Product arrived with no right stand piece; tv no longer works after 17 days
The media could not be loaded.
Hopefully it will still be sturdy enough. Tried to contact the seller and production company but it’s anticipated to take at least 48 hours before someone gets back to me. TV looks nice, but the lack of care in product assembly and lack of customer service response is always a flag for a tech product.Updated: after 17 days the tv no longer works. While they did send me a replacement stand immediately I will give customer service credit for that.See attached video for issue. The TV only flashes colors and shows no interface. It was cool for the 2 weeks it worked, but it only worked for two weeks. No hard starts worked in resetting it and the issue seems irreversible. Some googles show this has happened with other TVs in the brand. I will be returning this tv and purchasing a different brand

Not to good.
This tv has a few good merits but a blurry picture ruins the whole tv. I could not with all the adjustments get a clear crispy picture. Even the lettering is blurry. All backgrounds are extremely blurry. Most movements of any kind are jerky too. Faces and skin have to way much chroma and no amount of adjustment will clear it. Seemed to have very little blue tints as I could not make the sky or water scenes blue, they were always light green. I really thought I was watching a standard definition tv from the 90s, it’s that bad !! The unit is being returned, it’s certainly not as described.

Don’t buy if you are using a Roku
This TV is OK as far as picture, sound (might want to add a soundbar), etc. My problem is with the Roku. When I purchased this last October, everything was working great. Roku did an update sometime in December and the “Channel Store” started to malfunction. Most of the time channels just don’t appear. Sometimes the “tile” is grey. Sometimes you just can’t load a channel. Or remove it. If I want to surf channels, I use my laptop and try to install from there. This is happening on both the Ultra and my old Roku 3. Firestick and Blu-Ray work great. I think Roku may not be supporting this TV. I had to use a Sony code to get my Roku remote to work with this. I’ve tried every setting, reset, etc I can think of. So, I’d suggest not buying this if you are using a Roku; there are tons of other options out there.

Wrong TV sent but accepted
They sent a 515 instead of a 508. It’s basically the same TV but the legs are on the ends of the TV body instead of more toward the middle. The other diffidence is can’t out of the box control a Roku. They made good on the error and rebated the price difference. The 515 was less than the 508. I bought a TV table to stand and that solved the leg positioning problem. The remote is OK but it could be better, no direct control buttons for aspect, picture, sound or turning the speakers off. The Sound from the speakers have little base but the sound is clear and more than ample volume. All in all It’s a nice TV. Hopefully it will last a long time!

Screen went bad after 3.5 months of light use.
I must say, this is frustrating. I large, top to bottom, distortion of pixilated screen area developed all of a sudden. After numerous tests, I ascertained that it was the actual TV, being that zero cables were attached to it, and the screen anomaly remained. After contacting the seller, I was informed that I had to ship the product back, at my own expense — cross country to California. I live in Virginia, and my original box it came in, I no longer have. The cost to ship this 50″, 4K TV will most likely be a forth of the original price of the TV. I have no idea of how to safely pack this thing.This is my first experience with a sceptre product. As a consumer, I am very disappointed. Buyer, beware.UPDATE: The company has reached out to me, and will be covering my shipping costs, and providing me with a shipping box free of charge. I am changing the original rating to a higher one.

Good monitor
Whether you have need of budget tv for home or a return monitor for video recording or even CCTV. I am using this 50′ with a ROKU. Video quality of 480p is the best we get. Audio surround sound & 10 Meg + internet download speed & you’d be jamming. I ain’t ya mama cause if I were .? I’d be telling you to turn it down NOW! Peace

Volume doesn’t work. I can’t turn it up or down.
Great for the price but the volume is not good. I will try out speakers to see if that will help the problem. It’s to big to send it back. I hope the speakers work.

Excellent picture – Poor sound.
Picture is crisp and sharp, Colors are well defined and there is no perceivable blur during action scenes or sporting events. The only weak point it the sound. It is horrible – a tin can tied to a string is better. Tinny and underpowered, I have to use my external sound system just to make the audio listenable.I would give this a five star review if the sound quality was at least average, but as is I will only five three stars because the stock audio performance is just that bad.

Got this tv on sale, and it is definitely worth the price! The sound and picture quality is great as well. Lastly, the customer service is great too! I was missing a few items, and after contacting customer service it was shipped out right away.

