly and it is super wide, just how I like it. You can also turn the monitor’s screen so it is vertical! So helpful when I am looking at excel sheets. You don’t even need to take the screen off of it’s base to rotate the screen vertically! They give you an HDMI cord and power cord for each monitor, so I was able to just follow the guide they provided and set it up in only 20-30 minutes.People have complained about the audio and the refresh rate not being 75 Hz…so I was hesitant to buy it. But I saw some other reviews and was able to toggle the menu and adjust the audio for both monitors, so I am able to get really good sound! Also, if you want to change the refresh rate, literally all you have to do is download Graphics Command Center on the Microsoft Store, go to Display settings and literally adjust the monitors refresh rate from there. BAM! 75 HzThe only reason why I am giving it four stars is because I wish there were more USB ports on the monitors. I realize now I may actually never use the VGA port…also, I am not certain the warranty on these devices, especially from Amazon, will totally help me if anything were to happen to these monitors. But so far, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE. 🙂

Great monitor + 75Hz + HOW TO FIX LOW VOLUME SOUND

This HP 24mh monitor has a clear, crisp display and is the perfect size for desktop use (not too big, not too small). It accepts both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs (and even VGA for old school PCs). While Windows will select 60Hz refresh rate by default, you can go into Windows’ display settings and select 75Hz refresh rate for this monitor. The 75Hz refresh rate really does help smooth out motion. You should also go into the monitor’s “Image” menu setting and set Response Time to Level 3 which provides the best VSYNC performance. One of the best features that places this monitor above and beyond its price range is the 90-degree rotating screen, height adjustment, and swiveling base. The stand is rock-solid without any wobble. The speakers are just fine once you discover the menu control I explain below:HOW TO FIX LOW VOLUME SOUND: The built-in speakers are better than some reviewers indicate. This is a great quality monitor with features beyond its price range. Fantastic value, HP!ADDITIONAL NOTE: HP sells an identical monitor to the HP 24mh under the model P24h. The only difference is that the P24h has a black plastic logo strip along the bottom instead of silver like the 24mh. Everything else is identical (specs, speakers, height adjustable stand, etc.) plus the P24h comes with both an HDMI cable and a DisplayPort cable.

Crisp display at a great price

I can’t emphasize the usefulness enough. It’s a really good display. The color contrast is good. The one surprise I’ve found myself utilising are the different orientations the stand allows. The speakers are average but I don’t think my use case needs them anyway so they’re just a plus.

    HP Warranty Fails Big Time

This monitor had everything I was looking for. Nice size screen, adjustable height / tilt and built in speakers. For 7 months it worked like a charm. Last week I moved it about 6 inches to clean and when I moved it back I noticed a black spot and horizontal lines. No worries, I had a 1 year warranty with HP. I talked to 5 different persons at HP before I was told by Suresh that for $105 they would send me a new monitor. Luckily I had purchased a 4 year extended warranty through Asurion for $29.99. They were great. All I had to do was return the monitor (UPS label provided) and I would receive a $125 gift card. I just purchased this monitor again (price up $25) and I will also purchase another extended warranty. Lets recap, I had 2 warranties on a monitor that I paid $125 for and for another $55 I am back to where I was a week ago. HP should be ashamed of themselves. Their customer service and warranty are a joke.

HDMI for Video and PC Speakers for, well, you know. Doesn’t keep that info saved.

This is from my Son..Hello, Update: I really don’t like the back speakers. I’ve upped the volume in the button prefs, but I won’t be buying another Monitor where they’re in the back. The colors are fantastic. If I use the DisplayPort, when switching to a game I discovered I have to press the power button on the monitor, let the light go out and press it again to turn on again. The has returned! If I exit a game, and go back to Desktop, I usually have to repeat that process. Using HDMI…zero problems. I have an odd setup, and I wanted to keep the Motherboard Stereo vs GeForce 780’s HDMI sound. But the Monitor kept switching back to HDMI for both every time I turned it off, then later on again. I then had to go into Monitor settings and change it again. I, honestly, forgot that my nVIDIA board has HDMI in the video hardware. Otherwise, this Monitor is doing everything is should and doing it well. Since nothing is perfect (done, complete, cannot be added to…final). I would suggest that HP rethinks where the speakers are located. I’d prefer them to be in the front. You loose some decibels when they’re in the back. If you’re in an Apartment, having the speakers in the back could be less helpful (which I am). I’m considering doing a cheap fix, “route” the sound to the sides…to the front. Otherwise, I really dig this Monitor. Windows 7 looks / sounds great with it. Yep, I still adore that version of Windows. 10, horrible GUI, 11…is a little better. I had to install Realtek’s HD Audio driver for all 3 OSes to get the PC Speakers to function. Once I remembered the nVIDIA has HDMI, I bought a DVI to HDMI..and went that way. I also disabled the Autio-Switch before doing that. They have the good fine-tuning controls which makes things sweet. Only problem is…it doesn’t save (“remember”) settings. So that’s something they might consider looking into…for oddballs. HA! I haven’t been a fan of HP in many years since their products have become cheap and unreliable for many years. Before then, they were a GREAT brand. Since the new printer with the long lasting Ink was released, and my Mother loves it, and since I’m her Tech, I’ve used it often and it’s doing better than 2 other versions of Printers. So, after checking the reviews here…I thought I’d go ahead and give this a go. I’ll check back later and update after some months.

Good monitor with one design error

I am not one to need 27” or 32” monitors. Two of these give me plenty of room to do not only all the ordinary things like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations, but also edit photos in Photoshop and do book layouts in InDesign. They have great resolution and excellent color rendition. As my go-to computer for pretty much everything, I also use it for Zoom meetings. Here is the only flaw in these monitors. They have built-in speakers which work okay but I often need to use a headset. My mini desktop doesn’t have a 3.5 mm jack so when I saw that the monitors do, I figured “great!” I can use the speakers when I want and plug my headphones in when I need to. Only after I set them up did I discover the 3.5 mm jack is an input, not an output! What a dumb idea. You’re much more likely to want to use that jack for headphones, not an input. So at the very least you should include both ports. I had to use one of the USB ports on my computer to plug in a separate 3.5 mm adapter. As a former 25-year HP employee, I’m disappointed to see engineering teams similar to those I used to manage making this kind of mistake. (And yes, you can put part of the blame on me for not reading the specs more closely.)
