Sound Plays Too Fast
The player plays sound too fast. Does it on every DVD disc I have. Sounds like Donald Duck.Update: 3-1-2023Under Settings, on second page, I restored default settings. Had resolution on 1080 and went to 720. Seemed to fix sound problem. Now 4 stars.

Great DVD Player for Smart TV
I have a Smart TV with no RCA connection. You guessed it, my DVD player only has RCA cables. Since I have a number of DVD’s that I enjoy watching, I needed a DVD player that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. I saw this product description, “DVD Players for TV with HDMI, Simple DVD Player for Elderly, DVD Players That Play All Regions, CD Player for Home Stereo System,” and at a reasonable cost of $35 thought I would give it a try. Well, this DVD player met all of my needs… HDMI connection that was easy to install, plays all my DVD’s, easy to use remote, and the cost for the quality of the product was very reasonable.

So Easy to Set Up & Use
This is the easiest CD/DVD player that I have ever purchased, set up and used. Great that it plays CDs and DVDs. Unfortunately, it stopped working after 6 months. BUT I contacted the company by email and the customer service person was prompt in responding to my email and within days replaced the item with a new one, not even requiring that the broken one be returned to them. The new device works as expected. Overall, I am very happy with the product, the customer service and the company.

Stopped working after a couple months
When the DVD player arrived I hooked it up and it worked fine. We used it once, and a few months later it didn’t work. There were some problems contacting the vendor but once contact was made the vendor offered me a full refund and seemed to really care about customer satisfaction. I would order other products from this vendor.

Easy to use – however no CC Closed Caption functionality
This is a very good DVD player. It boots up a disk quickly, produces a great picture, the remote is easy to use and it comes with both RCA cables and HDMI cables. I have tinnitus and require on-screen text so I assumed since this player was for the elderly, it would be fully functional for both subtitling and CC Closed Captions. It plays subtitles, but subtitles are part of the DVD Disk menu functionality, so most all players will play subtitles. However, this player does not have a CC Closed Caption encoder and will not play DVD Disk that has CC but not subtitles – which is about 25% of my DVD collection. I contacted the seller’s customer service – they were prompt in responding to my CC questions, but did not understand that subtitling and Closed Captioning are two distinctly different technologies. I really liked this player, but had to return it because of the lack of CC functionality.

I bought this DVD player because I wanted one that was compact and affordable. Even though my DVD Movie days are few and far between I still wanted a nice DVD player for whenever the occasion arises. This DVD player surpassed my expectations and for the price I think it is an excellent buy. I have it hooked up to my projection TV and the picture quality is really great. I initially had a problem with my purchase after about 9 months. I reached out to the company’s customer support (electcompro.com) and received a replacement within a week. After you purchase your DVD player from Amazon, you have the option (if you like) of signing up for an extended (3 year) warranty. If you watch a ton of DVD movies you might want to look into a more expensive name brand but for occasional use (like me) it’s perfect. Thanks!

Received replacement after unit stopped working after 6 months
UPDATE: after reaching out to company via the support form on their website, I received a replacement unit about a week after requesting one. So far, it works fine.Here’s a fun fact: the remote requires a minimum of 3 meters of space between itself and the unit in order to work. Any closer and it doesn’t function! Just an FYI.Original (one-star) review: Worked fine for 5 months or so. Completely stopped working. Nothing happens when plugged in: none of the buttons work and no lights come on in the front. Support options non-existent after Amazon’s 30 day window. BUYER BEWARE!

Great little DVD player, but there is no on/off switch!
I get it, I can turn it on and off with the remote, and perhaps I’m old fashion, but wouldn’t it be great to have the option of turning it on or off while I’m standing at the DVD player via the DVD player – asking for a friend.

There was and is nothing wrong with it I bought to watch the trilogy of Avatar the movie itself is 19.99 so I didn’t lose I came out ahead incidentally I only paid about $3 for the USED trilogy,and it looks brand new package and all from Amazon so consider used refurbished that is the $17 night stand so easy to put together it doesn’t have to come with instructions the office chair was $17 and I think the DVD player was $19,the 3disc avatar trilogy was 3 and my desk was 32i also bought a 6ft cat condo tree for 12.00and all from Amazon altogether desk chair DVD player cat condo and 2 10ft nice C/chargers 8.00it was all 93.00

Very cheap plastic
Turn it on and loaded dvd and was not able to play and skipped. Turn off and tried a few more and after three tries was able to play. Not sure if this will continue. No grip on bottom so unit will slide. Light weight and plastic housing flimsy and cheap. Seems like could crack easily

DVD Player Does Not Work **UPDATE** Issue corrected by seller
The seller contacted me after I posted this review and they sent me a new unit which works. Great customer service!!This DVD player does NOT work. The DVD player was delivered while I was out of the country so I didn’t try to hook it up until after the return window closed. We hooked it up to the TV, it powered on and we could see the home screen on the TV. But when we put a DVD in the player, it kept saying “No Disk”. We tried several different disks but kept getting the same message. Now I’m out +$30 due to the small return window. Not happy.

Inappropriate Remote Control for Disc Player
Wish I had taken a close look at the remote control before I bought this. It appears to be a generic remote control, not something with button shapes and groupings that are specifically designed for a disk player. Rather than a group of buttons for play/pause, stop skip-forward, skip-reverse, etc. it just has a play/pause button with other the motion controls buried in the array of general function buttons at the bottom — if there at all. This makes controlling playback unnecessarily inconvenient. To add insult to injury, the remote has to be aimed directly at the player. You cannot just aim in the general direction — a little high, low, or left or right and the player will not see the remote at all. Most remote controls today are not anywhere near as fussy. (And yes, I used fresh batteries in the remote.). Thank goodness for Prime free returns.

A versatile disc player
I was finding it hard to find an affordable audio CD player for my old school stereo system. This little unit worked out very well for me. I only needed it for audio CD’s so I stashed the video cables and connected it to my tuner (amplifier) with a red and white RCA stereo audio cable that I had lying around. It sounds great and it solved my problem. The unit seems sturdy, but a little on the light side so handle it with care. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with the unit and it is a great value. And, according to the manual, it will play just about any kind of audio or video disc you may have (e.g. DVD; DVD+RW; DVD-RW; DVD+R; DVD-R; HDCD; VCD; CD; CD-R; MP3 Music CD; Super VCD, and CD-R/-RW.