Fantastic Dumb TV
If you still have a secondary device to use for streaming services or a gaming console, this is a perfectly good tv. Only issue I had was getting the stands to screw tightly up to the bottom of the tv. Had to use an electric screw driver for that. 4k works great, my xbox can control sound & power functions, and my soundbar works perfectly with the optical cable.

Good image, terrible audio
The image quality is good. The sound is terrible, totally hollow with no bass or punch at all. Either use this as a monitor only, or buy external audio of some sort. The only other annoyance is that the tv arrived with tape stuck to the screen instead of the plastic screen protector. It took rubbing alcohol and a lot of patience to get the tape residue off.edit:returning this item after noticing that the screen backlight flikers horribly when viewing 4k content and that there is a line of dead/dark pixels across the top of the screen. There’s better options for only a little bit more.

Good for the money, but not actually 4k
The media could not be loaded.
I run a 4k HDMI, 4k capable console, and I use the 4k port on the tv but I have yet to have anything better than 1080p. The base menu is rudimentary, but the picture is decent for 1080p. It’s half decent for the money. In a pinch, it will do.

Home theater system included with tv helps the sound quality
Great TV but don’t expect to get any sound out of any flat screen. I hooked a 2002 ONKYO Home stereo reciever into the optical output and that took care of the sound issue, just have to turn it up a bit has two 10 inch woofers in speker enclosures hooked up to the Onkyo Stereo Amplifier receiver and it improved the sound quality 100 percent.

Appears to have a weak receiving antenna
It will only scan 21 channels. The tv it replaced scanned +/- 30 and a small old tv scans 36 with the same hook-ups. Occasionally one of the scanned channel groups will pixelate to the point that it can not be watched. I have been on antenna at the same house and rural location for 25 years. Disappointing because it was rated as best among non-smart tv’s I had expected strong signal receiving capability. It works so I have kept it.

Need a quality “Dumb TV” | this one was perfect for me!
For years i’ve been looking for a good LED TV with ZERO smarts… e.g., I don’t want a smart TV for a variety of reasons. Mostly I have a ton of other smart devices (phones, speakers, tablets, Etc.)I am very happy with my “Sceptre UTV 50″ Class 4K LED TV 3840×2160” it works well and is simply a monitor. It has support for MHL, HDMI-CEC. and it will turn itself off when not in use.

Great TV, great customer service, too bad I needed it.
First off I’d like to say I would’ve given five stars except the first TV came damaged. The box was perfectly fine but the TV had a big black bar at the top and several multicolored streaks going down the middle. The seller however was very quick to get a new one on the way.

Good Value
I was looking for a new screen when the old one went out. Wanted to find an economical screen in a 4k. The screen quality is nice and looks nice. The sound is not good, but I did not buy this for its sound as I have a separate sound system. It is a great 4k if you are looking for low cost and don’t care about the sound quality.

Just received my order of this tv today. And it’s a steal deal fpr the price. The picture quality is almost on par woth my more expensive Polaroid 55″ 4K tv. The frame rate goes up to 60hrz. And so far seems smooth amd consistent. It would be nice if it went up to 120hrz. But, considering the price. The 60 is still adequate for sure. This tv has multiple ports. 4 4k 2.0 HDMI inputs, a USB port, a fiber optic input, composite input too! It has a headphone input as well. So if you wanna use headphones or, hook up speakers through an adapter for headphone inputs. You can do that. Which brings me to the sound. The sound quality of the tv speakers is honestly the only thing that kept me from giving this tv a 5 out of 5. The sound quality is like maybe a 2.5 out of 5. You can tweak/adjust the sound a little to make it slightly better. But it is just mediocre at best. Understandably so. Considering this tv is at such a low cost. Using a soundbar, a stereo hooked up to it. Or, headphones makes the tv speaker sound not too big of an issue. At least it can be worked around, relatively easily. The tv is light. It comes with what feels like metal feet. Amd, even comes with a scredriver to assemble the feet. The remote is pretty decent in my opinion. It takes two AAA batteries. Which two come with it. I put this in my bedroom. To finally replace the 35″ 1080p HDtv haha..I definitely recommend this tv if you are looking for a good sozed 4K tv. At a very good price!

Crisp, bright, clear picture, big screen, great sound, lightweight, what’s not to love? I had never heard of this brand before, but our TV died and we didn’t want a smartTV. This is the best $300.00 I’ve ever spent!
This TV is fantastic. I use it with a FireTV stick, so the lack of smart TV features is a non-issue for me. The picture quality is superb, and the audio is more than sufficient for use as a bedroom TV. I have not had a single issue with this thing in the 5 months I’ve had it, and my only regret is not buying the thing years sooner than I did. Five stars all the way! I really can’t recommend this product enough.

Best Dumb (TV) purchase ever!
This was a great buy on post-BlackFriday, pre-CyberMonday. Nice crisp 4K picture. Unit fits nicely into space desired.Note that these are fairly light issues but I list them because they were close to being super-annoying (thankfully we found workarounds!)Buyer Beware #1: This unit has no Bluetooth capability. It’s really dumb!Buyer Beware #2: The built in audio is really bad (see rating)Buyer Beware #3: The SPDIF Optical Audio Output is *not* controlled by the TV Audio control (your external audio device (e.g. Soundbar) must be controlled by another remote — raising or lowering the TV audio does not affect the SPDIF output levels).Workaround: our ancient soundbar had a 3.5mm jack and this TV has a 3.5mm “headphone” jack so our 4K TV is connected via 1950s 3.5mm technology to the Soudbar. Thankfully (!!!) the headphone output ** is ** controlled by the TV Sound.Buyer Beware #4: The U50 series does not come with a remote which connects and controls Roku devices. (I guess U55 and U60 do? the manual for the U50 has a long section on the Roku controls which… are not available on our U50 remote!).Workaround: The reverse option — using the Roku controller and stowing the Sceptre remote away for future excitement worked well. Roku plugged into HDMI port works great. Roku was immediately able to sync up and control volume on TV. With the audio workaround listed above, we were able to get much better sound than the native speakers provided and… the Roku remote controls the sound.Overall, even with the “buyer bewares” above, we are enjoying the TV and for the price we paid, the workarounds are a decent tradeoff.

Worked for just slightly over a year
Tv stopped working today, flashes Black White Red Green and Blue screens. If I try hitting the input button on the remote I can see the menu trying to glitch through but nothing ever comes. Tried pulling the power cable and plugging in at other outlets with no result. Was a nice tv when it worked, but I expect a tv to last me longer than 15 months.

Great for the value
I use this TV to watch cable and to play video games. I find that this TV is perfect for my needs. Scepter is a good lower price value tv. The smart features are either lacking or not user friendly. There does not seem to be any Bluetooth features and trying to connect wirelessly. But otherwise its function as a tv/video game device it works quite well.Great value for the cost.

Affordable Quality
This is my second Scepter television. I have a smaller TV which I use in my bedroom. It has performed flawlessly. The picture and color are vibrant and clear. When I wanted to install a larger television in my living room, this LED 50 inch was the obvious choice. The quality and price are hard to beat. I am very happy with my purchase. You could spend more money, but you won’t get better quality or performance.

Works beautifully
Bought this to replace the 32″ TV we had for 5 years before it went bad. Not disappointed at all. Picture is great at 4k and the sound is good for built in speakers. We have a sound bar that is attached to it and it works perfect also. Beats the LG TVs hands down since they have always failed within 6 months. I recommend this TV for anyone.

Excellent buy if you don’t need bells & whistles
Bought this as a second TV, picture quality is fine and am quite pleased with the cost vs. features balance. Speaker volume & sound quality is of course limited by the tiny speakers that are all that can be crammed into the space available, but is adequate.The menu/software gives a quite comprehensive range of adjustments, customizations & preference settings. It has all the basic inputs (HDMI, analog, USB port, etc.) needed by most users, just not in the quantity found on more expensive rigs.Outputs are limited to a headphone jack, which does not cut off the speakers when you plug in as most such do, which could be a problem if -as in my case- your objective is to be able to listen with headphones without disturbing others. However for connection to a sound bar or stereo system there is also an optical audio output which is independent of the normal speaker volume control settings, so with an inexpensive optical-to-analog converter and a little headphone amplifier I was able to solve that problem.All in all, a nice TV at a reasonable price.

Defective
Product arrived with a purple line down the middle of the screen. This is the 2nd sceptre TV I have purchased. The first time I got a TV with several damaged pixels. Now a giant purple line from the top to bottom. I won’t make this mistake again.

The Color settings could never get close to right
August 2022 purchase. I like the 4 HDMI inputs for Directv, Firestick, Apple and Laptop. However, no mtter which input was used the color balance was poor. Out of the box it was way too red. After hours of using the color, brightness and contrast settings to correct it, while the redness was reduced, the picture was not very good. (dark)Disappointed.
